Sad to be leaving such a poor review for Discount Tire, as I've generally had good experiences here, but this visit was extremely frustrating and worth sharing. Earlier in the week, I called to schedule an alignment and was told to ask for a specific individual when I arrived. When my appointment day came, I asked for that person and was told they weren't working that day--an immediate red flag. During check-in, I clearly stated that if an alignment was recommended, I wanted it done. I explained that Honda had recently told me I was in urgent need of one. About 15 minutes later, another associate showed me what I believed to be my vehicle's alignment readings and told me they were "really bad" and that an alignment was recommended. I agreed--although confused, since I had already approved it at check-in. Another 10 minutes passed, and the same associate returned with a different alignment sheet and casually told me that my levels "weren't actually that bad." I pointed out that Honda had said otherwise and that he had just told me the alignment was necessary. At that point, he admitted the first readings he showed me were from another customer's vehicle. This was extremely unprofessional and a significant waste of my time. Despite this, I reiterated--now for the third time--that I still wanted the alignment. Ten minutes later, I was told they couldn't perform it after all because they didn't have the required part. In total, this visit wasted nearly an hour, only to end with a recommendation to go to another shop down the street--which, ironically, charges more than the Honda dealership. I now have an alignment scheduled with Honda on Monday. This experience was especially disappointing given that my dad and I recently spent over $2,500 on new tires at this exact location. They are usually diligent, but perhaps being a Friday afternoon, the staff simply wasn't on their game. Regardless, the lack of communication and professionalism was unacceptable. read more

I bought new tires and wheels from here and it was not a good experience. The wheels that I ordered were not there when I arrived for my appointment, nobody called to tell me this and I ordered them weeks ago. I got different wheels which was fine and once everything was on and I was driving home my SUV started to shake very badly at highway speeds. I called them and they said that this happens 50% of the time with installs and that I would need a separate part to make the shaking stop. Weird that they didn't say this was a possibility when it happens half the time. The part they needed wasn't in stock so I had to wait another two hours for them to get it. The most frustrating part is even with this new part, the car still shakes. I will not be returning. I would rather go somewhere else and spend more money than return to a place where they can't seem to get it right. Not worth it. read more

I experienced a slow leak in my right rear tire, so I visited on a Saturday without an appointment. My vehicle was repaired, and I was in and out in thirty minutes! Called around for quotes on 4 tires. The tires were for an old car and I needed to "get by" for another 2-3 years. Told them i wanted the cheapest tires i could get as the car was almost dead. They came in at 500 bucks. I had earlier been to Tire Warehouse and explained the SAME scenario. They came in at around a grand. DT had me in and out within an hour. Ill be back. read more

I have used this store for about 5 years Today, I went in for the twice a year swap out for snow tires. No appointment. Done in 40 minutes. I got a ride, but it was so fast, I should have just waited. Regarding the snow tires, since I bought them there its 'free' to get them swapped out. I had a nail in a tire and needed a patch. Even though I didn't buy the tire at Discount, they patched it for free and swapped the donut off my car and put the fixed tire back on! The level of service is entirely dependent on the customer representative that you deal with. Joe seems to be a good guy who is capable and cares about doing a good job. Had inconsistent results otherwise. Dropped my car off at 2 pm for a tire rotation and was told it would be done by 4 pm. Waited until 4:30 before Joe, who had just started his shift, finally fixed the situation, explaining that my car was never even put on the service list. Also, watch out for the tire insurance fees that may or may not be disclosed. Don't sign until a customer service representative has explained the charge to you and exactly what is covered. read more

