Unfortunately this DT wasn't what I expected. At the same time I was really upset for waiting for hours just for a 10 minute job. I originally arrived at 09:57, during this period I was told that I was going to be in my vehicle at 11:45. It wasn't until after 11:45, the front counter had to personally told the operator that my vehicle needed to be next. What I also found upsetting was that they threw car keys on top of the desk like loose change. Ironically my car was not next it was second to next. I was upset for waiting for almost three hours for a 10 minute job. Another thing I found upsetting was that the crew was attending too the luxury cars like the white Dodge Challenger, and the Tesla that came after my vehicle. The truth is there was 7 check ins after I checked in. And 6 of them were sent off came in and out. Josh and Colton where the managers in charge at this location. I came in with an attitude as I just took a nail to my front left on the I-10. Alex was quick to greet me and assure me my tire needs would be met. Less than a 2 hour wait (they were super busy and I didn't have an appointment), my tire was repaired at no cost! Friendly and courteous staff. Quick and efficient service. Scheduled an appointment and they were very attentive. Love the fact they are a Christian based company, so take into consideration they are closed on Sundays. Take advantage of the tire warranty they offer - it's worth the extra charge because if anything happens then you can replace the tire for cheaper than starting over with a new tire again. Great customer service! Someone had stolen the key to my locking lug nut on my spare tire when they broke into my Jeep. I went to Discount where I've have always bought my tires. They had a long wait so I was going to go back the following morning. Instead, the manager had me pull around to the bays and when one of the guys had a minute he was able to remove the locked lug nut. Discount you confuse me... The last time I went in there I had pre-ordered my tires and made an appointment online and I showed up and dropped off my car. They were expecting me at the right time and the drop-off appointment went smoothly. I came back for it at the appointed time and it was ready on time too, but it was then that I discovered that they put a whole different set of tires on there because they didn't have the set in stock that I had pre-ordered! I really didn't like the other tires I got, they were way too bouncy and cushy in comparison to the other tires I'd previously had. It made me feel like I was steering a floating Lazy Boy Lounger through the Straights of Gibraltar... Riding in your car shouldn't make you sea sick! That took a lot of getting used to. Anyway, I was also annoyed because the TPMS rebuild (that I paid $9.50 per tire for) apparently didn't fix the TPMS alert on my dash, so about a week later I went back in and spoke to an employee about the TPMS alert light continually going off on my dashboard. Using a special tool he diagnosed that the TPMS was dead on the front left wheel and said he'd order a new one and said he'd call me when it arrived and that the part, plus installation, would be around $80. Well that was 4 months ago... I guess I can safely assume now that I have been forgotten? And my stupid TPMS sensor is STILL screwed up too! So to sum it up, Discount is good at making appointments and being on time, but I'm not at all impressed with the swapping of tire brands without so much as a courtesy phone call to let me know, and I'm not impressed with the utter lack of follow up on the part they were going to order for me to fix the TMPS problem either! read more

But because of Covid they had curbside assistance. I called into the office and let them know my issue and that I would be waiting in my car to keep myself and everyone around safe at this time. On a Saturday morning as I was leaving the Scottsdale Farmer's Market this good looking fellow knocked on my window startling me and my poor sleeping dog. Based on the fact that it was mid day in Old Town, and his knocking wrist was adorned with a pretty fancy watch, I concluded he was not a mugger and rolled down the window. The gent didn't want to ask us to lunch (disappointing), but did let me know I had a flat tire (also disappointing but helpful). He then directed me to the Discount Tire down on Scottsdale Road indicating they'd air it up or help me change it. I rolled down the street on my now sad tire and spoke with the fellas at the tire shop. The Scottsdale shop is undergoing some major renovations at the moment and the seating was all outdoor under a bright red tent. They were still surprisingly proficient and quick about changing the spare even as the guys were working out of make shift bays and storage units. My one annoyance was when I mentioned I usually buy my tires at Costco and the guy helping look at the tire made some smarmy remark about how I buy from Costco, but come to Discount to get them fixed for free. I a) had gotten this car with the tires on it about a year and a half ago and b) was just letting him know I wanted to check prices before I did anything (reasonable for a $1000 purchase) and c) actually expected them to charge me something to put the spare on the car. I had no idea they'd do this for anyone at no cost. They did tell me that I needed 3 out of 4 of them replaced, but I am not one to make a major purchase without some research (i.e. calling Bud over at MB Motors so he could tell me what to do). I stopped by the Discount near my office at Kyrene and Elliott and went over some of the options available with the sales staff. The tires I wanted were about $40 more each than the ones on the car currently and they didn't have them in stock, but he said he could get them when I was ready. Despite the fact that I am pretty sure these guys get some kind of commission, there was no pressure and he notated the tires, told me they'd beat any other price I came up against and sent me on my way. I did a lot of comparison shopping and found that Discount did, in fact, have the lowest price on the brand and size tire I wanted. But, the particular type was sort of special order and two other shops had told me it might take 3-4 days to get the tires in. Once I finally made my decision and was tired of driving around on the less than attractive spare wheel, I made the order and these guys had it in that afternoon. I made an appointment the next day at lunch and they had my car done in the promised hour. I highly recommend scheduling an appointment once you make your tire choice. You are prioritized over walk-ins, plus I like seeing my name on the little board when I come in. read more

