Don't do business here. I took my car here to get some repairs. They quoted me 2700 dollars and told me I needed over 5000 dollars in other repairs. I told them no thank you and when I went to pick up my car, it would no longer start. I had no issues with the battery prior to bringing my car to this place, but now need to replace my battery. Came in on a Friday afternoon to get the oil changed in my car with my boyfriend (as I have zero car knowledge). Byron greeted us immediately and fit us right in and said it would take maybe 30-40 mins. Ended up being a bit longer than that because they were short staffed, which was fine. I brought my son's 96 Camry in for an oil change 8/1/23 while I was visiting from Washington. I told Byron ( mechanic/manager) about the AC hadn't been working for nearly two years. I told him that a different shop (Christian Brothers) quoted my son $1,700 for a whole new unit. We said no thanks since the car is only worth $2,000. He asked if he could look at it and I said absolutely. Byron calls later that day saying that the oil change was done but the car need some other engine work which resulted in a tune up. I said go ahead and complete the necessary tune up. I asked him about the AC next and with he said "I was able to fix it rather easily! By the way it's been over 100 degrees plus all week! No Stars for this prosper spot, the other location is WAY more professional in every way. I came here and asked for a service that was not done. We called ahead of time for a product in stock for my vehicle which they said they had. When we got there, they DID NOT have what we called ahead for in stock. They then left to go to another location, they said it would talk 15mims and it ended up being over a hour plus service done that wasn't correct. I called the location for days with no one to pick up, then I emailed and nothing! Finally ended up finding another way and still haven't gotten anywhere!!! They seem to not care and for a business, I feel a happy customer is a good service done. My opinion is my own but seriously, can someone reach out or something. We had 2 vehicles inspected here. One passed, one failed. The one that failed needed a new tire. The man at the front who gave us the inspection results told us that was the only reason it failed and, while by law, we have 15 days to correct the reason for failure (tire replaced) and they cannot charge us... he told us they would not charge us if we were outside of the 15 days because that is all they would check, if we brought back the original report. Well, we came back after the 15 days (after we were paid and got a new tire) to have it reinspected and a different guy was there. While ALL they did was check the tire and it took FIVE MINUTES, literally, five minutes... they insisted to charge us again, even with brining the original paperwork and showing we had the tire replaced today. The man at the front was rude and his customer service was awful. I understand if that's what the law and policy is, but if one representative says one thing then it's up to the store to honor that. Educate your employees, don't penalize your customers... or former customers i should say now. read more

One star is pushing it. Sad to write here. Been going here forever three years. Won't be returning until Levi is no longer with this place. Brought my f250 in for oil change before I was headed out of town and Levi told me I had a seal leaking. I knew about this leak and have been watching it. As I had jay watching it as well there at the shop. On this day jay was not available and Levi said I had a bad leak (which it wasn't any worse that previously checked) and could fix it for 300 bucks. I told him to go ahead for 300. As he broke in to the area, he pulled out the inner seal and told me it was leaking from there. As he under bid the job, he told me he couldn't get the part. Me not knowing about cars, I told him to put it back together that I had to go out of town. You can't put a seal back on after it has been pulled, and damaged as he damaged it further. I was ignorant to this knowledge. As I took it home, discovered spots in my driveway from leakage. Secondly, he filled it back up with differential fluid and when new shop drained it, water came out with the fluid. Not good at all. When I got to a new shop the next day at my destination city I was traveling to, they informed me that someone just threw old seal in there and closed everything back up as it fell out when they opened it. As for the oil change side, the drain plug wasn't secured properly so it leaked all in my driveway as well. I reached out to josh the owner and he text me back as well and said he was busy and get with Levi then get back to me. Never returned call. I have spent a lot of money with this place and never this experience and saddened to be writing this review. I would tell everyone to steer clear of this shop until Levi is gone. He is that mechanic that tries to upsale and can't deliver with the quality. Again, I will return as it is convenient with where I reside but that won't be until Levi is gone with the company. Steer clear for now. I will update this post when I catch wind that Levi is no longer there and will give a second chance. I was charged for work not done and given a very high quote for what they called additional work my vehicle needed. I declined there quote took my vehicle to the mechanic my son recommended in the first (I chose Kwik Kar because the location was more convenient - unfortunately for me). He showed my son the work I had been charged for was not done and did the additional needed for for much less than the quote I was given by Kwik Kar..... Save your money & Stay far away!! read more

