Meijer has been an institution in the mid-west since the 1930's when Dutch immigrant Hendrik Meijer began what we know today as the "superstore" in mid-Michigan. They really overdid it with this store. It's massive, one of the biggest I've ever seen. It's drop dead gorgeous, too. Very clean. It looks like they have every product in the world in there. Once in a while you'll find a bare shelf, but they generally work quickly to fill those gaps. I don't recommend produce from here. Too many instances where it starts to turn after only a day at the house. Watch the scanner when ringing up your goods. I resorted to taking a photo of every price of every item I purchase. Even a few discrepancies is too many. I've also noticed a type of bait and switch by where a larger size package of the same product sits behind a sale sign advertising the smaller version. What then happens is you take the larger, more expensive item to check-out thinking you have the item that's on sale. End result? They push more of the larger size since they probably ran out of the stuff that's on sale. I watch to make sure it's not the other way around. That would be criminal and illegal. I have used Meijer for the last four deliveries I've had. Each and every time it was a great experience! The delivery people and shopper text you throughout their shopping for your order and for delivery. The service is called.Script or Shipt I can't remember which one it is I was apprehensive at first, but we just moved to Columbus and didn't really know our way around so it seemed logical to try that horrible Walmart on Main Street. After that experience, I went directly to Meijer. The delivery fee is eight dollars but when you use perks, you can get delivery for free along with other great rewards I shopped the other day with an $80 order and after perks and discounts my bill was $38. I normally love this store, but was let down today. Sunday afternoon and the shelves and meat departments are bare? Where are the stockers? I like to visit this location due to it being close and convenient, but today and several times before I have been disappointed in the selection. Chicken was bare, multiple canned goods were not available. I know COVID is placing a strain on everything, but I know this can't be the case as other markets are stocked and have plenty of meats. I asked the butcher if they had any chicken in the back, he came back with a box full of thighs. He was very helpful; however, if they have stock, it should be on the floor available to purchase. The store did not seem overly crowded or so busy that stocking could not be completed. Overall, I will continue to shop here, but wish they would get their act together! read more

Well, I'll start with the Home side of the store. I've found some good quality clothes here. Good brands that generally hold together well. Too many places' plus size section revolves around "old people's tastes", thus current fashion trends is not in their equation. However, Meijer's plus-size section is usually a positive hodgepodge. The grocery section covers it all. Basically, Walmart but better quality. I've yet to spend the time and fill out/ ask for their M Perks saving card. But, the store does have their own brands, so one can usually save some, buying Meijer stuff. My one tiff with this store? How rude I was treated, when I was taking a few pictures of the interior (so I could put them on their Yelp page). The lady, quite crass and rude, asked me what I was doing. Told her, and she continued, without a breath, telling me that I couldn't take pics of the store, threaten that they would take away my phone. Wow :( fortunately, I complied and walked away before she had the chance to continue grilling me. read more

After so many frustrating half deleted shipt orders because out of stock on everything, still had to end up going to Walmart for my stuff. I have completely stopped coming here and now I do the nice curbside pickup at the lancaster Walmart. Been using that for months and never once anything out of stock. Not sure what happened here but it's way after the Covid thing and they still don't stock anything! For some reason today for the first time in maybe 5 months I tried shipt again at this Meijer and of course the shopper immediate starts firing off out of stock out of stock out of stock. I said just refund everything they don't have and I'm just heading to Walmart again. Don't know why I even tried. TERRIBLE STORE and such a shame it used to be my fave. read more

This is the 3rd and last time I've tried placing a curbside pickup at Meijers, Canal Winchester. Each time it's been a disaster! 1st time many items missing, second time their charge card system went down, 3rd time I ordered curbside & after we drove their we received a text indicating it would be delivered at 9:00 PM, then 10:00 PM, then 11:00 PM and then the next day. If you want to call to cancel, you can not! I was on hold for 2 hrs. & no one answers their "customer care" line. Customer care! What a joke! This Meijer is the place where my wife and I shop for groceries. Overall, the place is a generic Meijer, but their product is much better than Giant Eagle. The ladies who work in the Cheese department are very friendly, and just had a discussion on Muenster cheese on my last visit there. I also find the quality and taste of Meijer's meat to be much better than Giant Eagle or Kroger. Overall, I am the Duke (for now) of this Meijer location and I will continue to shop there as long as it exists! 5/5 stars read more

