Meh. There aren't a lot of choices in Ellensburg so you have to take what you can get but this is not great pizza. It is serviceable and probably won't be something you crave. I never thought I would say this but they put too much cheese on the pizza causing it to drown in grease. There aren't many tables in the lobby so I believe it is just a take and go kinda place. The front of the business is pretty cluttered. People working there were nice enough and prices are good. Parking is on street, which can be difficult to find sometimes. read more

Had to take a vehicle to Ellensburg with a neighbor, and we ordered a pie for the trip home. We had a short turn-around timeframe, so we called it in right before we dropped the car off, and by the time we showed up a few minutes later, it was hot and ready for the ride home. Solid pizzas, probably 4 or 4.5 stars for taste. No AC so a bit hot. Super affordable at $8.5 for small 12 inch and 12 for a large. They also sell by the slice and have vegan options which was great which bumps it up to a 5* for me. No frills family owned restaurant. read more

This is a hole in wall no frills place. I think there are a few seats to sit in if you want but the ambiance is not good. Order ahead and take it with you. The owner was super friendly and the pizza was delicious. This is the best pie in town no doubt. I'll be getting my pizza here. read more

Went here tonight with my roommates and will never go anywhere else in town for pizza. The service was awesome. Chris was very welcoming and we sat down to eat inside and didn't realize the time and he stayed open a little late while we finished eating, which was very kind of him. I'm from the west side and have a hard time finding pizza in my area this good, so this was a very pleasant surprise. We got a pepperoni and the bomb (Hawaiian) pizza. I appreciated how there was an extra layer of cheese added on top of the ham and pineapple which I had never seen before and made a big difference. We also got the garlic wings which were super tender and moist, good amount of meat on the wings as well. We love Chris and the pizza so will definitely be back!! read more

I'd been craving good pizza for a while and being in Ellensburg I decided to check out Dirks'. The pizza was exactly what I was craving. Great crust, generous toppings and overall amazing. What was a surprise is the reasonable prices. With the cost of dining out continuously rising, I was pleasantly surprised to see Dirks' prices were reasonably, and exceptional when you consider the quality of the pizza. The only thing I'd do different on my next visit is to order two pizzas. One to enjoy there and another to bring back home. I won't make that mistake the next time. read more

We had been hearing great things about this place for a while and finally decided to try it.... Man are we glad we did! The pizza was absolutely outstanding! There were a very generous amount of toppings and the cheese was very quality and delicious. The gluten free crust was some of the best we've ever had and the prices were extremely reasonable especially for the amount of food you got! The owner was such a nice guy and very personable. An old tiny pizza place with great pizza right on main Street. It's a big open-air place you can see the pizza oven and the prep tables. They sell soda by the can or by the 2 l. And there's just a guy banging out pizzas. I ordered the 5-pounder and I can't believe I'm going to say this but there's almost too much stuff on it. Almost! Somehow they get all this stuff on the pizza and the cross can still hold it up and it's delicious! The crust is great the toppings are fresh. I'm definitely going to try this place again and get a calzone and some other different pizzas. What a great discovery right in downtown Ellensburg. read more

Listen ya'll.. I took a break from Yelp & just reviewing in general with all the Covid stuff & some personal health stuff. I know none of this matters to the average Joe looking for a Pizza review, but I'm glad to say that Dirk's busted me out of that mundane review coma & I want to give props to to this dude running this small pizza shop. It's not fancy - it's not highly artisan gourmet pizzas. I just called in on the road traveling from Ohio to northern Washington craving something cheesy. I thought I wanted a calzone, but Dirk was nice enough to say "Hey - how about the crazy 8 instead?" The man made sure I saved some money. Not some greedy miser of a person. The dude cares about the people eating here. And the crazy 8? Pretty damned good, inexpensive & it totally hit the spot. Thank you so much Dirk for your kindness & hospitality for us bum travelers passing through. read more

While visiting my daughter we were looking for a place in Ellensburg that had gluten free pizza and this place popped up. I ended up bringing leftovers home and my sister who doesn't usually eat gluten free was blown away at how good it was. The regular crust is of course also amazing. Not only is the pizza awesome but the owner is also a real pleasure to talk with. My family in Peshastin will be driving over Blewett without question when we want the best pizza around! read more

I was just driving to Spokane from Seattle to take the SAT, and I wanted a quick lunch stop. We found dirks pizza on the way so we checked it out. I loved the feeling of a solo owned restaurant and such a home feeling. The owner (Dirk) was the most friendly and happy man I have ever met, and he definitely is happy with his restaurant. There were many posters and a nice breeze coming from the window. Me and my family sat down after ordering a couple pizzas which were not too pricy. But the best part was definitely the pizza. I got a simple chicken and mushroom pizza for $12 and that thing was HUGE. You can tell it was stuffed to the brim with chicken and it was so fluffy. I was so full after and he even offered free dipping sauce (ranch). I loved the place, and it definitely deserves more attention and customers. read more

The Swiftfired Pizza menu is extensive which makes it hard to choose - they have so many that sound good! I had to go with the PCT because as a pregnant person, I just couldn't pass up something with pickles on it. Admittedly that was the only word I saw, because I was shocked when I got it and it was covered in shredded broccoli (which is listed right there on the menu). The PCT is definitely a little different than what I was expecting, but still good. If possible, I think I'd ask for a different cheese other than provolone because that didn't mesh well in my opinion. On the simpler side, their cheese bread is delicious and their pre-packaged garden salad did a good job of giving me the veggie fix I needed. We pass through Cle Elum on the way to Leavenworth a couple of times a year at least, so I'm sure we will stop by again soon!

