My experience purchasing new tires from Discount was 5+ Star. First I attempted to use the website and it would not let me select tires that were a slight bit wider than the stock on my BMW. I was certain there would be no problem, so I called. Marty worked everything out and had my tires ready when I arrived for my appointment. I arrived at a 3:30 pm during what seemed like a VERY busy day for them. They had my car in and finished in 50 minutes! These guys rock! No BS trying to sell add-ons or any of the extras many want to sell. I knew up-front the costs of mounting and the various taxes and 'environmental' BS. Brought a flat tire in for repair and to check it out. They didn't keep the time. We returned at the estimated time of two and half hours later and the tire was not "ready." Once we pressed they said the tire hole was to big to repair and we would need a new tire. Beware of the scam. We will update the review once we get the tire repaired. Update: We had the tire repaired for $12 at a Shell station in Tucson (Shell A & M ). We waited 20 minutes for the repair and install. I'll be filing a fraud incident report with the State of Arizona. read more

Unfortunately if you don't look the part, you won't get treated the same. I need to get a new tire for a flat I had got while down in Tucson. We worked everything out and he asked to have the tire. As I was backing in he stopped me and said I can come back to get the tire on. Odd, usually you just pull in, they hike it up and take care of it. No worries maybe they do it different here. Two hours later they call to say I can come back which all I did was park and wait I was out of town. They tell me at least an hour before they can get me in a bay. WHAT? I watched for that hour as trucks pulled into bays, got hiked up, tires removed and changed. Lowered and pulled out. What was I waiting two hours for??? Why wasn't my truck treated the same as the others? I asked two different employees who couldn't I've left an answer. It is strange for me to think about giving a tire joint 5 stars, so I am going with 4 because... Yay! I am definitely a fan! After doing some research between Costco, Sears and Discount Tires, I landed here. Even though it was a few bucks more than Costco, they are close to me and super convenient. We went in today and got hooked up with four "best" level tires by Jesus. He was awesome and knowledgeable, and took care of us quickly and efficiently. I love that Discount Tires is super consumer focused, and you get some great post complimentary service. Not sure about these negative reviews, but I can say they took great care of us not only this visit but when my Husband has had to purchase trailer tires or needed repair in the last year. read more

I had a flat tire from a sharp object and needed a new tire. I made an appt on line and it was cancelled so I showed up at the store when they opened. Was told their system has a issue. I was helped in order, and was in and out in a hour. During my time I watched as all the employees worked professionally and met everyone who entered politely. If I were a safety officer I would shut this place down. If I could give a negative review I would. My bf's tire had a bolt in it. He had to go to work and I didn't have multiple things planned for the day, so I took his truck to Discount. I was told that my bf would be called if they could not repair the tire. For one, they claimed they called him, but he never received a call. I arrived back at the store to pick up the truck and was given the keys back. THEY DECIDED TO PUT THE TIRE BACK ON THE TRUCK WHEN THEY KNEW THE TRUCK WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE WITH A MASSIVE BOLT AND LEAKING TIRE. Then they decide to take the truck out of the bay and inform me to buy a new tire because they cannot fix it. They didn't give the option of putting the spare tire on, only until I told them that we wanted the spare tire on. There is no supervision occurring here. Went in for routine rotation and balance which is included with new tires I bought . I called to make an appointment earlier with no problems. I was 5 mins early, but was seen 5 mins after my scheduled appointment. The staff was very courteous throughout my interaction. When the technician went to get my car, he ran to it... hustling to get my car in stall. I noticed they swiftly balanced then rotated the 4 tires and checked the air pressure on all 5 (including the spare under the car) tires. Overall, during a busy period, my car was complete between 30-45 mins after appointment time. I would recommend this place and I will return for the next tire rotation. read more

