Let me tell you a little story about my encounter here at Discount Tire.. I was on my way back to CA and you know me, always on the go go!! I fly more than I do drive when going back home, but this was my first time back to CA in my Big Bertha sinceI moved out here in December. I always make sure my tire pressure is good to go before embarking on any road trip. Discount Tire was the first place that popped up on Yelp since I literally live around the corner. I arrived shortly before 10 am on a Monday morning. There were a few cars ahead of me but the line moved pretty quickly. So this very friendly guy with a nice smile known as Jason B. tells me he'll take care of me, and he went right to work doing his thing. It only took a few minutes, but when he was done, he came back to my window and informed me that my spare tire needed to be flipped. Something about the valve being turned the other way, and that if I should happen to need it during my drive back to San Diego, it wouldn't be good. That kinda freaked me out, so I told him I didn't have time to do it right then and there, but I might have time to have it done while in CA. He smiled politely and said that if I didn't get it done there, that he would be here when I got back. Turns out I stayed a few days longer than I had planned on, and so I went back today. Once again, I had the pressure checked since I drove another 300 miles back to Phoenix. And once again, he was out there doing the hustle. It was finally my turn and I said, "Ahhh.. Mr. Jason B., we meet again!" Lol He remembered me, and did the work needed. Tire pressure check, followed by the spare tire thing. This time, Chris in the red shirt came out and told me my spare needs to be changed. BB is 12 years old, so the spare is showing its age, I guess. He gave me a quote on the cost and so I'll have to return again one of these days. I will need to make a 3rd visit because I totally forgot to have them rotate my tires!! Ayayayyyy! I had the oil changed before I left CA and I always have them done at the same time. Oh well... I guess I'll just happen to run into Jason B. yet again. =) I mean, he DID call me his "return customer," hehe... That I definitely am, and because of the great customer service with the best smile, I have found my go-to place for all things tire related! 3rd check-in coming soon (guess who the Duchess is?!)! I went in for a routine tire check and was told I had only 5% tread life left and needed four new tires very soon. One tire was allegedly so unsafe they wouldn't even inflate it. That sounded extreme, so I got a second opinion. Tires2Go found a nail in that tire, repaired it, rotated all four, and confirmed I had 40% tread life remaining. I'm all for caution, but this felt like fear-based upselling. I left Discount Tire feeling pressured and confused. I left Tires2Go feeling informed and cared for. I received a recall notification on my tires last week and went in to see the manager Josh Tarnow. Josh checked my tires and agreed they qualified for the recall and ordered replacement tires for my truck the following morning. I arrived for my appointment and Josh informed me he wouldn't change my tires out even though he admitted doing the same thing to five customers the week before. Ordered 4 Michelins for my car online and went in to have them installed. Was told 2 of the tires would have to come from the warehouse and I'd get a call to make sure they arrived at 4 pm. No call. Checked my email and found out they arrived so I made a reservation for 11 am the next day. Arrived at 10:50am and checked in. My car made it to the installation bay at 1:05pm and was done at 2pm. Meanwhile a silver BMW that arrived after me was taken in and serviced. Bonus-my right rear wheel was gouged by the tire machine so I got to spend additional time getting it repaired. 5 weeks of dealing with their 3rd party claims department in Ohio. I have four vehicles and they only go to Discount Tire - specifically this location. I've purchased at least 3 sets of tires over the past 4 years and always purchased the road hazard warranty. I even would replace as recommended by my sales rep. We've been hit with some serious issues that have exhausted savings. I picked up a nail, my new guy at discount couldn't be more excited that he couldn't patch it (it was way to close to the side wall). My truck literally has 11,000 miles on it so we're not ready to throw $1500 at it for new tires. Just had to replace the one OEM tire. $375.00!! "Sir, have you heard of our road hazard warranty?" YES, I ONLY TAKE MY VEHICLES TO THIS LOCATION AND I'M A LOYAL CUSTOMER FOR THE 12th TIME. Then proceeded to try to sell me the warranty for the remaining 3 tires. So a nail in my fairly new tire was approaching $525.00. The money needed to be spent, but we've been hit so hard with expenses this guy could have pretended to care. Instead, I will never set foot in this location again. Enjoy your one off's from the I-10 who are just passing through town and need a quick repair. 4 vehicles and I drive around 50K miles per year. I came into get a quote to replace all 4 tires and they told me to wait to call the manufacturer and verify lead times which is completely okay. After 30 minutes of waiting they didn't get back to me and started taking care of other customers. I guess they have too much business already and not don't really want new customers. Later, they tried to call again and said they have ordered the tires and would be delivered Tuesday. I spoke to someone in the store 3 times. Then Thursday they call me and tell me i have been unreachable since the week before and they called be 6 times and couldn't reach me. Even though i told the person i did speak to them 3 times he didn't believe me (lol) but then he tried to lie about how the tires were coming from different stores(completely opposite of what the person earlier in the week told me. They said they ordered it directly from the manufacturer to prevent it). So far, it is such a frustrating experience. All i want is new freaking tires on my car man and all this hassle and drama is just unnecessary. I would avoid this place at all cost. Tire prices are almost same in every other store, these guys put secret fees on checkout which brings the total the same as Firestone or other places. So just go to another spot. read more

You simply cannot set appointments and expect your customers with appointments to wait 20 minutes in line with walk ins to check in. Not ok. Appointment system isn't working here. EVERY TIME WE GO FOR AN AIR CHECK. Nearly an hour wait!!! Would you like to know why? Because anyone can have their tires air checked there. I have 5 vehicles that I get tires with AT or DT. 10s of thousands of dollars of tires in the last number of years. And the thanks I get is to WAIT WAIT WAIT!! This is by far the BEST Discount Tire location in the Valley. The guys working here are so kind and helpful. I drive out of my way (despite living closer to many other locations) because the customer service can't be beat. I needed a tire replacement on a rental and they went out of their way to help make it a seamless process. Long story short... I had a flat tire, took my truck to this Discount Tire location on a Saturday. Tire was unable to be fixed. They said the tire was ordered and it would arrive Monday. They would call me but did not receive a phone call. I called on Weds., they said the tire was never ordered. I had to wait until Sat. to receive tire. I took my truck in to have new tire installed, tire was installed but they removed one of my good tires and left the defective tire on my truck. This is terrible service and unacceptable! This place does not even deserve one star! read more

Came here just to get some air in my tires today. The one man filling the tires I watched walk away from the vehicles just about every time they came up for air chatting with co-workers. After 40+ minutes of waiting in line I finally got up to get air and of course his battery was dead and left once again. He dragged out filling my tires and basically stood directly behind my vehicle as I tried to back out. Just go to the big O tires if you need air. Nicer people and very quick. read more

Three stars because the end result is good. I also like the clean, roomy location inside. That said, making an appointment doesn't seem to make a difference. I made an appointment to get four new tires @ 9am. Two hours later my car was moved into the tire bin. Total time to complete, 2 1/2 hours. No bueno. This place has been our tire store since moving to the area. Many cars have gotten new tires. Most transaction go thru with no issues some don't go as smoothly. During each transaction, though Discount stands by their work and assists when there are issues. Don't see that a lot in car repair. Now one needs to make an appointment for tire work, but that is the world we are in now. They are quick still and have always provided the best customer service. By the way, No appointments needed for tire air check. All the employees at this store are great but Sebastian has really gone out of his way to provide above great service.