DO NOT TRUST WHAT THEY TELL YOU! I went into this shop on Friday 11/24/2017 because I had a check engine light come on while we were visiting in-laws in Prosper. I told them that I was from out of town and needed to see if they could read the check engine computer code for me to make sure it wasn't anything that I needed to have fixed before I traveled back home. The person I spoke with told me they would need an hour and a $89 plus tax diagnostic fee to tell me what the codes were. I have used many Kwik Kar location in TX, OK & AR. Every location I have been to will run the codes to tell you the issue at NO COST. I mentioned this to the man and he said that NO ONE will do that for me. He reiterated "Trust me, anywhere you take your car will charge you $100 to read those codes!". I left and drove to the Kwik Kar in McKinney (about 5 miles away) and what do you know, they read the check engine codes at NO COST, gave me the read out and confirmed that I could make it home to my personal mechanic to make the repairs! If you have a choice, drive to the Kwik Kar off Custer and Virginia! At least you know you can trust what they tell you! Nothing worse than a mechanic shop you can't trust! read more

I came here several months ago to get an oil change and was the only customer here and it took them an hour to change my oil. On top of that after 6 weeks, my change oil light came on again. Hummm. I've tried to go to other places before coming here again but there isn't much options around here. Tried it again today and what did I find. NO service. RIP OFF !! Went to get my brakes changed, brought new brake pads with me, they told me I should get the rotors done too. I asked for the price and the mechanic said it would be about $380 total for brakes and rotors. I agreed because I know it's necessary, then upon arrival to get my car I was told the cost was almost $800 and when I asked they told me it was "labor costs" and I couldn't get around it. Rude Rude Rude... when I first got there I'm not sure if the person was having a bad day but they were rude then they get in my car pulled around in without asking me any questions start looking in a book. I said I was going to go get it tagged and she said well you already failed the inspection because your horn doesn't work well my horn does work and she said she was looking at my license plate lights because they have to be white OK well then let me know they need to be white and I'll change them but be nice the route and it was overwhelming and I left very disappointed as I was hoping this would be my new place to take my cars as I have several. Well little do they know I bought them before I went in to see if they were really being honest since I read so of the reviews and heard word of mouth of people's problems with this place. So, let me say this is the most honest auto shop I have ever walked in. About 6 months ago I walked in and wanted to get a quote to fix the transmission on my Monster Truck "Big Hos". When I walked in I was amazed at the layout and all the amenities available to me. I didn't have to wait long before Mike E came out and without looking at my truck gave me a quote way under what I expected. He wrote the quote on the back of his business card and signed it. I thought WOW. Too Good To Be True. I went back a few days ago to find that Mike had a family emergency and has been out and don't know when he will be back. I spoke to Issa the owner and he honored the quote. The next day Danny called me on my cell to let me know everything they had found and has been keeping me in the price range of what I am willing to pay beyond the work in the quote. If you can go anywhere else, I would. They will lie right to your face and over charge you. Tried telling me my truck took 15 quarts of oil, when I questioned it they made up some bs excuse on how it was a mistake and changed it to 13 quarts. Talked to the ford dealership and they told me it was 7.7 quarts when to ford and they said that I only had 7 quarts total in my engine. GO ANYWHERE ELSE IF YOU HAVE THE OPTION. read more

REPEATEDLY DISAPPOINTED I should know better but I keep giving them "one more chance." Serves me right. I have been here several times for things such as oil change, minor service and wiper blade replacement. It always takes longer than anywhere else I've been and it's not because they are swamped. The staff is indifferent at best but typically bordering rude. I have repeatedly attempted to use coupons THEY send out only to be told 100% of the time that the coupon isn't really for the service stated clearly on it. It is always "not for that brand of oil" "not for a diesel" "not for that type of vehicle", etc., even though the coupon doesn't specify. I tried to make a small wager with my friend prior to entering the business recently because I was that confident the coupon would not be accepted. Darn it, I wish he would have bet me. I would have gotten a free lunch. Fifteen percent off of a $140 oil change and wiper replacement ticket is meaningful, btw. Why bother sending out coupons if customers can't use them? Oh, maybe to get us to come in expecting a discount. Once there, I'm sure customers generally decide just to complete the transaction (like I did). Great strategy if you don't want repeat customers or customer loyalty. It sucks to have to go to a neighboring community to get my vehicles serviced, but go elsewhere I must. Y'all, let start off by saying butterflies and unicorn are my theme usually for life, but this place straight popped that happy bubble with their horrible service and absolutely insane over pricing!!!! My hubby had a commuter car, little 4 cylinder Honda that I bet our golf cart could bet in a race. Changing the oil would take minutes, seconds even. We show up and there is one car in the shop, multiple guys working there. We dropped off his car, said we would we be back in 2 hours, and we were assured that would be plenty of time for it to be ready. 3 hours later we arrive to pick his car, to see it hasn't moved from where he parked and that they more then likely just forgot about it, so he walks in and the guy "oh yea, we are getting it in now". So unprofessional and what was planned out turned into my husband having to wait over 45 minutes!!!! Now we've had this car for years and get the oil changed always on schedule. And we've been to several different shops and have never paid over $35, well after it was all said and done they charged us freaking $65!!!!!!! It's a Honda Pilot you ding dongs! That is pure robbery and ridiculous. Never ever ever will we be going back and we will be trying to make sure no one else we know ever goes there and has to suffer from their horrible planning and none professional employees and completely ridiculous over pricing. read more

