Well Larry made a good deal on these Yokohama's, and so I got em installed on Saturday, & the Labor Day rebate got me another $100 off. In and out in 45 minutes. Compared to other regional and national chains, Discount Tire Bellingham has been the best for my $$$. Last summer on this same car one of my Ford OEM Continental tires had a slow leak from a nail in it. Ford said no warranty. I went to Discount Tire on Lakeway to get it repaired. They did it under 30 minutes for free. Ya for free. How do you stay in business doing free stuff??? I did compare tire prices at 2 other chains for comparison, before getting these Yokohama's. I made an appointment to get my tires switched out for winter tires. They were overrun with people rushing to prepare for the upcoming snowstorm. They honored my appointment, without even so much as a hint that they might be too busy to do so. They had me in and out in under an hour, as promised. I feel like most places would have used the rush as an excuse to push back appointments and not be on the ball. They just earned my repeat business. Discout Tire in general is probably the best places to go for tires (national chain or otherwise). All the ones I've been to have been more professional than the average tire place, and prompt on doing what they say they'll do. They also pricematch against anyone else (including internet stores, although you'll have to include the shipping quote if you are pricematching against a TireRack or other online seller). This makes them impossible to beat on price, and in my opinion well above average on service. read more

I was on my way driving from Vancouver to San Francisco. And I felt like I needed a tire rotation somewhere on the way since the car has about 10K km on it and a rotation has never been done. I love Discount Tire, they give great service and always have. This visit was no different. I came on a busy Tuesday after work. I was 4th in line, took about 15 minutes until I got to talk to someone. I had a slow leaking tire and wanted it taken care of quick. Well, this wouldn't be quick, but it would get fixed. The Assistant Manager was helpful and while they are happy to help fix a flat tire, it is not before making sure an opportunity to sell tires was not missed, My tires were fine (except for the leaker) so just a fix was what was required. I handed over my keys and was told it would be nearly 2 hours for the fix. So I was off to kill time. Thank God for Far North at Whole Foods across the street. After killing some time, I was back at Discount Tire about 15 minutes before the time I was told my tire would be done. It was clear the technicians were hustling, so I wasn't worried about the wait. My car was done 15 minutes after the projected time. I love the seating to watch the garage, these guys work hard and hustle. It was a staple in my tire, after all. The tire could be fixed, so I was thrilled. I left feeling good about the service and satisfied. I will return. read more

After getting a flat, I needed new tires ASAP at a good price, as I'm a college student making minimum wage. I was very anxious about the whole process, but every single staff member I interacted with was incredible. They were helpful, understanding, not at all judgmental, and informative. They didn't treat me like I was clueless but they also offered up information in a helpful manner. The woman who initially helped me was super understanding of my financial situation and helped me find the best option for my budget. I used Yelp to help me make a decision on where to purchase tires. I had both some frustration and some excellent customer service while getting my tires and TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) replaced. Discount Tires made an excellent recommendation on tires, which were equal (or better) quality to what I had been looking at and saved me several hundred dollars. When I went to the store to have mine replaced, they didn't have all four in stock. They were ordered from a Seattle area store to arrive Monday afternoon. When I arrived for my appointment I discovered they hadn't arrived. This was the second time I had taken time away from my business to take care of the tires and also had a wheel alignment appointment first thing the next morning, so was frustrated that no one had called to let me know not to show up. Rod, the manager, offered me another set of tires that were more expensive. I declined but appreciated his customer service as well as his education on the pros and cons of staggered tires, I got the new tires on Tuesday, drove a short distance, drove again Wednesday for two miles when a red tire pressure warning light came on. I was afraid to drive so called Rod. By that time I was late for an appointment so wasn't able to come into the shop. We tried to resolve the problem via phone but weren't able to. After talking with Rod I felt fairly comfortable driving with the light on to the alignment shop the next day and having him take a look at the issue. I was diving to Oregon early Friday morning, so was especially concerned about getting this resolved. The automotive shop wasn't able to fix the red warning light issue, but a specialty shop was. It took a couple of hours that day to get everything resolved and know I was safe to leave for my trip the next day. I spent way too much valuable time getting these tires, but am attributing the challenges to being an exception. Both through Yelp and verbally I've heard great things about this tire store. What really saved this frustrating experience was the excellent customer service from Rod. He even did a follow up call to make sure everything was resolved. read more

