staff are mostly pleasant for years I've never really seen anyone terribly upset about working there. but today I ordered a delivery for the first time ever because it was free supposedly when I checked out a lot of the prices jumped automatically complete scam fraud they should be ashamed of themselves this is not just a store but every store. I'm just buy six get this off and buy five and four who needs all that not single or couples only accommodating at all it's ridiculous try it yourself supposedly free delivery for February 2nd after the price jump on checkout. avoid pre-cut deli meats counter where they pre-cut the meat and put it in bags because they hide bad cuts of meat inside of good cuts of meat I couldn't really put myself. questionable vegetable quality. read more

This is a horrible store. Employees are rude. In line that checks out alcohol and cigarettes but also groceries. Tried to check our early around 9 am. No one checking out folks but him. Argued with me the entire time he was checking me out. Put 3 items back on side but he grabbed those 3 items and angrily told me he would do his job.and return those items. Seems to me he is not customer oriented and needs to stock rather than check out items. I'll never ever step into this store again. I give them an F. PERIOD! The trick you when they have sale prices. Never rings up correctly at the register. Then you have to either ask for the price or have them change it or prove it some how. You feel like a real mooch By the end of the transaction. Just go to Kroger across the street. read more

Very disappointed! Curbside pickup customers beware! Be sure and check your receipt and your order because if they changed your order for a smaller quantity than what you ordered you will still be charged for the larger quantity. Ordered a specialty cake for a 4 year old's birthday and was extremely upset when my sister picked it up and sent me the picture. I immediately called and cancelled the second cake I had ordered for pick up on New year's eve. Called to speak to the store manager and he huffed and puffed as if he was bothered. I love a good salad bar! Since there is no salad-centric restaurant anywhere close, the salad bar at Giant Eagle is next to par. I don't ever shop here (the prices are much higher than Kroger), thus anytime I'm Checking In, it's do to a decent appetite for veggies! The bar offers three types of lettuce: Spinach, romain and regular ice burg. The toppings vary depending on time of day I get there, and what the store has in the back to offer. The fruit at the end of the bar is a hit or miss, some days it's wiped clean dry by the time I make it in. Other days, a decent assortment of ripe watermelon, cantaloupe and honeydew melon are my personal favs. read more

I have only been here once, and that is ALL it takes. I picked up a special order birthday cake for a kids birthday party (which was good, nice moist). As soon as I was 20 feet in the door, I was punched in the face and gut by the seafood smell! The unfresh, days old lingering seafood smell! I understand that seafood does have a 'special' scent, however it shouldn't be so over powering that you're nauseated within seconds of being in the store. Other than that, they store appeared to be well kept, and fully stocked, however I will not be making a return visit. read more

My only issue with Giant Eagle is they never have enough registers open. I see them and a ton of other places are hiring and they all need the help. Other than that, great location and associates always ask if I need any help. Always clean and what I need here I can find pretty easily! read more

Ok so this review is 2 months late but I did not want to end the year with this undone. Our Hamilton Road Giant Eagle could not fill a large order of chicken due to games. This was a surprise as we have been ordering there for a few years, never had a problem. We called Pickerington GE and were told no problem. These guys were the best. My order was ready when I got there. They got carts for me to load up,told me to pull my car up and packed my truck. What the What? Great people, great service. If you ever need to cater an event, this is your go to caterer. read more

Probably the only store in the area the doubles coupons (up to 99 cents). They also offer free or discounted items weekly using their eVantage card. You can earn free tanks of gas by purchasing groceries and gift cards. Like other grocery stores, I recommend shopping the ad for best pricing. They also offer a hot bar , salad bar, deli and bakery. A dozen doughnuts are $5 on Friday. read more

Being relatively new to the area, Dayton does not have Giant Eagle supermarkets, however I have come to be a fan of the grocery chain. I think the store has pretty decent prices (deli meats can get expensive) and I love how they have labeled each section for ease of location...except for the mashed potatoes...I had difficulty finding them next to the meat section. Other than that, it is a fine place to shop. 4/5 stars read more

I keep asking my wife to shop at a Giant Eagle. I'm disabled so she does everything for me. She tells me that they are too expensive. However, I remember when I was able to shop Giant Eagle may have been a little more expensive than Kroger, but you're paying for quality. Given the opportunity that means a lot to means a lot to me. Now is Giant Eagle more expensive than Kroger? Is there a true side by side comparison? I mean of name brand items and not store brands. That way you can have a true test. To me Giant Eagle is the closet to the old Big Bear stores. Now this posting isn't a complaint or even a compliment. I merely wanted to say that I wish we could shop at Giant Eagle. read more

Amazing remodel of the Giant Eagle off of 256! The deli is fantastic and the new soap bar is really cool.

Giant Eagle's new deli is really delish--a new alternative for "fast food." We tried a pizza roll and a mini calzone. Their fried chicken is cooked perfectly, and really great for a picnic. The sushi is surprisingly tasty, especially for a grocery store. read more

Birthdate required to buy matches. at your store (873 Refugee Road Pickerington, OH 43147.) I'm 71 years old. I took a package of stick matches to the self service register and had to wait for an employee. I was told that I had to be 18 yrs old to buy matches. She cleared the machine and a new screen came up and then she asked me for my birthdate. Month, Date, and Year. I buy beer all the time at this store and my birthdate is not required, they only are concerned that I am old enough. I told the lady that I will not give my birthdate for a book of matches and I left the store and went to Krogers and bought the matches there, with no delay waiting for some to verify that I am over 18. Not only that the same type matches were 30 cents less expensive. I have been a Giant Eagle customer for years and I want to tell them that collecting every tiny little bit of my personal information is NOT acceptable to me. Unless you can tell me your self service check out has been fixed and that my birthdate is not required and your employees have been instructed as to how to protect the privacy of your customers... Until that time I am NO LONGER A GIANT EAGLE CUSTOMER. A copy of this email will be sent to my extended family and friends warning them of your suspicious practice of gathering their personal information. Giant Eagle called me after I sent this and I was told it was company policy. I asked why I can buy beer without giving my birth date? He had no answer... I explained that I went across the street to Krogers and bought the matches with no problems. I told him that they have lost a customer that used to spend between $400 and $500 a month over their STUPID policy and I hung up. read more

Giant Eagle (used) to be our store since its opening, but the new management and/or whatever is going on there is very dis-sappointing. The shelves are actually dirty..and limited or empty.; the customer service girls are zero friendly.and I mean zero! Where are the old gals that used to work there?! Oh, that's right, bad management, yes, employees leave. What happened to our old Giant Eagle? I am now heading to Krogers and it's a pain, but they are better serviced. Giant Eagle..get your store together again. I paid more to shop Giant Eagle in the past, but the experience was worth it. No longer valid. YOu lost a very long time patron. I usually love Giant Eagle, HOWEVER, I am done. The other day I TRIED to run in quickly for Qtips and use the self check out- my what should have been 3 minute in and out turned into 12 minutes all do to the fact of, what the self checkout employee said to be a 'security feature'. Apparently you cannot use the self check out without your Giant Eagle card. That is completely insane. Isnt the point of self check out to be speedy and not have to wait for the cashier- I ended up having to wait for a 'courtesy scan'- Damnit, If i do not want to use my Giant Eagle card, I shouldn't have to, just completely ridiculous. read more
