I like how this place operates. I researched my tire selections in advance and this place won on price handily over any competitor so I ordered my preferred SKU and set an appointment. The manager called and offered me 4 tires a level higher in quality for the same price quoted online (savings of about 32 off list). On the day of the appointment, they got me in and out in 45 minutes as promised. I purchased the certificates for an additional $40 as it just makes good sense given the total investment cost. I now have 4 brand new all-weather tires that can be rotated for free every 5K miles AND if anything goes sideways during the warranty period, they will fix/replace the tires for free. these people lie to get you to buy new tires . i brought my truck in to have a valve stem replaced and was told that I have the "incorrect tires on my truck" this couldn't be further from the truth . yes these wheels and tires are aftermarket however they ware rated at more than factory for load capacity and I have been towing just fine for 2 years . i have bought 4 sets of tires over the past 3 years and there will not be a 5th . these people lie in order to sell new Tires and it's BS. i am pulling my mercedes wheels from their storage and I will not be back again . buyers beware always get a second opinion after consulting these people . read more

it took them a solid two and a half hours to even get started working on the single tire I needed changed. It wasn't busy at all and it seemed like if you aren't actively asking about your car it's just getting pushed down the "todo" list. Decent deal on tires however the last two weeks after my tires were installed my brakes have been squeaking when I lightly touch the brakes. Brakes were done six months ago so it's not a matter of my brakes are worn out! They need to keep their greasy fingers off of the rotors! This is very annoying!!!!!!! read more

The only reason I am giving 5 stars to this place is because of the really great service I received from Doug Holcomb. He understood my situation (My tire had a puncture and I was due at a home inspection an hour away that couldn't be re-scheduled) and he squeezed me in and put the spare on my car so that I could make it. It's this kind of understanding and desire to please the customer that makes a place great. When I came back the next day to have the new tire put on the car, I sat outside first and watched the operation. Doug has more energy, moves faster, and just seems to care more. Services is on point. They truly try to make you happy. Wait time is never over an hour. I love that you buy tires there, and they will always fix your flats and rotate your tires for free with a wait time of half hour at times. They provide coffee and water to their customers as you wait... their sales man are always clean, and well informed. Very helpful. The mechanics are not the attendants which could be a little difficult because then the wait is longer. I love this place The only con is that they close early, and do not open on sundays. I'd give this place 10 stars if I could!! A friend of mine recently encountered an incredible act of kindness. I know this is a bit lengthy to read but it's totally worth it! "I went to Discount tire to check my tires cause one of them has been loosing pressure all the time. So they checked them and they said that my rim is cracked and I have to buy a new one cause it's not safe to drive like that. I had the guy check how much is the new one ($140) and very politely declined saying that I'll get it in a couple of weeks. So he offered to put my spare tire on instead and I told him to do it. I went and sat down and my eyes started to water down cause I was just having a very bad day, and a very bad week and I was thinking about all the piling bills that I have to pay now...and in a few minutes he came back to tell me that my spare tire is no good either. He saw I was crying and asked me if I was ok. I said everything is good, that I'll be fine and to just leave my old tire on then and I'll get a new rim in a few weeks. He said ok and he left but then he came back in 10 minutes and he said: "I have a Volkswagen too.They are putting my spare tire on your car right now. It's sounds to me like you don't know when you'll be getting a new rim and I don't want to let you out of here driving like that, knowing it's unsafe. You can keep it for as long as you want, so don't worry rushing to get a new rim right away." I called the following day to track the location and the person who was so kind to my friend! I had a strange experience, I pulled in with low air and asked for a fillup. They had me pull into a special bay with a fancy inflating machine that supposedly does something other than inflate, it gives a computerized readout or something. It would not allow my tire to be filled because the pressure was too low to begin with??? I was confused and questioned how they fill tires when installing and was told those hoses are too short. They never recommended repairing my tire, never warned of danger, they just sent me off on the road with too low pressure for their machine to read. It sounds like a liability lawsuit. When a customer pulls in with low air you should fill the tire, sending people on the road with tires you are aware are low is very dangerous. read more

Outstanding. Had my truck there on probably one of the busiest days they have (before an impending snowstorm) to get new tires on. I checked online prior to going to make sure they had a specific tire and size, computer said that they did. Called ahead to make sure, guy on the phone said they did. Got there to get the tires, turns out they had the tires, but the wrong size. Whereas other places probably would've said I'm sorry we were wrong, these guys said I'm sorry, we'll make this right. One of their employees drove to mount prospect to get the right size tires for me and they made sure they got the truck done that day. Just outstanding work. Can't beat that kind of service. Went there to buy 2 all season tires to replace my front 2 summer tires, they told me that they didn't have my tire size in stock and had to order it in and would come the next day, I wasn't so sure if I could do that because I had work the following day so I asked if it would be there in the morning so I would be able to make the appointment. They told me yes it should be in the store in the morning so I paid about 337$ for 2 tires including installation ( really a discount alright :/ ). I woke up early in the morning and called them and asked if the tires came in yet they said no and that it should be there by 12, so I told my work I was going to be late because I really wanted to get this done before any snow comes. I called at 12:30 and asked again and they said it would take another hour or 2. I told them to let me know asap. 2pm comes I told my brother if he could just pick up the tires for me. So I could just go to work and make my hours. My brother calls me at 4pm asking when are they going to let me know because they close at 5pm so I give them another call they tell me the tires came in 2 hours before and they never gave me a call, I wanted a refund and they said I had to go in store with my card to get a refund and I was furious. So I come to there store on Monday 3 days after I ordered my tires And asked to just install my tires rather than get a refund so they do my tires took them a good hour for 2 tires... and once I got my car back the mechanic told me that 2 lug nuts don't fit which I called BS because every lug should've fit (I've taken my tires off before) he said he gave me one lug nut that fits and he let me go with my car with 1 lug nut missing from my tires. And I asked for the 2 front tires to be replaced but only one was put on the front and the other in the back. Totally not what I wanted. This place has horrible service and only wants to get your money. Wouldn't of bought my tires there in the first place if I wasn't able to get them the next day. Discount my a$$ read more

