I have always seen dentists and hygienists who made me feel badly about my teeth (they are very small, I have a small mouth, I grind, etc) and who seemed to imply that any dental issues I experience are my fault (grinding is not something a person can voluntarily control, and certainly I couldn't control my genetics). Dentists in the past have grabbed my face and mouth, stretched my lips apart roughly, taken X-rays in a way that cause sores in my mouth from being jabbed by the blocks that are inserted, and done injections of novocaine in a careless and painful manner. NONE OF THIS PAINFUL OR INCONSIDERATE TREATMENT HAPPENED HERE. I am so grateful for this! Dr Grover did fillings for me and fitted me for a night guard, and always followed up to make sure I was doing okay after treatments. After moving to CT several years later I reluctantly found a dentist who accepted my new health insurance and was hit with a bill for an additional $300, despite having only a cleaning done. After this experience I have decided to drive the 2 hours each way to return to Rhinebeck and see Dr Grover because her care is thorough and considerate and her FEES ARE REASONABLE. The hygienist immediately put me at ease (even under the more challenging circumstances related to Covid) and did an excellent cleaning. Dr. Richard Ross did the examination after the cleaning and answered my questions and was very knowledgable and reassuring. The entire process was painless. I broke a tooth and his office refused to give me an "emergency" appointment even though it was cutting into my cheek. I was told to put bubble gum on the tooth. Really? Absolutely crazy. I switched dentists because of this issue. Never did his office ask why I left (even when I asked for all my records). I started with a new dentist only to discover that a lot of the work Dr. Naglieri did, had to be redone (no, the new dentist wasn't doing unnecessary work). Most times Dr. Naglieri would give me novocaine and he would hit a nerve AND would have to give me a second shot. I dreaded going to the dentist. My new dentist has NEVER once hit a nerve and was shocked that my previous dentist did more times than not. I would NOT recommend Dr. Naglieri at all.

I was completely appaled at how he did his work! He seems to work his business out of what appears to be a basement to his home. BUt it isn't just that that I found intriguing. It was his workload that had me quite appaled. Anytime he does any work, he says "this may hurt a bit" or something on that line (I feel like telling him "just get the damn thing out already and stop your whining!(but I know I can't)). Moreover, what made me totally leave this practice, is the fact that he kept telling me how bad my wisdom teeth were in. He tried to emotionally convince me that my wisdom teeth were growing in sideways. He almost mandatorily made it a fact that I needed them out so bad, as he almost lined me up a $1000 bill for all 4 teeth to come out. Now, I don't mind having teeth pulled, but when the teeth weren't in my mouth and causing devastation as bad as he made it sound(and still are in my mouth today), I just stopped going there and tried other places. I know I made the right decision; the teeth he asked me to remove are still in there, except for the one tooth nearby to one of the wisdom teeth. Hold on to your cash and try someplace else. He's expensive, although at the time I left, he was able to cut me some slack on the shaving of the one tooth to a less-expensive deal(fearing he would undoubtedly loose a customer, thanks to his own advice).

When I was calling to make my appointments my calls were met by compassionate and friendly receptionists. His dental hygienist Michelle is awesome, thorough, detail oriented and really gets my mouth super clean. Dr Cingel himself is straight up AWESOME! Not only did he help me get my mouth back into shape, he also did an incredible job fixing a cosmetic issue on my front tooth making it look better than it ever looked before. For the first time in years, I smile with my teeth showing. I love Dr Cingel so much, I made it a family affair and he now also treats my son.
