Nails in your tires suck, literally. They suck the air out of your tires and make you constantly stop to pump air into them. Luckily, I have a discount tire close by home so I took my car to see what was going on (they do free tire inspections). Walked in mid-afternoon and was warmly greeted by the gentleman working at the counter. He listened to my concern and came out to get information on my vehicle and checked me in quickly to get my tires looked at. It was a fairly busy day and was told it would be about two hours wait -- no problem. I had errands to run with my mom anyways so I left the car in their hands and off I went to run errands. I truly appreciated the fact that the gentlemen working at this location didn't try to pressure me into buying new tires, you know, the stereotypical "let's sell this lady new tires so we make money" mentality. I was told that they would look at the tires and try to FIX it -- yup, you read that right -- fix it before suggesting I needed a new tire, and if there was a problem with fixing it, they would call to discuss options, otherwise I would just receive a text letting me know my car was ready. Well, lucky for me, I got a text about an hour and a half later letting me know my car was ready. Woohoo! That means they fixed my tire! When I arrived, again I was warmly greeted and the gentleman gave me my key and also told me that the problem with the tire was that the seal around where you pump air into it was cracked so air was leaking out, but, according to him, it was an easy fix. And the damage done? FREE!!! Like what?! Talk about excellent customer service!!! I walked out a happy camper knowing my tire was fixed (for free), and assured that I wouldn't have to keep stopping to pump air in my tire. Thanks, guys! You're the best! read more

I'm new to Phoenix, and have never used them before. I did ended up going to Firestone first they couldn't help me so I called discount tire and Tyler was able help me right away and was expecting to pay something cuz most places charge for patching up a tire but when he told me it's free I was so surprised and told him I've never used you guys or never bought tires from here and he said it's still free. I was so surprised and just made my day. Cuz I was having a rough start of my day and discount tire turned it all around. I've been coming to Discount Tire as long as I've been driving (30+ years). This particular visit was to have my air pressure checked. During this routine visit, a nail was discovered in one of my tires. The tech quickly repaired my tire and had me on the road again in about 30 minutes. Thanks to me having purchased the tire warranty at the time I bought my tires (also from Discount), the repair cost me nothing. I like how the employees also walk out to your car to inspect your tires when you initially walk in. Such great customer service, and I always know what to expect no matter which store I visit. read more

Our tires were all showing low on air. We went to another discount and they filled 3, but said they couldn't do the front left, cause the valve stem was bent. We asked if they could fix it. They said no because it was too close to closing. Mind you it was 4:30, they close at 6. We called discount at 407 w bell Rd and Orlando said absolutely they would get it done tonight, and to bring it by. They worked past closing to get this valve stem replaced and it cost me nothing. I am driving to Vegas in 2 days and we really didn't want to drive with it like that. These guys went above and beyond to make sure our tire was fixed, and even though it cut into their Friday night, they never once made us feel like it was a bother. Excellent service!! read more

I've been here a number of times over the years for everything from tiny Toyotas to big a$$ work trucks and it's always the same. (I've also been to the other one down the road about a mile west - this review also applies to them). It's like going to the dentist, or an annual physical. You are there for a specific reason, and they are going to inform you of other potential problems that you're already aware of but have put on a back burner...because, you know...life and stuff. There's never a problem with them repairing/replacing a tire that has an object embedded in it, no matter how odd that object might be (2 headed screwdriver bit anyone?) as long as you paid the extra few bucks for the road hazard warranty. Inevitably, you'll find that they also want to add at least one more tire or 3 to the pitch. You already knew that. We're in AZ. Rubber isn't built for this heat. You know that one time a year that you have to drive in the rain and stop at the store with 34 other people buying wipers, yeah...same deal. The team here is efficient, super courteous, and attentive. Always has been. This is a locally based company and I've never had bad service. Wish more companies would follow their lead and deliver what they promise. They're probably gonna give you a sales pitch, no doubt, but if you decline they're okay with that. They don't push any upsells though. If you arrive in a Ferrari, your mileage may vary. But if yer in an Italian supercar, your car's on a trailer headed for the dealership anyhow, right? read more

