Discount Tire is the only place (IMHO) to buy your tires because if you have a problem or a flat they got you covered. Unbeknownst to me I had a nail in my drivers side front tire - when I got my oil changed at the Kia Dealership on Saturday they insisted on putting on my spare because of the nail (even though the TPMS light wasn't on). Therefore wrecking my weekend plans because DT was already closed for the day and they are closed on Sunday (they are in the same camp as Hobby Lobby and Chik Fil A). So after I limped the 3 wheeled Devil Mobile to the UDub and dropped off the sick Golden Child I headed up to Northgate DT - easy to find (but I couldn't find the customer entrance - just park in the lot and walk around to the street entrance) Casey greeted me and quickly assessed my problem went in typed in my account - tire was under warranty (I had to pay $18) and got me back on the road in about an hour. Clean waiting room with coffee bottled water and Free Wi-Fi - great way to start my week after the week I had last week! Best and most professional DT I've ever been to (and I already was a fan!) Make sure they actually put the tires you paid for on your car. I needed to replace tires that I had bought from Discount Tire Store a couple of years ago. I was a walk in customer. I selected the tires I considered appropriate to replace the front tires on my old Honda. The sales agent wrote up the order so that the old tires were to be moved from the rear and the new tires put on the back of the car without mentioning this to me. I caught it on the paperwork and had him change it since I wanted the newer and better tires on the front end. Putting them on the back would have made sense on a rear wheel drive car but my honda had front wheel drive and the tires with better traction belonged on the front. They told me it would take and hour and a half even though they were telling people on the phone that it would take an hour to an hour and 15 minutes if they brought their car in immediately. I walked up to the nearby mall to kill time but was only gone about 15 minutes when I got a call telling me the car was finished. I went back to the store and picked up the paperwork and my keys. I decided to double check to make sure the new tires were on the front, as I requested, and to my surprise there were no new tires on either end of the car. I guess that is why they finished the job so quickly. I asked one of the sales agents to come out to the parking lot and convince me that there were actually new tires on the car. He agreed that they had not installed the tires I had paid for. The guys behind the counter got a good laugh over the mistake wherein my paperwork was deposited in the finished basket instead of the to-do basket. Then they told me it would be about an hour and a half. Wrong Answer. After I complained they took my car into the shop and changed the tires. This company provides good tires at a good price and the work has always been satisfactory in the past but now I will make sure I have a good look at my "new" tires before I drive off the lot. read more

Discount is in the name, so that's probably what you should expect. If you're looking for good prices, this is a solid option; we've bought 3 sets of tires from them now. That said, I've had hit-or-miss experiences with the staff in terms of knowledge and ability to solve problems other than putting on a new tire. From mis-quoting load ratings to potentially cross-threading lug bolts, there are too many little errors that don't get made at other shops. read more

I recently moved to Seattle and have a long history of using Discount Tire for my tire service in another state. I Had a flat tire and went to this store as was closest to my home. Anthony was really nice and helpful and my tires were replaced and fixed within a few hours. I had an issue with one of my tires that was fixed and I called and spoke to Carlos (manger) the next day. He was so helpful and quickly ensured my issue was resolved at no extra expense to me. I really appreciated Carlos being so professional, kind and helpful . Ive bad quite a terrible experience with this specific location. Spent a fortune online for a new set of wheels and tires and after waiting in line for an hour or so i was told i was gonna receive a text when my install is complete. 24 hours go by and no text so i wait 3 hours on hold to check my status and they say its been done and they just forgot to text. I thought ok whatever mistakes happen and went to go pickup my car. then i get handed back my car keys which they managed to completely snap in half, and wrapped it with scotch tape? WTF now my car isnt even reading my keys and wont start and im stuck with more issues. Worst part is nobody apologized for completely screwing over a paying customer and made no effort to compensate me for their mistakes. Needless to say take your business elsewhere unless you want headaches and excess credit card debt lol read more

