This place is fine if you happen to get perfect tires, but if one of your new tires needs replacement, either due to a manufacturing defect or you were unlucky enough to have received a tire previously used as a loaner, then it sucks. I've been here several times, but the last time I came I experienced the worst customer service at any automotive related business I've ever had, including dealerships. I got two new rear tires this time; I only needed the rears because they wear faster, since my car is rear wheel drive. After the tires are installed, the car pulls to the right under acceleration. No biggie, new tires means I need an alignment, so I take it in. Nope, alignment is good, still pulls to the right under acceleration. Well it didn't do that before, what changed? Tires. So I swap the right and left rear tires. Loe and behold, now the car pulls to the left under acceleration. Upon inspection, you can see one of the tires is not new. It's very close to new, but not brand new, and unfortunately my car is super sensitive to that (sadly I can only ever purchase an even number of tires at once). So I go back to have a replacement, and this is where the bs starts. I get somebody from inside, explain the situation, and they offer to rebalance the tires. No. That's not what balancing the tires does, and certainly not when you're doing 30 mph, it's the tire. He then just stands there awkwardly, clearly not wanting to offer a replacement, I have to demand it. So we go inside, and the tires aren't in stock (this is normal, they're kind of oddball), but says there's a shipment, they'll be here tomorrow, and he'll call me - which IS odd because this location doesn't stock my tires but whatever, maybe I come here enough that I drove demand to the point they stocked them. So tomorrow comes around. No call. The day after comes around. No call. On the third day, near the end of the day, I call them, because I'd like to drive my car again. "Oh yeah I was just about to call you because our shipment just came in!" Uh-huh. Color me disbelieving. Then I get asked if I can be placed on a hold. Shockingly (not really) my tire is not there, and it is a different voice on the phone. I'm asked to explain the whole situation again, and then I get told how weird it is, because rear tires usually don't cause radial pull! Uh-huh. Have you really never seen a rear wheel drive vehicle before, or are you just trying to get out of replacing my tire? And of course now it's Friday, they've just called me back in the middle of writing this to tell me there's no more FedEx shipments today - because of course I waited too long for having given them the benefit of the doubt - and the tire will ship out on Monday so we'll probably see it on Tuesday. No. This ordeal started last Saturday, at this point I've been without my car for a week. I'll very slowly drive it on surface streets to a location that has it in stock, THEY will replace my tire, and then I will never again return to discount tire because they have obviously been trying to get out of replacing this thing from the start. read more

Great deal on Yokohama tires. First set and I think the best tire I've ever had on my 02 Dodge. I ran Michelins since the truck was new, but the AZ heat they just don't hold up. I had over half of the tread on the old tires but the side walls were cracked. So I decided to switch and glad I did! About $250 less than Michelins best deal! A shout out to the Discount Tire store at Power and McKellips. I recently did a search here for a place to get tires and someone recommended Discount Tire at this location. I went to the Discount Tire website and ordered my new Michelin tires, paid for them and made my appointment. I arrived for my 0800 appt at 0745. At exactly 0800 a pleasant man called out my name and took my car to the service area. At exactly 0825 yes 0825 another gentleman pulled my car up to the front door. Tires dismounted, new tires mounted and balanced. Within a minute the man behind the counter gave me my receipt and reminded me about me free rotations and out the door I went. Now that's service. The Arizona sun is tough on anything "rubber" on your vehicles. Steve did a great job picking tires for my car, the price was right, the warranty superb. I will start by saying that I am a major fan of Discount Tire and their workmanship and prices. I have been a customer of Discount Tire for almost 20 years. However, (this is where the 1 star comes in), I went yesterday to have the tires on my car rotated and the balance checked. I was met outside the door by one of the order takers to get my information. Funny, since no one else was at the inside stand. When I went inside, I found large computer monitors looking back at me on the order stands displaying not only my name but all of my personal information! That included everyone else in the the store as well! I was appalled. I am very careful with my personal information and I do not even take part in any social media. Then to find my name, address, phone number, information on my car displayed..... I just couldn't believe it! What would Discount be thinking to be displaying all customer's personal information like that to anyone who walks in the store? No reason was given why this was happening so I withdrew my order and I left. I won't be back either while this practice is going on. read more

On November 22, 2019 I ordered 4 tires from Discount Tire. The sales person told me to have them installed on Black Friday, November 29th and to pay for them at that time. He said I would get the 10% Black Friday discount. So I did that and I also opened a Discount Tire credit card which gave me another 5%. They gave me a sheet of paper showing how I would get the 15% back. So I submitted the rebates according to the directions. Together the rebates amount to $130.00. At first I got an e-mail telling me I was not eligible because I ordered the tires the week before Black Friday even though I had them installed and paid for them on Black Friday. Finally they agreed that I was entitled to the rebates and I was told it could take a month or so to get the Prepaid Master Cards. So I waited. Since I did not receive the rebates I called the Rebate Center on February 4, 2020. The person I talked to asked for my address and then told me they had the wrong address which was not believable since it was right on the invoice and the rebate form. He told me he would resubmit the rebates and he gave me new replacement numbers and tracking numbers. He told me I would get the rebates in 7 to 10 days. I did not receive the rebates so I called again. This time I talked to a person named Susie who told me she could n't understand why I didn't get the rebates but she would submit them again and I would get them in 7 to 10 days. Again I did not receive them. So I called again and talked to Cindy T. who also couldn't explain why I hadn't received them but she would resubmit them and she gave me new numbers and told me I would receive the rebates in 7 to 10 days. So now I am waiting yet again. It is clear that Discount Tires does not want to issue these rebates and they hope I will go away. So the so called Black Friday Event is just a scam to lure people into buying tires. I will wait these next 10 days which ends on March 11th but if I do not receive the Prepaid Mastercards I will file a complaint with the Attorney Generals Consumer Affairs Office in Arizona and I will contact the local news channel called 3 on your side which investigates consumer scams and fraud and reports them on TV. read more

2019 Better Business Bureau case against Discount Tire who chose to not reply to BBB, another strike against. This is what was filed: On September 27, 2019 I purchased set of 4 tires from Discount Tire and had them installed on my pickup. There was nothing wrong with the way the truck felt nor were there any warning lights when I brought it there. When finished, I drove it home 2 miles away and didn't drive it until October 12th, 2019 when my wife and I decided to take a day off from work and spend the day in the local mountains. (I drive a company vehicle and don't drive the truck much.) On the way to the mountains the Tire warning light came on and the steering wheel shook so much that after driving about 15 miles we cancelled our plans and turned around. There was an odd sound that was very much like a flat tire, coming from the driver side tire, but it was not flat. On the way back we brought the truck back to Discount to check the Balance, and left it there for several hours. Upon return, Discount Tire representative told me that the balance was fine and 1 of the sensors didn't register/work. We had no resolution and now had a vehicle that was un-safe to drive. Knowing that the problem described comes from unbalanced tires, we had to get a 2nd opinion, so on November 6, 2019 my wife took the truck to Costco Tire to check the balance. Costco found that all 4 tires were badly out of balance, and that 2 of the sensors were broken, one was left inside the tire hence the sound of a flat tire. We purchased all 4 new sensors and had the tires re-balanced. The vehicle drives perfectly fine now.
