Made an appointment and arrived on time only to stand in line for 20 minutes. Very frustrating as they answer all phone calls and make appointments and answer all questions from the phone calls very quickly. Even answering calls and giving prices for new tires whiles multiple customers stand in line. But once you arrive, all customer service becomes like slow motion. So what should have been a 30 minutes appointment took over two hours. This is my second time to experience this lack of customer service. I spoke with a manager who was very dismissive. I highly recommend making an appt and ordering ahead. I had an appt and arrived 10 mins early as requested. Unfortunately, had to wait in line to check in until 15 mins after my appt time. The facility is nice, clean and new. There are seats for waiting but no comforts - TV, vending, coffee, or desks to work, with outlets. There are now no restaurants next door but not too far away if you can walk .3 miles. There is small fridge w bottled water but no signage to know if it's only for employees or if comp for guests too. I waited in my truck until they called me around to change the tires on my RV. The driveway was easy enough to pull in a 35' fifth wheel. Took another 30 mins waiting for someone to signal me to pull around the building to in front of the first bay. They were fast enough working once started. I pulled out around 2.5 hours past my appt time. The value is the best I found when shopping for tires. All in all it was a fine experience. read more

We were in a rental car driving back to Indiana when our tire wasn't holding air. We went to Discount tire where Tom waited on us. He was very pleasant and told us it would be about an hour but he would help us. We wound having a bent rim, Tom sealed it and said we should be ok getting back to Indianapolis but keep an eye on it. The customer service was lacking, as I waited over an hour before anyone addressed me or my request to remove my wheel lock. When I expressed my concerns, I was asked to leave, which felt inappropriate. Got a flat last night. I was rockin' the spare but I figured you know, I should probably take care of that. I'd been to Discount in the past and they were awesome. I saw on Yelp that you could make an appointment online so I did that and got a spot at 4pm for the same day. Score! I went at 4 and they took me right away. We went to my car together and I told them what happened and we went over everything. They pulled the old tire out of my trunk and we immediately saw the hole. It was pretty sizable but they said they could repair it which was awesome. I was told it would be about an hour so I walked over to Panera a couple of doors down and got a snack and a beverage to wait. They have a text system that gives you updates on the status of your car which is awesome. I watched it go from waiting, to in the repair bay, to ready. I walked back over (less than an hour, actually) and went inside to grab my keys. Since it was a minor patch they didn't charge me! I protested but they told me it was something they do all the time which I thought that was so nice. Yesterday when I had a flat and was stuck for 3 hours waiting for a truck I was SO stressed. But today they made the final bookend of that crappy time totally not awful! Thanks, Discount Tire! Come here for a patch or a whole new set of tires. This is now my new go-to Discount Tire location. It's a little bit of a schlep for me, however the last few visits to the DT closer to home were a travesty. Seasonal tire changes, with an appointment, with tires already on wheels should be a quick in and out. And here... miraculously... it was! It's clear that DTs all around the region are woefully understaffed. I am sure it is as frustrating to those working there as it is to those who come in for service. For all that is good and holy, do not show up without an appointment. You will be there all day, if.... and that's a pretty big if... they have the bandwidth to solve your tire issue. I do wish there was an express line for those with appointments, as I have seen at other DTs in the past. That way I could be spared some of the stress and anxiety of listening to person after person ahead of me in line being told the bad news about how long it would take to be seen. The tire tech did forget to reset the the pressure sensors in the tires, however I have started to realize this is a thing that is often overlooked. So I asked before driving away, and he was able to take care of it on the spot. Which was great, because I did not have to return for a "quick" issue and try to pop in without an appointment. Do. Not. Pop. In. Without. An. Appointment. Ever. Full Stop. I pray DT gets the staffing help they need, or raises their hourly wage to draw in more employees. We just switched to Discount Tire after 50 years with Belle Tire because of Discount Tire's more stable management tenure, and the excellent, responsive customer service. Senior assistant store manager, Tiger, and the store manager, Matt, were both outstanding. First, Tiger responded to my quote request promptly, and knowing that I was getting quotes from multiple dealers, gave me his best out the door quote the first time. Second, when I first contacted Tiger, he expressed "wanting to earn my business"--which he did. Third, when Tiger was going to be out of the office, he let me know of his boss Matt's availability for follow up. Fourth, the tires came in two days earlier than expected, and were installed in less than 30 minutes after arrival. Fifth, both Tiger and Matt are very knowledgeable about tires. Matt (store manager) has personally been involved in tire testing on the track, and so his expertise is based on personal testing experience, not just online test results. Finally, both Tiger and Matt expressed appreciation for my business and a desire to continue an ongoing business relationship. I started going to Discount Tire because the Belle Tire in Plymouth tried to rip me off. I went in with a flat and they told me I needed a new tire. When I told them I was going to try another place, the scumbag working there put the tire and the rim on the ground in the parking lot, and shut the bay door on me. They didn't even put the tire back on the rim. . When I took the tire down to Discount Tire, like 15 minutes later, they said it was fixable and patched it for free. They even put the tire back on the rim and hung it back up on the back of my jeep. They didn't even charge me. While the kid was lug-nutting it back onto the spare tire thing on my jeep, I asked why it was free and the kid told me they like to help people. I told him Belle Tire lied and said the tire was irreparable and he said, "I'm not surprised. They do that." Belle Tire DOES do that. They rip people off. And they get angry if you try to stop them from ripping you off. Never go there. Go to Discount Tire. They won't screw you like Belle Tire will. Now that you have read this, if you go to Belle Tire and they rip you off like they tried to rip me off, you deserve it. read more

