I'm very familiar with how service writers push items the customer really doesn't need. You will never experience that with Arvada automotive. Zack one of the owners runs the business with intense integrity. You won't find a more honest repair shop with fair pricing and quality workmanship. They won't try to sell you something you don't need which corporate owned dealerships often will. When I dropped my car off Cameron helped me I told him if they found anything related to the problem I was having just go ahead and replace it. When he called me that the car was ready he said the other part was fine. That saved me a little over $300.00. A lot of other places may have just replaced it. I am one of those guys who knows very little about cars. Not so bad as to think headlights need headlight fluid - I know when I'm being BS'd. Arvada Automotive Center doesn't BS me, and they actually teach me a thing or two about my car. My first visit to AAC was for an oil change and to have them investigate why my engine was sounding weird - it was running a little loud. They discovered that there was a shroud or something like that that was cracked and thus, the engine ran louder. It didn't affect the performance of the car, though, and Ken told me that straight up. It was something I was concerned about in the first place, and he easily could have told me "you need to spend the $800 to fix this" and I probably would have. But no, Ken was straight with me, my car runs fine and I can deal with a little extra noise. I recently went here because our transmission fluid needed flushing. AAC's price was much lower than at the dealer for the same set of steps performed. Our brakes had been shuddering too. The dealer, who charged for the brake check, recommended only changing the pads and turning the rotors. When I went to AAC for a 2nd opinion, Ken recommended changing pads, changing rotors, and changing the calipers, too. His free inspection found that one of my rotors was cracked and that due to bad calipers my pads were wearing terribly unsymmetrically. Yeah, it ended up costing me a little more money, but Ken saved the parts and showed everything to me (one of the pads was worn down to nothing) and made me feel confident in my decision to get the full monty done. We carry precious cargo around in that car now and the brakes are working much more smoothly and safely. We get our oil changes here, too, and anytime we need something done on either of our cars, we always take it to AAC. read more

I have used Arvada Auto in the past and I liked theri service. Then I got a new mid-sized SUV one year ago and had it serviced twice by the dealer. On the 2nd dealer service, I reported a loud thunking sound when I take a right turn and accelerate from a stop. They told me there was "no trouble found". For my next service, I took it to Arvada Auto. They told me that I had a leaking seal near the transfer case and since the SUV was under warranty, take that to the dealer. I went to a second dealer and showed them the Arvada Auto invoice. They found a defective differential. The 2nd dealer took care of the problem for no charge and they provided a loaner vehicle. This place is amazing! They work super fast and never do anything to your car without calling you first. I just had them do the breaks in my Jeep and they replaced the rotars (something that has probably needed to be replaced since we bought the car almost 2 years ago and MIDAS never once told me that they should probably be replaced to stop a weird noise from happening). They also did the power steering pump and lines in my Husband's Jeep AND, a few weeks later, replaced the radiator. We liked them so much that my parents got in on it too and they just did about $1400 in repairs on the front end of their Blazer. :) My mom also overheard Zach (owner) talking to a customer over the phone about getting the parts themselves, bringing the vehicle into the shop, and only getting charged for the labor. Awesome business! The individual who runs the front counter, (Abby, I believe) is very sweet and shares my love of Batman. :) My family has nothing but good things to say about this mechanic and its employees! We got a coupon in the mail for a free oil change - that was like 8 years ago and other than out of town emergencies, we haven't gone anywhere else. The people at Arvada Auto are friendly and informative. They have repeatedly worked with us when our finances have really not supported major auto repair - telling us what must be done now and what can wait a few months as well as what can just be ignored. We have a mini van with electrical issues and they have spent hours working on it, and a couple times without even charging us. They are upfront about cost as well as the time they will need to fix it and when they can get to it. Going to a new auto diagnostic and repair business is usually entering an RO Zone. (Rip Off Zone). Not here!! Zack made an appointment for us to bring our 2003 Ford Taurus for electrical diagnosis. Another auto shop gave us an EXPENSIVE repair estimate and we wanted a second opinion before the inevitable money dance began. Being on a senior income only allows a little wiggle room and the scramble for funds had begun. Arvada Automotive Center did NOT get the message that seniors and women are easily exploited. They were totally honest up front with us about potential charges, time to do the work and what they could or could not do. We were able to make a fully informed decision to do whatever necessary to get back on the road. They fully understood that we want to keep our car - we love it! By noon the first day, the scary call from Zack came. Waiting for the call that would soon become a $2,000 reality had my toenails having seizures. Instead, he told us there was no short, no electrical problem, just needed a new battery. Ha!! That was my first question at the other place!! I know they worked more than a few hours making certain that was all. But they only charged one hour plus the battery. It just couldn't have been a better experience. I was desperate for a great local shop, and was encouraged by all the great reviews. Unfortunately, just being 'nice guys' doesn't equate with being great mechanics. And I worked directly with Zack, so I can't blame this on some temp worker. I brought in an older Jeep, that didn't want to start. They did a full tune-up ($300+), but eventually diagnosed the issue as a bad ECM (computer). They said my only recourse was to pay around $2000 (up front) for a used ECM, that "might" work. As this was incredibly disappointing, I asked if they were "absolutely sure" that this was the problem, and I was told "100%. It's a bad computer." I had it towed to a different mechanic, who spent a ton of time, but eventually found that it was simply a rusted out/failed wire in the main harness. Computer/ECM was fine. I almost dropped several thousand dollars, on a misdiagnosis, and the problem would not have been solved. Sorry guys, but I can't trust you after that. read more

My first experience with Arvada Auto Center has made me a lifetime customer. I just moved to this part of town and needed a shop to repair my small truck. I don't drive it very often so I was disappointed when it wouldn't start because I don't want to put a lot of money into it. I replaced the battery and it still wouldn't start and I was worried it would cost several hundred dollars to fix. Zach and Arvada Auto Center found and fixed the problem for $36! I don't know anything about vehicles so they could have told me it was anything reasonable (eg starter, alternator).
