Went here back in 2008 to have them rotate my tires. Unlike Ken Garff Ogden (see my review on them), they didn't screw things up. Make sure to give them the correct torque of your lug nuts. Most places have a tendency to use an air impact wrench to tighten back up the lug nuts. This can spell bad news when they overtighten it dramatically and warp your rotors. Here, they used the impact wrench to begin with, and then finished it off by checking with a torque wrench. Don't know if their services have changed, but they did this for no charge back then. read more

I typically go to the Roy location because I live closer to it. Called both the Roy and Riverdale locations to get a wait time for a tire rotation and balance. The Riverdale location told me a shorter wait time of 30 min. Well, it was almost an hour before my car was pulled in. A car that showed up after me had their car pulled in before mine. I did hear that they had an appointment, but were 30min late. I don't care if you have an appointment, if you missed your appointment then you should have to get in the waiting line like the rest of us. This is why I will not come back to this location. The Roy location is accurate on their wait times. I've always learned you should under promise and over deliver. The Riverdale location should get a clue. read more

If you want accurate time estimates, prompt service and no mistakes, do not go to this discount tire store. I called ahead to see how long it would take them to put two new tires on my vehicle because I did not have an appointment. They told me that it was OK that I didn't have an appointment and that it would only take about 45 minutes. When I arrived 10 minutes later from the Honda dealership on Riverdale they told me it would be 45 minutes to an hour. I was still fine with that and told them to go ahead. I went across the street to the restaurant and ate lunch. I was in the restaurant for 50 minutes. When I got back to discount tire they had not even pulled my car in yet. They didn't offer any updates and I finally went and asked how much longer it would take. At this point it was an hour and five minutes from the time that I drop the car off. They finally pulled my vehicle in after an hour and 10 minutes of waiting. They took 35 minutes to do two tires. For a total of one hour and 45 minutes of wait time when they told me it would only take 45 minutes to an hour. I live 30 minutes east of Riverdale. When I was a few miles from home. They called me and told me that they had forgotten to put my lug key back in my vehicle and that they had it there. They offered no solution to get it back to me and told me I would need to pick it up. I live 30 miles east of Riverdale and it wasn't like I was about to turn around for a mistake that they made. This location is the most unorganized, inefficient and inaccurate location I have ever been to in the 20 years I've been going to discount tire. I will not be going back to this location. read more

Was originally going next door to pep boys but they messed up my appointment and couldn't care less. I left and thought what the heck I'll try a walk in at discount. I'd used discount tire before and it was great service. I'd only tried pep boys because they had a good price on some tires. Discount not only had great service, they were faster even though they were busier, and they gave me a better price on better tires. When I walked in he said "let me earn you business." I have been buying tires at this store for over ten years and the service is always great. Needed two tires for my truck today and the old ones were under mileage , worn almost to the wear bars. They were not enough to get credit from warranty but the salesman gave me a break on the new tires. Couldn't be happier and will keep going back. Also did a price check with Les Schaub and Discount was considerably less. read more

Unprofessional! Incompetent! Rude! I have been a long time customer of the Riverdale discount tire and have always been treated with professionalism and respect. Unfortunately there has been a change in management as I went in today to purchase new snow tires and have my summer tires balanced. They were more than happy to take my money for the new tires which had to be ordered and since I was there and had to wait for new tires to come in I had them rebalance the summer tires which they installed on the car. My wife and I walked across the street while the work was performed and when we returned were told that they had only serviced the front tires as the rears had a 1/8" thick spacer installed!! Even though they had installed the tires with the spacers in the first place!! The salesman was extremely rude and uncooperative and I was told that the extremely helpful staff of the past no longer worked there. I proceeded to cancel the new tire order. This location has lost my business!! read more

