I usually go to Walmart because the location is much better and I can browse and shop while I wait; but their auto-care center has been closed and remains closed during the coronahoax. Purchased new tires, waited a couple hours to have them installed. Less than a week later, got a hole on the outside of one of my brand new tires. Came in to have it replaced, was told it would take 3-4 hours. I left my rim at the store as I had already put the spare on myself and had to go to work. Came back the next day and they told me it would take 1-2 hours. Manager was rude and absolutely no help. Ended up taking the tire and doing it myself. Did not return my locking lug nut when tires where rotated. Replaced locking lug nuts with ones that don't lock. Discovered this when I went to get new tires and they said they did not need the lock as I I don't have locking lug nuts .. wrong I have had this car for 4 years and only used discount tire and always had them before ? read more

My car had a screw in the tire that I thought would cost me a new tire but it turned out to be minor damage and they send me on my way after checking for any damage or air leaks which there were none. I come to this Discount because it is 1 mile from my house. Usually do a good job but what drives me crazy is that I HAVE an appt to get tires put on and I'm sitting here 45 mins after my appt time and my car has not moved. You think with an appt that would mean something but it really doesn't. This is the 3rd time it's been like this and I can't stand it because I set an appt because I schedule it in my day. These guys have repaired tires that they didn't even sell, so it went without saying that when I had a hard flat and knew that I would need a full set that I would go here. Showed up on a Saturday just before lunch (without an appointment) expecting to spend the afternoon there. Instead, I was out the door in less than 1/2 hour with four new tires. I visited Discount Tire today because one of my tires was low on air. Since there is a lot of construction in my neighborhood and I have had 3 flat tires since moving here!, I knew the signs of a possible nail or screw in my tire. So, I stopped in without an appointment and explained the problem. The attendent who assisted me was very helpful and walked to my car with me to take a look and get the mileage. Then about 5 minutes later, they drove my car into the bay. 20 minutes after that, I was called to the front where the gentleman who fixed the tire, held the door for me, explained that they had indeed found a screw in the tire, patched it, checked the pressure in all the tires AND shined the tires up. Now, this was by far the cleanest part of my car at this point since I haven't had it cleaned in MONTHS. He was handing me my paperwork and continuing out the door with me, traveling AWAY from the cash register. I said to him, "Isn't there a charge for this?" He said "No charge". I was incredulous and stunned. I have lived in Texas for over a year, moved from the East Coast and things like this do NOT happen on the east coast, believe me. If they do, it is a rarity! I thanked him and told him I would be sure to send some business his way in the future. (Especially if I get another flat!) A top notch place with extremely kind, polite people. Once again another great experience at DT!!! I went in for a flat tire on my wife's vehicle. Cole was very friendly, informative, knowledgable and the shoe room was very clean. I didn't buy my tires for this vehicle here (but I have bought 2 full sets for my previous cars) the tire repair was fast and free!!!! I will/would go out of my way to visit this DT again. I went to this Discount Tire because it is very convenient to my home. I have been to this location once prior to this time. I went on a appointed time on a Saturday morning and the tech took a look at my tires. The tire size was not available at the store at the time. The tech stated that he would order the tires and they would be in on that following Tuesday. The following Thursday, I called to check on the tires and the tech that answered the call had no idea what I was talking about. Ok, I have the tech the size of the tire and 5 days later, another tech has no idea of the order. Three techs later I still have no tires ordered. New age technology would mean that someone should notate the account right? Not good customer service at ALL. read more

Josh was straight forward, gave suggestions yet allowed us to make the final decision (didn't push the most expensive tire as the only option). HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I just left the Prosper, TX location after getting new tires. They did not tell me how long the wait was but I overheard them telling other customers an hour and a half to two hours. After overhearing them apologize to another customer and admit that his service was basically deleted from the system and he was forgotten about, I finally asked how much longer mine would be. At that point I had been waiting 2 hours and 20 min. They told me my car had been ready for an hour and that it was parked next door at the carwash. They apologized that no one called my name and shrugged it off blaming it on poor employees. While waiting, I watched many other customers get their cars delivered right in front of the store when their service was completed. After keeping me there an extra hour for nothing, for some reason I had to go on a walk for my car to the carwash next door. No one ever bothered to check with me while I was waiting right in front of them and had obviously been there so long. There is terrible management of the service flow and zero followup with customers who are waiting. DO NOT do business with this location if your time is of any value. read more

We love Discount Tire and in 20+ years with them with multiple stores and have never had a negative experience. However, I need to highlight what happened at the Prosper store this evening. Our car hit something in the road and immediately had a flat, which we discovered when we came home. We only had 5 minutes to get to Discount Tire--I called and the assistant manager Omar told me to go ahead and bring it in. I was thinking that I would just leave it overnight, but Omar went ahead and got me in quickly and within 15 minutes I was off with a new tire (by the way, the replacement for a new tire was only $18 because of the certificate I had purchased). Great service as usual--again just confirms our decision to just go with Discount Tires! read more