Purchased and had tires installed on my 2013 Ram pickup. Talked to Doug a day in advance with which tires I wanted and he arranged to have them waiting for me when I arrived the next day. Even though I was early for my appointment, I was in and out in less than an hour. They even cleaned and dressed the tires. My tire pressure sensors were rebuilt, (I've heard horror stories about these) mine are working to perfection! Pressure showing on dash display is exactly what is showing on a very accurate pressure gauge. There is a big set of windows so you can see a lot of what is going on in the bays. The area is much cleaner that I have come to expect it tire service areas, and watching their technicians work was quite interesting as they seem to work in teams, everyone having a job in the process, quick and efficient. I saved like $300 on tires by having them price match it. The wait was a little longer than I expected, but it was very busy so I understood. We shopped around and when we called Discount Tire, they gave us three price quotes and said they could take his car today. When we pulled up within the hour of the 3 PM, we saw a line of cars wrapped around the building and zero parking spaces. I was worried we wouldn't be getting new tires today. But my husband walked in, and. Will helped my husband pick the best tires for his car and guaranteed the car will be done tonight. Even though they closed at 5 PM on Saturdays, Will assured my husband after they close, they stop taking appointments and start working on cars. This place was amazing. From even the first phone call they were extremely polite. We went in for a nail in my tire. They inspected all of my tires, gave their report, and then proceeded to fix my tire perfectly and for free. They ran extremely efficiently. Every guy on staff was so nice, helpful, knowledgeable, and willing to take the time with each and every customer. I spent all of 15 minutes waiting for my van to be done, but in those 15 minutes I witnessed the kind of top quality caring about customer service that doesn't seem to exist anymore. I noticed that I have a bubble on my driver rear tire so I took it to discount tire to have it replaced... I recently had the driver front and rear replaced at the end of February due to a huge crater in the road from the snow storm that had just passed. Anyhow, I always use discount tire and the warranty is never questioned. It's now the beginning of July and the guy in Streamwood discount tire is telling me that my tires are too bald and the tire will not be covered under the warranty. There's no way, I got a new one four months ago and I use my car to run errands, that's about it. I work from home. I facetimed my boyfriend and showed him the tire and he said it was not worn. I sent a picture to my dad who also confirmed. So basically this guy tried to get one over on me. I took my car to a different tire place and asked them about the Condition of my tire and they said it looks fine. The other guy at Streamwood Discount Tire had every excuse in the book when I told him I don't understand how it could be that worn after only four months. Oh that's how BMWs drive blah blah. To end this, I like discount tire in general, I feel that their prices are very reasonable, even without the warranty so I would not want to take advantage of it..but the guy definitely tried to take advantage of me, probably because I'm blonde and a girl. read more

I had been using Discount for the last 7 years for all my vehicles, but not anymore. After breaking my studs on a visit simply to rotate my tires, I was told by an employee there to "get it fixed at any auto shop" when I got my vehicle back. Not knowing what studs were, I drove off since they took one and a half hours to get the job done and I was running late. Having understood what studs were after sending it for a repair and getting an education on it, I must say I am appalled that Discount Tire told me to do that!! Even though he helped to submit a reimbursement claim for my repair bill, there was no apology from the store manager for letting this happen to me and according to the Claims rep I spoke to, he suggested that only half my bill be reimbursed and only because "I was a good customer". I finally got my money back in full, and I am not going back to Discount. read more

My tire blew out yesterday and I was so grateful I didn't hit anyone or anything. I woke up the next morning and immediately went back to discount tire. Now, I've been to this location a few times in the last few months and the only thing consistent about my visit was the guys I was working with. Assistant Manger Matt was quick, outgoing, professional and seems to care about his customers. Craig needs a lesson in customer service. If you can't have a professional attitude in the morning then maybe you should start your shift later. When I walked in, Matt was on the phone, another guy named Scott didn't acknowledge me AT ALL....his concern was locating a password for Grainger? Craig not only ignored me, but answered a phone call as I was standing in the lobby. When Matt ended his phone call, I asked for the manager and he identified himself as an assistant manager. He acknowledged that he noticed the same thing and apologized for the inconvenience. As always, he used his professionalism to calm me down and got me in and out. I will be writing a letter to Doug Holcomb as well as the corporate office. People come to you because they need help. The LEAST that can be done is offering customers respect and a smiling face. This place is by far the best discount tire store I had ever gone to. First I came in with my brothers car to get his tires fixed since he got sidewall dmg from the potholes chicago gives us and on the same side slash tire the pothole gave also, I came in and I didn't have the protection plan but since the tires where only 2 months old and barely used they price adjusted the tires for new ones and it came out to be pretty cheap and then I added protection plan just in case this happens again. Also the wait was less than a minute and I got helped out thanks compared to others I been through, I recommend this location to everyone read more
