    Prosciutto biscuit
    Jens J.

Biscuits always sound good to me, ergo, I recently paid a visit to District Biscuit. I came around 1pm on a weekday. There's only five parking slots, but I snagged one of them. [[HIGHLIGHT]]District Biscuit was busy with almost all the tables taken.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You can order one of the many biscuits or biscuit sandwiches from the cashier or use the kiosk next to the cash register. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior ambience is modern but sparse.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the Prosciutto Biscuit. My order was filled quickly. Service was fine. First off, the biscuit itself was top-notch, both for flavor and texture. Though for the price (currently $9.39), it was a bit svelte. I was disappointed that there was just one slice of prosciutto. The idea of fig jam on the biscuit sounded tempting, but in reality there was too much jam and the jam was a bit sour. Still, overall, this was a good biscuit sandwich. As I said, biscuits always sound appealing to me, so I will likely be back.

The bottom line: great local, layered, buttery biscuits at a sometimes-worth-the-splurge steepish price. I have bought these biscuits about a dozen times, including for work and special events and the crispy carnitas or breakfast sandwiches I make with them are always a hit! The service is fast and friendly, and the buttery goodness is so fun to peel into flakes to eat. I've had their sandwiches once or twice, but prefer my home variations with their biscuits. I will definitely be back as long as they are around.

I want to start by saying that I am not a biscuit fan, but I am 100% a District Biscuit fan! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place was so cute and relaxing to be in. The large windows brought in beautiful natural light, and I happened to be here the week after a major cold front, so it was snowy outside. It felt incredibly cozy and lovely to have breakfast here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The cashier was very kind and recommended the classic biscuit with honey butter. I also ordered a kids' French toast. The classic biscuit is absolutely the way to go. I don't generally like biscuits because they tend to be dry, but District Biscuits are not that at all. The outside was nicely flaky, while the inside was warm and moist. It tasted amazing even without the honey butter, but the honey butter took it to another level. I honestly could have eaten one more. The French toast biscuit was good but a bit too oily for my liking. I believe the entire thing is deep-fried. It still had good flavor, just slightly greasy. I also had an Americano, which was solid. I will definitely be paying a visit here whenever I get a chance to be in Alexandria or DC again.

UberEats review Where has this place been all my life? I decided to order it through UberEats and I'm truly glad that I did. I ordered the ultimate breakfast which consisted of scrambled eggs (you can have it prepared your way) 2 sausages (I selected chicken) 2 hash brown, and a biscuit. Lean in when I say this, everything was DELICIOUS!!!! Culinary perfection! The eggs were scrambled soft and had a buttery flavor. The sausage were beyond tasty, the hash brown were scrumptious, and the biscuit...the biscuit was to die for! I cannot wait to order again or even visit this place in person. If this was the standard they set on UberEats, it's worth my support again.

This place has a killer breakfast egg biscuit sandwich. It comes with Hollandaise sauce which I would order on the side. This sounds crazy but the biscuits have a perfect texture with the egg and cheese. The sandwich is not dry at all. Staff can become very busy but seem very dedicated. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is fine, but the parking is very very limited and it is easy to miss the restaurant entirely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The location was a little confusing to get too if you're not familiar with the area, I almost missed it with all the other stores around. Upon arrival, the staff was helpful and gave me recommendations on what to order. I ended up getting the chicken biscuit with hot honey, side of honey butter and side of gravy. Everything was such a let down. The chicken wasn't a true flaky fried chicken, the hot honey tasted like Asian sweet chili sauce and the gravy lacked meat and flavor. I wouldn't recommend. Go to Preservation Biscuits Company instead, they're amazing!

Decided to meet a friend here, this place has been on my list. I got the chicken and waffle option, it was quite good but all the food seems quite dense. Filled me up for the rest of the day! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place has some seating but I could see how it could get crowded real fast.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The food comes out in to-go boxes, even if you are dining in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I wish they had a compost option since they serve their meals in compostable boxes. I may be back here again since I live in the area but I can't go too often, this stuff is dangerously good!

I finally had a chance to try breakfast from here via Grubhub and I hope to go in person sometime soon! I ordered the ultimate breakfast with a side of gravy. They packaged everything so well. Everything was great, including their name sake, the biscuit. My only regret and disappointment was the lack of utensils with my order despite marking it off and not ordering an extra biscuit. I highly recommend trying them out if you haven't already!