Incomplete Body Repair and More Damage We took our van initially for a repair on the hatch. The work appeared correct but a month later, the spoiler popped. Kwik Kar agreed to repair given the initial work (late March) was not completed correctly. We set the date for the follow up repair while I was in Europe; however, they were unable to complete. Routinely my wife called to get an update and was told more time. Eventually (day 3) she was told it could not be repaired; however, she had to take the car for vacation to see family. We compromised and left the hatch unusable. We set a time to repair two weeks later after she returned. Upon arriving on July 2 for the follow up, I was told the repair technician was terminated and a new staff member could do the work Thursday, July 5. On July 5, the technician was still not able to work on our car. On July 9, we dropped the car for repair. The pictures of the repairs (not really repaired) are shown. The hatch was not sealed and leaks. The roof of our van is scratched and dented. The spoiler was not only attached incorrectly but parts were deliberately removed which impacts the integrity of the repair. read more

My girlfriend went in for an oil change and they took the liberty of replacing her transmission fluid because, "if not she'd have to replace the whole transmission which would be $3,000". While sitting in the waiting room I heard the guys behind the counter recommend what I can only imagine are unnecessary repairs. Beware this shop is a classic example of mechanics taking advantage of the trust of their less knowledgeable customers. We will never be returning here. read more

I brought my car in for what I thought may be a simple fix because it overheated which was a minor issue. Byron and Tom were fantastic and addressed that issue right away. They proposed a couple options and got it taken care of. They also notified me of a couple leaks (oil and trans) that needed to be taken care of as well. I was already aware of the leaks and from the initial issue, they earned my trust. I already have a mechanic that I trust with my car because it is not your average ride. It is a 1971 Chevelle SS and it is not only a classic, it is fully restored and I keep it in pristine condition. My mechanic had a couple week backlog so I couldn't wait for him. Byron and Tom took care of the issue and got me back on the road after a bit of trouble shooting with the right seals and gaskets. Parts for a 50 year old car are not on hand as they would be for current cars. At the end of the day, it did cost me a pretty penny but reasonable for the work they did and more than that, they earned my trust because I don't trust just anyone with my SS. UPDATE Nov. 4, 2013: I submitted a BBB complaint regarding their treatment of my property. It's been more than one month, and they have not responded. Clearly these clowns have no desire to apologize for how they treated me and my property. On Sept. 30, 2013, I took my 1950 Chevy to Bumper to Bumper (Prosper, TX) to look at the brakes. I talked with the owner, told him what I needed and we were in agreement. He said it may be a few days before they could get to it, but that the car would be stored indoors. I agreed, gave them the key and left the premises. On Oct. 1, 2013 at 7:15 AM, I received a call from a friend who saw my car in the parking lot. I went over and checked, and the car was left in the parking lot overnight - *unlocked and all windows down.* The car was soaking wet inside and out due to dew and sprinklers and there was dirt and grass in the car from landscapers and surrounding construction. The condition of the car when I found it is not my main problem. The main problem is that they left my 63-year-old antique automobile clearly visible and vulnerable in a wide open parking lot easily accessible from Preston Rd. As a result, anyone with a trailer could have taken that car in minutes, and I would have never seen it again. Just to put this in perspective, this is a car I have owned for 27 years, done all the work on myself and put tens of thousands of dollars into - this wasn't some piece of junk rust bucket. Before confronting anyone about the situation, I wanted to give the on duty staff a chance to explain what happened, so I went inside and asked if the car was, in fact, left outside overnight, and the company representative behind the counter nonchalantly said "yeah," then shrugged as though it were no big deal. He offered no explanation, made no attempt to apologize and ignored me from then on. That employee's lack of concern for the safety of my property, unwillingness to accept responsibility for the incident and unwillingness to apology led to a heated exchange. During that exchange, I demanded the return of my keys. Once I had my keys, I left. At this time, nobody has reached out to say "I'm sorry," "How can we fix this" or even acknowledge they put my property at risk of theft or vandalism. PSA FOR ANYONE NOT WANTING TO BE UPSOLD ON UNNEEDED REPAIRS. I went it for an inspection and they failed my vehicle for a "leaking" power steering hose. This leak has been present for over 4 years now and I have 215,000 miles on my car. The leak is so small that I have never even needed to add fluid to the reservoir. However since there was grime on the hose, they told me the vehicle was unsafe and failed me. Then they told me they would be happy to fix it for me for about $350. This is outrageous. I went straight to autozone and bought a $45 hose and fixed it myself in less than 30 minutes. It was a matter of unscrewing the old one with 2 fasteners and replacing a couple of o-rings and installing the new new one. If you need an inspection and have over 100k miles on your car, do not go to a shop that that also does repairs unless you know and trust them. Please take your car to an independent inspection station to avoid getting taken advantage of. Response from the owner Good morning Jeff, I am sorry you feel you had a poor experience here at Kwik Kar Auto Center. My name is Jonathan and I am the Store Manager. I spoke with you personally regarding your failed State Inspection. You presented us with a 2008 GMC Yukon XL with 214,917 miles. At the time of the failed inspection, I showed you the leaking power steering hose in the inspection bay and clearly explained to you that TXDPS guidelines mandate that power steering leaks are a cause for failure. I have been a licensed State Inspector for 15 years and have done about 50,000 inspections. I and my staff are fair and impartial during the inspection process and we treat every vehicle the same. I understand it is not a pleasant thing to fail your state inspection and be faced with subsequent repairs, but when your vehicle is presented for inspection and has deficiencies present, you are required by the State of Texas to repair them. While you were at my shop, I explained the situation to you clearly and you acted emotionally and showed anger and used a demeaning and condescending attitude towards my staff and myself. At no time, did I present you with a repair estimate or offer to do the repairs. At the end of the conversation, you asked me what we would charge to make this repair. I quoted you roughly $200-$300 and you said you would repair it yourself. In the future, please double check the TXDPS website for the inspection guidelines and make sure you have no deficiencies present before you present your vehicle so you can make sure you are not inconvenienced. Jonathan most certainly quoted me $350 for the repair not $200-$300 he says in his reply. And for the record, I called NTB and they quoted me $96 for the labor. 2. I spoke with no one other than Jonathan about my experience and although I was upset with trying to be upsold, I was most definitely not condescending. If I were, I would've pointed out that Jonathan had no clue what he was talking about regarding a noise in my valve train due to a failing DOD system and a lifter that may be on the verge of collapsing. His recommendation was to replace the timing chain tensioner which has absolutely nothing to do with the cylinder deactivation system. I would've also pointed out that he was wrong in telling me that GM did away with AFM/DOD in 2014 when the new models came out because they caused so much problems. GM does in fact still use AFM/DOD. 3. I checked YELP reviews as well and will post there too. This business has not received higher than a 1 STAR review since last year... and the last 4 reviews were all 1 STAR. It is a shame that there are some shops out there that will try to take advantage of consumers like this and furthermore offer a non-factual rebuttal to negative reviews. read more

