Not sure what to say here. I got 4 brand new snow tires at discount on my car last nov to swap out the 4 brand new tires that came on my brand new car. I just went back to get the snows off and was told that there were knife cuts in 2 of the tires. Thing is that I put the summer tires directly Into my garage after the snow tire purchase. There they sat until yesterday. We live in one of the nicest neighborhoods in boulder (As if there is a bad one). There is just no way that they could have been cut in my garage. I'm not pointing deliberate fingers but the last time the tires were looked at out of the bag was at discount. Just saying. $400 later I have 2 new tires. This is a five star recommendation for a few reasons: 1) simply make an appointment and miss the general waiting room angst of other service centers , 2) great customer service. On a recent tire rotation ( free by the way), one of the wheel covers was misplaced. These guys are great! They were able to give us a great deal on both of our cars and explained the differences between the different tires. I feel like they weren't just pushing the most expensive options and they really tried to match our driving needs to the tires they sold us. The only reason for one star less is that I had to go there several times to find an open window when they weren't totally swamped. They can probably add a few more people to their workforce on peak hours to keep up with the crazy demand. I had success on a rainy Thursday evening and it was empty but it seems like early morning or lunch are really bad times. Other than the crowds, I would give them 5 stars. read more

This Discount Tire Location is completely incompetent. Dropped off a set of brand new front wheel to get two new tire winter Mounted & Balanced. First off the Tires were Wildly overpriced compared to what I bought the rears at (same size, model & brand) almost a year early ($80 bucks each Vs $210 each). Okay so material prices across all industries has gone up, no problem right? Wrong. I have my brand tires ordered and shipped to the Boulder Location, so I come in to pick up my brand new wheel & tire set up and imitatively hit with the question of "so where's your vehicle?" To which I answer "I dropped off two brand new wheels on Saturday to be mounted & balanced"... dead silence. Spent the next 15 minutes arguing with the sales rep and manager that I had dropped off two wheel the two days previously. The Manager denied ever seeing my wheels and tried to tell me I never brought them in. Fast forward 30 minutes and my wheels had been "found". Had to wait yet another 30 minutes for my tires to actually be mounted. I don't know how you "lose" a customers wheels and then be deliberately unhelpful & try and cover it up. With two brand new wheels and tires my bill was roughly $900. You best believe $900 worth of car parts does not just get up and walk away on its own over the course of two days. Just like Boulder, this guys are completely incompetent. I will never have my tires serviced at Discount Tire in Boulder EVER again. read more

Punctured my tire in Aspen on a Sunday so had to fix my tire with tire sealant since no place to get a patch kit was open. Brought the car in and they removed the liquid that was floating in the tire, patched it and was in my way in 30 minutes. Best of all, they did it for free. Really nice people too. read more

There's a very good reason people line up out the door to get their tires here: Professionalism, from the front of the house to the back of the house. Been coming here for years and I am never disappointed - even with new/different personnel up front (who, I think, move to the front after getting a ton of experience out back). I have a truck, a car, and a jeep, and they all get their tires here. So I walked in yesterday to a very busy place with a list of tires I had selected online to try to save time and they very quickly set me up with excellent tires at almost twice the price that i was planning on, but I am *very thankful* for the great advice to prevent me from regretting my original choices, the accurate out-the-door time (4 hours) and then accommodating my mistakes. I knew it might be a long wait (heck, I was expecting them to tell me that they couldn't even fit me in) so I brought a good book to read. As I sat there, I watched them handle *dozens* of customers efficiently, professionally, and politely. It's refreshing to watch these guys work. They keep the place very clean, too. I especially gotta recognize the guys in the back, too. From all the hollering and funny screaming from the guys, you can tell they are working hard, they enjoy their work, and they are very good at what they do - and they are *fast*. From the time they took my Jeep to the time it was ready was about 30..40 minutes, so that explains how they can handle 200 vehicles a day and why they have so many repeat and loyal customers. Do yourself a favor and listen to their recommendations. They are very knowledgeable and have seen what works well and what doesn't. The optional tire replacement fee is automatically added in the final cost, but I recommend it if only for the peace of mind it brings. Well done, guys. Well done. read more