They are very nice but have a system whereby they can only find you by phone number. My mom brought my car in for new tires. Several weeks later I take it in because of low pressure. It was not drivable so I had to leave it. But they couldn't find me. Well. My mom called and wouldn't take no for an answer. They found her on an old land line that is years old and long gone. IF they only have one way to locate an account I think it would only make sense that they would verify phone numbers. How did they check her in weeks ago? This made a bad situation so much worse. I drive a stick shift volkwagon. I left my car for 2 hours while they put the 2 new tires on my car. When I came back they told me there is something wrong with your car, there is no reverse. We tried and tried, several of us, we could not find reverse! (Did they consider asking google where reverse might be in a 98 VW?) My car was UN-driveable, and so I told them I did not want the tires, as I am unable to drive it. They claim the only thing 'wrong' was that there was no reverse. They generously told me to keep the tires for FREE.. I had to call a tow truck, as well as have my GEAR SHIFTER CHANGER FIXED, as it had been broken. 3 different guys and none of em could find reverse! Also their :'middle man handling my 'claim' FLEET RESPONSE, said there was no proof they broke the shifter. How much PROOF do you need? When I drove in, my car was fine! I take excellent care of it, and never let anyone else drive it, or valet park it. They hire young guys out of high school, who actually do NOT know how to even drive a stick shift. I missed an important appt. and spent 7 hrs of my valuable time taking and waiting for transportation on a late 5PM afternoon. They said "you got the tires free' so be satisfied. Well I'm not satisfied. I paid $150 for towing, and $170.00 to have my Gear Shifter Changer replaced. Discount Tire(EECk!) gives lame treatment/borderline dishonest,when they know they broke it!!! Taking advantage of a woman, no one helped me when I could barely drive . Oh can we maybe call a towing service for you? Nothing. from Discount Tire! they do not know ANYTHING ABOUT CARS EXCEPT HOW TO CHANGE AND PUT ON TIRES which is a nice talent, but PERHAPS part of their job training if there is any, would be to ASK if they can really drive or at least really know how to shift gears??? My God. I feel like we are de-evolving as a society. read more

My wife had an appointment, but still had to wait an hour for the new tires we'd ordered to be installed. She gave clear instructions -- one tire ON the car was the SPARE, and the one in the luggage area was FLAT. The spare was to be put back under the car, and the flat plus the other three were to get the new tires. When was given her keys and went out to the car, the flat tire was still in the car, and the spare tire (with 50 miles on the tread!) had been replaced. Grrrr! She told them how they messed up, they were apologetic, and then 'fixed' the situation. When she got home, I checked under the car, and the spare tire was now one of the old 80% worn tires, and our original spare was just gone into their tire pile I presume. And overall, the time taken was almost 90 minutes. Communication is rather poor there. If you have something simple, like replace the four tires that are on the car, I'm sure they are fine. But if you have anything unusual (lots of people must come in with a spare on the car, right?), you'd better tape notes directly on the tires so the person who does the install, who must not read the notes taken in the customer area in the store, can do what you expect. Maybe just the end of a long day, but really, after messing up once, they still couldn't get it right the second time. Not worth my time to come back looking for that spare that has 99% of it's tread left. read more

My tire light came on and I headed to Northgate Discount Tire. This was 8AM on Monday morning 11/7. The parking lot there is really small compared to the business they do. After driving around trying to find parking with no luck I decided to head to the Shoreline shop. I was able to park easily and as a walk in had to wait 1 1/2 hours which was ok with me. Booking online appointments were several days out hence the walk in. The staff at both places are professional and courteous. They checked out my tires and sensor and said were all ok. I had all 4 tires replaced on my Audi A4 and Discount Tire damaged both of the Tire Pressure Sensors in my rear tires. It cost me $372 to have them both replaced and Discount TIre refused to refund me for any of it because I didn't keep the broken parts. Terrible service, would never shop there again. read more

