This place is phenomenal. The theme is great, it is new and fresh, for being a 50's diner style with a bar. Ill get to the food in a moment, but the staff, were phenomenal, our server was just the perfect combination of attentiveness as a waitress and humor as a person, and that tickled me greatly. Had the brussel sprouts appetizer. Whoever said brussels were disgusting to you as a child, it must be an adult secret because these were epically good. Side of wings. Unusual for me to see them not tossed in sauce, but they were crispy and fine. I had the french onion soup. Its exactly as you'd imagine and that's exactly what i wanted. Had the hangover burger. Burger with bacon, avocado, hash brown, and sunny side egg. Just extremely well made, concept, cook, and execution. If i had room for dessert id go for the waffle special they had but i couldnt. Great place, been 5+ times by now. The rotating specials are great, got steak and eggs today. Mushrooms and caramelized onions were on point! Got the torpedos too, which were pancakes wrapped around breakfast sausage, deep fried, served with syrup. How could you go wrong? Busier than usual today, so service a bit slow, but usually they are very attentive. Coffee cup stays filled. Kid friendly, crayons available, round corner booths are great. Definitely recommend! Service was slow, was only checked on a few times. I had to flag down the waitress to get a refill. Food came out lukewarm and there was way too much barbecue sauce on the wings. The fries were lukewarm as well. Unless your at the bar, you don't get checked on consistently. I know they were located at the Canton Valley Shops but had to move up the street because they were not getting enough business. The owner of the restaurant is very chatty with the people at the bar. I was really in shock when he stood their and kept talking to the people at the bar and never once went to go and say hi to the people in the back at the tables. When you look at this place from the outside it looks like a 21st century establishment. When you walk in however you are transported to the 70s with all the decor that fit the 70s vibe. We all ordered water with lemon and myself no lemon. They brought out waters served in little mugs of water almost like a Mason jar but with a handle. I will say the only part that was disappointing was the lack of a refill. My daughter ordered mozzarella sticks. And I ordered something called the CaveMan which is a loaded grilled cheese with a juicy burger patty along with caramelized onion and a ton of cheese. Along with that was a tomato bisque which was very tasty but needed some pepper. That sandwich was to DIE for it was so good and when I decided on that I was not sure it would fill me up....however not even thinking about dinner right now. My wife got a spinach salad with a spicy fried shrimp, and it looked like a spicy dressing and lots of very thin sliced fried tortilla strips. Went to this place with a bunch of friends for breakfast, and the food was extraordinary! They were able to accommodate our party of 10 upstairs easily. The server was friendly, helpful and on the ball with the orders. The food was incredible. I got what I call an Irish Benedict because I asked them to substitute the corn beef hash for the ham. Ice cream shakes with booze? Check. Mojitos, margaritas, mixed cocktails, marys, wines, sparklers, sangria, beers, and desserts? Check. Tonight we had a turkey club with fries, a bowl of matzoh ball soup, and pulled pork sliders. The club was $13, but it was monstrous with a ton of turkey and avocado slices. The french fries were really stellar- perfectly cooked and crunchily perfect. My sliders ($8) were a bargain. Three good sized sandwiches on a toasted roll with zippy pulled pork and refreshing cole slaw. Very good. I went for the bowl of matzoh ball soup ($6). The good points? It was a generous portion. It was piping hot. It had a lot of chicken. It had a lot of vegetables. It had 2 pretty good matzoh balls The bad? The broth was a major disappointment. Weak, bland, ecch.... Service was pretty good, fast enough coffee refills. We saw a dozen black T-shirted servers buzzing around. We decided to check out the new location for Dish n Dat. We started with fried dill pickles. 6 pickle spears that came with a tasty sweet spicy red chili ranch sauce. The were $8. For my meal I ordered the Famous Hartford Grinder: fried chicken breast, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, garlic parm on grinder roll. It was Very good. My husband had the Smokehouse burger: burger with pepperjack, onion ring, horseradish sauce. He enjoyed it but it could have used some more sauce. We always enjoy this place. It's a throwback to 1950's style food. A bit heavy but for a treat every once and a while we feel it's ok. I always get breakfast no matter the time of day because they serve breakfast all day. I usually get their french toast. It's the best by me, never soggy, browned just perfect and 3 large pieces of toast. My husband likes the meatloaf, grilled cheese and of course their desserts (very good size portions). I subtracted one star because the food is heavy old-fashioned food your grandma served. Some who like to eat lighter, low-fat meals may not appreciate their