As much as I've loved dealing with Discount Tire in the past I must say this location is the only unpleasant one I've ever had to deal with! I will never return to this location! I had the worse experience with Jim! I was told by a different employee at this location the last time I went there that THEY broke 3 of my studs by putting them on incorrectly! & sent me to Greulichs to be fixed for FREE. I went there & was told they didn't have a deal with them to give me the free price! So today, Jim tells me after purchasing 4 new tires that he can't remove a tire because I have to get the studs fixed first! He refers me to Suns Devil Auto to fix only 2! They DID NOT do as was asked and I left there unsatisfied as well! (Thank the man above for sending me to Greulichs off McClintock & Elliott! They went above & beyond to fix my problem!) I just wanted to take a sec and say thank you to Jack (Buck) and Zack at Discount tire in Tempe AZ on Priest and Elliott. They were very knowledgeable and i must say i trust them and i don't trust to many mechanics or contractors but Jack and Zack will always have my trust. I ran Nitto All Terrain Tires on my Toyota Tacoma and i go off road frequently. I was informed by Jack that the Nitto were on Back order and to try the Yokohama A/T/S all terrain so i did. At first i did not like them and i let them know my concern and they listened and were very accommodating and offered to make it right. I drove on the tires for a few days and my ignorance went away and what do you know Jack was Right i do like them better and the performance on the tire to me is exactly what Jack said they would be. I would never go to anyone else i appreciate all of Jacks Honesty and Zack's patience while i was concerned for the new tires i bought. Discount Tire on Priest and Elliott and Tempe is the best. After discovering a flat tire, I immediately looked up the nearest Discount Tire. I have been buying tires from Discount Tire for 20 years and they have always treated me well. Arrived at 5:58 pm and was greeted in the parking lot. I was leaving early the next day for a road trip and was desperate to get the tire changed. They replaced the tire under warranty (could not be repaired) and had me on my way quickly. They never once made be feel uncomfortable or rushed for showing up 2 minutes before closing time. Have used this location for years but Love this place. I bought my car a few months ago with full service and stuff. Yesterday tire was flat and had to us my compresses to fill it up but car still showing problem. took to dealership I bought it from and told too busy and go fill your tires myself and come back. Went to Discount down the street and Gabriel says yep pull right up and we will get them filled up. took 2 min, side note they had my fav radio station playing even turned mine off and on to make sure. he told me it was all good to and explained how the reader works for the tire pressure and the amount of years the sensors would last. Even though i did buy a tire warranty for my new car at dealership and cannot take to this store, I just might void it and get my next tires here. Great Place read more

Been here an hour and a half now, car still waiting outside. I am only getting one rim changed out due to it being damaged, I guess the small price I am paying doesn't matter to them. I now watched four people after me being taken care of, guess what, still waiting. I should of never paid first. He told me an hour, now to watch all these people jumping in front of me is extremely wrong, they did not have appointments. I was sitting near the front desk to confirm no appointment. Made an appointment to get tires 2 weeks in advanced, they weren't ordered. Then they said it would be in in 3 days. Called them in advanced and they said it scheduled to be in that day still. Went in and then they told me it'll be in tomorrow... extremely irritated now, i call again and they said it will be in tomorrow again. Went in because one of my tires was low, even though I had just had them all filled the day before. They found a piece of metal in it, repaired it for no charge! I didn't even buy my tires there! I do not recommend going to this specific discount tire.. The guys are not fast they are just sitting around when my car has been sitting in the parking lot for a hour now they have bays open for it and only 3 customers in the lobby.. Not happy when I leave after getting 4 new tires put on and when I leave the car shakes out of control, after going back they had to re balance the tire so now I've spent over 2 hrs of my time when they are slow and I made a appointment.. Dobson and chandler blvd location is where in going from now on they price matched my tires and got the service done quick and I didn't have to go back when they had 10 customers in the lobby.. The manager at this location needs to re think what he is doing at this location, start trying to get people for the long run not the short money and hire some sales reps that don't just sweat talk there customers and don't stand behind there promises! read more

