I purchased my tires from discount tire and I caught a nail. Since I don't live near any of their locations, I put a plug in the nail hole so that I could drive an hour to the discount tire to have it repaired. After making an appointment and driving an hour and showing up with my keys, they informed me that since I put a plug in the hole, they were refusing to fix the nail hole. They proceeded to make me feel bad for trying to plug the hole in the First place like it's a big deal. They refuse to patch the hole and sent me on my way. No help. read more

I have been a loyal customer of this location since it opened. Often dealing with the same core employees, so I don't think the change in service and attitude is due to poor training or someone new. I have 6 vehicles and trailers, and a working farm. I go through tires faster then most anyone. I have exclusively used Discount Tire for my tires - except for the ones that come on a new car. I've noticed a trend over the last few years of them becoming more and more picky about and less and less eager to repair tires. I do not buy certificates, because only 1 time (out of 16-20 tires) would it have saved me money, but I have over the years gotten a fair share of repairable middle of tread punctures due to all the gravel roads I travel on. These are supposed to be "free" repairs - but it is clear they are now just a chance to say I should have gotten certificates or to sell me new tires. Today I brought in two tires from two different vehicles, one that just got a slow leak, and another that I had procrastinated on getting repaired because I don't use the car much. I had an appointment. I was on time. I walked in and said I had an appointment and gave my info. I was then told it would be at least 2 hours to look at my 2 tires. I was surprised and said, "even with an appointment?" and was then told it would be about 45 minutes. Still a pretty long wait but not a big deal, except this is the THIRD time in a the last couple years that I have clearly stated my appointment time, name, and info and then been put at the back of the line - the other two times I waited hours for the tire to be ready only to discover they thought I was a walk in by them telling me, "you really should get an appointment next time." Then the employee came out to the truck to get the tires and immediately declared that could not be worked on, without even touching them. The older tire I was prepared for that answer, while not at the wear bars at all, it is getting there and as I said, this has been a continual trend of being more and more picky with more and more "we consider it unsafe even if the tire makers don't." The other tire though only has 8000 miles on it, it has the most minor extra wear on the the inside of the tire tread, this is because we have long gravel roads and has shown on our tires for as long as we have gone to this store - always noted, often discussed but harmless. This time I was told they could not even think about repairing a flat on this tire because of it. That it would not be caused by gravel. And that it showed something was seriously wrong with the car. The last feedback is fine, noted, I will have the dealer double check the alignment in the next inspection - but again I have seen this wear, Discount tire has seen this wear, for years and many many tires - in fact when I get a "country" employee they know it as soon as they see it as "gravel roads huh?". But now it doesn't get more than a glance and a complete and total denial of service despite thousands in tires bought there. I was offered some expensive non-matching tire instead. I've sworn by discount tire for years, I've recommended it, I've pushed to move over to it the fleet of 30+ vehicles for the company I run - but I'm done. Every time it is a bigger hassle, every time I'm talked down to and treated like I must be horrible for having tires that aren't cleanly worn on highways. I took this same tire, same day to another very large tire company - they were more than happy to repair it. They have the same safety reputation, took one look at it, and said "this tire is still in great shape, let's get it fixed." I stopped in last Monday after suffering a bad tire blowout on my way to work. An accident on the opposite side freeway happened just as I was passing through. Debris from the wreck spilled over to my lane and I drove over it. Immediately my Tire Pressure Sensor illuminated on my dashboard so I knew I had a puncture. I was able to make it into work but the tire was very low by this time. I scheduled some time off from work and headed out to replace the tire with the factory spare. It was a cold day and I was worried about getting rained on but the weather Gods spared me that morning. I had the spare on in about 20 minutes and soon I was able to get to Discount Tire. They have an attendant check you in as you enter their parking lot. The attendant asked me to park and wait in the vehicle. A minute later a Customer Service agent was helping me with my flat. I had purchased the Road Side Hazard Certificates from Discount Tire after I bought the vehicle from the dealer. The Certificates are $25 each tire and you only need to pay for a new certificate on the new tire plus whatever thread ware on the tire. Needless to say, I only had to pay $38 for the new tire. The guys at Discount had me on the road in less than 30 minutes. read more

