Otherwise, there are better shops to be found. Apparently, they do have a new manager. Either he's got his work cut out for him or he's contributed to the problem. Either way, they won't be seeing anymore of my money. Though, from my interactions with their staff, I'm sure they won't care. Update.. I; like so many others, had that dreaded morning where I noticed a nail in my tire. Unfortunately for me, I knew it couldn't be patched as it was right on the very edge of the tire. I arrived early at the shop and when they opened was quickly greeted by Jacob. He confirmed the nail did puncture the tire and that the tires had at least 50% tread life left. We quickly discovered my specific tires were on backorder and that there wasn't an ETA for them. We tried to find a comparable tire in the same size (295/60/20), but they were not going to be able to get anything for at least five business days. They had some similar sized tires in stock, but I wasn't excited on having to buy four new tires for just having a nail in one. Jacob asked if I was OK with changing the size to 305/55/20 which was a little wider but also a little shorter. I let him know I was and he asked if I could wait while he checked something in the back. He came a few minutes later and said they had three barely used tires they could sell at a reduced price and I would just have to buy one new tire which would save me a good chunk of change. They also discovered my lugs were bad (poor design by Ford) and got me set up with all new ones. I was very pleased on the quickness of the service and Jacob for working with me to get me back on the road and not hurting my checkbook too much. I will definitely be back! read more

Hats off to these guys for helping out. The younger kid of course was trying to sell the hell out of some expensive tires to me but I found my own deal. Jesse was very helpful and ordered the tires I wanted while price matching to make sure the business stayed with Discount which I hoped for anyways. Always deal with the older guys as they dont seem to be selling over priced high end stuff. This location has been great for airing up tires or plugging them with all the road repairs going on in Fort Worth. If this place had a spot for no stars that's what I would give. I had a appointment at 2 it is 3:20 and they are just now pulling my car in. I spoke with them yesterday and today letting them know that I had to be at work so they made the appointment for the time that worked with me. I was told I needed more tires than I thought so spent almost $400 then sat until now when over 8 walk-ins went in front of me and left before my car got in the shop. I had to ask 4 different people before finally Nathan helped me get my car in. Now I will be late for work and the senior supervisor is the one that initially helped me when I walked through the door. Very upsetting that I had to wait after walk-ins when my appointment was set. I also didnt appreciate the "scare" tactic to try to get me to buy more expensive snow tires. Quick service. They refused to put air in my new spare. They told me twice they would but didn't because they assumed it was as old as my car. Price was decent but that's it. Update Day after my post...Car is a 2009 and they said they couldn't put air in tires over 10 years old, we're only in day 24..but now it really doesnt matter. Ended up having to sell/scrap car the day after due to major mechanical issue so make sure ya'll get your car checked before you buy tires..not blaming them on this tho. 1/25 update. My Goodyear's wore down too quickly so needed to get them replaced and representative was able to apply appropriate credit for the tires that didn't wear well. Let me start out by saying that I have never had any issues with Discount Tire. However, this location changed my opinion of the company. I ordered a set of Falken tires over the phone from one of the sales reps at this location. I prepaid for the tires and set an appointment to bring my car in to have them installed. Like everyone else, my time is incredibly valuable and I take appointments very seriously. Upon arriving to the appointment, my wife is told by the rep that they do not have the tires in stock, but would be willing to give us a generic set of tires for the same price (wtf?). First off, I prepaid for a specific set of 4 tires and made my appointment at the same time, so how is it even possible for the tires to not be here? It reminded me of the classic Seinfeld episode in which he explains to the rep that they clearly know how to take the reservation, but do not know how to hold it. Obviously, I was not made aware of the situation in advance, so it was a complete waste of my day. I was very frustrated and asked for my card to be refunded. I have not seen the refund come through yet, so I will keep an eye on that. My wife drove my car down the street to a local competitor and they had the tires I wanted and got them installed in less than 45 minutes, and even gave us a better deal. So, in the end, I guess the joke is on Discount Tire. I will not be returning to this location, and I highly recommend everyone else avoid it as well. read more

I was replacing the bald tires on my boyfriends car and I was really worried about spending too much money or it taking too long. I was camping up at Texas Motorspeedway when my travel trailer had a flat! Ughh... On Monday morning, one of the guys at camp was nice enough to put my spare on for me. When I arrived at the store, we removed the wheel and tire from the back of the truck. Upon inspection, we saw a small nail in the middle of the tread. This set of 4 tires had been purchased a little over two years before and had never had a flat or any issues. Two and a half hours later, I was told that the tire was not repairable due to a patch coming loose and they didn't have the tire in stock. Okay, so I went to another location where they promptly put on a new tire (I had purchased the replacement warranty when I bought the set) and I came back home to Austin... Here is my question: How did a new tire have a previous patch on it??? All I could get after several phone calls (to the store and to the main headquarters) was "I don't know" .. something is fishy here. read more

On March 11th I brought my silver Chevy Cruze into the discount tire because my tire light came on and I was confused. My front tire was messed up and the man talked me into buying 4 tires for around 600 dollars. A few hours later I picked up my car and noticed a very loud thumping noise when I turned my wheel. I thought this would go away after time, but as time progressed the noise got worse. I brought the car back to the discount tire and they told me there was nothing they could do about it because it wasn't the same day.... but when I left they were about to close. I brought it to another shop and they told me that the repair would cost more then double what they charged me to fix my car at discount tire. The fact that Discount tire will not take responsibility for breaking my car and then being rude and having terrible customer service is baffling. They need to do better. Trust that I will not be going back and I know many people in the area and will tell them to never purchase tires from you again. This was terrible service and I'm disappointed. read more

