Costco wanted to upgrade me to the next set which, even with the running rebate, was over $100 more out the door. Discount tire dropped the ball once again. This used to be my go-to location so I'm surprised and disappointed. Went online on a Tues and found the tire I wanted. The website said "in stock" so I made an appointment for Saturday. Later that day found that Pepboys had the same tire on sale. Called DT and spoke to Josh who confirmed my Saturday appointment and said they could match the PB's price. Great! Saturday at 1:30 I bring my car in and the tech tells me they don't have my tires in stock. He attempts a lie and tells me they tried calling but couldn't reach me (I've been going there for a decade with the same phone number). You couldn't reach me for 5 days? Couldn't leave a message? My tire went flat at 80miles an hour on the freeway this morning. After putting my spare on I dropped off my flat to Discount tire employee Anthony. He took my info and got me on my way to work. Called me to get the information on the car and got to work. Said that they would check the tire for any damage and let me know. He could have easily said the tire needs to be replaced and can't fix it, but they patched it up and called me to come get it. They called a different location which was a little bit farther and luckily they had it. A good samaritin helped me by putting my spare on and I was on my way to DT within 15 minutes. I bought a set of wheels and tires at the Discount Tire in Silverdale, WA. The wheels were custom ordered, not a brand they typically carry. Turns out that the front wheels had a manufacturer defect that causes them to intermittently make a horrendous noise. I had taken my car to town mechanics, the Discount Tire in WA, and the BMW dealership in Chandler, AZ (I just moved here) and no one could figure it out. I stopped by Discount Tire here in Tempe and they were able to figure out what the was causing the noise. After diagnosing the problem, the manager here, Josh has been talking with the manufacturer working on getting me a new set of wheels or getting these repaired. These dudes put in a lot of work for wheels I bought at another location. Oh yeah, and all for zero dollars. These guys are great. Took a set of my BBS basket weaves for my 89 BMW which I recently refurbished to have some tires remounted. Now 3 of the 4 wheels have very visible marks where they put balancing weights on the outside of the wheels. The weights go on the back and inner wheel on BBS wheels or most high end wheels. Nobody puts weights on the outer rim with these wheels, but since I didn't specifically ask them not to ruin my wheels, they wouldn't fix them. Live and learn. Will stay with Costco from now on. Discount is very fast, but in too much of a hurry to do it right. I saved zero time and money by now having to redo their carelessness. If your wheels are remotely special go somewhere else. Bought a Lexus RX400H and one of the tire was bad and changed it. Driving back in less than 0.3 miles strayed to get wheel wobble Had to find a parking lot and crawled to a stop. Whew a scarry scarry experience. Had my car towed to Discount tires and left it overnight since it was closed. Am went to Discount tires and told them what happened. They recommended wheel balance and rotation. They balanced rotated wheels and got rid of the lock nuts and removed lock nuts and changed everyone of the lug nut. Recommended me to fix my stud which might have caused the loosening of the wheel and a wheel alignment. Now this is a class service, no rip off 5 star treatment. They also gave me a coupon for wheel alignment. I have a life time wheel balance and rotate now too. Price were super competitive. Paid 70 bucks for wheel balance, rotate and remove 2 lock nuts, change 20 lug nuts and supplied with 5 additional lug nuts, coupon for wheel alignment + Recommendations for stud.
