Wow that was great! Woke up to a flat tire today (chunk of metal in the tire I picked up somewhere) and the wheel lock key was nowhere to be found so I couldn't put my spare on.... Took it easy and made it to Discount Tire where Andrew met me in the lot. He took the time to chat about what he was looking at as well as build some rapport. Turns out he's in a metal band. Anyways, he's a really nice dude and did a great job. Robert drove the car around at the end and was very nice, full of smiles, and very polite. Never informed us that there was a GM Warranty on our Michelin Premier LTX tires and when I call it out to him , he lied and said those weren't the tires on the car. I am beyond impressed by this location. I woke up to a flat tire with a nail in it. After limping it over to this location they were able to squeeze me in. I was in and out with a repaired tire within 45 min. While seating in the lobby waiting, I visually watched the staff (especially Andrew) being extremely nice with new customers coming in. I would watch Andrew greet every customer with a smile and I would watch him physically running in the parking lot getting cars in and out of the bays to keep wait times down. Had an appt to have wheel rim cleaned due to leaking air. When I arrived they were running behind, so I left it. This was at 1pm. At 3 I called and reply "oh will get it right in. "Ya they forgot me. By 3:30 it was "done". Next day noticed pressure lower. 5 days later tire light was on. Guess what they didn't do it. They just put air in it. . I routinely have this done every 6-12 months on a couple rims. I can't afford new rims on a 10 yr old car. I'm a 68 yr female and I depend on them to do it right! Never have I ever thought that I would go to a corporate tire store and end up having to install my own tire! But that is exactly what happened today. Upon getting a flat tire and putting the spare tire on myself, I arrived at Discount Tire in Howell, MI at 8:00 AM on Thursday morning. The tire had to be ordered and fortunately it came in on Friday. When I showed up to have the tire installed, the worker rolled the tire out to me and said he would throw it in the back. SHOCKED, I said, "You're not going to put it on for me"? His response was that I could park the car and he would get someone to do it. The worker told me to wait in the waiting room. Please note that at no point during the time in which the tire was being ordered did I say I intended to change the tire myself. Why would I go to a corporate tire store if that was my intent? After an hour went by and I saw my car still sitting in the parking lot with the new tire just sitting on the ground behind it, I realized I was actually going to have to put the tire on myself. I am not a mechanic whatsoever, and the fact that I was able to put the spare tire on was a miracle in itself. While jacking the car up (in plain view of everyone working in the garage), the jack toppled over and the car fell slowly to the ground. A few minute later another worker appeared asking if I was OK. Of course, I wasn't and told him so. He brought out their professional jack and lifted the car back up and left. I put the new tire on and when he came to retrieve the jack he did double-check the lug nuts and "explained" it was a communication issue. There was absolutely no communication issue on my part. I paid for service that I did not receive. I told him I never thought I would pay a $21.99 installation fee and have to do all the work myself. He said the installation fee was for removing the spare tire and balancing the new tire. I informed him that NOBODY removed a tire and NOBODY balanced anything! Needless to say I will never return to Discount Tire. No matter how evil I think Belle Tire is, at least they never charged me for something and made me do the work. I have never written a review for a business before but I feel people need to know what to expect if they patronize this company. Imagine finding a place with worse customer service than Comcast. Even as I write this I can't believe any of this actually happened to me today, but it did! read more

Until these experiences, I had been a loyal customer for more than 30 years, and this is a more recent attitude, perhaps localized to this facility. This has been a very good store in the past. However, my son took his vehicle for a return visit there an had an unbelievably terrible experience. Mind you, he is 23 years old, not a child, but a responsible hard working college graduate on his way to Grad school! This store put tires on his car in May 2017, and refused to honor their guarantee on their work. Nothing has been done to the tires or car since they worked on it this past May. He had the paperwork in his hand and they refused to help him. A policy change! Also, he was told there was nothing they could do to help him and gave him no suggestions. I can't say enough great things about the staff and service at Discount Tire in Howell!! We were in town for Thanksgiving and needed a tire repair on our rental car. This could have been a real hassle finding somewhere open and being able to service in a pinch on a holiday weekend. Discount was the only garage open in town and they we really went the extra mile for us---a permanent repair at no cost, adjust our headlights and verified that the rest of our tires were in good working order. Went in today, they didn't have my tires, and they tried to sell me more expensive ones for twice the price. I couldn't afford it, so they said the best they could do is next week after I had already set up the appointment online for those specific tires.