I called this location to ask how much they charged to check just the air in the tires and they said it was free! I decided since I am a silly girl and don't have an air guage, I should probably have someone check my tires. They told me to pull up to the first garage and a friendly guy greeted me within 30 seconds and checked my tires. I also found out, if you purchase your tires there, they rotate them for free. I am so impressed with this Discount! I was told by my repair center that I had a nail (turned out to be a screw) in my tire and that if I took it to Discount, they would take care of me. When I arrived, even though there was a line, they acknowledged me and let me know they would be with me soon. The service person went with me to my vehicle to look for the screw and all the while was making conversation. I felt like I was talking to a friend! They did tell me it would be about an hour and a half wait which was a bummer. I told them I had an appointment at 6 in Gilbert but as long as I left by 5:30, I'd be okay. Well, I'm not sure if they shuffled the schedule around or if they just work really quickly, but they got me out of there a lot earlier than I expected! This location is to be avoided at all costs. Unless you want to sign in then wait 45 minutes only to be informed they don't have your size tire you would be best served going somewhere else. They must not believe in having a computer that instantly displays available inventory or they're so confident they have every available type and size that a simple check is unnecessary and a waste of their precious time. Additionally, they aren't yet quite convinced this new technology called "computers" is a reliable and lasting option of the future (hence the discount pricing). Even an old fashioned paper ledger couldn't account for the amount of time required to inform me of their inadequate inventory. In conclusion, they must simply employ a large muscular, blockhead paid minimum wage who just slowly sifts through a mountain of tires out back one at a time. Slowly but surely he heaves tires around until he either succeeds in his sole quest or fails. Typically, a forty-five minutes process. To their credit once my time had been unnecessarily wasted, they claimed that the Awatukee location had the tires I needed (I guess that location uses computers?). I was told that my name was on the list and they were anticipating my arrival. You might ask to actually watch them make this call to avoid the anger and awkwardness of getting there and interacting with a person at the counter who acts as though your suffering from delusions of grandeur or is just a liar trying to cut in line. Of course they tried overcharge me hehehe but i brought Tire Rack print out with me and they matched it. Though they totally messed up balancing of those tires they fixed it for free 2 weeks later, no questions asked. Than i came back to get one of my tires replaced on my other car and they did overcharged me A LOT as i did not bother looking up any competitors info. And i mean A LOT, maybe close to 80%. NOT cool at all. Especially, when they look you in the eye and say - we guarantee this is cheapest price. Discount Tires at Elliot Tempe had and they could be able to replace it for me that day. On the way there I got really bad traffic, so I called them and let them know I would be 5-10 minutes late. The men here are always, 100% Profesional, courteous, and helpful when advising on tires, whether you need them or not. They're always fair, and honest. Wait times are variable, but they are #1 in customer service no matter what. I've never had a bad experience here in all these years (neither has my mom, who's been using Discount Tire for 15 years, it relieves me that she's being taken care of as well!). I brought my car here to get a tire checked because I had a flat tire. They rep said there's no way he can repair it. He advised me to go to a "Hispanic" shop if I wanted to get the tire patched up but said if he did it himself it would go against company policy because it doesn't meet Discount Tire's standards. The only option given was to buy a tire for $110. I went to Elite Auto Repair and they got the tire fixed at no cost and right away. I proceeded to do my oil change with them as well. I'm never going back to Discount Tire. I can never go in peace to get something taken care of unless I bring a "male" to accompany me because I'll always get screwed over. You know how it is. This isn't the first time I've dealt with something simple yet ridiculous at Discount Tire, but this is the last time I'm putting myself through type of any hassle even though this situation wasn't major...I saved $110 to go down the street. read more

Awesome customer service. I went to get a nail removed from my tire, which is free (another plus!) Unfortunately they couldn't repair it because the sidewalls were too cracked, rendering the tire dangerous to use overall even if patched up from the nail. I was then worried I'd have to spend money I wasn't planning on spending, but Brett said he would give me a used tire for $20 flat. And so it was, and the tire looks to be in decent condition.
