Set a 4 pm appoint at 1:30. Arrived by 3:45 and was kept waiting till after 5 before our vehicle was brought in. I gave specific instructions on how i wanted the 2 tires place. 1 on the flat in the back of the truck then to be placed on the drivers side front. The other to be placed on the slow leak passenger side rear, then moved to front. Spare on the vehicle to be placed back under the truck till needed again. They completely ignored that and left us with no operational spare tire. They also did not replace a wheel cap. No effort, no service. read more

Dropped in on a Saturday morning with low tire pressure. I was in a hurry as I was late to an out of state party. All workers busy working on cars. I explained my problem and asked if they could check pressure. Not only did they take me immediately, they checked all 4 tires, added air where I needed it, let out air where I over filled. They also reset my computer gauge as it was reading wrong tire. When I asked what I owed, they told me nothing and sent me on my way. This is a group of people who understood my urgency and responded with care and concern. They explained how this happens sometimes and if it happens again to come back. Kindness is not something that corporate America is known for. In this case they went above and beyond to help my family. I bought a tire 8 days ago. Somehow I got a nail in my tire and it was not fixable. I was FULLY responsible for the repair and tire replacement because I didn't have a warranty. I am absolutely appalled by the service at the Palatine location!!! I went there to get my tire fixed, which they did. However!!! I got my car back and drove it home....to find out that my entire back up/pull forward safety sensors are not working!! WHY WOULD ANY OF THAT STUFF BE TOUCHED when my car was just brought in for a tire repair! Brian (store manager) has a Horrible attitude just like the front desk old-timer he's trying to get you to spend more money than what you there for (tires) and after the tires install the cars front end shakes because they didn't do a proper balance but got charged for. I had to go to a different Mavis location to check and to find out that they didn't do the balancing properly that's why my steering wheel was shaking violently (probably cuz I didn't want to spend more money on what they were saying they think I need to fix or replace). Beware of this shop and definitely not recommend it. read more

I went into Mavis last Saturday to have a small leak repaired and I had Sarah help me out. She made sure that I was taken care of and informed of when my car would be ready. Sarah is the kind of employee that Mavis should be proud to have, she takes ownership and treated the business as her own. You could see that in how she interacted with the other employees and customers. I have been a manager for the last 15 years and good people are hard to find that truly enjoy what they do. Fast forward to yesterday, I noticed my tire was still leaking air, I called Sarah and let her know and she immediately made me feel valued as a customer and asked me to come in right away so they could take care of it free of charge. The were extremely busy with other cars but somehow fit me in and took care of the leak for good. Sarah personally went out to the floor and was searching for the leak herself while managing the phones and the millions of other customers that came in during my visit. After doing some work on my front end (struts, cv shafts, calipers, ball joints, stabalizer bar links and bearings, all brand new I contacted Mavis for a front end alignment and dropped it off. Within 10 minutes I receive a call from Mavis telling me that I need new tires (completely untrue as I had checked depth while doing all the work and tires still had 5/32's tread left) or they can't align it??? I have been in the auto industry for over 30 years and working on my own cars and boats since I was a teenager. I asked to then have the vehicle returned and I would take it elswhere. All of a sudden they could do the alignment but I needed to understand the car would still pull??? When picking up the vehicle and paying I inquired if they test drive it after servicing and was assured they did. My CC receipt shows that I picked up vehicle at 4:33 and shop is supposedly open till 5pm. Upon leaving the facility I noticed a loud popping sound and the front end was significantly worse than when I dropped it off. I attempted to return to the shop after several minutes to complain and arrived to realized they closed early. The following morning I called Mavis and asked for the manager, spoke to someone extremely rude and condesending, and upon asking for his name I was hung up on. Called later and spoke to someone else claiming to be the manager who was also just as rude and condesending while giving me 8 different excuses as why it is not their problem. I demanded a refund as the service provided was not done correctly and was told Nope and was hung up on again. Attempted to call corporate customer service and was notified that it was a 2 hour wait to speak to a representative, I imagine that is due to many people complaining about this horrible company. I have taken the vehicle to another facility and had the front end aligned no problem and all without being pressured to buy tires that were not needed. I have already filed a CC dispute and will be filing a BBB complaint as well. I can only imagine what they are doing to less informed consumers. STAY AWAY - AS IS RUN DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS PLACE They will lie, cheat and steal to make as much $$$ off you as they can get away with. read more

This is seriously the worst place you can bring your car. The staff here is rude and very condescending. They also do a bait and switch on you. I initially came in for a simple brake pad change, and they gave me estimate of $1000 and say I need to change rotors. So I left and wasted 1 hour for nothing. In posting this review, I hope a Mavis Tire representative reads it and can address the issues. Purchasing tires from Mavis required three trips to their store along with wheel damage. First trip: Mavis tried to sell me a tire with a date code over 3 years old. I refused to accept it. Mavis reordered and said they'd call when the tire arrived. The call never came. Second trip: After having 4 new tires installed, returning home, and allowing the tires to cool, I found 3 of 4 tires were overinflated and multiple lug nuts were improperly torqued. I also found one wrong valve stem cap...too short to completely cover the metal portion of the stem. This is in spite of handing the car over to Mavis with 4 correct caps. Third trip: Obtain the correct cap. Was told both cap styles were correct. Not true. Post trip: While washing the car I discovered that Mavis had scratched the paint on one wheel next to a lug nut. Now I have to purchase touch up paint and clear coat to repair the damage. Given the above experiences, I can only wonder if Mavis performed the alignment check and tested the TPMS system and batteries. I certainly was not provided any actual results if the work was performed. read more

