TL;DR Big O Tires Inexperienced mechanic falsely diagnosed issue requesting replacement of all 4 tires. Went to Discount tire who accurately found the issue and fixed for free. I first went to Big O Tires in Lakewood with one tire that was low, my sensor showed it to be front left. When examined by the tech, he appeared to take the tire pressure, then noticed a "nail" and attempted to see if air was leaking. The nail looked like just a piece of gravel. He was not confident with his diagnosis and thought my rim could've been cracked too but not sure. Said I needed to replace all four tires. I knew something wasn't right so I took my car to Discount Tire. Turns out the back left tire was the culprit, had a nail in it and my sensors for my left front/rear tires were swapped. They took me immediately, patched up the hole from the nail, and checked my other tires. All at no cost! I'd recommend the Discount tire in Arvada off of Wadsworth. read more

OMG Tristan was a LIFESAVER today! I was at Costco and noticed my back tire was low. Tried to fill it at costco but apparently it was too low to safely fill. Went over to Discounts free tire fill and same thing, the pressure was too low to safely fill. All the while I have tons of Costco groceries in the car! He said there were 13 people ahead of me in line. But it wasn't safe to drive on and wasnt safe to fill! Conundrum! UPDATE: brought to managers attention and they corrected it immediately. Come in for routine tire rotation on the tires this shop sold me. 2nd time in. I drive a Superduty with 60psi in front and 80psi in rear. They fail to fill tires to spec, or reseat the TPMS sensors so the truck is reading the wrong PSIs in the wrong tire. They also never did a correct rotation and simply moved all tires one place to the right in a clockwise fashion. On top of that, some guy thought that jacking up a 4ton truck by the shock mount was the smart thing. Would've been a five star visit except when I got back to pick up my car they had parked it in the Shell Customer parking lot next door where it explicitly says if you're not a Shell customer and you park there you'll get towed. What made it worse is that a gasoline semi truck had pulled up behind my car so I couldn't leave. I had to wait an additional 30 to 45 minutes for the semi truck to finish what it was doing and move after I had already waited an hour and a half to get my tires changed. I went to the store in person to schedule my appointment, and at no point did the employee inform me that you don't do alignments. When I arrived on the day of the appointment, I was told last minute that you don't perform alignments and only swap tires. That was already frustrating, because it means that even if I changed the tires there, I would still have to waste more of my time going to another shop just to get the alignment done -- something the person who scheduled my appointment easily could have told me beforehand. Then, when it was finally time to swap the tires, you couldn't do the service because you didn't have the key to unlock the wheel locks. That made me even more frustrated, because from the very beginning you knew the make and model of my car and could have informed me that you didn't have the necessary tool to perform the service. So I ended up wasting my time, my energy, and driving all the way there for nothing. If I had known this from the start, I would never have booked the appointment with you. He showed up and Dylan was great about special ordering a replacement tire since he has Snow tires on. We came back the next morning with his other tires and they put them on for him. Employees kept looking over at me waiting to get service, but just continued to talk amongst themselves. After about 20 minutes, I called and was put on hold for 5 minutes. After that, they ended my hold and hung up. I called back multiple times but was never answered again. The person in front of me was helped right away, but I was not. Tried to be patient but after a certain amount of time, I could see they did not respect my time. While i understand that this specific service is free, they should still put in the effort to help those needing this service. We were on vacation when our "low tire pressure" indicator came on. Thankfully we were just a minute from Discount Tire. We explained what happened and they said they would try to get us in as soon as the could but would likely have a 2 hour wait since it was Saturday and they were really busy. They saw we were on a family vacation and worked really hard to get us in - everyone on staff was polite, professional and moved very quickly. They showed us a large chunk of metal that our tire picked up and gave us our options to take care of it. We were back on the road within an hour! We were truly amazed. I had a appointment for 9:20am I needed my car tires switched from the summer to winter new tires I bought there. They blocked in my car. Made me wait for them to load the semi. We waited until 2:20pm. It took them 5 hours to switch the tires. They called someone else about my car and the changes they had to make they put on a lug