If I could give zero star that is what they deserve, January 10 8am Took my Toyota Rav-4 in because it had screw/ Nail in the driver back tire. Was told they would change out because they couldn't plug it leaking air as well. Plus I ask that they rotate the tires. Do you know them sorry asshole did nothing to my tired? They didn't fix it nor did they rotate the tires. Why did you feel you needed to waste my time but put me in jeopardy of having a blow out with that tired that I was told had been changed out for a new one.. It was all a big lie. Be careful with these guys they're trained professional sellers so if you don't have warranty on your tire and you have a blowout they'll tell you it's unrepairable and even if you ask to see the tire they won't even let you see it. Well guess what, I showed up 15 minutes early and no tires. They said 2 1/2 to 3 hours to get them. This was my 4th return in a year to fix a slow leak and I requested for them to replace the tire, they did it even though they could never find a hole to patch. I have used discount tire for several years and this by far is the worst discount tire I have used. Surprisingly I have only used them twice, but both time they seem to screw up something. First time I wanted to purchase new tires for my wife's car. They didn't have the tires in I wanted and said they will get them in 2-3 days usually and they will call me when they get in. Over 5 days later I get a phone call at 8:30am asking me if "I am going to come and get these tires, they have a man here wanting them now". So I cancelled my plans for the day and went and got the tires. Once the tires are put on they then up charge me for the warranty. They didn't even ask. The guy behind the counter didn't go over the price or anything with me. Once I looked at my receipt and found out that they charged another 70$-80$, I had them refund me that back. Second time, I went to get my tires rotated on my truck. They were busy on a Saturday so I left it with them. The man told me "I'll call you when it's done, should be around an hour or so". Well I had to call them over 8 hours later and ask if my truck was done yet. The man that answered the phone said "oh yeah that's (insert name I forgot it)'s fault he didn't write down to call you". So now I have waisted time that I actually needed to be working on my truck while it just sat in their parking lot for who knows how long. When I got the truck one of the tires was flat! So I took it back up there on Monday and told the asst. manager Nick my problem. When I told him that it happened when they had it. Nick looks at me and says "did you see it happen, you were here when it happened, and you took a picture of it so show me that it happened here". He was the biggest prick I know at a discount tire. Now I am not sure how he thinks treating a paying customer like that will ever get repeat business. Fortunately Bryan (I believe that's his name), the real manager of the store, was able to help me out and get me back on the road. I will not go back to this discount tire because if they feel Nick is good enough to be an asst. manager, and he talks to customer like that, then who knows what type of business they are running. I've brought in my vehicles here for tire repairs (flats/nails) and they've always repair them for free. Great service; always friendly and courteous. This explains why they are so busy. It's for reasons like this that I bring my cars back for when I need to buy new tires. Their prices were very competitive! I just wanted to say how great of an experience I had this week with the entire staff at Discount Tire-Roanoke, TX. I worked mainly with Chris, but I got to witness Mickey, Nathan, Ron and Bryan all interact with customers for about 45 minutes while I was getting a new set of tires installed. Whether it was an 80 year old woman that wasn't educated on tires and what all the numbers meant or a 30 year old guy that was price shopping Discount, the entire staff worked with all of these customers as if they were the only customer in the building and treated them professionally. The number 1 reason I use Discount Tire in Roanoke, TX is because of their people. A great staff makes for an enjoyable experience and when you have to drop $700-$1,000 on a new set of tires, you leave this Discount Tire shop knowing that not only did you get a great set of tires, but you were taken care of by a staff that cares more about providing you with the best tire that fits your needs rather than trying to sell you a tire that is the most profitable for them. Many, many years ago I made the mistake of buying tires from another company (Firestone or NTB etc) and I could easily tell that they wanted to "sell" me one brand of tires rather than offering me a few options at different price points that best fit my needs. Never again. I would drive an hour away if it meant supporting a Discount Tire! After a dozen FREE tire rotations and a few random flat repairs every few years by this Discount Tire location, their amazing service provide on these FREE services always makes me a loyal customer when I am in the market for a new set of tires. Think about how many guys like me come in each day to get a flat fixed or tires rotated. Discount Tire make $0 on these services. However, when it does come time to buy new tires, these free services are not forgotten and I always buy from Discount Tire. I've dealt with Discount Tire on and off for about 25 years, although my trip to the Roanoke store this weekend on Hwy 377 was my first. For what it's worth, their warranty is as good as it gets. I've had reason to test it several times and was never disappointed. I first visited the Discount Tire website to find the tires I wanted, then called ahead to make sure they had them. I spoke to Ron and told him I wanted a full set of four but was told they only had two in that brand. Ron then asked me if I had to have that particular brand, because if not, he'd match the lower price on a more expensive set. Uh yeah, that'll work just fine! I went to the store was waited on immediately. Store was very busy but obviously well managed with a lot of customers being served. My timing was good, as most of those folks were almost finished so I only waited about 40 minutes. Before my truck was ready, I was told my spare was too old to re-mount (unsafe), so I was given a crazy cheap deal on a brand new one. Nice! I was also given the code for my online rebate of $50.00. So, four brand new tires mounted at a price lower than what they were being advertised for, a huge price break on a brand new spare, and a $50.00 rebate on the whole package to boot. Next month I'll be back with another vehicle that also needs new tires. Glad I visited this Discount Tire store for the first time, but it definitely won't be my last. read more