It slipped my mind to post a review from my first time visiting so here is my review a month or so later. Rudy was kind and very helpful getting my tire fixed. My original plan was to take it to Costco or Sam's tire center but a business close to my home referred Rudy and Maevis for service. I'm glad I decided to come here instead. By the way, I'm a mom who had her 2 kids under 2 with me. Time was just right, the team there worked efficiently and I was very happy with their service. Yesterday I went to Car-X to replace a bad tire. Hadn't been there in a few years (poor service). I got duped again. I called Mavis Tires this morning and got better pricing for rear shocks/struts that Car-X said I needed. Same quality of parts for a lot less $100.00+. Brian was great. I showed him what the other placed charged for the tires. He showed me on their website, the same tire that the competitor overcharged me for. We went to get our back tire replaced. Jaden pulled us into the back to show us that the front brakes are metal to metal and they need to be replaced. We declined and decided to take it to our mechanic. Our mechanic checked the brakes and said they were fine. He didn't even hear grinding when he drove it. Also, I was a little grossed out when Jaden walked back to the garage, from the front room, and spit a stream of saliva on the wall just through the doorway. Bought tires and paid for wheel balancing. Seemed to not drive smoothly so had my mechanic check it out when due for 7000 mile rotation. He confirmed they were not balanced correctly and I had my mechanic fix since I no longer trust Mavis in Palatine IL. Plus they were terrible to deal with when I got new tires. Brought of tires called Prinx tires. Turns out these tires are horrible and don't recommend buying, spend a couple of extra dollars on a better brand. I asked the guy at Mavis if there was any kind of warranty and he said no but that was after all four were installed. They did fine around town but on the expressway they were losing air and a small stick went through the sidewall. I am now ordering cooper tires because Mavis will not take them back even though I've only had them two months. read more

Bought new tires last October. One tire keeps going flat. Went in twice. They told there was nothing wrong with it. Had to stop and put air in it three times today. They won't honor there warranty. Spent almost 200 dollars for al the extended warranty. Mavis tires does not honor there warranty. I drive for a living. If that low tire pressure light warning light comes on I can lose my job. Today i went to the Mavis on Weber rd in Bolingbrook to have my Michelin tires rotated on my Expedition. Up arrival Keven the manager checked me in and about 10 minutes later my vehicle was on the rack...so far.. so good.. Then i walked out and watched 5 young guys playing grab-ass yucking it up under my truck. It reminded me of the auto shop at High School. Theybbproceeded to shuffle the front end lift around under my truck, having no idea how to spread it out for the larger vehicle. As the laughter continued, i watch them move it under the engine, trans support, and under transmission lines. They had no friggin idea what they were doing. I politely approached and asked if any of them had been trained with this lift. There was a resounding NO! At this point i had them lower the vehicle and remove it from the lift. Kevin the manager obviously embarrased, tried to recapture my trust. Was not going to happen. At this point i would never purchase tires again at Mavis, and recommend to others to shop around. Kevin was nice, and i felt sorry he is unable to hire qualified employees. Wont be long before that store is gone. read more

I would give 0 stars if possible. First of all, I waited over 10 hours for my car to be fully serviced (oil change, front brakes, back brakes, and front struts) and I had to come in 3 separate times because their staff did not prioritize the appointments I made and get my work done in a timely manner. I've never had slower service. Secondly, I wish I knew how disgustingly over priced it was here. I had quotes for some of the same work at another shop and I should've just driven further and taken their prices. Heads up, a synthetic oil change was $110 for me. Third, I had to go out and show the employee what was wrong with my car that they completely missed in their inspection. I will be taking my car to another shop to have them check the work I had done here because I do not trust it. I will never recommend Mavis to anyone, in fact I will adamantly recommend everyone to stay far away from Mavis. read more

I went in to get a LYFT annual inspection and I searched for NTB.. National Tire and Battery and on Google Maps it says that this place is NTB. I was trying to let the manager, Brian or Bryant, know but he starts giving me attitude that THIS IS NOT NTB, ITS MAVIS... uhh yeah, no shh .. I was just trying to be helpful and let him know that the business is labeled wrong on the web and he tells me that I should take it up with Lyft... at this point I think that this guy doesn't understand how the internet works. I tried to explain to him that I'm just trying to let him know for their good that it's not labeled right on the web. And he mutters the same thing, "take it up with them". Ok.. whatever, just let your business be overlooked on the web because of a Google Maps error. AND TO TOP IT OFF HE DIDN'T EVEN GIVE ME THE RIGHT FORM TO SUBMIT TO LYFT.. It's an inspection form for UBER! Even though it's basically the same exact form it still got denied by Lyft making me ineligible to work on Saturday night, the busiest night of the week. Jessica told me she would order the tire and it would arrive the next morning, and she would call me when it came in. The next morning, the tire was in, and Jessica called right away. I got promised next open car bay mine goes in. 2 other cars took my "promised" bays 1 after another. I had to bring it up to the manager.
