    1 scoop pistachio

Looking for a quick stop for ice cream and the name obviously caught our eye! They had a good variety of ice cream flavors but nothing really impressed me. Ended up choosing Pistachio as it's my tried and true. This one was a little strong with pistachio flavor. Not bad, but not great. The servings were HUGE for the price which was definitely a plus. A 1-scoop was easily 2+ at some other shops.

Anyplace named Dipsy Doodle Dairy Bar, would catch my attention for sure! And we had a fabulous time! I got the haddock nugget fish tacos and they were delicious, fresh, big nugget chunks, not greasy or heavy. My partner ordered clam strips and the were fresh and delicious too. Our kiddo got a chili hot dog and he devoured it and said the chili wasn't spicy so that was good., the fries are great! Definitely eat there. It's a locals hot spot. Also, indulge in the ice cream. It's Giffords I think, so about 50 flavors and the soft serve was very creamy. I'd stop there again anytime! There are plenty of outdoor picnic tables to eat at too.

Neat little drive-in restaurant located across the street from the Northfield Police Dept. Dipsy Doodle Dairy Bar offers burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, fried seafood (haddock, clams, scallops, shrimp), lobster rolls, chicken tenders, chowder, salads, fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings, Pepsi products (vending machine outside too), and ice cream treats (25 hard flavors plus soft serve, dipped cones, sundaes, shakes,). Food items are served solo, but for $1.50 more can be upgraded to plates (fries & slaw). There are outside takeout windows, outside picnic tables and a takeout counter with inside seating, but just be warned that the inside really smells a strong odor of seafood. Stopped here for lunch and had the Chicken Tenders Sandwich Plate ($7.29 with tax), which was ready in 10 minutes. The food was pretty good and tasty. The sandwich had 2 breaded plump white meat chicken tender with lettuce & tomato on a toasted bun with side of mayo, with lightly fried fresh cut fries, and a light tasting minced cole slaw. Got a refreshing small coffee cone ($2.43 with tax) for dessert afterwards.

A dead wasp sitting in my food after I had eaten the fries around it.

I am a huge fan of good fried clams, both my sister and my mother claims that this place has some of the best in the area. So I drove down to try them out and when I got there, the board outside showing the prices said that they were about $18-$20. When I went to order, a girl who looked like she had no clue what she was doing, probably fairly new, took my order, and I insisted on giving a small tip. Even though that was all I got, the price ended up being over $30!!! For a few ounces or so of clams and fries. I'm not a person of confrontation and like I said, the girl running the register looked new. I did try to hint that I think she was charging me a little much by hinting that "the price of clams must be high nowadays" and small things like that but ended up paying far too much for what I got. However, after that things went smoothly. The food didn't take too long and the person handling the food even gave me some extra sour cream. Considering I ordered this food during the pandemic, I took it and started to head to my house and eat it there. Once I was in my car I did open up the container once and quickly eat a clam, but I once again closed it tightly and headed home. The clams were good indeed. When I got home, I got a plate and started shoveling the food onto it, whilst eating a few fries. As I took a fry, it uncovered a (what looked like to be) deep fried wasp or maybe just dead wasp that was just sitting in my food. Sadly, I had only noticed this after I had eaten the fry that was covering it and that it had likely been touching. I understand that the windows are open in the hot spring and summer and that bugs will occasionally get into the building, but working at a place where I use deep friers and prepare food similarly as well, it's not very hard to spot a bug, maybe a hair or something out of the ordinary when preparing food like this. Seems like the people here just didn't really pay much retention when preparing the food and unfortunately I got the result. After that ordeal, I grabbed what I could from around the wasp and ate what was salvaged. Unfortunately even though it had only been around 10 minutes or so since I had gotten the food, the batter encasing the clams had become soggy and not that great and the fries kind of tasted a bit too potatoey, almost like they were undercooked. All around disappointing experience and I'll only be going back if I'm in the area or am brought there by friends or family.

That settled it; we had to try it. Out of sheer excitement or exhaustion, we forgot to make a reservation. I quickly remembered this mistake as we entered Hooked. People filled every table and seat at the bar. I looked at my bestie with great concern because we were anticipating our first meal of the day. The hostess welcomed us warmly, and then she asked the dreadful question, "Do y'all have a reservation?" We sadly said no, and she immediately began to express regret. Maybe it was the "Grad2026" headband or the disappointment on our faces that caused her to have pity on us because she told us to wait one second. The hostess walked to the bar, then she went to the main seating area, lastly she went next door where there's additional seating. She returned with a smile and motioned for us to follow her. The hostess found us seats at the bar! We ordered, chatted with the locals, and ate a delicious meal. We even made room for dessert which we learned was made by the owner, the hostess! Whenever we visit New Hampshire again, we're definitely stopping by Hooked!