I ran over a screw and got a flat tire on my home from work , took it to Discount Tire since it's just down the street. They got it plugged up for me in less than 10 minutes (despite appearing to be very busy) free of charge, and the staff was friendly. I bought a brand new car and decided to get some snow tires for it. I ordered them through Discount Tire because they weren't in stock. They said they'd come in 3-5 days and would call me when they arrive. After 2 weeks I finally called and they said they were there and not sure why nobody called me. I took the car in and they changed the tires quickly. When they were finished, I quickly noticed that the paint on two of the wheels were scratched. This was very upsetting. My car was two weeks old with only 500 miles on it and scratched by carelessness after paying over $700. This has never happened to me in several wheel and tire purchases at other stores. I alerted the salesperson and he said they would resurface my wheels or give me a discount on a new set of wheels. I didn't really think it was appropriate to give them more of my money, and there's no way they're touching my car again. After negotiating, they offered to refund me $200. So I guess that means I only paid $500 to get my new car scratched. I'll never go here again. They'll never touch any of my vehicles again. Amateurs! read more

I went to Discount Tire because my front two tires were completely bald, and I had just gotten back from a trip to Yellowstone. My car is very important to me because I commute to work. After the trip I went to the shop to see if they had any availability. I was able to get in right away, and they had the car for about an hour and a half, which was pretty quick turn around. I drove up the canyon on the two new tires, and everything was fine. The next morning I was driving down the canyon to go to work, and I got a flat tire! it was on one of my older tires that I didn't change out! I was bummed. I couldn't believe that luck! I changed it and made it down. I called Discount Tire, and they told me to come in right away. They saw me right away once they opened. They felt bad that I was just there the evening before, and offered to give me a new free replacement tire, on one that wasn't even theirs! I decided to buy the fourth tire, so we went inside to discuss the prices. This service manger looked around at the prices, and he finally he said that he was going to give me two free tires and all I had to pay for was the warranty and the labor. Another surprise! I left there paying $56 when the evening before I payed $187 for the same thing! The original price I paid was still reasonable, then to get a great deal out of a bad situation was awesome. When money is tight, they were very helpful. They were understandable and wanted to help. And now I am happily safe driving to and from work! read more

I had some snow tires swapped out on my Subaru a week ago. The total cost was $50. I came into the store today to have snow tires swapped out on my other vehicle and the guy quoted me a price of $80+. I asked about the discrepancy and he stated "I'm trying to take care of you. normally we charge $120 for this, but since the rims and tires aren't on the car, I'm giving you a deal". It was pretty much a straight scam to get more money out of me since the tire or wheel wasn't purchased from discount. This was the exact same scenario from a week ago, but they charged me a normal price. I went down the street to Big-O, no line and had the tires mounted/balanced for $55. I wouldn't buy my tires anywhere else. This is the best place ever. I've purchased summer and winter tires from this store for over five years and have never been disappointed. When I went in with a flat tire, with my spare on, and everything strewn haphazardly in the trunk they were incredibly helpful. They went above and beyond. They even serviced the spare tire and put everything neatly back in the designated compartments. In the winter when you need to get snow tires, it might take a while, because all of Boulder is there, but it's worth it to plan and make time for the wait. read more

While the hole in my tire was not covered under my vehicle manufacturer's warranty, Discount Tire looked at my tire AND fixed the hole free of charge. I've purchased three sets of tires here and had many rotations and re-balances over the years. Until my last visit, I was fairly satisfied with the products and services I've received. Crowded, to be sure, but that's life in Boulder these days. I stopped in yesterday for tire rotation and balancing. As usual, I told the tech that the tire pressure is good - I monitor it myself. He repeated this back to me. When I picked up my van an hour later I see dirty handprints on the side of my white van. After driving for a few blocks I can feel that my tire pressure is considerably higher than normal. I check the tire pressure on the side of the road and find that all of the tires are running higher pressures, and with a spread of 5 psi - not good on an AWD vehicle. Dirty handprints and disregarding my instructions tell me that service at Discount is falling below an acceptable level and it looks like I'll need to be looking for another tire vendor to help me care for my van. I hear that Barnsley Tire in Boulder is highly regarded. read more