You have a product, you accept those forms of payment, and then you ADD a charge on because you would prefer cash? Not loving that, at all. Anyway, get the pizza back to where we are staying, open the box to find an "artisan" style pizza that is about the size of a legal pad. To add insult to injury, the toppings were very sparse and there was hardly any cheese on the pizza. If you are going to charge so much for pizza, how about not being skimpy on the toppings? I guess I am the outlier here or I should have dined in and had pasta instead of pizza. NOT impressed.

My cut of prime rib was more done than I ordered and was lacking in flavor. The doneness the establishment had control over, the taste, not so much. The corn was not very good, like it had been out too long, soft and not the best taste. The service was excellent! Our server Taylor was very attentive and worked hard to make our visit memorable. I left a tip a bit higher than what I normally would. The part though that is irritating to me is they charge a 3% credit card fee. This restaurant is equidistant between banks that I use. If I had known of this fee I could have had cash. Banking fees should be built into your pricing. $40 for a 10-12 ounce prime rib should contain enough profit to absorb the credit card fee. All in all a good meal that mostly checks the excellent box.

There was open seating in the bar, the door greeter (bartender?) handed us some menus and said we could choose our own table. Definitely understaffed for two big teams of kids & parents, many empty tables were not cleared (including ours). We were warned that the kitchen was catching up with all the orders so it might take longer than normal. We didn't mind since we wanted to have a drink first anyway. We enjoyed the spicy Bloody Mary and a yummy ceviche appetizer to start. We eventually ordered the heaping 12th Man burger; too big to eat with your hands, had to knife and fork that baby! Hubs ordered the fish tacos, fresh & crispy, no complaints. The staff was hustling, spread thin, but still amazingly friendly & efficient. We will return to try other menu items.

It came with mashed potatoes and green beans, and had Gorgonzola cheese, as well as bacon chunks and mushrooms spread all over the steak. Meat was very tender and cooked exactly like he likes it which is medium rare. Portions of everything were generous. He also got a Caesar salad which he enjoyed but would ask for light dressing on it next time since it was way too much dressing My son got a basic burger. He thought it was very good but would prefer the Patti be a little shorter and wider than taller and less wide. The sandwiches and burgers don't come with sides which is weird. So we ordered the french fries to share. They're my very favorite type - medium thickness (1cm x 1cm), long, crispy but doesn't break when you bend it and not oily at all I had the BLT with avocado and pesto aioli sandwich but I made it into a grilled chicken burger. It was very good and the bacon there is amazing. So thick but not overly greasy either. And not fatty. Amazing flavor. Plus the walls are old brick and we love brick so really enjoyed the setting Great service too. He knew the menu really well and was always there when we needed him. Very friendly. I could tell he likes his job. We will be going back!

The food arrived hot, the delivery was very quick, and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of everything except my Golden Noodles, but every item I ordered was excellent. Sugar Thai was a restaurant I…read moreused to like, but ever since its long post-pandemic closure and change of ownership, it has progressively gotten worse and worse. I'm from Los Angeles, and I have extensive experience with great Thai food. My favorite was the exceptional Tommy Tang's on Melrose. Mr. Tang had a Thai cooking show on PBS. I treasure his cookbook. There are three classic dishes I use as a review guide: Tom Kha Gai soup, Chicken Panang curry, and Pad Thai. It's hard to ruin these dishes but also difficult to do them exceptionally well. Tonight my wife and I had Tom Kha and Pad Thai. We had to throw away all of our pricey order. It was inedible. Fish sauce. I'm not a fan, but it's an ingredient used by all but the very best Thai restaurants. But most will use it sparingly. Not Sugar Thai. They have progressively added unbelievable amounts of fish sauce to nearly every dish, overpowering all other flavors. I've tried to beg the new owners to reduce or make fish sauce optional. They just look at me like I'm crazy. When I first arrived in Ellensburg in 2018, I was astonished to find a quality Thai restaurant. Not Seattle or Los Angeles quality, but still a 6 or 7 out of 10. I've probably eaten at their location at least twenty times. But no longer. I wish this new version of Sugar Thai was at least mediocre, but it has become genuinely horrible over the past two years. I can only hope that ownership will once again change hands, and quality Thai food will return to Ellensburg.