I say, Discount Tire. Brett was so kind & said my tires looked fine, but offered to check the air pressure. He found the spare tire burried in the trunk. The tech, Khalil, was chill & seemed unphased by the stuff on top of the spare tire cover. He discovered it was low & inflated it for me. When I asked, "Does everything else look OK?" He said, it looked perfectly fine. When I asked, Brett let me know where I could go, if I wanted to check the alignment. Then, offered to rotate the tires for me. I would normally give five stars because Discount Tire (DT) has been great over the years. This comment applies to the company, not the Northgate Store where I had my last service. They're great. No, this is to warn you to look carefully at the added fees, one of which is a choice. I had purchased for four 60K miles-rated tires some 3 1/2 years ago plus certificates "for refund or replacement" for each tire. The current trip to DT was for replacing a road-damaged tire covered by a certificate. It was great, no questions asked. And it was ok that I had to pay for a new tire ($123 Yokohama) so there'd be two tires that matched the status of wear for handling and safety purposes. I don't recall what I paid for the certificates years ago. However, it is now $18.95 for EACH tire, plus tax. And, I had to buy a new certificate for the tire replaced under the original certificate. That seems wrong. The second fee for $19.00, plus tax, was for "installation and life of tire maintenance." That covered the new tire--the one not damaged. I saw a recent review here about how DT fixed her tire, no charge. Well, did she pay $19 for that coverage, or not? I don't recall that fee being required 3 1/2 years ago, just mounting and balancing that would not have come to $19 X 4 tires = $96 plus tax. So, if you want to buy four new tires plus the $18.95 each "refund/replacement fee" certificate, plus the $19 each for the "installation and life of tire maintenance" fee, you'll be adding $75.80 plus $76.00 = $151.80 plus tax to the costs of your tires, plus an additional $18.95 for each tire you bring in with road damage for replacement under the original certificate. I made a bad financial decision to renew the two certificates. Consider the likelihood you'll need the tire replacement certificates and instead buy better tires. As for the $76.00 installation and lifetime tire repair (nails and the like), do some comparison shopping. I'll think twice and research other companies before buying at any DT outlet despite the otherwise wonderful experiences I've had with the company over the years. read more

I've been a customer of Discount Tire for at least a decade. I usually go to the Burien location, but when I found myself with a flat while working, I had to come here. The flat was in a back tire that was still under warranty, but my front 2 tires had bubbles that I'd been praying for weeks wouldn't pop. Joe was really concerned about my tires but I told him I honestly couldn't afford to replace them. He said he'd see what he could do and he absolutely delivered. I'm a full time single mom of a 4yo and 2yo and he saw the car seats in my car and knew he had to help me. I honestly started to tear up at his generosity. I had been a longtime customer of Discount Tires, mainly because it was near my house and convenient. I will not go back due to rude customer service and what seems like a slimy scam. I bought four tires from this place, each one with a warranty. When I got a flat tire, I went in to buy what should have been a complimentary tire. I was told that the warranty was not valid because I hadn't had my tires rotated often enough. I had to pay full price for the tire. It didn't say ANYWHERE in my warranty that I had to rotate the tires. When I explained this to the sales person, he could care less and barely listened as he reached for my credit card. Wow... talk about service and great prices!!! So, when I first bought my tires here, the ones I wanted weren't at the Northgate location, but they did have them in the Kirkland location. They offered to have them shipped over to the Northgate location, but since I was going to be on the East side that coming weekend, I figured it'd be just as easy to have them put on there. I paid for everything at the Northgate location and they set up the time for my appointment over in Kirkland. A year or so later and a few tire rotations... It was again time to get another tire rotation. I had made an appointment to get a tire rotation and seriously it was a mistake to make it so early in the morning (Friday night lasted a bit longer than I thought & I still had a few friends crashed out at my place). I was up in time to cancel the appointment and state that I would be in later that day sometime. Upon arrival, I didn't even have to enter the place (and no, they were not slow, all bays were full). I was greeted in the parking lot by Robert who confirmed who I was and I was the one who owned the SUV (I was a few steps away from the SUV on my way to the entrance). He took my mileage, I gave him my key and stated that since I had a previous appointment that it would be about a half an hour wait. Luckily he had a uniform on & he knew certain facts about my tires and previous mileage, otherwise I might have questioned handing over my keys. Less than a half an hour later, I'm walking back into the parking lot as they were pulling my SUV out. Turned to walk to my SUV and Armando asked to confirm it was me?? He stated that they had rotated the tires, checked them out and everything looked good, handed over the keys and stated have a good day!! I thanked him and went on my way. Terrible. I have always gone to Discount tire since I've had to purchase tires. But I won't ever go there again. I recently had tires replaced on my vehicle for over $650 - I had brand new floor mats in my car (expensive ones) and upon picking up the vehicle...discovered huge black boot prints all over the tan floor mats. After being hung up on by the manager! When I called them and told them the problem they told me they didn't make the shoe prints! They finally said they'd replace them if they determined they did make them. Absolutely rude and bad service. I will never go here again. They have lost a lifelong customer. read more