But, super annoying that this place doesn't have wifi or even a TV.... especially when the average wait time is 2 hours for them to simply put tires on. I called this morning to see how long wait would be to have tires put on my car that this store ordered in for me. I was told 45 minute wait. I go to store immediately. Took me 15 minutes to get to store. There were 3 people in line in front of me. When I finally get up to desk and get checked in and pay I asked how long is the wait. I was then told an hour and a half. I let the person know I had just called and was told 45 minutes. I was told well enough people got here before you. So I go sit down. I send a text at 8:21 as soon as I sit down. At 10:00 I got to desk and ask how much longer. I have been watching my car not move the entire hour and a half. They try to tell me I've only been waiting 71 minutes. Umm... no. You waited 20 minutes before finalizing my info in the computer. People that arrived after me have left before me. This is not ok. Your customers have other things to do besides sit around your store all morning. My car finally got taken in after I complained. Good thing there will be brand new tires on my car so I don't have to deal with this place again. Just left the store at 10:22. :( read more

If you are in the market for tires you should consider using this location even if you have to drive further to get there. Worked with Cody today. Greeted me as I walked in the door and immediately started to work through the process. Making an appointment is optional but expedites process if done. Handled getting me an adjustment on the Michelin tires immediately as we stood there, another DT store told me I would have to do that myself (saved me $169). Answered all my question. He said he would have the tires on and ready to go in 45 minutes despite the fact that they looked busy in the bays. I could not get back to store that fast, but the car was ready 120 minutes later when I returned. Very efficient and professional DT store with great customer service. read more

I had a great experience! They rotated 4 tires and retorqued the lug nuts to correct settings with no charge. On the next visit I had two tires replaced; one ruined due to misalignment and the other still good. Put the good tire in the trunk and I ordered a full size wheel from LKQ.com so I would have a full size spare, On a third visit they mounted the old good tire on the new full size wheel with no charge. Maximum wait on all three visits was less than 30 minutes. These people are courteous and professional. I recommend them. read more

I dropped off my wife's Infiniti Qx56 at this store at 11am on a Monday. She had a nail in her passenger rear tire, and I also asked that her tires get rotated. I got a call about 90 minutes later asking me whether the lug nuts on the wheels were original. Guy tells me lug nuts are from a dodge ram and that they didn't fit the wheels. He also tells me they were all corroded and he doesn't know how anybody ever got them on or off. When I go pick up the vehicle, the custom center caps that have been on the vehicle for around 70k miles were mangled. Two of the center caps are off of their wheels. One is dangling by one screw. Several screws are just gone. Guy gives me a card of his buddy's shop to tell me maybe he can fix what they destroyed. Fabulous customer service indeed. I give you a nice vehicle with a slow leak in one tire and I get back a vehicle with all 4 wheels mangled. Now, here's the real story. The vehicle has nearly 70k miles on it. The wheels have been on the vehicle since around 300 miles. The current tires are from the Discount Tire shop in Plano on Ohio Drive. The current tires were purchased on May 14th when vehicle had 28,556. So, did the Ohio store put dodge ram lug nuts on the wheels? Or did they see that the lug nuts weren't right, but put them on anyway? Why didn't comment section mention the dodge ram ill-fitting lug nuts? Neither of those scenarios make sense because the tires have been rotated about every 5k miles or so both at Discount Tire and the Infiniti Dealership since the last tire change. How is it possible for none of this to have ever been discovered except for this Monday? Answer: it's not. We will never be back to this store, not that they care. read more

This location does not honor their certificates that are issued on tires. I had purchased 2 tires from the 2 years ago and had a blow out this week. When I went in to replace the tire they told me that both tires needed to be replaced, which was fine because the other tire was worn. The tires had not quite reached their manufactured warranty. When the associate charged me for 2 new tires I asked why I wasn't getting the certificate for the tire that had a blow out. His response was that the tire was to worn to qualify. Sorry. The tire was still within the manufactures mileage warranty. I needed to replace a tire on my wife's car and I took it to a different Discount tire and they replaced it without any question with the certificate. All that to say go to a different store if you need to replace your tire with a certificate. read more

Where to begin....These associates saw a young woman come in alone and played every trick in the book. I was driving a brand new car with less than 10k miles. My tire light had come on so I stopped by the Prosper DT to get it checked. The front associate first asked me why I went to the bathroom before checking in because I could have been ahead of the other customer...wasn't aware it was a race. Eventually my car goes back, and twenty minutes later the same associate says my tire is ruined. He takes me into the garage and has two mechanics point out how some lines on the interior of my tire mean it can't be driven and will blow out. Really? Since my car was still new I declined buying the "only tire left" for my car at $200 and took my "ruined" tire to the dealership. Their response: "there is absolutely nothing wrong with this tire!" Big surprise. I would try to give this Discount Tire the benefit of the doubt, but I've been driving on that "ruined" tire for 15,000 miles now with NO issues. Go to the Discount Tire in McKinney off of 75 and 380. They are much more professional and I have had many good experiences there. Having to lie your way into sales is a sad way to run a business. read more

Every employee has always been helpful and friendly including the manager, "Josh". They are busy, but try to get to you as fast as is reasonable. When giving concerns about the performance of a tire, or even the pricing, they tend to fill in the gaps and help in any way they can. I have not been disappointed in their products or any of their personnel. Selling tires is not a glamour business and is sure to be full of complainers. I understand completely and I am definitely not complaining. Good store. read more
