I have used this place twice. The first time was a pleasant experience and they fixed the problem rather quickly. It was a quick fix though. I had to drive to the shop with my car to pick up the mechanic and drive him back to mthe truck that had broken down. Once he fixed the truck i had to drive him back again with my car. So the next time I had an issue I went back and same thing with my car back and forth with the mechanic. My truck broke down again. My boyfriend drives the work truck. This time the mechanic sold me an already broken piece for $500 it fixed my truck problem for less than a day! I had to get another mechanic to help me. I will NOT go back here even if last place on earth. I rather walk! read more

My favorite. These are hard working honest people. They will give you the real deal and in most cases save you big time. Plan on calling ahead, ask for Molsen (like the beer ;) and leaving your car if you can because it's not set up well for waiting. I have been to a dozen different because coming to laurel is not always convenient but I have learned my lesson. If you have a car out of warranty, this is a no brainer. PAY ATTENTION TO THE BAD REVIEWS!!! I'd give a Negative star if I could!!! I went in for an inspection for my Freightliner Commercial Truck (Tractor Trailer, Big Rig, 18 wheeler). Molsen is the owner. He'll come off as a nice experienced mechanic. He'll have cheaper prices than some of the other shops which is why they're busy. If you need quick patch work done like brakes, muffler, oil change or something small they're decent. If you're not handy or in a pinch/bind they can help you. Just don't have expectations that you can drop your car off for service. Warning! Caution! You get what you pay for! He VISUALLY inspected my truck with no tools, no paper, no inspection sheet and said I needed brakes, drums and a wheel alignment. He eventually drove the truck and told me it shakes (wheel alignment) and removed the wheels to inspect the drums. I'm sorry, he didn't remove the wheels, his tech in training did. He was training these guys on my truck in my presence! He told me the front brakes passed. He quoted me a price of $1500 for two rear axles. I declined to have him do the work because he couldn't do it that same day and he didn't have room for me to leave the truck. I get the brakes done and a wheel alignment at another location. I return and he tells me ALL the brakes needed to be done. I told him that's not what he said and that's not what he showed me. I even took the inspection report that he did, which he couldn't find and asked me to pull it up from my phone, to the shop that did my brakes and lo and behold the axle he said needed brakes was within spec to pass inspection. I eventually get brakes and drums installed on all axles (almost $2300) and return for re-inspection. He VISUALLY looks at the brakes without taking the tires off, doesn't even look at the front axle brakes, and then tells me I have two clearance lights out. As an inspector he is to reference the previous inspection report to see if I made the corrections to the items that failed. No where on the report did he put that two lights were out nor did he mention it. He tells me to go buy the lights and hurry because he's only staying for an hour. I drive all the way from Laurel to Freightliner in Landover, drive back with the lights, showing him that I purchased them in hopes that he'll say ok you're good just put them on ASAP and you're good to go. No! He says what took you so long and proceeds to give me a pocket screwdriver and says it's easy to change and go change it. While parked on the shoulder on Route 1 in front of his shop, I climb on the hood of the semi and attempt to change the lights. The screwdriver is too small and the screws are actually torx screws. He tells me to back my truck in the CROWDED driveway and to get a screwdriver from the other mechanic. The other mechanic is busy with another customer, whom which I blocked in and now has to leave. I pull the truck back onto Route 1 and park it. I go back to Molsen after he finishes using his forklift to place a large cumbersome metal object into another customers pickup and he tells me to move the truck again. I told him no and he says OK I'm done and walks away. I've been going back and forth with Molsen since 7:30AM it was now approaching 12:00PM. I got tired of his poor customer service and refused to let him continue to jerk me around. He's unprofessional, has poor customer service, poor attitude, he comes off as if he's doing you a favor even though you are paying for a service and he'll tell you one thing and then something else the next time. I eventually attempt to change the lights with MY OWN tools and what do you know they're not even blown out. They just needed be cleaned. read more