No integrity. When in for a rotate and balance. Came out with new 20 solid lug nuts for $176. It's a Ford truck, not a Ferrari. Apparently, Ford lug nuts have chrome covers and are easy to damage. The A2 store brought this to my attention while I was up on the rack. Their solution was to sell me replacements for $176. Interesting. I later found out the national cost at Discount Tire was $80. When I returned to the Texas Discount Tire, I was told I was grossly over charged and they refunded the full $176! Beware, this location puts profit ahead of customers. read more

Let me tell you the way they take care of each individual patiently giving each person the attention that they need with looking at peoples tires to looking in the computer for the best deals they can find and just simply taking the time to take care of you is beyond amazing I for one was so stressed out after leaving Goodyear due to needing an alignment which turned into needing two rims and two tires and them trying to charge me 500$ per rim which I knew was not right I left after they told me there was nothing they could do for me since I wouldn't buy 500$ rims from them drove down the road to discount tire and they sold me rims for 140$ a piece I couldn't have been any happier what a deal! For a Yukon rims are not cheap but I wasn't going to sit and settle for the first number thrown at my face! My car was overdue for a tire rotation, so I scheduled an appointment online with Discount Tire based on the great reviews. Wow! I couldn't have asked for a more seamless experience. I was immediately greeted by Justin, who assessed my tires. I stayed in the store as the mechanics did their thing, and the waiting area was spotless. My car was brought to the front door once everything was done. I was in and out of the store in less than 30 minutes. I waited a really long time for service, trying to get a leaky tire switched out for a replacement I had already purchased elsewhere. The guy apparently got confused and rotated my tires, then when we sorted that out, must have replaced the new front right tire, rather than the one that was actually leaky, because after four hours, I still have a leaky tire. we ordered tires for our fifth wheel and brought in our old tires and wheels to have the new ones mounted, when i called to make an appointment I specifically told them we wanted to keep the old tires, and when my husband dropped them off made sure to specify that we wanted to keep the old tires for spares. When they called to tell me the tires were ready to be picked up I said ok and you have the old ones as well and they said yes. When we picked up the tires they gave us the new mounted tires, but the old ones were not there. When asked they said that we paid for disposal of the tires and why woykd they keep old tires. this was mind blowing to me after multiple conversations of us wanting to keep the old tires. I made an appointment to have a leaking tire fixed. Although they did a great job at fixing the tire. They clearly did not take the time to balance the tire as is required anytime you remove tire from the wheel. So as soon as I got on the highway I noticed how much more pronounced vibration while driving. They created a problem that didn't exist prior to my visit. Now I have to drive all the way back to the store for another hour or 2 of sitting in the parking lot well they correct the error. read more