Ordered a sterling silver ring for my gf...they said it would take 6-8 weeks to arrive and they would call when it came in. During week 6,7, and 8 we checked to see if it was in and every time they told us not yet. It wasn't until week 12 that someone finally informed me that they couldn't order the ring because they changed their ordering system. So they held my $200 for 12 weeks and I got nothing but a headache in return. I tried to talk to the general manager but they basically said "sorry about your luck." I like this better then Walmart! They have a good vegetarian/vegan food section; pretty much from beauty to baby stuff, to movies has a good section. The employees are nice and helpful plus more registers are open and the self-checks are a lot better here. read more

I went to the Canal Winchester Ohio pharmacy yesterday to pick up my RX and after seeing the cost I decided to have them transferred to Kroger as I am a member of the rx program. Kroger called me and said that my blood pressure medicine rx had expired. I told them that was impossible because it was filled and ready for purchase the day before at Meijer, but I would take care of it. I then called Meijer pharmacy and spoke with Matt the pharmacist and he told me the same thing and kept saying sorry, sorry and then abruptly said -your going to have to hold and never came back on the line. When I got home I looked at my bottle and it said the refills were good until 9-2020. I called Meijer back and when the call was answered it was "hello"- I said is this Meijer and he said yes it is Matt, I inquired about what my bottle said and he said it was no longer good. After an argument he said oh yeah you do have a refill and he would call it into Kroger. I am so angry with this customer service and I will now take ALL of my rx out of Meijer. My husband and I have been going here since they opened and I am now pulling all my RX out. That is poor business and this individual is not good for the company. Sorry Meijer, you need better training for pharmacists on customer service. On a good note- Heather is the best pharmacist and kindest you have. Give her a raise read more

Went here today and it's safe to say I will only go back if I am forced. My mom and I went into Meijer hoping to stock up on seasonal Mrs. Meyer's cleaning products, however, when we got there they were out of everything except the candles. There was a red phone right by the end cap where the display was located. I picked up the phone to ask about when more product may arrive. The associate I spoke with in the phone said trucks come in every night, but instructed me to go to the service desk to get a rain check for the items we wished to purchase. My mother and I decided to go ahead and purchase the candles, but in our way to heck out we ran through the dairy dept, because I had a coupon for free vegan butter to try. Unfortunately, for me, they were out of the butter. With a practically empty cart, we headed to the customer service desk. Upon arrival there were no employees present. After flagging down someone to help us, a teenage kid leafs through the ad to see the cleaning products we described needing a rain check to purchase at a later date. I showed the young man pictures on my phone I had taken of the empty shelves with the stickers for the products. I also showed him the product in sale via the meijer app on my phone. The young man then tells us that even though the product is on sale, since it isn't in the weekly ad he is unable to write us a rain check. He then proceeds to say that he has no idea who we could have spoken to via the red phone to have been told that. To make a long story short, Meijer wasted a lot of our time and wasn't very accommodating to the customer. Plus to top it off, when we went to leave the parking lot was dark. I like the selection of gluten free items, the produce, and the variety of products. I rarely venture outside of the grocery department because I don't often find a good deal with housewares, electronics and whatnot. I bought 2 gallons from the refill machine with .39 cent per gallon. It tastes slightly "light" as soon as it came out of the machine. After 4 hours, the water tastes like chlorine. This confirms that the water from Meijer refill machine is crap, full of chemicals - probably as bad as Pickerington or Fairfield tap water. Do not buy the water from their water refill machine. read more

If I could give 0 I would! I was harassed in the parking lot by some angry lady to move my car while my girlfriend was walking out of the store to get in my car. The lady got the manager and she told me to I had move my car as was starting to pull away. I'm 99.9% sure this had alot to do with race. I'm mixed I am half white but I dont look it, and I can tell when I'm being profiled. I felt violated I was born in Columbus Ohio but at this meijer I was treated like an unwanted foreigner! This is the best thing in Ohio in regards to Department stores. It's not the clutter of Walmart and not the cookie cutterness of Target. Meijer is perfect. Great prices, great discounts, great products, it's the best thing I live near. And the store brand items are just as amazing as generic. The only miss is that its located in Canal Winchester, a very uptight and snooty sometimes racist community. So they have a tendency to stare at you, be rude and make you feel less than them. I don't know why because they're lower middle class white people. But if you have tunnel vision, you can really enjoy this place. It's my fave!!! read more