I would normally do whatever repairs and maintenance I can on my own cars. But when my wife said her left rear tire on her 2019 Ford Edge leaked. Has only 14,000 miles on it. I suggested she take it to Discount Tire. When she returned home. She told me they plugged two holes in the tire. But they broke off a wheel stud. She said Discount Tire would pay for up to $80.00 of the repair. So they have a limit as to what they pay for their own mistakes. They suggested a repair shop. I am sure it would cost more than Discount tires limit. So I will repair it myself. I jacked up the rear of the car, Both sides. Put jack stands under the rear, again both sides. Removed the wheel. asked my wife. Did they give you the Chrome lug nut from the broken stud? NO. Send her back. While she is gone I get the broken stud removed. She returns with a lug nut. It doesn't match the other 4 that were on the wheel. Send her back. While she is gone. I located a genuine Ford wheel stud at a dealer about 16 miles away. Closest place I could find. Text her to go there next. She has my car. She returns. Plops 5 matching lug nuts on my work bench. What they did that I did not notice. They installed 4 Generic lug nuts that do not match the other genuine Ford wheel lug nuts. Threw the orginal genuine Ford lug nuts away. Why? She also picked up the new wheel stud. Which will require additional work to install. I had the brake caliper and brake disc off to remove the broken stud. I had to remove the wheel hub from the suspension arm to have enough clearance to install the new stud. Got it installed and all put back together. Discount Tire did not charge for the tire repair. (Must have felt guilty). But it cost us. 6 trips to discount tire. About 7 miles away one way. Trip to Ford dealer. Another 32 miles to the Ford dealer and back. Plus the cost of the wheel stud $14.31. Plus my afternoon. My wife hand taken a personal day off from work for other reasons. Did not work out so good for her. Attached is an image of the broken stud. Over torqued. Plus a image of a new nick in that wheel. That is the first nick in these rims. Also these idiots do not know how to jack up a car on the pinch weld. You should jack up both sides as to not put all the weight of the car on one location. Should be using either a pinch weld puck or rubber padded Jack. These idiots just used a standard floor jack and jacked up the one corner. Damaging the pinch weld. Tried to straighten it the best I could. I have purchase some sets of tires from Discount Tire. My 2013 Explorer need tires soon. I am going elsewhere. I should have looked at the leaking tire my self. Like I have done before. Could have plugged it without removing the wheel from the car. If I did it myself. I would not have Jacked the car up incorrectly and damaged the pinch weld. Broken a wheel Stud, or nicked the alloy wheel. read more

wow. i would give scott brown the manager of the lino lakes discount tire 10 stars if i could. after an early morning blowout on i-35 north in blaine i had my vehicle towed to this location because of its 4.8 stars rating on yelp. scott brown the manager showed up 90 minutes before the location was to open at 8 am and replaced my tire himself, gave me a great deal on a new tire, and had me on my way in 15 minutes !!! 75 minutes before the store was even set to open at 8. GREAT service like this at discount tire in lino lakes makes this my new tire shop for good and i live in plymouth. scott brown also said the plymouth location of discount tire was run by a friend of his and was awesome too. just fyi read more

Discount Tire in Lino Lakes was recommended to me by a friend, who said that they have great service. I scheduled an appointment online and ordered tires at the same time, which was super easy. I showed up, we went over what I chose, and I mentioned my current tires weren't so good in snow since they were worn down and he recommended a different tire than I chose originally but I decided to keep the ones I ordered. I have been here a couple of time because of tmps valve issues, and a leaky rim, The first time I bought the new tpms and they installed it for the price of the valve, second time, different tire, they replaced only the part that needed replacing at no charge, another time I came in for a slow leak and it was the crappy mag rims Dodge put on the Nitro, at that time they pointed out I needed tires, which was true, they offer a 6 month same as cash financing, so I put new tires on the Nitro, Any time I have been to this Discount Tire they have treated me and other customers as their #1 priority, watching the guys in the shop and they are like a bunch of bees.. working hard getting people's cars taken care of as quick as they can with quality.. Obviously this place does not need my business anymore!! I have been buying tires here since this place was built. I run 2 cars and a truck so I do buy a few tires. I stopped by this place on a busy Saturday to have a couple tires mounted and balanced. I bought these tires on CL just because I needed to get a few more months out of a car that I was planning on getting rid of and didn't want to buy new tires. I did not need to get these right away and said I would stop buy on Monday to pick them up. The manager, I believe Scott is his name, said he wanted to see the tires before I took them out of the truck. He proceeded to inspect them and then determined that he did not want to put these on rims, he did not want to "Take my money" as he mentioned about 4-5 times. I just said I need to pay someone to do this and I have been buying tires here since the place was built and after I drop these off I want to come inside and figure out tires for another vehicle. The tires I brought there were just fine, he actually mentioned it looks like I got a pretty good deal. He said I would be upset if they put them on rims and I got a blow out in 3 days. I said no, I just need these tires on rims. He then started to cop an attitude telling me to go to some garage that would mount and balance these. So I did. And now, why would I want to go back to this place to buy tires when the manager told me to go down the road to another tire shop to get tires mounted and balanced. Guess what. I have dealt with Tyler, Adam, and Scott who is the manager. I ditto the comments made by other posts. These guys are so honest and are truly concerned about doing what's right for you. They don't try to find things that are wrong with your car as does Tires Plus. They specialize in TIRES and they do it right. Had a slight shaking with new tires from them after 6,000 miles and they made sure to use equipment that had just been calibrated the night before so it was 110% accurate.
