The Churrasco Platter is phenomenal! The Achiote Potato Cheese Patties that come with it are delicious. And the fresh avocado and salad accompaniments are the perfect bite to offset the rich and flavorful beef skirt steak and the mild sauce. Great value for flavorful food and portioned perfectly for breakfast or brunch. The Caffeinated Greek was very STRONG in the alcohol content...some may enjoy that, I did not. I enjoy sitting on the patio outside and watching the cars go by. Easy going place.
Harry's is a classic Houston institution that evolved from your typical Greek diner into a modern diner with dishes from all over the world. When you walk in, you are expecting counter service with the cafeteria style layout but this is a full service restaurant with a bar. It always seems crowded for a late breakfast or lunch during the week and don't even try to come here during the weekend. The parking lot is also too small for the crowds that you may be better walking here if you live in the neighbourhood. I had the baklava french toast today which was disappointing. The thing that makes it a baklava is the crushed walnuts and honey between the layers of toast. You don't really taste the honey and the dish could use more butter to mimic a classic baklava. The dish was also topped with two scoops of greek ice cream, which tasted like frozen yogurt... frozen greek yogurt to be exact. It gave a slight sourness to the dish which was unsettling.
I was invited by a friend to try Harry's Restaurant for breakfast so we could catch up on life, and this was my first time visiting. Overall, it was a really nice experience. I ordered the build your own omelette with tomatoes, cheese, peppers, grilled chicken, and spinach. It came out hot, well seasoned, and cooked just right. It was very satisfying, especially the grilled chicken which was very tender and juicy. On the side, I had a biscuit and cheesy grits. The biscuit was soft and absolutely moist, and the grits were creamy with a good amount of cheese. My friend ordered the spicy fried chicken plate with a biscuit and also tried the sausage gravy bowl. I had a taste, and everything was flavorful but the chicken really wasn't that spicy at all. You can taste the spice, but it really didn't give a kick. The orange juice was absolutely fresh, which I really appreciated, it definitely stood out. Add ice thank me later that's just me. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the raspberry jelly, but that's just personal preference since I'm more of a grape jelly person. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the ambiance stood out immediately. They have a beautiful patio if you're into outdoor vibes, definitely a great spot for conversations , relax, and enjoy a slow morning with good company. Overall, I'd definitely come back. For a first timer, this is a great spot for a laid back meal with good food and even better vibes.
I loved everything about this place except the wait you can't make reservations in advance! Our wait was almost an hour but well worth it!! Once seated, it didn't take for our waiter to come over and take our drink order. That frozen passion was delicious and just enough to start the day! After, we ordered our breakfast. That pancake omelet was chefs kissssss it was STUFFED!! The service was great, very attentive waiter! The restaurant was very clean as well! 1000/10
We made online reservations before going there and it was more than an hour before we got our table. The place was packed and had lines waiting outside the restaurant. It's a beautifully decorated place with bright colors that make you feel good. We ordered their Larissa plate, eggs Benedict, regular French toast, baklava French toast and some drinks. Everything tasted great but the best was their Baklava French Toast! What a great twist to the regular French toast. The server was good and very knowledgeable about the menu. When we complimented him about it, he said they have to go through a test to prepare themselves, which we've not heard of before. The owner of the restaurant was a really nice old man who was walking around the place, greeting all his customers and having a smile throughout. I would definitely be back here again!
If you have a group, get on the wait list before you arrive and ensure your party is complete once you check in. If two or more at the table drink mimosas, I recommend ordering the full carafe. You cannot go wrong with any of the food options and if you want to try different options, the portions are huge so sharing is caring. Harry's Restaurant is know for their bread which is thick and fluffy. Personally, I think the best way to eat the bread is have them slice it in half and toasted. As for the Spicy, Honey glazed chicken, go for an extra bit of crispiness, it will not disappoint. It gets a bit chilly on the inside so bring a light jacket or sweater just in case.

