How is that making it right? How does that make up for 2 hours and 41 mins? Turns out that when I told my wife about it, she told me the last time that she was there, they were rude to her and that had she known that's where I was going, she'd have reminded me and sent me to NTB instead. Had my car there to replace the tires after the replacement car came back with the airbag light on, when I asked them what happened the manager was rude and said nothing they did could cause that and pointed me to a 3rd party company that handle these kind of situations. Long Story: I went to this location and told them I had a nail in my tire. I was told it would take 1 hour. I was listening as they were checking people in and some had appointments, and some didn't. After an hour the people that didn't have an appointment that got there after me were now going in before me. After two hours, I finally said something to the person at the desk, and they tell me that those people had appointments. I hate when someone talks to me like I don't know what's going on. I know for a fact they didn't have an appointment, but he tells me now that I'm next. They bring the car back and said they couldn't find a leak. I tell the guy that I can see that the tire is still low. He didn't even listen to me because he was so frustrated that I said the tire was still low and he was having to explain why it looked low. He tells me that a tire isn't round when it's on the ground, then tells me that the tire looks like that because the engine is heavier, and the tires are going to look lower. OMG!! He's talking to me like I have no idea about how it works. I just waited for him to finish his rant. I tell him again, if you would look at the tire you can see that it's low. I asked if he checked the tire pressure. He says I have, but I will go get a tire gauge and manually show you, so you believe me that it's fine. I really am trying to be kind, but I knew what was going to happen when he checked the pressure. He checks the three other tires first and then the one that I said was low. When he checked the tire, it barely showed any pressure. He paused for what seemed like a 1 minute, now he doesn't seem to have all the words, and just says he will pull it back in. Now the manager goes out and looks at it and checks the tire himself. He finds the nail and then comes back to me and tries to complain how it happened that they couldn't find it the first time. If at any time they checked the tire pressure they would have seen that there wasn't much pressure. When you put soap and water on it, it's not going to bubble because there was not enough air in it to bubble! I've been there 2 hours and 45 minutes and they bring my car back and the guy starts programing my car to except the pressure that's in the tire. I told him I would do it myself because I don't believe the pressure is still correct. He tells me that many people don't know how to program it and kept insisting he would do it. I told him that I would do it myself when I can confirm that the pressure is correct. When I got home, the pressure was not correct. read more

The guys that manage this store do so from a mindset that defies stereotypes. I have had multiple interactions with the crew here and never experienced anything less than spectacular service. Today, they smashed that level of service. My wife, Stephanie, and I have fought tire issues on her C300 for about three years. Always one tire or rim acting up... I mean ALWAYS. We were at one DT or another about every 3-4 months, generally because her car runs low P, soft treads. This time it was too much. Every wheel or tire has some sort of slow leak, patch, cut or nail. This time, the MGR said (cringe) "Let's make this right". Three new badass tires to match the new one from last week in Waco. Warranties, trade-ins and general goodwill, and she rolled out for a song! I wont share the total, but she has four new Pirellis with warranties for what I pay for one truck tire! We asked to get our tires balanced and rotated and came back after a couple of hours. It was raining pretty hard so my pregnant wife dropped me off to pick up her vehicle however they only rotated her tires. I asked why they didn't balance them and he said it was my fault, that I have to specifically ask them to do it. I said when I ask "to get my tires balanced and rotated," shouldn't that be enough?? They said they can get her car back in but they need time, at least an hour or more. I said I'll come back and do it later, I walk out the building(they never pulled my wife's car up) and they parked her car all the way in the back of the building. I wish I could post the picture bc literally it's the only vehicle on the back end of the lot all by itself. I'm glad I went instead my wife to have her walk in the rain. The service was horrible, I don't know why I keep coming back to this location but only bc it's really close to my house. I always have better service at the Grapevine Mills location. I will gladly purchase my new Terra Grapplers from them instead of the 114 location, these guys will never see another dollar from me again, oh and this isn't the first bad experience. It's never fun when you show up to get your tires balanced and rotated(previous time) and they turn you away bc they said they can't get to me today. Yet there were 3 guys standing around in the bays, the guy who told me couldn't even look me straight in the face when he said it. It's funny when I told him I was thinking about purchasing new tires he immediately said he could take care of me. No thanks, I ended up purchasing them on my way to Austin at Georgetown, Tx location. Don't go here, the Gvine Mills location has and always will be a better experience. read more