I have had good experience here in the past but just got raped on price and I'm still mad a week later. Originally I bought two tires at $191 each. 4 weeks later I bought 2 more but now the price was $265. The manager David Kang lied through his teeth to me, telling me how the price had gone up and this was his best price. At home I did some price checking and even the Discount Tire web site still had them listed at $191. ---- Updated. I did present to them the pricing from others and then they matched it. I'm giving 5 stars because the manager is really great, I think he is the manager. My Lexus dealership wanted to charge me $799 to change 3 tire pressure sensors...discount tire charged $60 each WITH labor and computer programming. I got the pressure light checked prior and he was just really helpful. Being a young car owner, I didn't feel taken advantage of. The rest of the staff is friendly. It was taking more than the allotted time estimate and the manager personally stepped in to make sure it was going as fast as possible as I had to rush to class right after. He assured me he would get it done as fast as possible. My only complaint is that the guy who answered when I called, John, was a bit snappy at my at 9 am lol. But other than that great place!! I have always been a discount tire customer for more than 10 years. So one of my tire blew up the other day and I made an appointment to get it look at. They told me they cannot repair the tire so they have to replace with a new one, they told me I got pro-rated charge since the same tire also blew up about 2 months ago. I told them my tires should have certificate on them, then they told me the front tire have certificate on them but when they install the new tire, they always put it on the rear, so it should be the rear tire that have the certificate, not the front one. They tell me I need to buy 2 certificates to replace the front tire and buy another certificate to insure the new tire. I told them I'm sure I have all 4 tires under certificates since I blew the same tire recently, so I went back to my car, get all the invoices I ever received from them and show them all my certificates purchase. And then I just remember something that surprises me, my front and rear tires have different size! so when they told me about the rotation, it's all non-sense, you cannot rotate tires if they have different sizes. So as a matter of fact, I should have both of my front tires certified. But then I just don't want to argue over an additional $23 to buy the extra certificate so I paid for 2 certificates instead of 1 while he's trying to reason with me. So I paid and I look over the new tire. I quickly realized that they put the wrong tire size! They put the rear size tire at the front. I'm glad I noticed that, otherwise it will be hazardous when I drive it on the road. After they fix, at least they apologize for the mistake. After this incident, I might try Les Schwab next time I need a new tire as I heard good things about their lifetime warranty. read more

YOU GUYS! I left DT in TEARS from the overwhelming gratitude I had for them saving me from an awful situation (that, or I was major PMS'ing). I came in with two irreparable ruptured tires, one tire in need of repair, and a horrid attitude to match out of fear of what this would cost me considering I seem to have this problem on my run-flat tires every.single.year and they are nothing short of expensive. One of the managers, Martin, and his whole team are unrivaled when it comes to service. UnFREAKINGRivaled.
