The food was amazing! Sometimes it can be hard to find a spot that me and my boyfriend both enjoy the same, but they had such classic and diverse menu that we both left satisfied. The sandwich was just the right amount of stuffed and the Nutella French toast was devoured in minutes. The ambience of the restaurant was bright and cozy, filled with lots of plants and seating.

The food here is top of class. I do a little dance after every bite. I've gone back for the shrimp tacos pictured more than once. They have great drinks as well, but I've only tried the spicy strawberry margarita! You walk up to order and then can continue to order once you sit down. The service is simple and easy.

THE BIG: Farm-to-table fast casual eatery mainly focused on American fare in the Mueller area of Austin. Bright and airy interior. Street parking available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I was meeting up with a few former co-workers and decided on Dish Society. I didn't have any expectations going in but it turned out surprisingly good. For food, I got the hot chicken sandwich with fries. After ordering up front, you are given a number and have to claim a table. Food came out pretty quick. The hot chicken was cooked nicely and the fries were a nice potato to fry ratio. Of course you have to add honey mustard to make the fries go on another level. THE FINAL BAMBOO: The price for a single hot chicken sandwich entree was around $19. I'd come again to try more of their dishes.

Was very surprised at how delicious my Ranch Style Eggs were. It comes with chopped tx brisket, two sunny-side eggs, a corn tostada that stays every crispy up until the last bite. white cheddar, black beans, tomatillo salsa, pico de gallo, cotija, & cilantro. The meat was so flavorful, and my eggs were perfect with a runny yolk. You order at the counter, and the food comes pretty quick. Clean casual place.

Pro tip they do offer valadated parking at the Mcbee garage . Super cool ! This is a really modern healthly little chain cafe . Near an overly park I would say a great first date spot !!! Menu has alittle bit of every thing coffee ,matcha and mimosas . Sweet and savory very open and airy lots of seating a great place to work and chill or enjoy a rainy day with a new book. The chicken ancho bowl has a mole pepper base with a light crisp tortilla strips fresh pico del gallo. Staff are nice and friendly !

My girlfriends and I have been meeting here once a month for dinner for the last five months. The employees are kind and friendly. The food is consistently good. Much better than most counter service restaurants. The shrimp and grits and salmon poke bowls are our favorites.

We went here for lunch. The place looks really nice. Somewhat confusingly it looks more like a bar than a restaurant when you step in, with all the bottles against the back wall. They have plenty of choices for brunch; I went with the "house omelette" which was all fresh ingredients and perfectly made. The skillet potatoes were surprisingly tasty.

The Texas pecan pesto was an absolute delight. Pasta made from scratch really caught my eye on the menu, and it delivered exactly what I was hoping for. The pasta had a roughness that signaled it was handmade--I loved the texture and chew. The sauce was aromatic and creamy, with just enough nutty texture; the grape tomatoes added a lovely sweetness, and the spinach was a great touch. I also had a bite of my friend's salmon poke bowl, and it was delicious as well. Will certainly return for more--if not these two dishes again. Highly recommend for a chill meal.

We had brunch on a Sunday around 11:15 AM. Love that there was no line and you go up and order from the cashier (he was new so we had to be patient). They give you a number and bring your food when it is ready. The selection is really good, something for everyone including gluten-free pancakes, which four out of five from our table did not like. I do recommend ordering the House Beignet Bites! Wow those are so addicting. Really good. My brother-in-law had the Smoked Salmon Avocado Toast, looked heavenly. Overdid the arugula for his palette otherwise he said it was good. I had the Avocado Toast without the cheese. It was perfect portion for me. My son had the Brisket & Eggs, this was very good. My daughter had the Breakfast Skillet, that was also very good. My friend ordered the Traditional Breakfast, she liked it. Perfect portion size too. Overall we enjoyed our experience, maybe it was the Bloody Mary and a carafe of Mimosas or maybe not, either way we will be returning. I gave a four star because on this visit we were fighting a pesky fly that just would not go away, people leaving the doors ajar doesn't help. They have inside and outside seating.

Popped in for a late lunch. No one was really there. Received my order quickly. Nice combo and wasn't expecting the caramelized onions to be red onions, but a nice sweetness to the sandwich. My only complaint is that the onions started to make the bread a little soggy. The housemade chips were good and seasoned but slightly overcooked. Great spot for healthy fast casual.

You know it's funny, I thought I'd been here before. I really did until I walked in and instantly realized this was my first time coming here. I love these farm to table joints because the food is always very fresh. I got the farmers choice and they just happen to have brisket so obviously I had to try it. The thing that really caught my attention though was the mac & cheese. I don't know what kind of pasta it was, but it was very different, in a good way, it was almost a disc with ridges on it, but the cheese was soooo creamy.