food. I was a little skeptical to come here for breakfast because I've been for dinner and it wasn't that great. However I was pleasantly surprised with their menu options and how my meal came out. I got a pancake with chocolate chips and banana inside. It was good, although the edges of mine were a little raw still. Didn't bother me I just ate around it. I also had eggs with home fries and an English muffin. Everything was good. A very average breakfast. Prices weren't horrendous either. I think I paid 7 bucks for my plate of eggs and whatnot. My pancake was only a couple bucks but they did charge me two dollars to add in the chips and banana slices. Our waitress was very nice and friendly as was the other staff members who interacted with us. I like the atmosphere of the places it's like an old fashion diner. My fiancé and I loved the old Dish n' Dat and we're hoping the new location would bring the same great service and food, unfortunately that was not the case. My fiancé ordered the chicken tenders with Korean sweet red chili for $8. 3 tenders came out that were over fried. I ordered the Mac n Rib melt which should have come with aged cheddar, Mac and cheese, BBQ pulled pork in Texas toast. It was basically Mac and cheese on toast. There was no BBQ pulled pork. We also ordered the South of the border Mac and cheese which came out and was just ground beef and Mac and cheese. Again, there was only a small amount of ground beef and didn't have any of the other topics advertised including tortilla chips and pico de Gallo and taco seasoning. We let the server know and she brought out a side of pulled pork for my sandwich but at that time I had already eaten half my sandwich. They also only gave us tortilla strips for the Mac and cheese. This menu is extensive and I'm sure there are great dishes but these two are ones I'd stay away from. Clearly they skimp on the meat. What a wonderful experience we had for lunch today. The owner Dan was so personable and has a great appreciation for his customers. From the minute we pulled in and saw veteran parking we just knew this was a nice place. When we came in and met our waitress Jess we knew this was our new spot. We went last night for Sunday night dinner, and we had the best time! The atmosphere is fun, of course, but the staff were friendly, and there were clearly regulars there as well. My family and I were regular customers at this restaurant, as we enjoyed their food and their desserts. Unfortunately, due to a disrespectful interaction, I had with the owner of the business, Dan, I will never set foot into this restaurant again!! I purchased a family-size carrot cake for the Thanksgiving holiday last year. When I contacted Dan to discuss my concern regarding the smaller size cake that I received for this holiday, in comparison to past years; which I paid less for, he became incensed. Used to go here when they were in the Shoppes after my shifts at SLT. Was meeting a friend who lives in town and decided to go to Dish 'n Dat solely because I'd heard the owner did some really nice things for community members over the holidays. For that they get one star. The fried pickles get the other. The rest of the meal beyond disastrous. I'm not picky, but the Nashville Hot Sliders beyond inedible. Dried out chicken (?) hunks smothered in a cloyingly sweetish bbq sauce then drizzled with a vinegary white (bleu cheese?) sauce? Spicy? No. Slaw? No. Crispy? Nope. I'm honestly not sure what they were going for there. My friend sent back her first order of cheeseburger sliders because her first bite was difficult to swallow they were so dry. Resulting re-order came back raw enough she took them home to recook. The tots and onion rings unseasoned, baked out of the bag. Ore-Ida they were not. $70 bucks later and I won't be back. read more

I received my lobster roll, sans roll and fries, as I requested. My husband ordered an open faced roast beef sandwich that had perhaps not even a quarter cup of gravy on it. His mashed potatoes were barely mashed but, hey, let's give it a try. My mother had a Greek salad with no meat. Hers arrived last and was severely lacking in anything but lettuce and onions. As far as Greek salads go, I probably could have had a better one at McDonalds. There was a smattering of feta, and 4 halved cherry tomatoes and 4 pita spears. Otherwise there was nothing else but a bowl full of lettuce. My mother ate what she could but only a rabbit could appreciate the amount of lettuce this salad included. The server came over after what felt like forever and asked if she could pack up my mothers remaining lettuce. She did not mince words and said no, thank you it was awful. The server replied, ok. Literally. Just ok, not what can I do to fix it, can we make you something else...nothing. my coleslaw was more mayo than slaw and remained uneaten, but my lobster was delicious. She cleared my plate and then asked my husband if he was done. He still had a fork and knife in hand and was actively eating. Strange... but ok. He said no. He was still working on it but requested a refill. The roast beef sandwich was terribly dry after my husband finished his quarter cup of gravy on the first side. He requested more gravy which came eventually, but for a southern