I knew after I got off the phone with this guy that I wouldn't like him. He was extremely abrasive, unprofressional and was hurrying me off the phone. When I got to the location the parking lot was filled beyond capacity and I was unable to pull in. I called trying to figure out how/where to park and he told me to "figure out a way." My sister told me to call back and I knew that if I did I would end up cussing him out so I asked her to call. During the course of their conversation he hung up on her twice. When I finally pulled into the parking lot (my sister had to remain parked in the street) he looked at the front of my car and when he didn't see any damage he said with a disgusted look on his face what is the problem. I said well if you had given me a chance to show you and proceeded to walk to the rear bumper where the damage was. My sister then asked him why he hung up on her and was rude on the phone and he came up with some stupid excuse saying he was on the other line and that there was two lines which had nothing to do with anything. When she was trying to talk he kept yelling at her, interrupting her, ignoring what she was saying and then told us he wasn't going to look at my car and walked back into the shop. That is not how you conduct business. He didnt even introduce himself to us. I don't even know his name. Should've just listened to my gut and not even gone to this place. read more

Went in for brake AND muffler issues. Quote was slightly less than i was quoted at previous shops. I had the brakes done on the spot and scheduling to get the muffler fixed next week. Great to have a reasonably priced local mechanic that doesn't beat around the bush and I don't have to second guess every time I have an issue. Front exhaust pipe in my car had a whole in it. I bought a new pipe online and went to this place for replacement. They gave me $120 estimate in labor cost. During replacement they found one bolt broken. They told me about this broken bolt. Also told me that they have to drill it for new bolt and they are going to charge me extra. It took about two hours to complete the job and they charged me $200. When I was on the road I noticed that the exhaust pipe was vibrating and there was loud buzzing sound inside the car. I thought it might be due to after markete part. Another problem I faced was whenever I was driving over speed breaker or hump on the road the exhaust pipe was hitting it hard. I was sure that this problem was due to wrong installation. I observed the car from underneath and noticed that the exhaust pipe hanger was installed in wrong direction. I went back to this place and complained about this problem. This time I had to face the second owner (His name is Musa) of the place. He was looking very unhappy and blaming his brother (first owner) for charging me so less. He was not willing to listen about the problem, repeatedly inturpting me and giving me strange excuses. Saying this problem is due to bad engine mount and then said its shocks are not good. I tried to convince him that it is due to wrong installation of exhaust pipe hanger but he stubbornly kept on giving me other excuses. When I insisted again and again, he agreed to lift the car up with a warning that if it is not there fault, he is going to charge me. When the car was lifted up and he found it was their fault his mouth was shut. After reinstallatin of hanger everything was back to normal, even there was no vibration noise. What I learnt here that if you do not keep your eyes open you are at the mercy of ignorant people like Musa. You go to shop to fix one problem and return with another one. read more

Molson (the owner) tells it like it is (no bs and no upselling). They give an honest estimate and they always explain exactly what's wrong and the options available. This is my first time to this repair shop. Had a broken/leaking brake line (basically no brakes) on my wife's 2000 Sonata and they made the time the same day to get me in the shop and repaired it for a reasonable price. They are busy but work quickly and keep you informed as to your service choices. If one of our cars breaks down in the future, this is where I will bring them. beware please!!! do not listen to the other reviews they are lies!!! check automd for the real reviews for this shop!!! i came here 4 months ago because i was referred to molsen, a guy who does transmission work and first off, the customer service was terrible! guys walking away too busy to answer a question and when you let them know who you're looking for all you get is "he's coming just hold on." mind you i'm here from pennsylvania and it's an emergency i need a new transmission asap to get back home so i can get to work! messing with these guys instead of a quality aamco down the road was a judgement error on my part. they end up taking 3 days to install the transmission when aamco would have took 1!!! i miss 4 days of work for them to install a used transmission that today i am now finding out has the exact same problem as the one they took out of my car!!! on the way there i clearly see one of their employees playing speedracer in my car down route 1 a well know area for cops to give tickets!!! on top of that upon leaving the facilty the transmission reacted the same as before they replaced it but i had no time to argue with them about it if i wanted to save myself at work!!!! about $1600 and a 3 month warrenty for something to last just outside of the warrenty and for them to get some easy money from a first time driver. oh and they added a new axle to my car without my permission for an additional $130 and left many parts in my car unscrewed and loose!!! stay away from here everyone please! i will do everything in my power to make sure that no one experiences the same losses as i did that day! read more