I bought new Michelin Cross Terrain tires from Discount Tire in Boulder in 2011. After driving on them for 30,000 miles (warranty on these from Michelin was 60,000) I went to a local place to have new brakes installed. I was informed that my front two tires needed to be replaced, despite their age, and that there was probably a defect with the rubber, as chunks were coming out of the tread (some 1/2 cm deep). I had brought one of these set back to Discount previously after another tire place refused to fix a flat, stating that the inside was peeling off and it was a rubber issue. Discount Tire said that wasn't true, but I had doubts when the other two started deteriorating. So I took my car into Discount and explained the issue after waiting in line almost 10 minutes. The guy who helped me stared at the tires for a while and poked at the holes before telling me that it wasn't a defect, just worn out tires. I tried to tell him what I had been told twice before and the guy helping me said he couldn't explain the situation to me again, that there was no defect, I just needed to buy new front tires. When we got back inside he informed me that Cross Terrains are not made any longer so I would need to buy 4 new tires rather than 2, as I have 4WD. I asked if they would be discounted since they too were at 5/32 after 30,000, but not too low to need replacing immediately and the early wear out of the front two were the reason I had to replace the back two. He said they would not do anything to discount those but that I would get a 50% off discount (proration of the Michelin warranty) for the new front tires. I was also told I needed to get Michelins to get the discount. Even though this experience has made me weary of the brand, I stated that I didn't think I had a choice so we should go ahead with 4 new tires for $750 without certificates. He asked where my lug nut lock was so they could replace them and I stepped away to make a call to be picked up. When I returned he informed me that they actually didn't have the tires in stock and would need to order them and would let me know when they got in. I think their employees need training in customer service. To say that the guy who helped sell me the tires was rude is an understatement. The minute a question about the tire came up he was defensive and unwilling to hear what two other mechanics had told me about the rubber in my tires. When I did get my tires replaced they left the lug nuts only hand tight (I could twist them with my hands) and all 4 were over inflated. read more

I bought some Yokohama tires at one of the Discount Tire locations in Denver a couple of years ago. The service was excellent. I only waited for about 30 minutes to have them installed, and they were super busy. I was going to go back to that location, but my tires were really bald, and I didn't want to take my car on the freeway. So I went to teh location in Boulder where I live. The service was great at this place, too, but I'm pretty upset with the price they gave me for my new tires. I originally paid $650 (including tax and labor) for the tires I bought in Denver. They came with a 60,000 mile warranty. I had only driven on these tires for 30,000 before they were almost completely bald. I figured that since the tires wore down past the wear mark at only half way through the warrany, they would cut me a great deal. WRONG! Instead they said they would knock a few bucks off of each new tire, and with installation and taxes, the total was going to be just under $550 for the same Yokohamas. Are you kidding me? Cut me a deal!! Thats only $125 cheaper thanw hen I bought them 30,000 miles ago! The guys who helped me seemed like nice guys, and I have nothing against them, but I'm very unimpressed with the replacement price I received. read more

My BMW M5 needed new tires so I tried them out. I brought them the wheels only and waited almost 2 weeks for the tires. They finally called me and I went down to pickup and noticed all 4 wheels were scratched from the tire machine. They covered 3 out of 4 wheels and sent them out to be refinished. (I somehow lost the argument about the 4th wheel) A month later (obviously couldn't use my car during that time) I picked them up and I asked about the missing center cap. No help there whatsoever, only lip service. I do not recommend them. read more

Very unprofessional employees working the desk. i was told it would take approx 4 hours to change tires- 5 hours later still waiting, no one has touched my car. i have watched others come pick up cars in queue before me, and after me, and my car has still not been serviced.
