I finally had to ask for my keys back because I needed to pick up my daughter from school. If the wait was going to be that long, it would have been nice to be told up front instead of being assured it was a quick fix. Les Schwab used to be known for customer service, but this experience was really disappointing.

A couple of weeks ago I took a set of 4 wheels/tires in for balancing. Told them there was some steering wheel shimmying at low speeds, and I thought rebalancing them would fix the issue. $85 and a few hours later I had my wheels back on my car. Lo and behold, the shimmying didn't go away. I then called a friend of mine who owns an independent tire shop in Portland and he said it might be due to tread separation. Asked me to bring them by so he could look at them, so I AGAIN removed the wheels and tires and took them to my friend's shop. Apparently his suspicions were correct. The tires (2017 production date) were indeed starting to separate. They wobbled on the balancer at low speeds, both up and down and sideways. He said I needed new tires, so I asked them to order and mount a set. Reinstalled back on the car and no shimmy! Les Schwab, you not only lost my business for a set of new tires but my trust in you! Your tech should have seen this problem, and brought it to my attention. Instead, you balanced the tires, which were a safety hazard, charged me $85 for it and sent them out the door. What if the tread had separated on the freeway and caused a crash? Fucking irresponsible of you! My friend was right: your quality and business acumen went into the shitter once Les passed away. So much for a trusted local business. From now on I'll take my business to the small independent owners and not recommend you to anyone. I guess this lesson costed me $85...

Jim means well, but I think he gets busy, and can't meet the lead-times he originally states. My daughter wanted the silver OEM wheels on her Chevy Cruze Premier repainted to a gloss black, so we brought them to FWO. The end result is exactly what we wanted, and it was a lot cheaper than trying to find the factory "Redline" wheels. The paint job is high quality, and it looks really nice. The areas for improvement include communication and lead-times. Initially we were given a completion date of 2 business days, and I told them they could take 3 if needed. When I called on the third day, they told me three rims were bent, and they needed to be straightened (for additional cost). I gave the go ahead, but I think they had our wheels confused with another project, because they never added on any other charges. The wheels & car ended up being ready for pick up on the sixth business day. As stated, the paint job is great, but the tires seemed haphazardly filled to random pressure levels, differing by a few PSI from corner to corner (that was an easy fix). They all hold air just fine, though; so no worries there. I would definitely recommend the work that Jim & FWO do, but just allow a little extra time for project completion.

New wheel from dealer was $750.00. Called Jim at Factory Wheel Outlet and he said bring it in we'll fix it if we can, and no charge if it doesn't work. He fit me in on a super busy holiday when 3 of his staff could not make it in due to ice storm. Wheel fixed, fair price, honest dude. Side note: took car in to Les Schwab after fix to get alignment and all wheels checked, told them about FWO and they said, "oh yeah, if Jim fixed it then it is good, he is the expert, we send all of our wheel repairs to him." nuf said.

I had gotten my car completely checked before I went to go the alignment done but he insists that it's because of my suspension. I was also told that he would have to charge me $50-60 more just to check if he did it right?? even so he said that he can't guarantee that my steering wheel is going to be straight. I would not recommend coming here for an alignment if you have a low car or car with suspension.

"Wrong job? Don't lecture me, kid."…read more I came to your shop with one specific issue: my car was pulling to the right, even though the steering wheel itself was straight. I expected professional service and a solution. Instead, I left with an even bigger problem -- now the wheel is crooked, and the car still pulls to the right. I returned to your shop and calmly explained that the problem remained. I told you that now, to keep the car straight, I have to hold the steering wheel slightly to the left, which is uncomfortable and unsafe. Instead of taking responsibility, I was told the job was "done correctly." But when I compared the numbers you set with the manufacturer's specs, the difference was obvious. You insisted the issue was in the suspension and the strut, but even if that were true, no alignment should leave the steering wheel crooked. Originally, the wheel was straight -- after your work, I ended up with two problems instead of one. To make it worse, you told me: "Let's put it on the rack again, and if everything shows green, you'll pay us again for nothing." That's not professionalism -- that's bluffing. I don't need "proof" on a screen. I need results. Instead of correcting the problem and setting the values as close as possible to the manufacturer's golden range, you behaved unpleasantly and arrogantly. My car is over ten years old, and I understand perfection isn't easy, but professionalism means both proper work and respect toward the customer. Sadly, I saw neither. The person who performed the service showed rudeness, disregard, and a complete unwillingness to listen. These qualities are unacceptable for someone entrusted with people's safety on the road. At another shop, they told me: "We can fix this." That proves the problem isn't my car -- the problem is the poor work and the attitude of the one who did it.
