i always came here for my services and I WAS always taken care of. I have a history of nails in my tires. They always saw it and know it. They USED TO BE HONEST also. I didnt feel that way on 3/18/24 and felt totally dismissed by one of them. They almost sent me on my way without checking any tire...and in fact There was a nail in my tire, it turned out. I'm glad I stayed and told them to check that tire.. He told me that the tire was still at 40 and didn't see a nail in it. But I just had it inflated from 27 yesterday by Delta sonic to hold me over so i can get it checked out. Long story short, I got a call back after I called and complained and they're going to make it up to me. 5/22/25 got an oil change and the guy said whoever put your new tires on didnt do it right. Got them here a month maybe prior. So i explained what the oil change guy said and they fixed it. I Go 8/25/25 as my tire light was on again thinking nail again. But they said my wheel was corroded and I needed new wheel. I was not fully informed or educated on what was needed fully and my interpretation of what they were saying was not matching what I got. and a guy customer there told me to put the old wheel back on and just get it fixed. As my mental state was declining and anti trust building they were still trying to sell me new wheels at discounted prices despite my hysteria and crying after the customer was telling me they were ripping me off. Trying to sell me all 4 new wheels or just the one new wheel closest to what I have now. I said im in no mental state to make decisions and they were still trying to sell me something. Finally they put the old wheel back on and refunded me. So I can think it over and get 2nd, 3rd opinions. Taking advantage of a single female that does not have male support in her life is NOT OK. PERIOD. even tho I usually ask the questions for understanding. But that guy customer made me feel these people totally played me and now im going for other opinions hoping I can still drive temporarily on the wheel til I get it fixed or replaced. I dont know who to trust with my car anymore. update!!! Went for a 2nd opinion and was told everything was fine!!!!! A little corosion but nothing that needs replacing at all!!!! These people LIED TO ME TRYING TO SELL THINGS I DIDNT NEED!!!!!!! I been going here for years and I am OFFICIALLY DONE WITH THIS PLACE!!!!

Clean roomy customer service area.

I bought from this place once before when I purchased some run-flat tires for another car. This time my front tire had a very slow leak so I figured I'd get it fixed. Jorge went out and checked the tread on my tires and told me they were getting close to replacment but I still had some tread left. (I decided to replace them anyhow. I do a lot of driving and the back two were replaced recently at another tire place. I didn't go back to them because of their incompetence.) Jorge found the exact tires in stock, gave me a price and mentioned the repair option for about $40 more. He didn't push it. He is a real low-pressure sales guy. He didn't push new tires, he didn't push the repair option. I added the repair option and left my car there. They called me in less than two hours and I returned to pick it up. Now this is where Jorge stands out above other service guys anywhere. When I got in line to get my car there were 3 customers ahead of me. While Jorge was servicing those customers he asked if anyone in line was waiting to pick up their car. (He did this when he was helping me earlier. To him, it's all about servicing the paid customers first. He feels paid customers shouldn't have to wait in line with people who might just be coming in for an estimate.) He multitasked to take care of the person he was working on while ringing up my tires so I could leave. Very cool. Then he took service a step further. When I got in the car I noticed a minor problem. I was going to let it go but decided to get it corrected. I walked back in and got in line. Jorge was helping a guy get some pricing and was heading outside to check the guy's car. Normally service guys are blind to anything going on around them besides their immediate customer. Jorge spotted me in line again and stopped to see what he could do for me. I mentioned the problem and he immediately talked to the service guy to get it corrected. This is the way service is supposed to be but rarely is. Jorge is unique. Besides Jorge being an outstanding sales guy, the place also has a great customer-focused attitude. Free bottled water or coffee while you wait. Free tire air checking and free tire repairs, even if you didn't buy the tire from them. I know giving free stuff will get customers in the door and then they can sell them stuff, but that's not the attitude here. If you need some repair they will mention it, but they aren't going to do the hard sell or upsell. This customer-focused attitude is why there was a steady flow of people when I went there on Saturday. And how much more did I pay to get this outstanding for the two front tires compared to what I paid the other, incompetent, big tire center when I bought the back two tires...? Less than $10. Like another Yelper said, too bad they don't to other car repairs because these are the kind of people who want working on your car.

This cleans right up with a wire wheel on a drill.

Good prices, extensive range of brands, efficient service. It would be nice if they could do alignments, but a good place to go for tires.