Went there on a Saturday, and while they looked busy they took care of me pretty quickly. The salesperson JT was very helpful and knowledgable. I needed a slow leak fixed, and while there they recommended I get the tires rotated, which I did. However, the person who did the work (Jesus?) failed to set the tire inflation to the correct amount after the rotation. My Sprinter van should have 49 PSI in the front and 70 in the back. When I left and checked a few miles later I saw it was reversed. I stopped at a gas station and corrected the PSI amounts, but if I didn't and hopped on the freeway, going 75 MPH with incorrect PSI could have been dangerous. Additionally it feels as if the balancing wasn't done correctly because I now get some vibration in the steering wheel on the freeway. I received my receipt as an email message. The message stated that I contact them if I have any concerns. A phone number and email address was provided. I sent them an email with my concerns but never heard back. I wanted new tires for my Jeep and Martin took time on a busy Saturday to go through photos with me to find the rims that I liked. He also suggested some tires. We made an appointment to have them put on Wednesday at 3:30. The entire team was on top of it. I was out of there a few minutes after 4! Looking for new tires or rims I wouldn't think twice about recommending this location on Houghton. Needed a new set of tires, so we called Discount, we've been getting tires from them for 5 years. The car we needed new tires on, we will be selling soon and asked if we could get the cheapest set. We were told the current set was below the manufacturer guarantee in regards to the mileage the tires wore out at. Was quoted at $450 for a set of 4 tires due to refunds we would receive from the warranty. Upon arrival to our appointment, the tread was measured and it was noted that there was uneven wear. This was not something even hinted at during the phone consultation. We were told no refund would be issued and that the tires would be $700. As we drove away, we had a bad feeling about how we were not told that the tread would have to be measured and felt taken advantage of. We called to ask that the work on our car be held off while we called another company. During our phone call with Jesus, he lowered the cost by $270 and asked if we thought that was fair. We told him we still wanted to price compare, to which he responded " you know, I can't send these tires back, I'd like to make this right so do you think the discount is fair?" We don't do guilt tactics, nor is it our problem that they were not forthcoming to begin with. They are a tire store and they can sell the tires to another customer. We found out that through another company we could get tires at a fraction of the cost, so we picked up the car and were issued a refund. Upon discovering that we found a better price elsewhere, my husband was told we could get a discount on the tires for the mileage warranty that was higher than we were quoted with Jesus. Obviously we didn't take it. Then, surprise! They have tires that are only $200!!! Interesting, we thought the cheapest was the $700 set? In summary, this location uses low quality sales techniques to get the most money they can squeeze out from any given customer. Do your research, don't take their word for it. I dropped off my truck to have a tire with a bolt in it repaired. The tire couldn't repaired and they had to order a tire. I was told it would be ready in the afternoon. Understandable. At 2:00 having heard nothing I called and requested an update. I am told I have the tire, do you want to bring in your truck. I said um....the truck is there..silence...hold please.. The guy comes back on the line and says we'll add you to the schedule. Finally get a call at 5PM that the truck is ready. Already a little out of sorts with the poor customer service, I go to pick up my truck. I walk in and stand in line with 3 other people. Only one cashier working with the occasional person coming in telling someone their car is ready. 10 minutes go by. 6 people in line. The one cashier is still with the same customer. 15 minutes go by. I finally ask the guy is there anyone else working there and he finally gets help from the garage. Horrible experience. This is now the 3rd time I have had to go to discount tire since October. Every time I go I always get the best service and they have the most understanding staff. I work on ruff roads so when I got a flat after hitting a pothole they took care of it no charge. Time before that they took care of my tires by plugging a tire and rotating them all, again now charge. I am so glad I went through D liscount Tires and I will never go anywhere else. Never do I feel pressure to spend more money and when there is a charge they always help me fit the best fix with in my budget so I don't have to break the bank. I have been a loyal customer since 1997. That came to an end today. Got a screw in my almost new BFG KM2. They couldn't replace with a KM2 because they don't make them any more. They replaced with a KM3 . I had road hazzard warranty on all 5 on my Jeep. Well they use to apply the tread wear to the price. Not today. $82 for a screw in a almost new tire. Total B.S. I also asked for the old tire and told me they got rid of it. DONE... not going to ever be treated like crap by them again. Their warranty use to mean something. No more. Don't be fooled. read more

I got my tires for my car here a few months back. Went in today. It took a few minutes to be noticed. But I had a screw in one of my tires and its covered by the warrenty. I left thinking everything was all fixed made it several miles down the road and my tire was losing air. I stopped and checked it had to fill it with my little compressor I keep for emergency. The tire was leaking from their plug. Putting me n my 2 year old daughter in danger what would have happened if we made it to I10 and the tire went out on the intestate on our way home. Very dissapointed I wont go back. This isnt the first time I had bad service from this location. read more

I am usually pleased with the service at Discount Tire. This new shop is not living up to standards. After having new tires installed, my niece's car had a clunk and the low tire light was on. Mentioned it at a local auto parts shop and was told to check the lug nuts. He'd had 2 of his customer come in from fresh tires from this store with same issue. They don't torque the lug nuts. Stopped in to have them reset the light, and noticed they aren't using the torque wrenches properly. Sure enough, lug nuts on all 4 were barely tight. Buyer be warned. read more

I got air in my tires at the beginning of the cold spell. It was the first time I was ever there and was thrilled with not having to get out of my car. Well my car was riding funny and it is hard to tell by looking if your tire is down just a few pounds. In the rain the other night it was very obvious that one of the tires was low. I flew over to discount tire today and the tire had 28lbs of pressure. I knew it must have a leak. Well pulled around to the other side so I could unload and got my car ready for them to drive it. They fixed my tire, it had a nail in it. I don't know where since I am only on paved roads but whatever. No charge for this service wtf but great. After I loaded back in the car I gave the man that helped me get my run away wheel chair back some money for the person who did my tire. They are great. read more

For the second time in 6 months this shop has saved me loads of money! The first time a different tire shop told me that not only couldn't my flat tire be repaired, but that my current tires were discontinued and i'd have to buy 4 new tires. Luckily I got a second opinion from Discount Tire who fixed my flat for free! Now today I bring in my husband's car for new tires because the dealership told us the tires were cupped and unsafe to drive on and that we needed a whole new set. Once again, Discount Tire checked the tire tread (all good), checked for cupping by balancing the tires, and rotated them. Turns out the dealership didn't have the tires balanced properly and that's all that needed to be done. Tires are good to go and safe to drive on. Discount Tire's excellent customer service and honesty in business just easily saved me $500. They've got a customer for life in me! read more