We have leased 3 Honda pilots. Obviously we have been satisfied with the performance of this vehicle. Our latest lease was started about a week age. A Honda pilot exl. The car has many nice safety features. On the fourth day of ownership, the car started lurching and making very loud noises(4 different times).It sounded like the bottom of the car was following out. We took it to the dealership. They had it for 3 days and said they could not duplicate the noise. They did contact other departments at Honda. They informed us that they did not do anything to resolve this problem because they couldn't find it. Well, it happened intermittently and I am quite sure it will happen again. Utah has a lemon law but the vehicle has to go into the shop 4 times in a year for the same problem before it goes into effect. Well, here I am paying a lot of money for a vehicle that I am now afraid to drive. I no longer believe this is a safe vehicle. I am posting this because I believe that if this vehicle causes an accident the fault lies with Honda as they have been informed of the problem. The problem and potential danger is now on YOU-Honda corporation. I strongly recommend that if you are thinking of purchasing or leasing the 2017 model-DONT. read more

I went to the Riverdale Discount Tire to purchase some used winter tires they were advertising on KSL. I spoke with Dak the evening before, agreed on a fair price and scheduled an appointment for the next day. Not only did I request that they rotate and install the winter tires, but also mount them on new rims that I would bring with me and remove the existing tires from the wheels I was replacing. I fully expected some confusion by the time I got there the next day. I arrived earlier than expected and they went to work on my vehicle right away. Dak took the time to ensure that the automatic tire pressure system would transfer without any problems and ensured the new rims (not purchased from DT) would fit appropriately on my vehicle. There was no misunderstanding. The store manager, Jason, also took the time to locate me in the waiting room and provide some personal insight on the perils of some lug lock systems. He also answered my questions honestly and candidly - Thank you! At times they had more than one technician working on my car given they were not immediately busy - I appreciated that given I did not want to spend any more time at the tire shop than necessary. Within a reasonable time period they had my vehicles' wheels and tires completely changed over with my old wheels and tires bagged and boxed in my vehicle. Yes, bagged and boxed in my vehicle so as not to get it dirty. Needless to say, quality service such as this is now often the exception rather than the norm; which is why I am taking the time to write this review. I can't speak for each and every DT location, but on this occasion the Riverdale DT provided me exceptional service at a reasonable cost. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. KL read more

Just purchased some new wheels and tires for my jeep and was very impressed by the service tech that worked with me on the deal. He was very polite and accommodating and was there to personally install the new wheels and tires. His name was Marc and I very much appreciated his professionalism and how he gave me such personalized service. While waiting for the tires to be mounted I watched and listened to other customers being attended to by different technicians and everyone was treated with the same respect as I was. Great staff just not enough people running the counters. Each time I have been there I have waited at least 20 minutes before I can even discuss my tire issues. They said to make an appointment when my one tire came in to be replaced and i would be moved to the head of the line to save some time. I walked in behind two other people and waited 20 minutes again to drop off my keys. The two other people were done and gone before I was finished. Bottom line don't bother making appointments it doesn't matter anyway. first in first out. Just make sure have a least 90 minutes to waste before you walk in the door. read more

My family has used Discount Tire in Riverdale to purchase tires for our car. Over the past year we have purchased 2 sets of tires, winter tires and normal tires, totaling over $800. When we purchased the winter tires we were told by an employee that when we wanted to change tires from normal to winter they would do it at no charge. It turns out: That's not true! Instead of being free they'll charge $50 every time. The employee we spoke to about this was irritable and very unprofessional. He simply stated: "this is the way we've always done it" (referring to the $50 charge). The free changing of the tires was a selling point to us and was a big factor why we bought from them to start with. I really don't appreciate being told one thing in order to sell me something and then find out it's way different once they have my money and the deal's done. read more

I've used Discount Tires for over 20 years, in three states, but this location was BY FAR the best! I was met in the parking lot by Josh who quickly took my flattened tire. He came back minutes later to let me know it was repairable but the tread was thin. I knew this, and had planned to get four new tires in the next couple of months; however, since I was so impressed by their quick and friendly service, the very nice waiting area (much larger and smelling much less of tires than other locations), I decided to go ahead and get four new tires.