I've been here twice. The first time was a while back where I had the chicken and waffles. It was solid but a little pricey at $18. This time I came back with a group of people and had the baklava french toast, $15. Also tasty, but just didn't live up to my expectations. Overall the service is good, the food is solid, but the prices are a little high for my tastes. Props for keeping my water glass refilled, and all the other people I was with seem pretty happy with their food and service. Depending when you come, this place can get pretty crowded. I recommend weekday mornings if you don't want to have to wait. Harry's is also a great place if you want to run into someone In the world of Houston politics at breakfast.
Stopped by Harry's with a group of friends, and we made sure to join the waitlist before arriving, so we didn't have to wait long to be seated. I ordered the Chicken & Waffles, and they were very good -- the chicken was well-seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the waffle was nice and fluffy. I also tried my friend's chilaquiles divorciados, and those were delicious too. The sauce had amazing flavor. Overall, I can definitely see why this place has such long wait times -- it's absolutely worth the hype.

Service was quick and efficient. The tables are nicely spaced but was so hard to have a conversation. Adequate free parking adjacent to the restaurant.
don't let harry's fool you! it's always busy.. but why?!? after seeing the parking lot constantly packed and it always looking busy, i finally decided to see what the "hype" was all about. and it was definitely just hype. the server was really really nice and that is the only reason i gave 2 stars-- i wish i could remember her name! the hostess, an older woman.. was more of a warden and less of a hostess. she was not friendly at all. as she walked back and forth in the dining room, i did not see her smile once (not that i needed to see everyone bearing teeth in joy...but lighten up!). i also felt like she was overseeing what drinks were brought to our table... i only ordered two espresso martinis, and there was still a third of my first one in my glass when the hostess ran over to my table to remove my first glass because a second glass was dropped off.. and why would a hostess be overseeing what is going on at the tables? that is well beyond the scope of a hostess. i assume this "protocol comes" from ppl i guess taking dipping containers or something.. there are signs on the door spotlighting that behavior as "stealing". in addition to a warden-esque hostess, the food was boring AF. the flavors were flat and if a restaurant can't get a hollandaise sauce correct.. why would one ever return?! now, please take this review with a grain of salt. this may have been a horrible day for harry's, and they very well maybe, the best place in midtown for brunch... but i will not be returning. dining out is far too expensive to patronize businesses that do not make me feel accommodated or welcome. if you decide to visit harry's, i hope that you have a more pleasant and welcoming experience! bonne appétit
Enjoyed brunch with the girls! Service waa quick but you do have to wait for your entrie party just fyi. We had margaritas and mimosas. For entrees I got the spicy fried chicken with a biscuit and hash browns. The waiter suggested I got my biscuit grilled and it was PERFECT. Others at the table were the perfect combo with French toast and home fries and the spicy fried chicken and kale. Everyone enjoyed their food. Our waiter was the best! We will all be back again to try some more highly recommended dishes.

A recommendation from a friend who travel to the area last year. I was the first to arrive, and I told the hostess how many people were in our party. They were currently parking, so she just asked us to wait for them to come in. And once they did, we got seated at a nice and spacious round table. Pancake omelette?! I had a tough time deciding what I wanted to have for breakfast, but this ended up being the winner. The pancake was made in the style of an omelette, and the inside literally had all of the fixings I asked for, including the egg itself. It was filling too! Like really filling! While it was delicious overall, my only criticism is that the pancake itself was quite dry... And that might have been intentional because of it simulating an egg omelette, but my taste buds didn't love it. As I said, all of the flavors inside the pancake more than made up for it. I cannot wait to return and have something else awesome on the menu. Everyone's food looked so good. read more
I've been here a couple of times and it's always busy but I think that speaks for the quality of the experience. The staff always does a great job and everything that I've tried from food to drinks were awesome. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for something quiet and intimate but if you want great service and food, this is a great option. read more

This was a pleasant surprise for brunch. My friend suggested we try something new in Houston and I wasn't disappointed with the staff, ambiance, location, and menu options. My build your option was delicious, and all of the ingredients were fresh and made to order. It was cooked perfectly and had grits, fresh fruit, and wheat toast. A definite winner. My friend has the grilled chicken sandwich with a fried egg on a croissant. Couldn't be mad at all at the experience, as I can't wait to try more options on the menu. Mid. I live in Mexico and honestly food is better over there, fresher ingredients, vibes etc. Sysco + US foods provides lowest grade food for every single restaurant in America, and guess what? It all tastes bad. Maybe my standards are raised because Mexico buys from local farms (what the norm should be), but here ? I expected to get cherry tomato's for my eggs... bro. It was pico chopped tomato's... literally so gross. Then they accidentally put another customers plate in front of me and I almost walked out cuz I thought it was mine...it looked so disgusting. Skirt steak? DONT GET IT. Belongs on boots in Cavenders. The server was nice but not too fast with service. Anyways, do what you will but America and corporations need to do better. read more

