pints of fried food on an outdoor round table near a parking lot
    Hunter M.

People coming for ice cream are missing out on some of the best seafood in the state. Where else can you find deep fried scallops, perfectly tender inside with a crispy batter exterior? Fried oysters, clams, shrimp, and onion rings round out an indulgent and luxurious meal enjoyed outdoors in a no-frills, nostalgic atmosphere.

Quick, tasty and something for everyone! We had the lobster rolls, Cole slaw, and I cream cones. It was all good. I recommend the butter crunch topping on the ice cream cone which is a mixture of Jimmie's and crushed peanut brittle. Plenty of parking on site. Check the store hours though.

I travel a ton and look for great places to stop and eat. I love myself a lobster roll and read the reviews on this eatery, so decided to stop in. I have been to Maine for lobster rolls and this place doesn't come close. The lobster was good, but they take the lobster and grind it up and throw mayo in it to add more filler to the roll so you only get about 3 pieces of real lobster. We also had the fried clam roll. It was good. Batter is super thick though. For the prices, I would expect an actual lobster roll with full chunks of meat.

Had dozens of lobster rolls & never made this accusation but 95% sure their 100% lobster roll has fake crab meat. Not just tail vs. claw

I've had dozens of lobster rolls in my 29 years and I'm pretty sure (and my sister agreed) that their "100% real lobster" roll had fake crab meat. It was still tasty, but I'll be stopping somewhere else next time through Meredith to spend $15 (cash only) somewhere else. Fries were solid and service was nice though.

    Portions are very small. $4.36?

I didn't try the ice cream. The strip roll was definitely solid though. The food came out fast. I'd go back!

On our first visit, I had the Beet and Feta Salad with Grilled Salmon. It was fantastic, and one of my favorite meals of the entire trip. The salad was extremely fresh, with greens from local farmers. It was the best lettuce I've ever had, and when I tried to find out what kind it was, I wish told it was spring mix. It didn't look like any spring mix I've ever had, but it was such sweet, delicious and crunchy lettuce. The beets were also great, with both red and golden varieties. The salmon was cooked absolutely perfect. My dining partner got the Duck Confit Tacos. He did not care for that for a number of different reasons. In the first place, it should've been served on a different type of plate, as it was very messy and most of it was falling off the very narrow plate. He doesn't like a lot of mess. It likely would have been better had they left all the toppings off, to add them as you want them. There was way too much on top of the duck, which buried the taste. It was impossible to pick up, and very difficult to eat with a knife and fork. Plus they added too much cheese, and he doesn't like cheese much. It was not a dish he would order again. On our next visit, I had the Seafood Linguine. It came packed with fresh seafood with lots of mussels. It was a very generous portion, with plenty to take home for another meal. My partner had the grilled burger, which he quickly devoured. He said that was one great burger! On our next visit, we stopped in for a late lunch. It was a dreary, rainy day, and the weather was on the cool side. So we opted for soup. My partner got the Clam Chowder and I opted for the French Onion. They both hit the spot. My partner loved that burger so much, he ordered it again. I opted for a Grilled Veggie Sandwich, which was not as good as my salad choice a few nights earlier, but it was OK. All in all, we enjoyed all three of our visits here. I'd be happy to return again when in the area.

Portion sizes are pretty massive. My dining partner got the meatloaf dish. It was absolutely ginormous! We were in an Airbnb without a full kitchen, so though we took it with us, he never did eat it. It was heavily glazed with something he did not like. Had it been glazed with a little lighter hand, he probably would not have minded it. But he did not like that flavor at all. The mac & cheese was good but again heavier than he likes to eat. The seafood dish I had, on the other hand, was very good. It had plenty of pieces of lobster in it, as well as generous portions of shellfish. The broth was also excellent. As this is a pricier place, we only made one trip during our 13-day stay. It is worth a visit here, and you'll likely get enough for a second meal. There were lots of good choices on the menu. I originally thought to give this place 5 stars based on my dish, but due to the fact that my dining partner did not make any effort to eat the rest of his meal he took home because he said he didn't like it enough, that took a star away.

We were seated immediately and our drink order was taken quickly but took a long time to come out. Our appetizers came out quicker and honestly were amazing. We ordered canoe bread, grilled cheese and tomatoes, crispy orange chicken, and sweet and sour calamari. Everything was delicious and I wish we had stopped at appetizers. Next came salads; two of us asked for extra dressing and half our salad was gone before it arrived. We also had to ask for another round of drinks even though our cups were empty. Dinner took forever to come out and only six of our seven meals came out. We tried to wait for the final meal but it was taking so long and our meals were already cold, they came out cold. The final meal came out and the salmon was raw. My guess is they forgot about the salmon and tried to make it quickly. We sent it back and they literally threw it back on the grill but let the side sit. Every dinner was cold and the two steaks were over done and cold. Our waitress, Melinda, never once asked how it was. We again had to ask for another round of drinks which again took an absurd amount of time to come out. Here's the thing normally at this point I would have left but we were there celebrating my birthday and everyone wanted to stay for dessert to celebrate. Dessert was even more disappointing than our main meals. I ordered the cinnamon roll and it tasted store bought and wasn't even warmed up. Our table also ordered the carrot cake (more like half frozen spice cake), the chocolate chip lava cake (no lava), and the triple chocolate cake (meh). Again the waitress never checked in. We finally had enough and when I saw the waitress I gave her a card to run so we could be done I honestly thought it was going to take her forever to bring us the bill and luckily it didn't. $505.65 before tip. $505.65 and the majority of our meal was terrible. $605.65 after tip which was 20% and 100% not deserved. The cherry on top was a manager never came by after we sent raw salmon back and they left it on the bill. Personally I don't care so much about the money but the fact that a manager never came by is mind blowing. That's restaurant 101. I've never been so disappointed in a restaurant that truly started off so good.

The layout is somewhat strange, as there are only very small tables for two, seats at the bar, or seats at only 2 hibachi tables. There's also a choice of sitting outside in a counter-like experience on the porch (although there is a good view of the lake). So unless you're having hibachi, forget about a larger group. The food was good but timing was bad. We shared a generous portion of Shumai as an appetizer, as well as a couple of sushi rolls. All came out together, which made it so the warm rolls were cold by the time we got to them after eating our appetizer. I think they were called Ocean Breeze and Green Dragon. We came back a few nights later, and this would be our last visit. While the food was good, service was horrendous. Two of us were there for TWO hours!!! TWO hours to get an appetizer, 2 sushi rolls, and dessert. We were already tired from working a long day, and not in the mood for a two-hour meal. They said they were very busy because they have only one fryer that was backed up, which was needed for the Volcano roll that we ordered. Yes, that roll was really delicious, but not worth the amount of time it took. We made the mistake of ordering the Fried Ice Cream for dessert (it looked interesting at another table), not realizing there was still a large back up for the fryer. It took almost half an hour to get that! For this very reason, we would never ever ever go back. An irritating side note was the amount of pressure that was put on us to order a drink from the bar. Neither one of us drink alcohol or soda, and we both only wanted water with our meal. The server continually came over to push drinks on us. Even after saying we only wanted water, we were asked yet again from someone else. Once or twice, OK. 4 or 5 times is annoying. As I said, the food is good, but we will not go back again.
