I usually get excellent service, but last week it took almost four hours to rotate my tires. There is no reason for rotation to take so long. I have never waited longer than one hour. Coming from a dealership background, several "insiders" recommended that I take my car to Discount Tire when my car's rear tire when flat. The gentleman who took several of my calls was very patient and helpful as he answered my numerous questions. After finally deciding which tire would be best for my vehicle (I went with Yokohama's All Season tire), I scheduled my appointment. Upon arriving, I was greeting outside by their service writer, Paul. He was very helpful and knowledgeable and before we were even done talking about my car and tires, the work upon my car was completed. I was in and out of there in less than 30 minutes! I was informed that a bent rim was causing my front tire to wear a little more than normal, which led to an attempt to an upsell of new rims and credit card application, which I denied both. Upon talking to my auto tech friend, I was informed that a slightly bent wheel does not wear away the tire any quicker, which I was relieved to hear because affording new rims is not in my budget. I had been a loyal customer to another tire shop for 15 years, but I couldn't stand how long it took them to get work done and their inconvenient hours. I decided to try out Discount Tire last week and I'm really glad I did. I reserved my new tires and scheduled an appointment online. I expected the installation would take an hour or more based on my experience with the old shop, but no, 20 minutes is all. I was blown away. The staff is friendly and everyone in the service area was hustling. Oddly, they couldn't find the tires I had reserved and upgraded me to better tires at no extra cost. Over the years I've been loyal to Discount Tire. Reasonable prices, a variety of choices, and usually quick service. Especially with an appointment! That being said, today I was disappointed. I had a noon appointment. Pulled up at 11:50 and was happy to see a couple of bays open and only a few folks in the lobby. Thought I would be in and out in 30. No such luck. They are only running two bays and I'm still waiting nearly an hour later to see my car go in for a simple tire rotation. Best tire buying experience ever! The employees are helpful without being pushy. The store is clean, even the bathroom was clean. I got four great tires for a great price and it was done within the 45 minute time frame they said it would be. The staff were neatly represented and had a very positive communication among each other and each customer. What impressed me most was how they worked with a customer who had a bigger issue and bill than predicted, they bent over backwards to find every discount they could find and every finance option available , again without being pushy and without trying to push him off to the next person. I am a loyal Discount tire fan. I have never had anything less than a perfect experience. Until today. The guy who helped me was excellent. I had about an hour wait which I didn't mind. While sitting in the waiting room I observed a man by the name of Joe who i am assuming is either the manager or the manager on duty scolding an employee. He was nit picking and embarrassing him in front of a full room of customers. The first time I raised an eyebrow. By the 6th and 7th time I was felt really bad for this guy who was doing a great job and I felt uncomfortable. Any good manager would pull the employee aside in private. Not to mention the way he spoke to him was so condescending it was un real. Hopefully Joe sees this and is less of a jerk in general...at the very least in front of customers. read more

I had my tired pressure light on for a few days and I was constantly having to fill it back up. I was getting extremely frustrated that I was going to have to drop money I didn't have on a new tire so I went to this place. Was greeted with amazing and friendly service and then after taking some info from me and checking my tires they fixed the hole in my tired which was caused by a screw and put all the other tires at the correct PSI within a half hour... Went in due to a screw in the tire... Two guys met me at my car with an extremely warm welcome; they pulled the screw, checked it out and cleared me to go. They even offered to do a free rotation and then went ahead and topped off the air pressure for good measure. Scott was awesome and it seemed like they were having a party in the shop with all the cheering and such. Couldn't believe how happy they all seemed to be there! (Side notes: I've purchased 3 sets of tires from DT, 1 from this store, but they did all of the work without even looking me up in their system... I went in to get an air check and see if I needed new wheels because by tread might be low. And This kid named Izat came over to air check my mercades. First of all the general appearance of this kid was enough to make my skin crawl. He acted as if he was in a daze and didn't really seem to respond when I asked him a question. He forgot to air check my right rear tire and I told him and he just ignored me and said "have good day" so I left. I'm not saying the business or even the store in franklin is bad but please at least try and keep your technicians looking more approchable and not like they want to hurt you. read more

I was in town for a weekend soccer tournament, and happened to pick up a screw in my tire. On a tight schedule, facing a 300 mile drive home, and in a panic, I tried the local Firestone. There, I was told that my tire could not be repaired, but that they could sell me a new one. Knowing better, I left and drove to Discount Tire. The staff was very friendly and understanding. They told me that it would be no problem to make the repair, even though they were closing in 30 minutes. They made the repair, rebalanced and remounted my tire, stowed the spare, and wouldn't take any money for the service! When I asked " How much"?, he said " free", that this was a good will service they offer. Then he mentioned they would rotate and balance my tires , also as a courtesy. I had a flat tire and went to Firestone initially. They quoted me nearly $850 for all new tires and would have had to order them in for later that day, which didn't work with my work schedule. I had always used Discount Tire (different location) for my previous vehicle and was always pleased. I was in a pinch and really needed new tires that day, close to my work location, since my donut tire was about done for, but didn't want to spent close to $1,000 for standard tires. I called this location, and the man I spoke to was incredibly helpful. He told me if I was willing to change the size of my tires, since I had an odd size, I could get a much better deal. Visited this location and made an appointment to return, one sales guy looked at current tires and provided measurement information. Upon arrival for appt, someone looked at car again and provided measurements on tires that were 2" different than measurement 2 days prior. I still purchased the new tires however my appointment time was not honored and I waited over an hour. Manager did expedite my service once I let them know I had made an appointment but been waiting almost an hour. I'm still bothered by the conflicting information about tire wear, understand that someone was possibly improperly trained but does not make me inclined to trust them. read more