From my hand, stuck in his pocket and walked me out to my car. The guy that actually changed my tire was still under my car putting the spare back on. I asked if he was the one who repaired my tire. He replied yes mam. I told him that Omar took his tip so I gave him another $20. I called Omar a jerk. After I backed my car out of the stall, Omar offered the $20 back. I had a 8:15 a.m. appointment, but as soon as I arrived at 8:05 a.m., there was already a line from the counter to the front entrance with at least 8 people in line. This place is quite popular. They were able to get to me near the appointment time. Since I knew I needed tire replacements, it was a quick walk around my car. I had 1 tire which was retained good tread, so when it came time to ring up the bill, he was able to reduce cost because I will keep this tire, and it reduces their disposal cost. Although he did up sell me, the tires he should be were better than the ones initially recommended and should give me a longer tire life by 20,000 miles, so I thought the additional $90 in expense was worth it. He stated that my car will be available in 1 hour since I had an appointment. The tire replacement did take approximately 1 hour. I had asked them to place my good tire in my trunk, and they said they would. When I returned home, I discovered my trunk to be empty. When I called back, they admitted to this mistake, and asked me to return to pick up the tire. That was the only inconvenient aspect of this entire experience, but other than that, they did a good job, so I would come back to this place again. read more

I went out to my 4Runner today to find out that I had a flat tire. I was able to put enough air into it to get to discount tire store. I called to ask if they were too busy and Matt said to come on by and he should get me out quickly. Everyone I came in contact with at this location including Matt, David, and Bryan were all very friendly? professional and helpful. I did not have an appointment but they got me in and out quickly and took care of my 4Runner, and even suggested /offered to rotate and balance my tires as it seemed time to do so (I had purchased my tires a few months back). They actually beat Jimmy Johns installing my tires today !! :) At 11:00 this morning I finally called Discount and told them about the really bad vibration I have had the past few weeks on my '06 Kia. Bryan answered and said they weren't very busy, so if I could come now... I was there 15 minutes later, mentioned that the vibration happened after I got rear-ended, Bryan told me immediately it was likely "flat spots" on my tires caused by my heavy breaking that day. So...I said fine, sat back and ordered a Jimmy Johns to have delivered 'cause I figured I'd be there a while. 15 minutes later, BOOM! Isaac rolls my Kia around Discount Tire 1, Jimmy John's 0! The shop is tidy and the bathroom is clean. It is a far better experience than I get in the UK. Buying tires is usually something you HAVE to do - not an impulse purchase for most of us. So customers really look for a good product at a good price, along with good service and a good experience. I recently had to replace all 4 tires on my car and had the work done at Discount Tire at the Grapevine location (SH 114). Like many experiences, it was a combination of pros and cons: GOOD Discount had the tires I needed in stock (NTB did not, even though their web site said they did); Discount's price was a little lower than NTB; and, You can check inventory and make appointments online. NEEDS IMPROVEMENT Not open on Sundays; Very busy (maybe it's because they are closed on Sundays?); Installation took longer that the quoted 30-45 minutes - actual time was closer to 90 minutes; The tech threw away steel valve caps that I specifically asked to be put on the new tires; There's not much of a waiting area - just chairs in the showroom; and, There's non-stop contemporary Christian background music (nothing wrong with this per se, but seems out of place in a business environment). Not that it makes a difference (and I never really thought about it before), but Discount sure acts like a very religious organization (no Sunday hours and Christian background music). Far be it from me to criticize anyone's faith, but having no Sunday hours makes it really hard for customers that may have a tire emergency on the weekend. It may also be why the rest of the appointment schedule is so busy. SUMMARY Discount competes on price but could improve on customer amenities such as improving the waiting area, extending hours to Sunday, and doing a better job of actually following customer requests. read more