who is used to this type of sandwich being more wet than the Joshua Tree state park, he was also unimpressed. His potatoes were lacking in any flavor and unfortunately, flavor is something one needs. The server asked if he wanted it boxed up and he also replied "definitely not". The check came with his refill, which we promptly put our card down to pay. My husband finished his food and drink, and we waited.....and waited......and waited. At this point it didn't seem like she would return so we proceeded to the front counter to pay. The Hostess took the bill and was rather terse when replying "I'll give this to your server". Once the server returned the bill extremely fast now, the hostess asked what was wrong. Unfortunately, the tone was not one either my Mother nor I appreciated. My mother gave her feedback on the salad but it was too late to resolve. There had been at least 20 minutes after she cleared when it could have been take care of, but at this point it was paid. $70 dollar for that poor a quality of food, let alone service was wasteful. Don't make the same mistake. I haven't experienced this poor a service since I tried to eat at a Bob Evan's in Virginia that had 3 times the clientele. At least there, when we got up to leave, the manager gave us coupons. Here it seemed our awful meal was our fault. I used to to love this place when I lived in CT 10 years ago...even enjoying a meal here when visiting almost 5 years ago. We had everything from the trash can appetizer (yes, you read that correct) which was a bunch of apps put in a giant mixing bowl together to burgers to lobster rolls. The burger was pretty tasteless and the lobster rolls were filled with small pieces of meat. The kids each wanted a sundae (chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry) but the waitress brought out 2 chocolates and a strawberry. It wasn't that busy as we came in between lunch and dinner. After a day of driving, getting stuck in traffic, taking back roads through the countryside to escape the traffic and a little more driving, I wound up in Canton and decided to give dish n dat a try. I'm glad I did. As soon as I walk in I was greeted enthusiastically. However, it wasn't an employee who greeted me. Rather it was a guy at the bar. He was in love with the fact that I was wearing a kilt and matching socks. He was so friendly and talkative, I could barely read the menu, which was expansive and could rival the cheesecake factory's menu for sheer volume of the items offered. After the guy stopped talking to me i ordered a burger and a white sangria. The burger arrived shortly later and I could really taste the meat. The flavor was accentuated by horseradish. I had potato salad on the side and it was average. My sangria had too much peach schnapps and too little white wine. After the meal and sangria, I ordered a shot of vodka that had been infused (on site) with pineapple it was refreshing, but if had been infused with rum, it would have been that much better. Very happy with their COVID accommodations! Staff was super friendly and patient to explain their current set up due to COVID restrictions. I realize I've grown accustomed to crappy service due to COVID and although that's understandable, it seems Dish has their ish down pat! Dishes are extremely overpriced for the food and service quality. I ordered a plain American burger with a side of salad greens because it was one of the cheaper items on the menu ($10). The waiter was really eager to take my order (bothering me every two minutes for my order even though it takes far longer to go through the large, extensive, and mind-numbing menu). After placing my order, I had to wait over thirty minutes for my order to arrive, despite being one of the few customers in the restaurant. When the food finally came, I was less than satisfied. The bun was soggy, the toppings were messily piled on top of the burger to make the sandwich larger, and the patty was greasy and falling apart. Overall, a pain to eat and not worth the struggle and price. The side of salad greens was just a handful of lettuce. Nothing more, nothing less. Due to the greasy and salty nature of my meal, I was incredibly dehydrated and was hoping for a refill on my small mason jar of water. Many waiters constantly came by to try and take away my plate or push me to order dessert and pay, but no one ever refilled my water...even after asking several times! Overall, TERRIBLE service and a DISAPPOINTING meal. All appetizers are at least $10 and sandwiches can be up to $18, which is absolutely ridiculous for the quantity and quality of the food. So sad to say it was awful. We waited for 5 minutes as they took their time clearing off a table. The bathroom floor was soaking wet that two members of our party almost fell. Our waitress was clearly having a rough day and the owner was continuously stopping her and yelling at her throughout our time there. She did not give us menus when we sat down and never came back to offer or ask. The beer was flat and the espresso martini was undrinkable. We sent them all back. The owner walked around the entire time, looking at us and walking around but we never once took the time to talk to anyone besides yelling at his staff who was clearly stretched too thin.
