I recently bought a used car, and because you just can't win at buying a used car, I expected to have some issues that would have to be fixed after buying it. Okay, fine. One of those things was that the tires were not balanced -- simple enough, so I took it to a chain tire place in Champaign last month. I wasn't thrilled with the service there, but I didn't really have any reason to complain either. A few weeks later, I put air in my tires for the third time in a month or so. I figured that with my luck, there was probably a leak in the tire somewhere. Sigh. I looked at local tire places online, and actually read the reviews of the place I had been to the first time -- which took away any desire I had to go back there again. It was a Saturday and I just wanted to get this out of the way -- but most things around here were closed. I remembered a family member mentioning that they had bought new tires from Discount Tires, so I decided to look them up. There isn't one in Champaign, but they were open on Saturday and I had nothing better to do, so I made the journey to Normal to get this taken care of. The wait was a little bit long, which was oddly more reassuring than the first place I had been to that had no wait. But they found the leak (bad seal around the rim) and also noticed that the place I had been to the first time had screwed up the tire rotation/balance, so they fixed that too -- all free of charge. All in all, very happy with Discount Tire. They did mention that they were considering a Champaign-Urbana location -- which would be awesome -- but even if not I'd still make the hour drive to the Normal location. read more

I was told by the dealership I bought my vehicle from that I was in need of new tires. The new tires would be my third set of tires from a vehicle I bought brand new, which my vehicle currently had just under 50,000 miles on it. The first set of tires was supposed to come with a 60,000 mile warranty on them and the dealership I purchased my vehicle from did not tell me this nor did they offer a prorated discount when the tires were changed just under 30,000 miles on a brand new vehicle. After 20,000 miles on the second set of new tires, I was recently told by the dealership that new tires were again needed. Again, no mention from the dealership that my second set of tires had a 60,000 mile warranty on the tires. I called the dealership and explained my frustration on being told I now needed a third set of tires from a vehicle that had just under 50,000 miles on it. I also explained that I was NEVER offered a prorated price on the first set of tires I replaced and paid the full asking price from the dealership and was now being told I needed a third set with no mention of the warranty or prorated offer again. After waiting a week to hear back from the dealership, and still waiting, I decided to call Discount Tire Store and got exceptional service from Fernando. I was able to receive a prorated discount and new tires put on for a great price.....and all within an hour of going in to talk with them! The staff was respectful, courteous, and professional! I had the best service today! I ordered a tire a couple weeks ago and called to check the status. Ty immediately began working on locating my tire and compensated me well for the delay in receipt of my original request. I've been in the store a handful of times over the past two years and have always had great customer service. Telephones are answered with upbeat, responsive customer service reps. I'm typically greeted upon walking through the door. The workers are genuinely positive, polite, and respectful. We had a low tire light come on while we were traveling and stopped at this Discount Tire Store in Normal, IL. We arrived 15 minutes before they were open, but they took us right in. They discovered a nail in our tire, removed it and patched it and we were on our way in 25 minutes. Since we had bought our tires at a Discount Tire Store there was no charge. Fast, friendly service and they seem to be located nearly everywhere. That is a real plus when you are traveling. read more

Not a bad place to get your tires done at. Their prices are relatively decent. It's difficult to get an appointment and have everything done when you're on a tight schedule. All in all I would choose this place over going somewhere else. The have the tires under warranty if you have them install the tires in their shop which is a plus. Just make sure you go back to get your tires rotated in a timely manner so you don't wear your tires out fast! read more

All of the employees are friendly at this location. Work is done quickly, and guaranteed in 45 minutes if you make an appointment. Prices are fair but they will usually haggle a little bit if you ask for a discount. Nice waiting area with free bottled water. Absolutely the only place in Bloomington/Normal for tires. read more