I went from loving discount to behind disgusted with them. I just got a new tire on vets day for $50 more than the one I bought yesterday. Wtf same store same tire differnt price?? Left my rim here yesterday so when they got the tire in the would put it on the rep made my appt said when I came back would only be a few min to put it on I wouldn't have to wait. Back again today of course differnt guy tells me an hour wait. I tell him I have an appt the tire was put in the rim yesterday was told it would be a few min. A super shop here, even for a Discount Tire store. These guys are exeptional professionals at all levels. I am probably the fussiest customer to please, and do all my reseach on line before purchasing most items. They answered knowlegebly and honestly in satisfying my concerns and questions with different tire brands. Most importantly they matched or bettered most competitors pricing I showed them. WOW! Just watching them work while waiting for your vehicle is like witnessing a carrier crew prepping fighters. Gabriele is the store manager who runs a tight ship. He leads by his own hard working example and ethics on the shop floor. Pleasant experience from the minute I walked in the door. Merritt was a good guy, had a great attitude and seemed to genuinely enjoy his job. The guys in the back really hustle to get the job done and literally jog or run everywhere they go. And anytime a guy came into the lobby to get a bottle of water, they offered water to the patrons. Would not recommend this place to an enemy. After 3 times of going here they still didn't have the tires correct. The car would drive perfect at 60mph and at 65 it would shake to the point you could lose control easily. I took it to another discount tire and the manager said he was embarrassed that the company he works for allows that quality of work at the other location. He showed me personally all the things this location messed up. He fixed the and checked all 4 tires himself personally after listening to my horror story about this location. After he fixed it the car drove better than it ever had. Needless to say drive past this location and go to the location on Southern and McClintock. These people deal with public safety and they set the tires up in the most unsafe way possible. read more

The service at this discount tire was the best I have ever experienced. I normally don't do yelp but I didn't know how else to recognize the exceptional service I received here. I got a flat tire last night and came into get it repaired. JP Holden was extremely helpful in assisting me with the process and showing the tread life of the rest of my tires. He also made some great recommendations of what tire sizes I could go to with that have a more aggressive tread which is exactly what I was looking for. To top it all off they repaired my tire, put it back on and mounted my spare tire back FOR FREE!! I plan on getting new tires here in the next couple months and I know for sure that I will be coming here to work with JP.! read more

Had 4 new tires put on. A few days later, I would hear a metal to metal "twang" sound ... coming from drivers side front when turning; reproducible. I spent hours trying to find the source of the noise. Thinking it was related to recent work, I, unannounced, showed up. First person to greet me was the manager. He put me on hold (less than 5 min) until his field guy returned to cover the front. It took him less than 10 minutes to diagnose and repair ... his young ears located the sound under drivers seat ... a loose empty water bottle. He then offered to re-torgue the lug nuts (my best guess to what I thought was the problem). In / Out in less than 30 minutes w/o appointment for something that was my problem. I feel guilty, no payment accepted. Shop here ... worth the wait, like I did to have these tires put on. This is a 5 star customer business; an accurate rating for this ol' timer ... sigh ... who values old time customer service. read more

I took my new 2012 Honda Pilot to Discount Tire to put some air in a low tire and after they inspected the tire with me watching, they found a nail in it. They said they would fix it for free. They assigned this job to a young person on their staff. They fixed it and I drove the car home. The next morning my husband noticed a dent in the car in the area of the repaired tire and upon further inspection we found 22 scratches and 3 chips in the paint, all in the same area. We submitted two claims to the claims department and a final letter to both the founder and CEO of the company and all three were rejected. The final letter coming from the corporate office by the Department Manager of Claims on behalf of Mr. Thomas Englert, the CEO of Discount Tire stated "In reviewing all information available, we find that the scratched areas do not resemble anything that could have occurred during service. We studied the photos closely and do not find, based on our experience that the scratches match up with any tool the crew might use. Therefore, we do not find any responsibility on the part of Discount Tire. Discount Tire is not in a position to make any payment in this matter." We speculate the young technician was wearing a bracelet of some kind that young people wear today, but unfortunately we were not looking over his shoulder when he was making the repair. Many of the scratches were in the location adjacent to where the torque wrench was used to tighten down the lug nuts. The others were around the wheel well. There were no other scratches or chips found anywhere else on the car. A local body shop estimated the damage at around $2,000. We will not use Discount Tire again in the future. read more

I have always gone to Discount Tires both for the free tire check, free rotation (if you buy the tires there), and for all my tires. Yesterday was the first time I visited this particular location, and I was absolutely blown away! I went in for the air check, and the man helping me said I was long overdue for a tire rotation. He told me it would be 30-40 minutes, so on a spur of the moment I decided to just do it and hope the 30-40 minutes estimate was true. From the time I parked for the free aircheck to the minute they handed me my keys back, was literally 15 minutes. I am not exaggerating. There were tons fo people there, but everyone who worked at the store was smiling, running, I didn't see a single person there sitting or waiting around. I honestly believe everyone at the store is trying to get you out with solid advice and as quickly as possible. I will absolutely be going to this location,everyone was absolutely wonderful and I am so thrilled! As a caveat, I did go at 9:30 in the morning, but there were at least 10 other people in the waiting room, so the 15 minutes was not a product of a deserted waiting room. read more