Beginning with ordering through getting our food I'm not sure one employee spoke to us. Ordering was done via a touch screen; however, employees were on the other side of the counter. When our order was ready my name was called out and I picked up the food. Again not a word spoken to me. I saw three to four employees throughout our visit and not one single word spoken to us. Regarding the food: great, the Biscuit was sturdy enough to handle the chicken and honey; however, soft enough to make you want another. Tomato Soup was outstanding as well as the Grille Cheese Biscuit. Maybe it was just a bad morning for the staff. It is unfortunate that I remember the employees more than the food, because the food should bring you back.

I am proud to say I've had the biscuits of my life here at this establishment . The biscuits are fluffy, moist and buttery and you can really tell that it's made freshly in house. I can't believe how delicious the biscuit waffles & biscuit French toast was! Like it's such a genius creation for sure. The chicken biscuit was oozing with honey and with perfectly fried chicken adorned on a hot buttery biscuit! I absolutely can't wait to come again. Not to mention, the service was FAST and the coffee---robust, flavorful and delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small quaint space, I'd recommend parking on the street if you're afraid of a small parking lot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely coming again---and again.

Was trying to past time before heading to the mall with my daughter. I told her to google places for breakfast and let's choose somewhere we've never been. District Biscuit was on the list and I absolutely LOVE biscuits! So why not... ... so the restaurant is one that I actually seen before but never really noticed as I've been to the international market and Popeyes across the street many times. But it looks like a little farm house which I thought was cute. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We walked in, the inside was nice and clean, and the staff spoke immediately.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There was a kiosk in the front that my daughter and I chose to use instead of the cashier since it was our first time and didn't want to hold up any potential line. She went with the Ultimate breakfast which includes a biscuit and two hash browns. She went with scrambled eggs/cheese and chicken sausage as her additions. I wanted to try the waffle biscuits but saw that it was almost as much as the ultimate breakfast with nothing included. I didn't like that so I went with the ultimate breakfast as well with scrambled eggs without cheese and fried chicken. I also ordered some biscuit beignets with cinnamon sugar. The biscuits were flaky on the outside and soft on the inside. They were decent. My daughter and I both didn't care for our meals and felt it was a waste of money. The beignets were probably the best thing we ordered. I would go back for the biscuits and beignets but I will not be ordering any food in the future. We also were disappointed the biscuits didn't come with anything. No honey butter or jelly and if we wanted it, it would be extra. We also went across the street to McDonald's for drinks as a can sprite was $2.49 and a small sweet tea was $3.50. That was excessive to me.

Totally awesome from start to finish. Location and parking, no issues. Wifey and I got influenced by a FAM to check this place out. Low and behold, we had business in Alexandria and she said let's do it! I knew it was 5 stars by the greetings we received entering the establishment. We both ordered the Ultimate and here's the trick on that breakfast, you actually get a scrumptious biscuit and sausage patty for later and Wifey wanted me to reiterate how good the chicken sausage patty is. We opted for the hashbrowns, however our source said the grits are excellent as well! If you are ever in the Del Ray area, check this place out, highly recommended!

If you're in search of one of the best, if not the best, biscuits in this area then look no further than the District Biscuit Company. Their biscuits are perfectly seasoned, flaky, buttery and moist. What more can you ask for? I ordered their ultimate breakfast, which comes with eggs any style, 2 pork sausage patties, 2 homemade hash browns and a biscuit. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. If I'd added another biscuit, this meal could have easily fed 2 people. I regret not ordering a dozen plain biscuits for the road, but I'll be back soon. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is quaint, clean, and friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