I've been taking my family's cars to Discount Tire since the 1970's. Over the last few years there has been a definite decrease in the quality of the service at my local stores near Ann Arbor (Carpenter Road and Jackson Road). Here are the good things: 1. Their prices are competitive 2. Their staff is friendly and polite and try to be helpful 3. Their policies are solid regarding fixing damaged tires and the like if you buy their tire "certificates". The problem is that the quality of their work has really dropped and their follow through especially regarding checking things when they are done with their work before giving the car back to the customer is very lacking. Whenever I bring my car in now for some kind of tire service or purchase I pretty much have to count on returning to the store at least 3 times because of problems they should have noted the first time. These problems include tires losing pressure or going flat once I get home because they were mounted improperly, tire pressure sensors not being installed or set properly, tire pressure not being set at proper values, wheel caps (hubcaps) not being fully mounted in place so that I have to go around and knock them firmly into place, tires not balanced properly the first time, etc.. On one occasion I got home to find that the wheel bolts were not screwed in completely on a wheel. To me this speaks to poor training, management, and quality control. Each return trip to the store sucks up between an hour and 3 hours of my time. At this point I just can't continue to waste these hours of my life and will be changing tire stores. I have informed each store of the problems and they admit they are having them. Hopefully they will fix them. read more

So disappointed in the staff at this Ann Arbor location. My daughter went in to get her tires rotated and somehow one of the technicians knocked the driver window off its track. She noticed before she left & they helped her get it closed temporarily. It was the end of the day & they obviously just wanted to get out of there. They told her she'd have to take it to a to window repair shop & tell them they'd(discount tire) would pay for it then sent her on her way. Well obviously you can't just take your car somewhere & tell them to send the bill to discount tire, no one is going to go for that. I have called discount tire multiple times & have left messages for the manager and he has not gotten back with me. Every time I call I just am given the run around. No one will address the issue or put me through to the manager directly. The technician even admitted to accidentally knocking the window off track. Now we have a repair for over $300 for something we didn't even do. I definitely feel like they took advantage of a young girl, such bad business. read more

I took my car there for an alignment and the technician severed the cable going to my abs sensor. Manager would not refund the alignment or fix the problem. They wanted a $150 for a $35 sensor they broke. Car went in with no lights on the dash lit up and I was given the car back with 3 dash lights lit up. I immediately went to the service desk and asked what was wrong. They pulled my car in and 5 minutes later walked me back. The manager pointed to the abs cord which was severed. The service tech said he didn't do it and had no idea if any lights on the dashboard were lit up. The service manager (Mike) told me his "tech" couldn't possible have broken the cord and told me to contact corporate. So while replacing the ridiculously easy $35 dollar sensor myself and looking up alignment adjustments I realized (1) the tie rod the tech adjusted is about 6 inches away from a hanging abs sensor cord on any honda odyssey (2) the tech would have noticed a severed abs cord hanging in his face while adjusting the tie rod so to have no idea what was going on is ridiculous (3) neither that tech or the manager I talked to have any business working on cars. The manager literally laughed at me and told me to call corporate. So I filed with the BBB and I am reaching out to corporate. Also most Belle Tires have a F with the better business bureau. read more

Now that I have new tires on my car I feel I can write a review on my service here. First red flag should have been when I showed up to get my tires the rep told me "oh your tires didn't come in on time so we are upgrading you for free." When I picked up the car, they were literally the tires I asked for, the cheapest ones which were Arizonian brand. Then I constantly had low tire pressure, and it wasn't just the sensor being sensitive they were visibly low. One tire went flat multiple times and when I would take it in I was told more than once I needed a whole new wheel. I took it somewhere else to have the wheels looked at and they were fine. They never did repairs on the tires that were low just filled them and sent me on my way. Only for them to go flat again in 2-3 weeks. The tires were completely bald at 30k miles (with a 50k mile warranty) but bald unsafe tires are not covered under the warranty, basically just your tire exploding while driving is covered. So I had to replace two of them to leave the lot with my car. And I had to pay for them. There are a bunch of fees you aren't told about like a disposal fee which was not cheap. My garbage arizonian tires ended up costing me over $650 (not including the two I had replaced) with constant problems and leaks that went un-repaired. I just had a much better brand of tires put on my car elsewhere for less than that. So there's zero discount here. I felt that they treated me like I was an idiot because I am a woman, with "free upgrades" and "entire wheel needs to be replaced" when even now the tire shop I went to said my wheels are fine. And when l told one man I didn't think my wheel needed replacing and that It was the tire, he got irritated with me. My review probably doesn't mean much but look into some other options when getting your new tires, especially as a woman. read more