Food is very good. Seasonal vegetables were great. Added steak to the kale salad, but it was only teensy, tiny little pieces of steak for $9.95. Literally it was probably 2 bites of fatty, steak. Kinda ridiculous. Overall, it's expensive, but good quality. Beignets were good. read more

Read all the positive reviews and the menu looked good. Was looking forward to eating lunch there. I am a vegetarian and wanted the kale cesar salad without chicken. The order taker said it would be the same price with or without chicken, which doesn't make sense, after asking what else I could get she said if I wanted salmon or steak it would be more!! I asked to sub for avocado, she said she would have to charge me, I asked her to ask the manager, she went in the back and said it was ok. I live in the neighborhood and have been looking forward to going here. It seemed like a good brunch alternative to Hank's on Berkman. HOWEVER. I waited in line to order for 20 minutes at lunchtime on Tuesday. Just want to note that not everyone can stand for that amount of time easily. Only one person was taking orders and the line was out the door. Me to the manager after ordering my food, while it was being rung up: "Hi! I just wanted to let you know that it would be so nice if y'all had table service! I was surprised to wait in line to order for 20 minutes at a restaurant this nice cuz not everyone can stand for that long. I'm not sure I'll be back again because of this so I just wanted to communicate that, it would be cool if y'all took orders at the tables or had an option! Thanks!" Manager: "That's fine. You don't have to come back." Me: .... What? Manager: "That's fine. You're welcome to leave. That's our business model. There's plenty of other places for you to eat." *Turns around and walks off.* Me: .... Me: *Looks at checkout girl. She looks embarrassed. Under my breath as he walks off: * "Wow, you're an asshole." Manager: *Turns around with anger* "What did you call me? Don't use foul language in here. If you don't like our restaurant you can go somewhere else, there's plenty of restaurants for you to eat at. We don't need your business here if you don't like it here." *Walks off again.* Me: "Great, thanks. Amazing." Waitress: "I'm sorry.: Me: "Not your fault." FIN What makes people who are this reactive take a job where they talk to customers? I would have left but I'd already paid and waited in line for half of the lunch hour. Was the food good? Partially. I had avocado toast, sauteed greens and a pancake. The avocado toast was fresh and delicious! Greens, perfectly dressed. 5 stars. Would order again. The side of sauteed greens was so salty they were inedible. 1 star. The buttermilk pancake was tasteless; the syrup is that cheap thick high fructose corn syrup I remember from childhood, tastes artificial. With maple syrup the pancake would be okay. Menu said it came with fresh berries but that was one half a strawberry cut into four thin slices. 2 stars. Update: I'm finishing my meal. I hadn't eaten the greens. The girl picking up my plate said if they weren't good they would refund it from my ticket. I said okay, thanks. The server came back with a receipt and said the manager refunded both my avocado toast and greens. Me: "Oh, wow. Was it because he was rude earlier?" Her: "I don't know! Great new option in the Meuller area! We went for brunch on a Sunday. The atmosphere was bright and fun with friendly and attentive staff. It was chilly outside so indoor seating was a bit of a challenge, but on nice days the outside option will make finding room for a party of 3 easier. The pancakes were HUGE and come with fruit standard! We will definitely be trying this spot again...maybe for lunch or dinner. read more

This place is false advertising their soft opening specials! Their staff is telling all the customers their soft opening special is 50% off until Wednesday but when I called to order today, they changed to 25% off without any apologies. When I spoke to the manager, she defended her staff and blamed the owner. I'm not the only person who was deceived about their false advertising. my neighbor had the same complaint that she only found out when she got the bill about the reduced discount. I've been anxiously awaiting Dish Society's opening since I've frequented the Houston location before and enjoyed it. I was fortunate enough to attend their soft opening, and let me tell you it did not disappoint! My family of five enjoyed ALL the dishes that we ordered and that says a lot since I have 3 picky eaters. Food has so much potential but they over salt things way too much. I do love salt but it's so bad I can't eat things sometimes. It's not all the time so it has to be one person just going nuts with the salt. I've experienced this mostly the crispy chicken and greens. I wish they taste tested batches cause it's very obvious! Just care a little more. Besides that, it's good food for a good price. Also the salmon can be pretty dry sometimes. read more

Such clean, healthy food. We love it and eat here once a week. Wonderfully fresh and tasty vegan food but still plenty of healthy meat options for the children. Low sugar, flavorful drink options. And the prices are very reasonable if not actually cheap. All their unique salads can be cut in half and served as a side salad. Large menu options. Something for everyone. Amazing place in the heart of Mueller. I had the spicy chicken sandwich and loved it. The lavender Blush cocktail was a little sweet but still tasty. They also treated our dog like a queen. We had a wonderful date night at Dish Society! I love the location in Houston, and am glad that it is the same in Austin! We came during the soft opening and the staff was extremely professional and well knowledgeable about the menu. The food was incredible and the drinks were amazing! Amazing new restaurant! We went during the soft opening and everything was absolutely delicious! Our two year old loved the chicken strips and they came on a kid friendly yellow plate. I might have snuck a few bites of her tenders too because they were some of the best I've ever had. We also ordered the pretzels and queso, pesto pasta, and the chicken ancho bowl. Everything that came to our table looked amazing and was so so good! The staff was very kind and attentive during our meal! I highly recommend Dish Society to everyone. Popped in for a quick meal with friends: what a find! Delicious food, wonderful service! We had the pesto chicken sandwich, the lettuce cups and the beignets-- all so good. The restaurant is also so pleasant: open & airy. The only thing I didn't like was that they had Maine Root soda. Guess I'm old-fashioned, but I'm all about Diet Coke! Even the way you order is strange to me, if I want another drink I have to get up and go to the bar to order another drink on a new tab. Just strange to me. The all-day diner turns out a seasonally changing menu with healthful modern twists on traditional favorites. Established in 2014.