I was heart broken but it was my own undoing as I djdnt make a reservation. Just as I was opening yelp to find another place to try she came and got me from outside as a spot opened up! That's service! And I won't forget it. All the staff was very kind and she checked in with me several times during my meal to make sure it was going well. The ambiance is a little noisy but it's a raw bar that has sports on. The food is delicious. I could have eaten the Cippino forever! The broth was a complex delicious and perfectly spiced tomato base. The seafood was plentiful and large sized. I have never seen shrimp so big! I also ate oysters and had an amazing home made peaches and cream cheese cake. Listen I don't really like cheese cake but I could eat that cake everyday for the rest of my life. Everything from start to finish once I sat down. Was delicious and the staff was very kind. This food was fired fresh in the kitchen. I could see if from my bar seat. So if it took a little bit it was worth it! I'd eat here the next time I'm in Manchester 10/10

If there were a Hall of Fame for small fried seafood joints that never miss, Al's Seafood would…read morealready have a plaque, a laminated menu, and a line out the door - they already have a chalk menu, and during the summer, a wait for a table so we're almost there! This place is absurdly consistent. The portions are always generous, the quality is never caught lacking, and the dining room is spotless in that reassuring someone actually cares way. The staff (and it's always the same people that are there, which is cool in itself that there's no noticeable turnover in the staff) is friendly without being fake about it... efficient, pleasant, and clearly proud of what they're serving from fryers behind the soda fountains. Let's talk food, because wow. That's why you're reading this. The fried shrimp are so good that my wife (who does not like seafood) actively loves them. That alone should be printed on the menu. I've only known her to eat fried shrimp when the breading weighs more than the shrimp itself (which is not the case here). The tartar sauce is the best in North America. It's my crack. If I drank it through a straw (a bit too thick), that straw would be called a crack pipe. I literally smile writing about this tartar sauce. I will not be taking questions at this time. The "regular" fries are exactly what fries should be: crisp, fluffy, salty perfection. And the onion rings? Peak "fried seafood place" onion rings... golden, crunchy, and unapologetically doing their job, not tempura style, but old school Weathervane "fried seafood style" onion rings that you can sub in instead of fries on plates/boats for a small upcharge. Even the bathrooms are clean, which sounds like a throwaway detail until you realize how rare that is and how much it says about the place. We love it so much that we'll happily drive 40 minutes each way to eat there - in winter - because that's what you do when a place never lets you down. And despite the sign saying Al's Seafood, we tell everyone it's called "Big Al's Seafood" Not because that's the name, but because that's the energy this place has... It's not trendy. It's not trying to reinvent anything. It's just awesome, every single time and honestly, that's harder to pull off than any gimmick. Signing off... keep it up, Big Al.

Very, very surprised…read more I'm pretty particular when it comes to lobster because it's so easy to overcook, so I'm usually skeptical about ordering a lobster roll. My boyfriend and I shared the Connecticut-style lobster roll. While it wasn't overflowing with lobster especially for $29.99 it was cooked perfectly. That's not something I say often, so that's a huge compliment. I've had lobster rolls in Maine for about the same price that were much more generously filled, but the quality of the lobster here was excellent. My biggest critique would be the bun. I think this would be even better on a non-toasted bun or with a different style of roll altogether. The bun took away from what was otherwise a fantastic lobster roll. I also ordered the clam chowder. The flavor was really good, and it tasted homemade and fresh. My only complaint is that I hardly found any clams or if they were there, they were very small and blended into the soup. It also had a slight cheesy flavor that I wasn't expecting. I'd just recommend adding more clams because the base itself was delicious. The French fries were decent, and you could tell they were cooked in clean oil, which I always appreciate. The coleslaw, however, was watery and just wasn't for me. As for the atmosphere, it has a fun, old-school seafood shack vibe. You order outside, grab your food, then bring it inside to eat, and the staff clears your table afterward, which was a nice touch. The only downside was that the air conditioning appeared to be leaking in the middle of the dining room. Water dripped onto my boyfriend and even onto one of the waitresses. I'm sure it was just a maintenance issue, but it wasn't the most pleasant dining experience and did make me question how sanitary it was. Overall, I left pleasantly surprised. Despite a few areas that could be improved, the perfectly cooked Connecticut-style lobster roll is absolutely something I'd order again, and that's saying a lot coming from someone who's very picky about lobster.