I was test riding a motorcycle before buying it. It rode horribly so I went to Discount Tire in the same shopping center I was in. The young men cheerfully checked and found the pressure was WAY low. They put the correct pressure in and I was soon on my way back to Seattle with a new toy. No charge, and LOTS of appreciation. Told by an oil change company that I needed new back tires. They gave me a quote of $226.00 for two new back tires. Made an appointment at Discount Tire for a "tire rotation" to see what they had to say. They also told me I needed two new back tires, but quoted me at $119.00. This was the price after my discount...I had bought the tires that needed replacement from Discount Tire, and I had not gotten my full mileage out of them. So I was discounted $22 per tire that needed to be replaced! They had me out the door with two new back tires in 20 minutes and my front tires were rebalanced. It was fabulous. Did I mention that the $119 price includes free replacements or repairs of those tires if needed? In addition, employees were all very polite, the waiting area was clean and had complementary water bottles and coffee. It is very infrequent to come across a business that has so much integrity. They are honest and wish to save you money. I strongly recommend this place to everyone. read more

I have 3 cars and a motorcycle, and I can honestly say that I have never been to a tire place with better customer service. Even if you show up at 8 when they open, they may have 20 people waiting outside already, but they greet everyone politely, and get everybody checked in and on their way ASAP. They also have good prices, but even if they were a little nore expensive, I'd probably come here still. Excellent customer service! My son is away at school in Bellingham and ended up with a bolt in one of his tires. We usually go to Firestone but they could not get him in for a few days so he decided to try Discount Tire. They patched it up quickly and at no charge. I love Discount Tire but today I had to endure a 20 minute runaround about them refusing to install the two new tires I needed on the front of my FWD car and moving the front ones that were still good to the rear. They seem to think that two new tires always belong on the rear - never mind anti-lock brakes and the fact that I told them of my plans over the phone without complaint. And I only had the money for two tires right now. The idea was to up-sell me on four new tires and frankly I resent the last-minute crap I got from the salesman that wasn't resolved until I walked out to go somewhere else. I went out in the morning to go to work and found my tire was flat. It had a screw sticking right up through the top of it. I put my spare on and went to work. After work, I got off at 5 and Discount Tire closes at 6, I headed right there. I hoped that they could fit me in before closing. I walked in the shop and the Assistant Manager immediately welcomed me and brought me to his computer. He said, no worries, we will get you in quickly. Sure enough within 5 minutes my car was pulled in. 25 minutes later my car was pulled out, tired repaired, put on and the spare was put away nicely in the back of my car. I was brought out to my car, explained what they did, said have a nice evening and come back when you are ready for new tires! They did all that work and didn't charge me anything!!! A nice, bespectacled man by the name of Eric helped me today. 2 months ago a tire shredded and I replaced it at a competitor. I paid nearly $200 for 1 tire. I contacted Discount Tire (Lakeway, Bellingham)...one, because I had lived nearby at one time and used them previously for new tires and service and was very satisfied,.. and two, because they could provide quick service for my current flat repair, which I conveniently made an appointment for on-line. I have got to say when I rolled up with a slew of cars in the lot, I was greeted immediately, but was doubtful they could deliver on the 30-45 min. service estimate. Guess what? They delivered the vehicle out front in 45 mins. with the mini-spare and everything else in place. They were very organized and run a tight ship! If the customer service reps. out front were not busy they pitched in with help for the technicians. What's more, they didn't charge me for the flat repair and rebalance even though I did not buy these new tires from Discount Tire. I purchased a set of tires from this location 6 months ago and it was fantastic service from start to finish. I crossed the border from Vancouver to save at least 50% of what it would have cost at any tire center in BC. This place is first class all the way very organized and get the job quick as they have several bays working at once. Now to the present day I was doing some cross border shopping in the area when I left the mall only to notice that my rear tire was flat. I quickly filled it up at the nearest gas station and drove right back to discount tire thinking they could help me out. I Parked my car, went in and the staff member said he will have a look at it and fix it for free if its damaged. They were a little busy so he said come back in a half hour and will see our options. I grabbed a quick bite to eat and when i come back the employee says it was not repairable I then had that sick feeling that now this shopping trip is gonna cost me another $100 + but then the employee quickly added "its ok your cars ready to go I just slapped a new tire on, no charge" . I was amazed by the service here, you would never find service like this at any Canadian tire retail store. I've been a customer of Discount and get emails regarding promotions. The email said I would get 30% off my tires. I went to purchase tires on line and found I had to have a discount tire credit card to be eligible for the sale price. As I needed tires ahead of our next storm, I bought and paid for 4 that said they were in stock and proceeded to set up an appointment 4 days later. I went to my appointment and they did not have my tires. They said they were coming from Portland. I thought that was strange since the website said they were in stock in Bellingham. They assured me they would be here later that day and so I rescheduled the appointment for the next day. The tires I had already paid for were not there. They said they would call me when they arrived. It's now been 10 days since I paid for tires and the store has not called me and I don't know where my tires are. I feel like I've been really jerked around. I am requesting a refund, so I'll let you know how that goes. read more