I would seriously warn against using this shop. The tech hammered out my shocks, severely damaging the stem, destroyed my e brake by carelessly ripping off the rotors, over-torqued my lug nuts to over 200 ft lbs. The damaged e brake cost me over $400 at Park Place Lexus due to their careless tech. The manager completely ignored my requests for compensation. I will stand in a court of law and confirm every statement made here, and provide documented proof of damages and costs to anyone who desires to see it. When I told the manager that his tech did not even know the basics of working on cars and should not be part of their business if they cared to have a good one, he actually thought the tech was good, lol. I brought my newly acquired used car in to trouble shoot a check engine light. No one at the other auto repair shops were able to repair this issue, not the good folks at Bumper to Bumper. They told me they needed a couple of days to figure it out, and they sure did! Couldn't be happier, and everyone who works at the shop is super friendly, even the cute little dog who keeps watch on the waiting area. They will get my business for any repairs my family needs, and i will recommend them to all my family and friends. read more

The worst, avoid at all costs!!!! My vehicle was in 3 times in 3 days for climate control issues. Each day they claimed to have fixed it, but driving home the issue would happen again. On the third day they supposedly fixed it, I rang them on the way home to say it was still not working correctly and they claimed the issue had to be the climate control head, as they "replaced multiple actuators, and reprogrammed the system to the new actuators". Knowing that would be expensive to replace he control head, I had a GM employee look at it and learned Kwik Kar replaced only one OEM actuator - and replaced it with a faulty actuator. The other 4 actuators still had the original stickers from GM when it was built, so exactly how did they replace multiple actuators? They didn't give me a line by line receipt when they supposedly did this second actuator replacement, saying they were absorbing the cost to apologize for the difficulty fixing it. They simply didn't do the work they said they did, then blamed the issue on another part. Disgusting behavior. I would recommend you never take your vehicle here. read more