This is by far the worst Discount Tire I have been to. I went in for a single tire change and what seemed to be quick and simple and as I waited I noticed some of the employees here just standing around and on their phone, sipping water and chatting while myself and others waited on them to service our cars. I went to the desk and asked how much longer of a wait and the man there responded that I had only been waiting for 17 minutes. Really? What a jerk, it's not like I asked for my wait timing, my question was based on the fact that the employees seemed to be lounging and slow as molasses instead of showing some urgency. Discount ftw! Easily 4.5 * (not 5 since they don't seem to wheel and deal on the price as much as they used to) A couple weeks after getting a flat on a remote trail, I get another flat on a forest road out somewhere between Strawberry and Camp Verde. Luckily, my trusty crappy spare was still working, so on it went and off I went. A mile or two out, still deep in the forest with no cell coverage, a two inch rock shaped like a fucking triangular arrowhead gashed its way into my spare which then hissed itself to death. Me, my 13 yo girl [edited from "a 13 yo girl" so as not to sound so creepy!], and two dogs then set out on a moonlit, muddy footed, half hour journey back to the spot where everyone else was camping for the night. We stayed until morning, and with everyone's generosity (campers rule!) ate a hearty breakfast and had a loaned spare tire installed with plenty of help (can I Yelp these guys? Five stars!) Home now, and I've gone shopping for tires at Pep Boy's (old dude gave crappy cust service - i know you don't only have one tire for me to choose from), Wal Mart (charges extra for everything if you have TPMS), and Firestone (decent price with buy 3, get 1 'free', but warranty can't compare to Discount). Back to Dicount I go, again, as I knew I probably would. I'm a loyal customer for over a decade now. Friendly, helpful, intelligent customer service. Took the time to explain why their warranty is so different and so much better than the standard or even the extra warranty you can purchase elsewhere. These guys give free repairs, whether you bought the tire there or not, using the philosophy that it's free for customers, and you're a customer that just hasn't bought tires, yet, but you will be back when you do need them. Me looks at my tire tread and finds that it's looking very low. Me notices $50 off 4 tires Black Friday weekend discount online for Discount Tires. Me drives to Discount Tire and asks them to look at my tire tread & wear since I think they're about ready for replacement. Discount Tire guy finds 3 of the 4 tires ready for replacement. Me shows the Discount Tire guy that the tires didn't last their full 50,000 miles as guaranteed by the tire warranty. Discount tire guy says no problem and gives me a credit of $14 per tire. Me mentions that I saw the Discount Tire $50 off 4 tires discount online. Discount Tire guy says no problem and gives me the discount. Me leaves with 4 new Yokohama 80,000 mile warranty tires for around $360 out the door. Very happy with Discount Tire, my only complaint might be that their installation/disposal fees, etc are a tad bit higher than say Costco. Other than that, wonderful experience. Their price has never been beaten between several competitors and they include free rotations and tire pressure checks simply for buying tires there. I have never had a negative experience with any of their staff. My most recent experience was me noticing my tire going flat overnight in the garage, had the initial "oh god, how much is this going to cost" moment and changed my tire. I never thought the day would roll around when I would give Discount Tire a negative review. I have always loved this company, they've never done me or my family wrong until now. Not long after getting my last tire rotation my bf commented that I needed to get my tires rotated, I tried telling him I just got them done but the tires told a different story. Then my dad noticed that my tires need to be rotated ASAP. So I stopped in Wednesday night to get them done. The guy walked out to my car to take a look and suggested it has been at least 11,000 miles, if not more since I've gotten them done, if ever. So, when we got to the computer and he looked up my information he noticed I had just gotten them done less than 5,000 miles ago. I asked him to explain how it's possible there's more than a 3 mm difference between the front and the back if I had them rotated so recently. He tried blaming the weight of the vehicle and my driving habits, but we both know that wasn't the case. The bottom line is they DID NOT actually rotate my tires. I took my car to a different Discount Tire location the following morning in addition to another "unnamed" tire store to get their opinion, based on their comments. They all agreed something wasn't right, there is NO way my tires would have looked like that if they were just rotated. Also, if you're going to complain about the customers after they call in with questions, do it quietly so other customers can't hear you. I visited the store on 7th ave and Bell rd on November 11th for tire repair and rotation which was covered by warranty. I dropped off my vehicle and explained to the technician that there was a nail in the front left tire. The technician told me it would take about 2 hours and I waited. Now a week later I realized that same nail in the exact same tire in the same place! Nothing was done for the 2 hours I waited. I sure hope it's not discount tire policy to lie to people and waste 2 hours of their day! read more

I am definitely NOT a car savvy person so let me put that out there first. My tire pressure light came on in my car on Saturday evening so I made an appointment to come in on Monday. Upon initial consultation it was evident I had a flat tire. I bought a new one and the sensor was turned off and I was good to go. I was well taken care of by Josh from start to finish. Then a couple days later the sensor went back on. I rescheduled another appointment to have it looked at. I received a survey and let them know I was annoyed to have to come back again. The manager Chris called me and let me know he was going to fix the situation. Then he let me know another manager Mike would be there to help. I showed up this morning and Mike assisted me when I first arrived. After an inspection I ended up having a nail in one of my other tires by pure coincidence. Josh presented me my keys at the end and went over things with me at the end. I was very impressed with the follow through and great customer service I've had from start to finish on both occasions. This is perhaps the best service I've experienced with anything related to my car. I have been in a few times for minor tire repairs and to have my oil changed and tires eventually changed. Each time everyone has been very friendly and the service is quick. Edit***** My 1st review was really too harsh. In the end I got decent tires. The problem was it took several visits over the period of 2 weeks to get them to acknowledge they sold me crap tires. Brand new tires that shook, vibrated, and shimmied all over the road. The car was unsafe to drive, each time I went back, Discount tried to up sell me or told me my car was driving perfectly normal. They finally agreed to throw another set on, fixing all issues. FYI, the car is known for exceptional handling and is only a couple of years old, the car wasn't the problem. read more

Just had my tires rotated. I purchased these tires within the last six months. I showed up an hour after they closed but the bay door was open and a few staff members where finishing up some work. We were greeted right away and were told they could rotate our tires in just a few minutes. I set up an appointment time for 3:45 so I wouldn't have to wait for my vehicle to go through the line, I called hours in advance and when I got there they were very nice and customer service was up to par but I had to wait 1 hour before they even took a look at my vehicle not to mention another 45 minutes to complete the task. brent and his team are the best. he runs a great business and is a fantastic manager. they didn't originally have my tires since I need run-flats for an odd rim size. i needed all my tires replaced , but one had TWO nails and needed to be replaced that day. he called multiple other locations and looked at where i can get a tire that works for my car ASAP, it was a very busy day for him but he stepped out just to help me since it is my only vehicle. he found a location with a tire for me that day, and we ordered the rest for another day. i am very very happy with his service and i will be coming here every time i need.