Harry didn't meet Sally, it met Cabo. We had a wonderful experience at Harry's. The ambiance, lighting, decor, textures, and bar area were all exceptionally well done. For our meal, we had the American Filet, crab cakes, filet tacos, and seasonal vegetables. The bread with rosemary to start was heavenly, and the dipping sauce for the steak was light and delicious on our veggies. For dessert, we considered the chocolate lava, carrot cake, Harry's cake, and homemade ice cream, which all looked decadent. We were then pleasantly surprised with well-presented cotton candy at the end of the meal. Luis and Danny were the dynamic duo team. Their service was 5 star! I have been coming to Cabo for over 30 years. It is a delight to see so many new places popping up. I do miss much of old Cabo but there is no going back so trying fun, new places brings a since of freshness to a very familiar place. read more

I love going there whenever I get to be in the city and around midtown area. Can't go wrong with their chilaquiles a bit spicy but nothing thats exaggerated. Their yucca was good just wish the sauce was in a ramekin or a nice dollop.Waiters/waitresses are always nice and friendly. Glad they asked us this time if we wanted the fan on cus I e gone during summer times and uff! Other than that it's a pretty chill place. Need to come back in a month for mimosas read more

Came here for brunch with my girls and it was so good! On a Sunday afternoon there was about a 45 minute wait and I see why. I only ordered the French toast along with some mimosas (strong) and I loved them both! My friends ordered the spicy chicken (delicious and juicy) along with biscuits (so good) and pancakes (fluffy and sweet). Even when looking at the food from the other tables almost everything on the menu looked good and they have so much range! From the breakfast options to the lunch to the Mexican options and the drinks - there's something for everybody here! read more
I absolutely love Harry's. Every single thing I have ever eaten from Harry's has been delicious. It is one of my favorite brunch places to go. There is a parking lot but on the weekends it gets very busy and you might have to park on the street across from the building. There is also a waitlist that you can join before getting there. I highly recommend this on weekends. The French 75 church service is one of my favorite things, but you can always get a bottle of Prosecco or champagne for mimosas. My go to is probably the chicken and waffles. The chicken has a little sweetness to it, but also a little spice and is fried to perfection. read more

My partner and I visited Harry's for breakfast, and as a gluten-free duo, we were excited by how many GF options the menu seemed to offer -- pancakes, waffles, and several items that are normally tough to find gluten free. That part was a pleasant surprise. But here's where things got confusing: the menu's gluten-free labeling is... odd. The only meat marked GF was Canadian bacon, yet after asking, we learned there were actually several safe options. If you're celiac or sensitive, definitely double-check everything, because the labeling is not intuitive. A few other quirks to know before you go: If you're a Diet Coke girlie like me, prepare yourself -- they don't have a soda fountain, only cans. If you want ketchup, you'll get a tiny fast-food-style packet. They also don't carry any hot sauce (tragic). None of these are deal-breakers, but for a bill that ended up being $85 for two entrées and two pancakes, the details matter. The dress code is... a choice. No midriff showing, no sagging pants -- so maybe skip stopping in after yoga or Pilates. It feels strangely strict for a dinner type spot in 2025. On the positive side, the interior is fresh and nicely done, and the bathrooms were clean. The food itself was fine -- not bad, just not memorable for the price. Service was mixed. Our waitress started out friendly, but her vibe changed quickly once I asked a few basic questions (like declining the canned Diet Coke, asking about sugar-free syrup, and inquiring about hot sauce). It felt like I became a bother the moment I needed anything beyond the default. Overall, Harry's wasn't a terrible experience, but between the confusing GF menu, the strict dress code, and the underwhelming food for the cost, we won't be back. read more

Service: our waiter was personable, knowledgeable and attentive. Great service. . Food: the perfect combo, 2 eggs, chicken sausage, pancakes and a little bowl of grits with some great coffee! gobbled down, after finishing a 5K race. So good! Hit the spot! My hubby had the spicy chicken breakfast with grits and sausage, washed down with cold OJ. Ambiance: "pleasant". nice hum of small groups enjoying breakfast on a Saturday morning. read more

