I was slightly hesitant in trying out Eisenhower Deli due to its mixed reviews, but, after finding out that another breakfast/deli place was permanently closed, we decided to give this place a try. Besides breakfast plates, they also have lunch specials, sandwiches, and house specialties. They have daily/weekly 'specials' taped by the grill, so be sure to check those out. We ordered: +the Corned Beef Platter - opting for the addition of toast and eggs +the Steak & Cheese - just with grilled onions and mayo +and, The NY Avenue - with grilled pastrami, corned beef, and Swiss, topped with cole slaw, and Russian dressing, on rye bread The corned beef tasted a little off, as it was mostly potatoes, and it seemed like an off-brand of the breakfast favorite. The platter just didn't seem worth getting. The Steak & Cheese was pretty good, as the bread was fluffy and the steak and cheese were generous. The NY Avenue sandwich was less than mediocre; wasn't a fan of the use of 'deli meat slices' of the corned beef and pastrami. Staff were friendly, and they call you up when your order is ready. This out-of-the-way deli caters blue-collar crowd, but seems a tad quieter than some other options. Food is very reasonably priced. I almost always get my food to-go, so no inside photos. The inside isn't fancy but apparently it was sufficient for some teleworkers to hang out and get their work done. read more

I ordered 2 items today. The egg sandwich was dry and they didn't cook the eggs as requested. The chicken breast club sandwich went straight in the garbage!! I specifically asked for no mayo, and I was given the wrong bread with tons of mayo on the sandwich, leaving it incredibly soggy. They also put the chicken on too hot, so the lettuce was completely wilted and oddly only on certain parts of the sandwich. The fries were also undercooked and inedible. Obviously, whoever put this order together, had no pride in their work of what they are serving. I'll never order from here again. read more

The deli is open at 5 am daily for breakfast and stays open until early afternoon. They have tons of food options that are delicious and very affordable. Every morning I stopped in and grabbed breakfast sandwich's for my staff. They get the food out quickly so there's hardly any wait no matter how busy they are. Waiting for my car to be repaired across the street, I stopped in for breakfast. I had the Egg Breakfast which comes with 2 eggs, meat of your choice, home fries, and toast. For health reasons I don't do breakfast meat, so they happily let me add a third egg. It was excellent. Home fries had onions. I loved it all. Wash it down with Coffee. Was in neighborhood and decided to give it a shot. Was greeted by all three of the ladies working, very friendly. Decided on lunch special, Ham/Swiss with Coleslaw & Russian Dressing, came out to $6 bucks and change, for some reason expected fries, chips, maybe a pickle??? It was the lunch special, but it did not. So cost overall was bit more than expected. Asked for water, Cashier pointed to cups by soda machine, but said she would have to give me water from the kitchen sink, signs displayed showed 50 Cents for ice??? Skipped the H2O. Took sandwich to go, beautiful day outside, I will say the sandwich was delicious, loved the combination of flavors and enjoyed it immensely. Great deli. The crowd here is mostly blue collar workers such as UPS , Metro , Plumbers , Etc. Which is why you won't see a crowd sitting down. We just get something to eat while we are on the road. That being said don't expect fancy French toast or Pancakes. Any breakfast sandwich on a croissant is great. Make sure to ask for potatoes fried hard. read more

This Deli is a quick walk around the corner from my job. It's perfect for when I don't bring lunch & want to eat something healthy and delicious. Came here with a friend on a recommendation from him that this place has a must have grilled chicken sandwich. We pulled up and I was really surprised he found the place. The exterior doesn't have much except for an "open" sign and the name of the deli etched above the door. Also you couldn't see inside the place from the outside as the windows were completed tinted. We arrived a little after 2:30pm, so the place was empty when we walked in. There was a regular menu board on the wall behind the counter and a smaller one in front of the counter with some of the daily specials. The prices were fairly reasonable. We decided to stick to the plan and ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. The cook removes the marinated chicken from the refrigerator and places it on a flat top grill. Then she pairs it with any of the fresh ingredients you would like at no additional charge. I got my sandwich with sautéed onions, peppers and mushrooms with provolone cheese. After cooking for about 5-7 minutes, the chicken and veggies were removed and placed on a toasted potato bun with lettuce and tomatoes. I was handed my sandwich, wrapped in foil and ready to eat. The sandwich was delicious and way more than I expected. The chicken was tender, juicy, and seasoned perfectly. The sautéed veggies with provolone paired really well with the chicken and the soft bun. I got a bottle of hot sauce to add an extra bit of flavor to some bites and it was really a treat. Some italian type sub, that had what I could call mystery meat involved and the New York sub which had very dry, overcooked meats. Eisenhower Deli is my go to place for breakfast because its so close to my office, at least once or twice a week. The food is decently priced and taste is good. The one problem I have with this place the head lady cook,I feel like my business is not wanted at this place and to be honest I probably will be taking it somewhere else. A place like this should be welcoming, not unwelcoming to paying customers. This morning I was in there having breakfast with a colleague and was completely ignored and she asked my colleague what I was going to have instead of asking me, and I was standing right in front of her. I don't understand why this lady has a problem with me, but a place that deals with so many people in a day and can me feel so uncomfortable doesn't deserve my business.