Driven to make locally sourced meals accessible to families and young professionals, founder Aaron Lyons created the fast-casual, farm-to-table concept Dish Society. His team opened its first restaurant in 2014 and has since expanded to multiple locations across Greater Houston and Austin. The first Dish Society in Austin opened in December 2023 in the Mueller neighborhood. The all-day café offers a modern, seasonal menu of Southern classics, locally roasted coffee, cold-pressed juices, Texas craft beer, approachable wines, house cocktails, and mocktails. Committed to sourcing fresh ingredients, the restaurants source more than 75 percent of ingredients from Texas producers. Counter service throughout the day ensures an efficient guest experience. He went away and then came back asking my husband if he wanted some whiskey cocktail, and we corrected him that we had asked for a particular beer. No big deal. We then ordered the deviled eggs and shishito peppers, and the red fish and short ribs for entree. A lady brought us the drinks, and the deviled eggs. Our server swung by and then disappeared. We thought the shishito peppers were on their way. We waited for what seemed like a really long time and still no shishito peppers. We also noticed that each table had a carafe of water except ours. We were just given water once, and then our server never bothered to fill the water up. Anyway, we kept waiting since there was no sign of the server. At this point, we felt he might have forgotten the second appetizer and we just did not want it, but he was nowhere to be found. A man (not our server) brought out our entrees. We then told him that we had been waiting for our second appetizer and would just want to cancel it. We asked if we could get the biscuits instead. He brought out the biscuits within a few minutes. Now this is where it really annoyed us. Had our server just come over and said he had forgotten our shishito peppers, it would have been okay. Human. What he tried was act smart and dropped by saying the shishito peppers would be out to which we said that we didn't want an appetizer after an entree and had cancelled it. I almost felt like he was treating us as if he thought we don't really dine out or whatever and he could just make fools of us. This really didn't sit right with me. We asked him for water and he filled it up left. The food was above average. The short ribs were good but my red fish had been hammered! The biscuits were good. The deviled eggs were good as well. Anyway, we finished our meal, and got the check, paid, and were waiting to finish our drinks. The receipt was on our table. Also, note, it was not a particularly busy day with several empty tables. What our server did next was absolutely unacceptable. I think he wanted to see if we had tipped him after his awful service. We did, but not 20% as we always do because of the soddy job he did, not to mention his attitude. We paid 15% which I think was more than what he deserved now. Out of nowhere, and mind you,after being absent for long periods before, he just came by, grabbed the paid up bill from our table to our shock, while we were still sitting and talking, looked at the bill, turned towards us, and muttered something angry under his breath and walked away. I have never seen this level of entitlement and bad behavior. We left right away. We had been really looking forward to this meal but I would not want to go back. The food was good, but not great, and I would not want to put up with such obnoxious behavior as a paying customer.

I recently visited the new Dish Society on S. Lamar for lunch and overall had a very good experience. Ordering at the counter was easy and the staff was welcoming. We found a table without any trouble and the food arrived fairly quickly. The dishes we tried were fresh, nicely plated, and flavorful, although I would have appreciated a bit more seasoning to really make the flavors pop. Portion sizes were generous and satisfying. The dining area felt modern and clean, and the covered patio is definitely a nice bonus. Parking was manageable with street options nearby. While everything was enjoyable, there were small moments where service felt a little rushed, but nothing that took away too much from the overall experience. I'll definitely be back, though maybe hoping for just a little more attention to detail next time. read more

The beignets were absolutely delicious and the anglaise it came with really sealed the deal. The pesto chicken sandwich was also delicious, very tasty. The avocado toast however was kinda bland. I think a light drizzle of honey would have really elevated the taste. I drizzled a bit of the anglaise the beignets came with and it made it taste a lot better. The atmosphere was very nice and everyone was so pleasant. It was also really clean inside. Overall good experience. Edit: The last few times I've been here, the beignets have not been great. Dish Society in East Austin is a fantastic brunch spot! I ordered the Hot Chicken Sandwich, my wife had the Super Salad, and our son enjoyed the Nutella French Toast Bites. Everything was perfect--the chicken was juicy and flavorful, the salad was fresh and delicious, and the French toast bites were a hit with our son.
