This place has been our tire store since moving to the area. Many cars have gotten new tires. Most transaction go thru with no issues some don't go as smoothly. During each transaction, though Discount stands by their work and assists when there are issues. Don't see that a lot in car repair. Now one needs to make an appointment for tire work, but that is the world we are in now. They are quick still and have always provided the best customer service. By the way, No appointments needed for tire air check. All the employees at this store are great but Sebastian has really gone out of his way to provide above great service. Three stars because the end result is good. I also like the clean, roomy location inside. That said, making an appointment doesn't seem to make a difference. I made an appointment to get four new tires @ 9am. Two hours later my car was moved into the tire bin. Total time to complete, 2 1/2 hours. No bueno. I totally destroyed the rear tires on my Mercedes SL55 AMG on my way to visit my mom from San Diego. I ordered new tires on their website and they were available to install the next day. (Chandler Blvd. location) As usual, the shop and crew are always clean and professional. Tyler Foisy, Asst. Mgr. greeted me and the installation process started right away. Unfortunately, they discovered a problem with the lug bolts and spacers installed by another vendor a year ago. They advised me in detail what needed to be done but, could not complete repairs in their shop. I took to car back to a local dealership to get the issue resolved. Tyler assured me they would take care of me the same day. I ended up taking my wheels back in my mom's car and Tyler had a tech ready and waiting for me to finish the install. They even loaded the wheels into the car. They made an obviously frustrating and time consuming more bearable. This is the reason I'm a loyal customer for life. read more

Then, after posting on Facebook, I was assured that someone would contact me and two weeks later, still nothing. So, I would rather spend $168 more at Big O Tires just to be treated with respect and good customer service. Discount Tire just lost a 19 year client. The next day when I arrived, by 1:02 pm my car was in the bay. It was fixed quickly and I paid what I was originally quoted. To sum up: 1. First visit - Fast and efficient service 2. Been using Discount Tire for years, but really getting tired of the total disrespect they show the vehicles they work on. Took two of the kids cars in today for tires. 5 tires on one car (this will be the third set of tires for this particular car) and 4 tires on the other (third set for this one). The tires purchased were what they refer to as Best and were not cheap. One car now has two damaged lug nuts. Went to check the torque and the socket won't slide on as they are so mushroomed. The car had an average MPG on the now almost empty tank of 26 and was 19 when the car was picked up. Also the AC was cranked to the max. The other car they couldn't even put valve stem caps on three of the tires. Also, if they tell you it will be about 60-90 minutes you can double that as apparently besides having trouble with installing tires they are not too good with time either. read more

I went in to have tires installed. I was given some ridiculous quote at first by someone who worked there to install them I don't know what that was about. He was definitely smoking if he thought I'd pay double price. Yea right. But then someone else helped me and gave me the price it should have been in the first place so I went through with it. Learn your numbers whoever you were first guy! Anyway, they did a great job and everything came out perfectly. While I'm sure they will take care of me, I specifically made an appt and was told I had to wait on an 8 person deep line before I could be assisted. Why would I make an appointment after waiting in a similar line yesterday just so I can wait in another line the next day? Appointments need to be a priority, I took the extra step, I waited a day and now I'm stuck on line. Yes I'm annoyed and aggravated, and will wait on the line and be respectful to the help here, but this is wrong. If I make an appointment, I expect it to be honored. Apparently an employee understood the frustration and helped the people (myself included) in line with appts and didn't force us to wait on the long line. I checked in on the app when I arrived and then they called out my name, and I got to go to the front of the line since I had pre-paid and scheduled appointment. I went to the Discount Tire in Maricopa Az. I had the best service ever from an auto place. I had a nail in my tire. Chandler greeted me and got me into the system. I was in and out of the shop within a half hour. Chandler and Alex were amazing. Chandler updated me after they looked at the tire and the location of the nail. Alex explained everything he did with the tire and to repair it. Ther was no pressure for "upsale". Did recommend new tires soon, my tires are from 2014. Being a snowbird the car doesn't get a lot of miles. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone needing tires. I will definitely be back here for a set of new tires in the near future. Ugh, ETA For Completion Not Very Accurate! Carlos greeted me and was friendly. We had a slow leak in a tire on our 2017 Accord and thought we would get it fixed quickly in a Tuesday afternoon and get us tires rotated and balanced at the same time. Carlos told us it would be 90 minutes... We were hoping for sooner but went shopping in the strip mall for a bit and then came back. So after 90 minutes our car had not been touched yet let alone brought into the bay for the quick 30 minute job... I asked Carlos and he apologized and said it would be another 20 minutes.... My issue is that my time is valuable to me and I don't want to hang out for 2-3 hours for someone to do 30 minutes of work... It would have been better if they just said we have some people ahead of you, would you like an appointment for later. That way I wouldn't live at the shop with nothing to do but write yelp reviews.... Otherwise discount tire is a reliable spot to get tires and usually has good service. read more