nut kit that I didn't want. They switched my car info into some one else's name. Someone who has nothing to do with me. Give sensitive information to someone else about my car. They are disorganized they lost my old tires I eventually found. They did a terrible job. I watched them ignore my car to work on other cars. Made an appointment and got checked in within 5-10 min which was good considering how slammed they were. Got done in 1 hr, including balance. Upsold on windshield wipers, which I needed to do anyway, but I just pulled up some wipers on amazon, and they matched it so that it was actually cheaper for them to do it than for me to do it myself. Also a lot of food etc. nearby while you wait. Only minor complaint is I asked for my two tires with best tread to be mounted in the front, but they instead just rotated them from where they were marked as previously mounted, which they told me afterwards is their standard practice. This place has genuinely good customer service. They do sales, so of course you're going to get some upsells (you really need 4 new tires, not one). But, they will never lie to you and they will always come up with a creative solution for your low budget sitch. Most recently I came in with a flat that had been "repaired" on the fly and needed to be replaced. Knowing both front tires could be in better shape, I replaced both and asked about keeping the less shit-show tire as a full size spare. Not only did they recommend the cheapest wheel that would fit my vehicle and tire, they asked an employee who lived near the store where it was available to pick it up on his way in to work the next day for me. I took it in for her without an appointment on a Friday, because it was deflating faster and was a hazard. It was my carpool day, plus we were scheduled to drive that night to Colorado Springs for a softball tournament early Saturday. I was told "90 minutes to 2 hours, you have 12 ahead of you." Spoke to someone on the phone to make appointment and make sure price online matches Costco price. Then when I arrive it cost $100 more because they add the warranty per tire at the store. I told them my price at Costco and they assured me on the phone it would cost the same in store but when I arrive if I don't pay the extra then I get no warranty. Costco that IS included in the total price. I was told it was here as well with the price match and now I don't have time before my trip to cancel this and have an appointment made at Costco. I've been coming to this location for many years and have never had a bad experience. Being able to make an appointment makes it a quick, painless experience. One tip if you are buying online - the website prompts you to enter the tire size info from the manufacturer's sticker inside your door. If the knucklehead who owned the car before you put the wrong size tires/wheels on, that info won't help you. Verify on your actual tire before finalizing your purchase. I had a tire blow out on a pothole and needed new tires ASAP. The store took twenty minutes to answer the phone, when I finally got through I was thrilled to know they could get my car in and tires changed that day. I arrived at 2:30 and was told by Diego the car would be ready by 6:30, mostly likely before, but show up before 6 as they close then, and to track my car's progress from a link they text me if they get done sooner. The link worked for about 15 minutes and from there I was in the dark. Since their phone line just rang and rang, I showed up before 6 to find my car hadn't moved, bad sign. I spoke to Andrew, he assured me my car was one of the next ones up and I'd be ready to go a little after 6:30. It left me handcuffed to them as my wife had to leave and hope they'd be done as they assured me so I can watch my daughter recital at 7. Come 7, my car finally got on the rack, I missed the recital. None too happy with false assurances from Andrew, the poor communication from start to finish, and the lack of detail (took my matching gray tire caps and threw on standard black caps that don't match the rims). read more

This is my second favorite discount tire location in the area. My first favorite is still the Wheat Ridge location, which is just a couple miles south of this one. What I like about this location, is that it is conveniently located next to other businesses, so it is easy to kill an hour while you wait for work to be done. The parking lot is significantly larger than some, although it has quite a few pinch points while trying to move through it. This is not helped by the people who tend to block the fire lane. The service I have had here is friendly, as per normal, at discount tire. Also, the pricing is quite good as one would expect. I have generally had excellent service here. If I had one small complaint, it would that be that upon my most recent visit they did not double-bag my changed out summer tires as requested. read more

After the shop I was going to use to swap my tires completely messed up my appointment and offered to reschedule 2 weeks after, these guys took me up as a walk-in with a more than understandable 1.5 hrs wait.