They never cease to amaze. Came in with my wife's van original tires with just over 20K on them. Did not have proof of rotation so tire manufacturer won't do anything, but Matt still tried to make good of bad situation. Went with different tire manufacturer and gave me a very fair deal. Discount Tire employees always seem to try to get customers coming back, by doing everything to keep you happy. Great business model, allowing employees a bit of latitude with pricing. This guys are great, very friendly, helpful and they really do try to save you money. They look and match competitor prices. Their shop is pretty clean and they play good music. I had bought 3 used tires at a place in euless and they were dry rotted so we decided to go to discount tire to get new tires instead and told them to save those 3 tires and dispose of the one that belong to me so i could get a refund for those 3 used tires, but they mistakenly disposed of one of the used ones so when I took them to the other place for a refund they noticed it wasn't theirs so they wouldn't refund me, I went into discount tire so they would dispose of that tire, and they not only sincerely apologized but they also gave me a refund for the amount I paid for that used tire and they disposed of mine for free! read more

So my feelings on discount tires are mixed but overall it's bad. On the one hand the price of tires, free rotation and free balancing sound great and are better than any other place offers. Discount tires has saved a tire for me with a patch before when we had the road hazard coverage which was great. The problem comes into practice. My dad bought about two extra pairs of tires due to what we were told was "cupping" of the tires. However, the discount tire guys never mentioned that it could be your shocks OR the balance of the tires. So they managed to get my dad to buy tires within the same year. He finally started talking to someone that is a mechanic and understands cars and realized it was the balance of the tires and shocks. Lesson of that story is... Discount tire guys don't really know cars and are susceptible to giving you bad advice. Basically, "ugh you should probably just buy a new set of tires to fix your problem!" Secondly, if you do understand what's going on with your tires, they still try to shank you! I came in and told them I'm 99% percent sure my tires are out of balance and asked them to balance my tires. So I watch them struggle to balance one of my tires an hour later and can tell my tires were out of balance as they seem to be every 5k miles. As they hand me the keys they tell me "ok we got your two front tires balanced for you so you're good to go." It didn't hit me until I was driving home that he just said only my two front tires. Only doing my two front tires makes no sense. Especially because they found out that my two front tires were out of balance, So the chances were high that my back two were out of balance. Having any tires out of balance creates flat spots on the tires and can throw your alignment off overtime which could potentially destroy your tires causing you to have to buy new ones. So in my opinion they tried to screw me. I had to come in the next day and ask them why I didn't get all 4 done and I was given no answer just a " oh well get those back tires taken care for you" basically they went oh crap you know we tried to screw you, ok we'll do our job now.....so I waited another hour and wrote this little piece of love :) thanks discount tire!!! Long time, loyal customer of Discount Tires. Given them thousands of dollars of business over the years and in return, they have done right by me. Last week, I purchased $900 in new Michelin tires from Discount and had them mount them on brand new 18" XXR custom wheels. Learned the new wheels wouldn't fit my Audi so I took them back over to Discount Tire in Grapevine, TX to remove the tires from the new wheels so I could sell them (I had a buyer waiting). When I returned to pick up the wheels, they were cosmetically damaged - on every single new wheel. The store manager denied it was his crew, said they didn't do it. They were the only ones who touched the tires/wheels. Very disturbing, no accountability. My brand new wheels are now damaged. Anyone who buys custom wheels know exactly how I feel. Completely lied to and they could care less. DO NOT give them your business!!! I own many cars, I'm done with liars and little beta males who can't take responsibility for their actions. I hope the world reads this and it costs Discount Tires business. They robbed me over $400 dollars in repair bills to fix their screw up. read more
