This is the third time I've come to this discount tire and i am still pleased and impressed by them. My first experience was to patch a flat, which they did for free and quickly. My second experience was when i was in need of four new tires but was really short on money. The guys ended up installing a set of used 'loaner' tires that kept me driving safely for about two weeks until i could afford the brand New tires....nice! This morning, yet again having waited a bit too long for new tires, and being in a hurry (of course) for a long drive, i called to see what they could do. Marvin helped me out, said to get there asap. I'm here now waiting for my car that went in about ten minutes after my arrival. I was in and out with 4 shiny new tires in less than an hour. I arrived on a Wednesday morning to a line at the door, waiting to open. Promptly at 8am, doors opened and smiling service writers got to work. Erik was my assistant and walked out to my car with me. I needed 4 new tires, a low price...and to be at work by 9am. I thought I'd get an estimate and schedule an appointment for the following day but nope, Erik assured me he could make it all happen. If I could give zero stars for today I might. The only good thing was that they were able to patch my tire and the guy that first talked to me was nice enough. It took 3 hours and I tried to call multiple times to find out the status and nobody answered the phone. Luckily I went back 10 minutes before they were closing to see if my car was done and found it sitting out in the parking lot unlocked. I guess it's good I checked otherwise I guess they would have all just gone home and left me stranded and my car out unlocked. Very very bad service. I walked into the Solana Beach location knowing Zero about tires. The guy Patrick gave me a full explanation about tread wear, warranty into etc.. i compared prices of tires and tread count and such, then went home to compare with other dealers. I called around and found out the cheap tires other places were selling were of lower quality, lower tread count and low tread warranty. Also other places did not offer free patch replacement, so in if I bought new tires , drove out and ran over a nail.. they wouldn't fix it for free, they would charge or i'd have to buy a new tire. Unless i bought the extra road hazard protection plan. And by then i would be paying the same amount here for cheap ass tires that I could of just paid towards the better tires at Discount Tires. So, i went the next day to the Encinitas location bc they had my tires in stock and I already had chosen the tires for my car through their website. Jason was amazing! He found an $70 instant rebate for me! So i automatically got 70$ off! I got the tires I wanted, and purchased the extra protection plan. I feel comfortable driving around my two babies in these awesome new tires! And really the best tires were only an extra $100, so worth it to last longer! Don't get the cheap tires! And they were really fast and friendly service! read more

Jason was great - very personable and a shining example of what customer service is all about. He not only examined my tires personally - but he also explained some of the potential reasons why my tires were not holding pressure. In less than an hour, my tires were checked to their proper PSI and they also noticed a nail in one of them - but they fixed it free of charge. I expressed interest in buying tires but never once felt hassled about making the purchase right then and there. I wasn't going to give them 4 stars! I came in last Friday to fix a tire that had a nail. I waited for an hour in half. Patrick came out to tell me they accidentally broke 1 of the bolts. They would take care of cost to fix it. I left thinking my tire was fixed & that I would arrange to get the bolt fixed another day. I drove my husband's truck & noticed the tire light on today. As I was driving, the steering wheel started to shake really bad! I pulled over to the nearest gas station to put air in the tire. I noticed the nail was still in the tire!!! At this point I'm extremely mad! I drove to Discount Tires & spoke to Andrew (store manager). I explained the situation & mentioned I was here last Friday! After having to repair a tire twice I made the trip to discount tire in Encinitas after having a great experience at the Solana beach location. This place has fantastic customer service and the employees work hard and incredibly fast. They are pros. I'm unable to remember the exact employee's name that helped me but he was amazing and even helped me get rid of some cardboard boxes I had in my truck bed. It's the little things. Andrew, my service advisor, was great. I completely expected to pay for the repair, but he told me it was free. Yes - free! I've bought several set of tires from Discount Tire in the past, but with this car - the one with the nail in the tire, the tires were the originals that came with the car when it was new. Outstanding customer service, Andy was kind and professional as well as the rest of the crew on that shift. They were swamped out the door but they meet our needs and answered all of our questions. We purchased 4 tires without any problem. The only problematic people in the building were the adults that were complaining like children about time issues. I could clearly hear a few complaining about "they must have let others jump over me and my car is not ready!" to "I'm writing a letter to complain about them not fixing a minor issue fast enough!" Dear grown folk, get a grip, when you are an experienced mechanic you may have your say on the speed it takes to service all kinds of vehicles back to back. Please be mindful of others as this is their job, next time leave yourself a nice gap of "time management" and plan on allotting a few hours just in case when you need your vehicle serviced; YOU are not the only human on earth with a life to tend to. This place is awesome! I was 200 miles away from home when I discovered that one of my tires was almost flat. With limited funds, I was skeptical about what I would be able to afford to resolve the problem. You can imagine my surprise when they told me that they not only would fix my flat tire,but rotate my tires and make sure that all four tires had the correct amount of pressure, AT NO CHARGE!!! Went in because I noticed my tire light flashing. Additionally I have had to put air in one of my tires more frequently than normal. There was a line when I walked in but every worker that passed through the lobby assured someone would be with me soon. I was helped by Fernando, so extremely warm and professional! He told me that it didn't look like I had a puncture but told me he would do a free inspection to ease my mind. I ended up not needing a patch and they suggested I replace my sensor. From start to finish the whole team was pleasant and helpful. Fernando really made sure I was comfortable with the inspection and what the next steps will be. I will definitely be back! read more
