I drove 40 minutes through a snow storm only to learn they stopped doing air checks 5 minutes ago and refused to assist. The company has clearly gone downhill. Kudos to the team for patiently not only repeating the answer over and over with each new curious customer but also dealing with other inquiries with just as much patience and care, taking the time to go over multiple options suitable for each customer based on their needs and budget. Not one hint of a bored, monotonous tone to be found anywhere in this shop. During my wait, I smiled in seeing a mechanic actually bringing a customer's tire rim in from the garage to better visually present and explain the issue to a customer in detail before presenting repair options. I don't deal with car issues often, but often enough to know that this this level of service isn't the norm in most places. The customer service here shines, whether at the counter or in the garage. This place continues to be one of the great wonders of the world. Who knew that fixing flats could be such a great experience? This place gives reasonable advice, does not try to oversell anything, and will not let you drive on unsafe tires. Couple that with prices that are more than fair and friendly employees that seem happy to help you fix your flats or air up your tires for free and there is really nothing bad I can say about my experiences here over the years. I have bought many tires from them over the years and have never been sorry, especially when something goes wrong with one of them. Today, I noted a tire low on air. They tried to air it up but the psi was so low that they would not simply air it up without taking it off and inspecting it for a leak because they were worried about the tire being safe to drive on. A small leak was indeed found and fixed all while I sat in the car enclosed and socially distanced from others and everything occurred in under 45 minutes. Plus, the cost to me to fix this was exactly $0. Getting a flat tire can really ruin your day but the ease of fixing it here from a crew that seems efficient and happy to help really made this so simple that it is impossible to find anything wrong. What a wonderful experience at Discount Tire. I came in today when I noticed my tire gauge lit on my dashboard. I assumed it was low tire pressure so I drove in to the Discount Tire in Plymouth (MN). I first met Stanley- he checked all four tires and said that unfortunately, I had a nail in one of my tires. He then said to go see Ryan and they would schedule me in to get the tire fixed for FREE. Ryan was super. He said I could wait for 90 minutes and get the tire patched, or make an appointment. I went on line, scheduled an appointment and came back at 12:45. The job was done in 30 minutes and off I went. I always purchase my tires at Discount Tire for a number of reasons: great prices, professional installation and service, and because I deal with people like Stanley and Ryan. Very easy to schedule and but tires online. However, waiting 15 minutes to even get acknowledged for a scheduled appointment while the manager sits in the office and doesn't get up to help. It's extremely frustrating and unprofessional. Especially as a manager. How can we expect your employees to give good customer service when your manager can't even be bothered to help them give good customer service. Besides that check in, the experience was ok. Month to month they have online special so make sure to time your purchase. You can save more if you use their CC a lot of the time. I ordered a whole set of tires for my car via their online site, and based on their projected date of arrival (12/04/2022), I setup an appointment for 12/10/2022. They called and announced that my tires had arrived early, 11/28/2022. I called on 11/30/2022 at 9am and took a chance that there might be a spare appointment. Kind of a long review and after going here 5 or 6 times for the one issue, ultimately they did get it fixed which was good, I'm just irritated on how long it took to get there. I ordered new black rims to go with the red and black car I have. These had a plastic insert that did not come with the rims so after feeling a vibration, I went in to find out that they were installed without the plastic hub insert. Second stop, the inserts were installed but vibration stayed. Went back to get it looked at again and was insistent it was a balancing issue, DC re-balanced all four tires along with swapping a tire they thought was bad. Vibration persisted. Swapped out rims with a different model. Vibration persisted still and went to another vendor who, after raising the car up, just spun the back wheels to find that you could visibly see that neither of the back rims were centered. This is something that I would have expected DC to have done after the second or third time there. Second vendor put the OEM rims on the back and left the front new rims on the car. Drove over 600+ miles with the OEM rims on the back and new rims on the front on an out of town trip just fine. DC ordered new inserts and a week later installed them. Same problem, vibration persisted. Contacted regional office as I needed this resolved one way or the other and went back to store to get a refund. Manager offered one last thing to try so figured it was worth a shot. Last try before getting a complete refund and DC ordered rims that were the exact hub diameter for the car and exact specs as the OEM rims. This did the trick and the car has been working fine every since. I'm happy that eventually, they did get it fixed. My irritation came from the fact that they pushed the narrative that it was black rims and a balancing issue instead of trying to take a deeper look at the problem after the second or third time of bringing it back for vibration issues. read more

My phenomenal experience started with a 4:40 pm phone call answered by Marvin. I had just discovered a screw in my front tire and air leaking. Marvin said we close at 5pm, if you can make it before we close we'll stay late to get it fixed. I got to the shop at 4:50, Ryan got my info, he checked my car and saw the screw and then had Alex get the car in the shop for a repair. I watched Alex do the repair work, I thought he would be rushing around to get the job done and get me out of there because it was quitting time, but no. Alex took time to get every step of the repair done correctly, and showed me the screw that was removed. Alex finished at 5:10pm. Last winter I purchased snow tires from Plymouth. They told me to come back and they'd swap them out for me in the Spring. When I went home I found a rebate on the tires. Well you would think that the store you buy tires from would have known and given a heads up. First, they should give a recommendation for when that should be based on temp. Thank goodness a friend clued me into that. Secondly, I made an appointment and went in only to leave with a $76 bill for 'shop' fees. Well they had two opportunities to tell me that rotating the tires on and off didn't come with the tires. Then to top it off when I said I wish I had never bought the damn tires to begin with, they insulted me by saying that I was actually saving money because my tires wouldn't be wearing out as fast. Their integrity is down drastically since I first went a couple years ago when I purchased my regular tires. I will never be back! read more

In nearly 10 years of coming to this location for winter/summer tire changes, I had only two minor issues, both of which were promptly followed up on and resolved to my satisfaction. Discount Tire does one thing, and they do it well. If you've never put winter tires on your vehicle, try it. There is a huge difference in safety and control, and it's totally worth the minor hassle of switching wheels twice per year. On that note, I suggest getting a full second set of wheels with your winter tires.
