Such a great experience from beginning to end. I had an appointment at 9:15 and although they didn't start on my car at 9:15 they still had me out of there by 10:30. I had all my tires replaced. I was greeted when I walked in and the staff were friendly and all in good spirits. Logan assisted me and showed me different options as far as tires go. He also was very knowledgeable answering all the questions I had. Evan worked on my vehicle and was pleasant and kind. I just all in all had a positive experience and would recommend this location to others because of it. Definitely make an appointment but waiting in lobby is comfortable. The chairs are always comfy. My front tire has a noticeable gash in the side wall but they refuse to replace it even though it was still under warranty, I've been to multiple locations and was told side wall damage should be replaced immediately but I guess that doesn't apply to this location. This is by far my favorite Discount Tire location in San Antonio! Sadly I have to come here twice this year for running over things I shouldn't which resulted in flat tires. While this is a busy location they will fit you in as quickly as possible. The garage is quick to get back to you if anything aside from a normal patch is required. Even if you do need tires, the price is affordable and comparable to other vendors. This will always be my go to! read more

I definitely suggest making an appointment since they're so busy - obviously a good sign that they're great at what they do! I made an appointment and was in/ out within the hour after checking in, having someone inspect the car & getting new tires. Multiple people walked in without appointments and were quoted an hour wait time. Prices were decent enough considering tires are expensive - they didn't suggest getting the highest priced tires which I appreciated. They told me which tires were currently on the car and gave me an estimate then asked if I wanted to keep the same brand tire. Explained their warranty program and even asked if I wanted to replace the spare tire since it was the original tire from my 2009 vehicle Would definitely return if/ when I ever have tire issues! read more

I scheduled an appointment for 2/26/24 at 0945hrs. for a tire repair, rotation and balance. I arrived at 0915 and talked to Michael who looked at my tire that needed repair. He stated he had to order from another store and have it picked up. He stated it would be 2 hrs and I advised him I would wait for it. He came and told me that the tire was on the way and they were less than a mile away, that was at 10:40am. An hour later at 11:45am I asked Michael did they arrive with the new tire and he said they just picked it up!!! I told him " you told me they were a mile away about an hour ago? He stated that's what they told me! This location doesn't seem to know what's going on with anything and they seem to be in a state of confusion. They offered to refund me $26.00 for my tire placement but that doesn't make up the 4 hr. wait when they told me it was a mile away and now it's two hrs later and still no tire. I was seen right away and the flat was repaired. I was in and out in under 30 minutes. The staff was very knowledgeable and provided exceptional customer service.The true bonus is that they don't charge for flat repairs or even to check your tires and put air in them. I always get the tire protection plan($20 per tire) which basically covers any tire damage you have with a tire you get from them and they will replace or fix it. After running over a tree branch that I did not see behind me and someone hitting a big piece of wood that shot across the lane and hit my tire and then the idiot light coming on about the tires. I stopped off at this Discount Tires. The parking lot was packed. I have no idea what's going on, but there were a lot of us waiting to get our tires checked, the employees were out there guiding people trying to get other customers that were not waiting for tire checks in and out and they did a great job protecting each other from getting run over. Collin was the young man that assisted me this morning. He checked the tires and added air and the idiot light went away and then he visually and physically checked each tire after I told him the story of the tree branch and the shock to my tire. Fortunately, nothing seem to be damaged, and I was sent on my way. Collin was courteous and friendly, and had a lovely smile. He did not seem rushed or pressured and answered any question and I thank him profusely for helping me back out of the bay because that is not something I enjoy doing, and he did it all with a smile. I called Discount Tire because their website said that if I ordered online the tires I needed would be available in four days, but I could call to see if they were able to do it sooner. The person I spoke to said they could get the tires in the next day and made me an appointment to get them installed at 8:45 AM. I showed up for my appointment and the person who checked me in couldn't find my name or phone number in their system, which was the first red flag, and I waited about 20 minutes before they said it was my turn. They went to go look at the current tires on my car and take down some information, but then when told me the tires I wanted were out of stock and needed to be ordered in (which I had already arranged on the phone the previous day), and I would have to wait several hours. So I woke up early after working late, wasted my time and gas, and will have to book a new hotel for tonight if the one I already booked isn't able to keep their office open late for me to check in since I was supposed to be leaving for a road trip immediately after my tire appointment. I expected much better based on the reviews I saw. Their prices also aren't great, but I needed the tires fast and they said they could do it so I was willing to pay. Never coming here again. Update: I finally got my tires over five hours after my appointment time. No apology, no discount, still had to wait when I got back to the shop. Didn't even acknowledge their mistake. read more

I crashed into a cement median one evening and did a number on my car's driver side tires and rims. Had a tow truck bring my car to Discount Tire and parked it there for the night as it was past midnight. The next morning I called and spoke to Kevin. He was amazing! Very professional and knowledgeable. He had me come in to bring the keys so he could do a more in-depth assessment. Once there, I worked with Adolfo who was also very professional. I was able to finance 4 new tires and rims. They also referred me to Brake Check for a special they were having on wheel alignments. A couple visits and a couple thousand dollars later, I'm feeling significantly less cuddly toward this Discount Tire. The quality of service and the level of high-pressure sales pitch really is dependent upon the individual who, by luck of the draw, is first to interact with you upon calling/walking in. Frustrating!! Solid customer service should be the store/companywide standard. This weekend I had all 4 tires on BOTH of our household vehicles replaced. Definitely not a small chunk o change being spent! I had researched prior, knew exactly what I wanted, and made appointments for exactly that - so not much room for used-car-salesman upsell tactics there. Dude found his moment to work that upsell though. Over a cheap pressure sensor, at that. Ugh! I had to go back and forth with a negotiation over it, and also "no I *don't* want to replace all 4. Really. Just the one that's bad. ... No, I don't care about the value or longevity concerns. I'm good. No thanks. NO! Dude! Just the one!" Honestly, I'm really freakin' perturbed that, when I'm dropping nearly TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS at your establishment, you can't just replace, gratis, what's probably a $5-$10 part so we can all just go about our days without hassle. These guys are amazing! Every time I have had to go there, they are professional and provide great service (this location in particular). I drove in with my spare on and needed a new tire before a trip. I didn't have an appt, but they still got me in and out in a good amount of time. Turned out the spare tire was the original and I needed a new one of those. So the next day (out of town) I went to DT and bought one. I was expecting them to just put it in the back. Those guys also took care of me and even put the spare in the compartment for me. I also recommend getting their warranty. With all the construction in the city, I've run over several nails. First as I'm pulling up this young man comes out and assist me before I can even walk through the door. To me that's the start of a good customer service experience. Now when it came to my tires I was given every detail about them. And even though I already had these on my truck and was replacing them.