Harry's is a downtown breakfast staple! Super bright and charming atmosphere. They are so consistent with their food... and it is so delicious! In case you don't know, prepare for about an hour wait when you go. With that being said, no one cares because the food does not disappoint! It's seriously worth the wait. The breakfast tacos are so delicious. Some of the best I've ever had! Pancakes are the best ever... great waffles, and the biscuits are perfection. I could go on and on! Also our server was so sweet and accommodating! They serve regular food, but I can't get past the breakfast. It always looks incredible tho. Truly one of my favorite Houston restaurants! read more

Been wanting to try this new spot! My bestie said letsss gooo. It was super chill and quiet. I think everyone slept in because it was cold out. I immediately ordered coffee. So I got the brown sugar latte with oatmilk. The waitresses were super friendly and gave awesome service and suggestions. We even made acquaintances with the three people sitting next to us. New favorite breakfast spot unlocked! Harry's in Houston might just be that girl when it comes to breakfast. First off FREE parking, y'all. In Houston? That's basically a love letter. Plus, tons of street parking too if you're feeling spicy. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and today was one of those rare perfect Houston mornings, so I posted up outside like I had no worries. Now let's talk about my waitress, Mac easily the sweetest waitress I've encountered in this city. She knew that menu like the back of her hand and had the patience of a saint because, for whatever reason, I absolutely could not remember how I like my eggs. Brain said, Im off duty today. After some deep soul searching, I remembered I like my eggs fried medium. Crisis resolved! I ordered the classic breakfast with grits, bacon, hash browns, a medium-fried egg, and Mac's recommendation of a piña colada to go with it because balance. Plot twist: no alcohol before 10AM on Sundays. It was 9:18AM tragedy! But Mac put the order in early so my drink could pull up fashionably late at 10am Honestly, it worked out because it gave me time to crush my plate like it was the last supper. Everything came out hot, fresh, and delicious; the kind of breakfast that feels like your Granny woke up at 5AM just to show you she loves you. awww! Lol Now, they have this raspberry jelly situation... I gave it a try, but my loyalty lies with grape and strawberry. Raspberry just isn't my ministry. The real MVP of the day was that piña colada. Whew. So good it had me considering another but Im a lightweight in the drinking ring. Heads up: it comes sprinkled with coconut shavings and since I'm allergic, next time I'll just kindly ask for it naked. I survived today by scooping them off like the weirdo I proudly am! I will never stop coming here. I've been coming here for years and it is a Houston staple. When you come to houston you have to come here for brunch, the waitlist is amazing, you can go online and add yourself. Once you get here you barely have to wait. Harry's has so many options of the menu for everyone. From their home made salsa to the waitress's who have been there for years on end. I come here at least once a month and def recommend anyone to come here! So much food and even better flavor. Pricing is well paired. Street and parking lot. Dress down or dress up, get a coffee or a mimosa. It's all here. read more
As one of Midtown's most recognizable businesses, I can immediately see the appeal that Harry's brings to the table: tasty food, spacious and modern digs, fast and friendly service, and an eclectic menu to boot. I've had a lot of experiences with Greek diners in the past, but none that looked or tasted like this. (#1) They're busy and often. The weekends can be subject to hour-long waits and their week day lunches are just as hectic. Despite the fact they're among the few places in the neighborhood that have their own dedicated lot, parking still can be tough during their busiest service hours. There are no reservations. The brunch menu is a mix of Americana with a lot of Latin options. Their spicy fried chicken sandwich was a surprise hit, as were the gyro feta fries. I enjoyed my churrasco platter with skirt steak and appreciated how wonderfully crispy my bacon and hashbrowns were. This one of the only places in Houston that serve Ecuadorian style potato pancakes (#2) and I'm all for it. The only letdown was the baklava french toast, which was nice from a presentation standpoint but a bit disappointing flavor wise. My waitress Vivian is outstanding. What time does the crowd usually start coming on a Sunday?
I would recommend being there by 9:00am. After that you will probably have to wait for a table.
Is it closed? I went today and there was construction going on but it says it's open.
It reopens tomorrow, October 2nd. Can't Wait. Will be there.