I leave and call the place I made appt turns out it was this place and no one wrote down the appt but to come back in they'll do it. Turns out technician doesn't leave at 4 and were able to help me when I walked in. I made an appointment to have my tires rotated and have wiper blades installed. The shop was busy but I was greeted immediately. I was told it could take 45 min to an hour. Reasonable. I sat for maybe 25 minutes and my car was done! The people that work here are always polite and take great care with my car. A year ago this location checked and replaced a nearly new tire for me (metal screw in side wall) when the place I bought them could not find the time to help me. This team! I came in after a long day because of a low tire pressure alert on my dash. I was quickly triaged and diagnosed - there was a screw in my tire. A few days before Christmas, hosting house guests -- I was feeling particularly overwhelmed. In comes Brian, with the holiday spirit and just pure kindness. He told me that I was 23rd in line but that he'd get it done in the next few hours. He asked if I would wait there and I told him I am going to walk to sonic and get some tater tots because it had been a long day. He told me "I see you, you get those tater tots. You deserve them." And the he told me that he could likely patch my tire and it would be free. And he did it. Brian and the team turned a very stressful day around in just a few minutes. They were crazy busy but still took the time to provide me with excellent customer service. On top of that, they did a free fix even in the midst of 23 other customers to serve and I got some epic kindness and affirmation. Brian was right, I do deserve those tots. Yesterday,July 26,I received a routine tire rotation and balance.I have received very good sales and service since this store opened.This experience alarmed me.My Subaru Forester tire inflation requires 30psi front and 29psi rear. When I arrived home I checked inflation as I regularly do.I was shocked to find PSIs of 63,53,59,35.I .of course deflated the tires to proper readings. I immediately called the store to report the danger of a blowout had I not discovered such profound negligence.I wondered how many unaware customers may have experienced the same technician who was obviously distracted,poorly trained or ignorant. The store rep acknowledged the danger and said he would immediately talk to service staff.He apologized and said they had hired a couple new employees. You would presume this would not happen at a tire store.I mention my experience because it is important to check tire inflation and obviously after tire service at this store. I got a non-repairable flat early this morning, so I searched for a place to get an affordably priced tire (since I just needed one tire), and wanted to get it installed ASAP! But everywhere I searched, Costco, Walmart, Goodyear, Les Schwab, either didn't have my tire in stock, or they had it in stock but wouldn't be able to install it until two weeks later!yeah that wasn't gonna work, so I kept searching and thank you Jesus I came across Discount Tires! NO LONGER BUYING DISCOUNT TIRES! Today 12/8/22 I had a flat and went to Les Schwab in Camas who aired my tire and offered to repair it right away. Since I had purchased these new just a few months ago at Discount I informed Les Schwabs representative that I would go there as I needed to be in that area. Standard greeting from Discount, until he noticed I had purchased my tires at the Clackamas location and made a comment as to why there vs his location. I thought that was odd but responded to his question. Then he immediately acted as if I was an imposition to him and that they would not be able to get to my tire (screw in middle of tread) until end of day. Could I wait or leave the car? I responded with no and asked too schedule for tomorrow Friday. He stated they were busy all day and would not be able to repair. It was clear to me that 1 he was more interested in selling for possible commission or bonus and 2 he didn't care about service after the sell. Honestly I don't know but that was the impression I received, clearly service after the sell was not important to him. I informed him that Les Schwab had offered to repair it right away and that I would just stop there after my appointments since their schedule did not work with my schedule. It was weird with Discount, kudos to Les Schwab Camas, they fixed the flat within 15 minutes and didn't even charge me. Note: Over the years I have purchased many tires from America/Discount Tire, however something has changed since they have become Discount. Is the sell more important then servicing a good repeat customer? Not in my book! Goodbye Discount and Hello to Les Schwab! I know where I will be buying tires in the future. read more

I am pretty impressed with the level of service I received from James. I originally purchased the tires from another branch but the other branch did not have the tires I needed for my SUV. That was memorial day weekend. Although the discount tire listed the branch as having a set of 4 they didn't have it, but to avail of their memorial day promotion which was very good to pass up, I paid for those tires anyway. We were told that we were scheduled on Tuesday. So Tuesday came and I arrived at the store and was originally being helped by D****n. (I will not post his name in this review but you know who he is). I told this associate that I am here for my 11am appointment and replied by saying "Are you (insert woman's name here)?" I politely said no, and I showed him my receipt and told him that I was told that the tires are gonna be here. He looked at his system and I was scheduled at another store that was 30 minutes away and I was in a bit of a time crunch because I was hoping to get the tires installed by 1pm so I can pick up my wife after work. I really didn't appreciate D****n's tone, and passive aggressive and sarcastic side comments and luckily James saw me and helped me instead. James was able sort all of it out and get me serviced and out there before 1pm. He gave exceptional customer care and service, and was able to turn my negative experience into a very positive one. All he did was apply critical thinking, pickup the phone and come up with a game plan. This positive experience has inspired me to buy my next 2 sets of tires for my other vehicles from this branch. After the service, Mike handed me the keys and oriented me about the new tires I got, the rebates I should mail in and apply online and gave me an overview and their recommended tire rotation interval.