I had a very positive experience with this store last Friday. I was getting serviced down the road, when they pointed out that there was a nail stuck in the tire. They offered to replace the tire on the spot, then I remembered that I purchased the last set of tires at Discount Tire. I called and asked the guy if my tires were still under warranty, and sure enough they were. After they finished my car, I came down to get the tire patched up with no appointment needed. I waited in the lobby for about 40 minutes and read some outdated car magazines, but lo and behold they were able to patch the tire for no charge. I was generally very satisfied with my experience at Discount Tire in Ahwatukee. Though, truth be told, I wasn't planning on getting tires here. After researching tires and prices for a few days, until I was bleary-eyed, I actually had chosen the nearby Sam's Club (online) for my tires. However, one of my worn tires was losing so much air that I was filling it up every day, and after a few days of that, it was getting very old, very fast. So I now I needed new tires, and I suddenly wanted them much sooner rather than later. But to get the tires I had just picked out, Sam's Club requires that you order the tires, and then have them shipped to the store 3-5 business days later. But I needed tires NOW! I didn't really want to spend the next week putting air in one of my old tires. So, as fate would have it, I ended up requesting a price match with Discount Tire through their website. And less than an hour later I received a phone call from one of the salespeople at the Ahwatukee location beating both the price of Sam's Club on 4 tires, as well as the installation (mounting/balancing) price of Sam's Club. And they can install the tires today, RIGHT NOW, not next week! Pretty impressive. So I verbally agreed to a price, "out the door." Though once I got there, the salesperson stated the price quote over the phone did not include sales tax (an additional $41), which makes a little bit of a difference on the final, "out the door" price, if you ask me. I'd be very careful about quoting people exact prices, and leaving out the ($41) sales tax from the "out the door" quote, as that could be construed as being deceptive. Nevertheless, I was still saving $60 with the price match, and the tires would be on my car shortly, so I wasn't complaining. But I could imagine others not being too happy with the sales tax not being mentioned in the price tag "out the door." Now I do like the fact that Discount Tires offers a free rotation/inspection at 6k-8k miles, but I was a little surprised that there was absolutely no mention on what to expect from tires until they're properly "broken in." (It doesn't cost anything to tell customers who just handed you enough cash to finance a small army how to best drive your car immediately after buying new tires - as in you're not going to be able to take corners or stop as you otherwise would with broken-in tires.) I'd expect that lack of communication from Wal-Mart, but this place, on the other hand, is a national chain tire store! Anyway, I was told it would take 40 minutes, so I whipped out my laptap, only to discover there's no Wi-Fi, and that meant that I actually had to work while I was there; rather than mindlessly cruise the Yelp website (which I wanted to take a picture of me doing) while I was at Discount Tire! Though, my working experience there was very short-lived because my car was done in less than 20 minutes, with some pretty nice tires at a great price, and in a very timely fashion. If you do a walkin, you will waiting 3 plus hours. Also their online appt system allows for people to triple book for the same appt time so they are over whelmed with customers and wait times are extensive even with an appt. Corporate needs to fix the online appt system so customers dont have to wait so long.....as well as hire more mechanics. Corporate please help this store out. Tire Mill. Tried a different place than my usual to save $100. Totally not worth it. Ended up getting refunded and going to my regular place. Ordered a specific tire (4 of them!) on a Friday. Employee said they should have them by Sat or Sun. I made appointment for Monday, "just in case" and when I arrived at 1:30, I waited 20 minutes to be told that the tires had not come in. I did not get a phone call and there is just NO personal service there at all. I got my $100 deposit back and returned to my usual place.