He was in the mood for Lahmacun (sounds like Lahamajoun) super thin, crispy pizza topped with a mixture of minced meat with peppers, tomato, herbs, and spices. More fine, light, and delicate than the typical American thin pizza. The service, drinks, and food were beyond stellar in Narman. We felt like the only customers there and were waited on by many staff. The highlight of the day there was their pizza and their beverage presentation and flavors. We came on a weekday night and were the only people there in the end. My husband was impressed at how upscale the restaurant was and it was the finest Turkish restaurant he ever visited. He said it was similar to the hotel dining place he lived at in Turkey. This was our first restaurant in downtown Alexandria and one of our best experiences in Alexandria. The Lahmacun was the finest Turkish pizza my husband ever had. He ordered three of them! Each pizza was served on a large wood board with extra toppings on the side like lemon wedges, cilantro, and onions. They are so fine and thin that you can roll them up to eat. We had to put some of the last pizza aside for take out. I ate the takeout piece and was very impressed how delicious it was after being in the fridge overnight & re-heated. I loved the flavors of the Lahmacun and I don't even care for pizza that much. It is my most preferred pizza in my life ever next to the Crazy Ex in The Thirsty Goat in Clarksville, Tennessee. I ordered a Turkish dish with a rich and ancient history, Hunkar Begendi, or "Sultan's Delight." It dates back several centuries, and it was prepared for the sultans and high-ranking officials, and was served during special occasions and celebrations. The Hunkar Begendi had lamb and velvet soft eggplant with spices. I ordered it with a side of rice. It was very delicious and unique. Yet the Lahmacun despite its simplicity stole the show and cost 1/3 of the price of the Hunkar Begendi. For my beverage, I ordered The Elma. It has a stunning presentation in a smoke filled glass box. The Elma is a beverage with Bourbon, Peach liquor, vanilla maple, Apple butter,Lemon juice, and Apple cider. You have to watch the videos of how it is presented at the table. At the end of our dinner, they played happy birthday and surprised my husband with an ice cream and pumpkin dessert with a candle. So wonderful & heartfelt. It was a fascinating and flavorful dish. The pumpkin tasted like sweet potato & was different. This is a must see place for Turkish cuisine and the finest restaurant service. Prices are low to fair for such high quality food and service. Five Stars.

My wife and I arrived around 1:20 p.m. on a Thursday. The lunch crowd was still going strong, which only reinforced that we had picked a popular spot. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill almost immediately. When we walked in, there was no hostess to be found. After waiting about four minutes, she finally appeared and offered us a choice between a small table in the corner or one by the bar. Given how busy the restaurant was, we took the table by the bar. About seven minutes later, someone finally came by to offer us water and explained that our server was busy, but she would help us in the meantime. No problem. We ordered the Avo Goddess Salad and asked that it be split so we could share it. A few minutes later, our server arrived, introduced herself, and we let her know we had already ordered the salad and were ready to place our lunch orders. She was very helpful in guiding my wife toward the Old Bay Shrimp Burger. I was excited to order the Shrimp and Grits until I learned it contained Andouille sausage and, according to our server, couldn't be prepared without it. Since the restaurant highlights that everything is made from scratch, that surprised me. I ended up ordering the Ahi Tuna Salad instead. So far, so good. Then came the frustration. We spent the next 20 minutes slowly picking at our salad, growing increasingly hungry and confused. You know something is wrong when guests who were seated after you begin receiving their meals before you. Finally, at 2:10 p.m., our food arrived: my Ahi Tuna Salad and a Pulled Lamb Sandwich for my wife. Except my wife had ordered the Shrimp Burger. When we pointed out the mistake to what was now our third server, she quickly assured us it would be corrected. A few minutes later, our original server returned and took full responsibility. She explained that the lamb and shrimp items are next to each other in the POS system and she accidentally selected the wrong item. She assured us the Shrimp Burger would be out in two minutes and suggested we enjoy the fries that came with the lamb sandwich while we waited. Unfortunately, another ten minutes passed before the burger finally arrived. Here's where things became truly disappointing: the top bun was still cold--almost frozen. My wife ended up removing it entirely and eating the sandwich with just the bottom bun. At best, the Shrimp Burger was decent, but certainly not worth the wait and frustration. As for my Ahi Tuna Salad, it felt like something I could easily make at home, especially considering the $25 price tag. I'm also not entirely convinced the tuna was particularly fresh. I can't bring myself to give Matt and Tony's one star because the atmosphere is genuinely cool and inviting. So I settled on two stars--mostly for how I felt before the experience unraveled. And listen, I get it. Mistakes happen. We're all human. But as someone who eats out frequently, here's one piece of advice: when a restaurant makes a significant mistake with a customer's order, consider taking that item off the bill. Sometimes that gesture is the only reason a guest decides to come back.