R&M Performance is hands down the best shop in Illinois…read more Honesty, integrity, and transparency are what I value most in the people I do business with--and Rei and Mark truly embody all of these qualities. From the beginning, Rei set the tone by reviewing my project thoroughly, being upfront about costs, and even asking follow-up questions to make sure his team could deliver the work at the highest standard. That professionalism was my first green flag. Mark handled the work on my car and went above and beyond my request. I asked for before-and-after photos to help me track carbon buildup for future maintenance, and not only did he deliver, he provided even more detail than expected. The results spoke for themselves: No more idling during cold starts, City MPG improved from 24-26 to 30-32, when I first bought the car off the showroom floor I was so impressed with the quality and transparency that I immediately scheduled additional maintenance and performance upgrades. It's worth noting that I drive from Libertyville to Palatine--often during rush hour--because the service, professionalism, and results at R&M Performance are far beyond anything else I've experienced. The distance and traffic are never a concern when I know my car is in such capable hands. The service was so good, I even brought in my wife's car. That alone should tell you everything. If you are looking for quality, professionalism, honesty, and reliability, I HIGHLY recommend R&M Performance.

I had both the engine light on and the air light on. The error code said misfire. They took care of my issues within the time specified and within the quote! When I picked up my car a couple weeks later, Marin said they weren't familiar with carburetors, just the opposite. He previously told me his mechanic came from Cuba and was an expert on these types of cars. I want to say Marin seems like a good guy, but he should've been honest with me. Also, work was done I didn't ask for. The valve covers and air cleaner were painted red. Even worse, the carburetor was taken apart and cleaned. He didn't ask me, and I specifically told him the carburetor was clean when I dropped off the car. Instead of changing the fuel filter, Eric (mechanic) cleaned it. Since he had taken everything apart he should have changed it, common sense. He also didn't change the thermostat. The metal housing of the thermostat was changed. Common sense is to then change the thermostat. Another issue I wanted fix is a choke issue. The car wouldn't slow down on a cold start after tapping the gas pedal. These cars need to rev high for at least a minute. This gets everything going. You then tap on the gas and the engine slows down. I told Marin it wasn't slowing down. Now the car starts up but doesn't rev high. It dies if you try to drive away. He apparently just disconnected the cold start screw on the carburetor to slow down the engine. Once the weather cools the car won't be able to start. I now need to take my car to another mechanic to correct this issue. I also need to find out why my car is leaking. I had him replace the valve cover gaskets. Hopefully that's not causing the leak. Finally, Marin never gave me a written estimate. I kept asking him for an estimate. Finally he verbally told me we were around $1,200. At the end he said the bill was $2,000. Unacceptable. He should have updated me every time more work was needed. Like I said before, he should've been honest and told me they weren't able to work on a classic car. Eric, the mechanic, is a good guy, but he obviously isn't qualified to work on a classic car. I'm really frustrated because I paid $1,900 cash and the car needs more work. The final invoice doesn't even detail the oil used and the valve cover gaskets I told him to use, as well as the antifreeze. Everything should've been itemized. The invoice also listed the car as a Regal instead of an Electra. Marin said his software didn't list my car

My daughter lives in the city and she brought her car out to me because her steering wheel wasn't "straight" and she was hearing a noise sometimes when she turned. I drove the car and couldn't recreate the noise she was hearing after circling around a parking lot for ~10 minutes. I made an appointment with Lindberg Automotive (after getting a referral to them from a friend) to get her car's front-end aligned. We dropped the car with the owner, Doug Lindberg, who is as personable guy as you'd ever want to meet. Doug called me after a few hours to have me come back over and look at the car because he felt additional work was definitely required. We got under the vehicle together, and I concurred with the issues he and his technician identified. Doug kept the vehicle overnight so his technician could make the necessary repairs, and I can't tell you how happy I was with the result. My daughter was also overjoyed with how her car drove. I could have taken the vehicle home and done the repairs myself (albeit much, much slower), but I was under a major time crunch given my daughter needed to get to work and home every day in the city. I trusted Doug to get the job done, and it was done quickly, accurately, and at a very reasonable price. I will be recommending Lindberg Automotive to anyone I know who needs a top-shelf, trustworthy shop for automotive repairs. I also told Doug that I'd be back whenever I had a repair I couldn't handle on my own. I love knowing I have a shop I can trust to do the job right if I need them.
