Still as good as ever. Open one in Gaithersburg or Germantown please!! Meat is perfectly seasoned for both chicken and lamb. Rice is cooked perfectly, solid portions. Relatively quick service (people in front of me kept getting like 4 platters). Chill atmosphere.

Can't believe it's been this long. I remember DCG from when it was in Georgetown and there was always a line. I found myself in Tysons Corner after the theater and couldn't wait to have some of this. It's truly been too long. The food was good. I was at the front of the line. There's places to sit and eat. The service was efficient. Would return!

As a self‑confessed Halal devotee -- with plenty of visits to Halal Bros and Shah's under my belt -- I couldn't pass up a chance to try a new contender in Tyson's Corner. Sunday lunch, and the place was already buzzing -- always a good omen. I went for the platter combo: Halal chicken with a kick, gyro beef, rice, a fresh garden salad, and a cucumber‑tomato mix. The white sauce surprised me with a hint of dill -- a small twist that set it apart from the usual suspects. Verdict: If you find yourself in the retail jungle of Tyson's Corner, this is a pit stop worth making.

Hands down my favorite chicken and Gyro place. So delicious and a great price. I will definitely be coming back.

Fantastic spot. I wish the chicken over rice back in SoCal would be just like this one. Rice was great, chicken and gyro were fantastic and the sauces were amazing. Everything hit the spot. Drooling as I type this out honestly.

I'm obsessed with DCG! I always get the platter with a combo of gyro and spicy chicken and the best part is, they don't hold back on the sauce!! Lately they have also been adding fun desserts to the menu too like different varieties of Dubai Chocolate. I haven't tried them yet, but I'm always tempted lol! Lastly, the employees are super friendly and even if there's a long line, they get through it super fast!

Absolutely, 100% approve of this place. It's the best halal cart style food my fiancée and I have tried. The guy in front of us in line the first time said he drives from Georgetown to Tysons corner just to get DCG so that's how we knew it must be good. The options are simple and they do them extremely well. You can get a pita wrap or a bowl, I prefer the bowl. You can get it with salad or cucumber/tomato mix. The meat options are chicken or gyro, but you can also get a mix of the two. They have white sauce, spicy red sauce, green sauce and bbq sauce. I personally love the white, green and red mixed together. It's also really fairly priced. $12 for a bowl and I usually pay the extra $3 to get extra meat. The line can appear pretty long but it usually moves pretty quick. It's a very small store but they do have some indoor seating in case you'd like to eat there. We always take it to go.

SOOO GOOOOD! I honestly thought people were gassing this place up for no reason. It's absolutely delicious!!! It's just a random little spot, not a lot of seats, but they do what they need. The line gets pretty long but it moves super quick! I got the combination gyros and chicken, rice, cucumber with spicy sauce and white sauce. The gyros was better than the chicken to me. Anyways 20/10 imma be back!

Wednesday 12/11/24 I first came across this spot on instagram or yelp and immediately added it to my list. Today I was in Tyson's corner so I decided to make a visit. I tried making a pick up order online and over the phone but that wasn't an option as this place is mainly made for in person ordering. I ordered the combo platter $12, chicken gyro $10, and got extra sides of their white sauce & bbq sauce. The service was pretty quick as i ordered my food and got it in around 3 min. The food is okay but it is very convenient and reliable to have that's open until midnight and has quick service. The combo platter was alright but I prefer the chicken over the lamb. The chicken gyro was quite average and underwhelming. It definitely could've been better if they packed it more with the toppings but especially the chicken (Need more bang for your buck). I was surprised to see they had bbq sauce which was alright but the white sauce threw me off as it wasn't bad or good but more so mid. Overall, the convenience of the hours and quick service is a good reason to stop by but the taste of the food wasn't quite on par with other halal spots I've had in the past. It's an alright spot but I personally wouldn't see myself coming back unless it was LATE.

First it was a little challenging to find just as everything in this area. The menu is simple and to the point. I ordered two platters. The chicken is spicy but flavorful and tender. The gyro was average so that is why the lower rating. The tzatziki sauce was spot on and improved the gyro tremendously. The place isn't the most cleanest which was in much need of a facelift. Service was ok and took our order and kept plugging away for the next customers.

District Chicken & Gyro is a staple experience for when you're craving some deliciously prepared halal food with ample portion sizes. Every bite is exactly what the soul needs, and it's ready to go within a few minutes of stepping through the door. The staff are wonderful, they're quick, and they're friendly. The restaurant itself is cute and has a few places to sit in or outdoors if you and the weather are up for it. I go here after long travel days to find comfort in a simple known meal, and I intend to keep doing so for years to come.

Really impressed by this place. Great pricing for so much food. I got the combo of both gyro and chicken. Both were great options. The red spice is actually spicy so when she doesn't give you a lot there's a reason for it.

I really wanted this place to be good. My son & I are trying a lot of halal places and one of his friends loved DCG. It's right next to The Vitamin Shoppe on the corner of Chain Bridge & Rt 7. As we walked in, the dining area was a mess as were the carpeting. We notice the menu board was very small and they offered a small fare of Platters & wraps. No fountain sodas. Just canned and bottled beverages in the fridge. The employee there was not enthusiastic to be there nor serve us. We both ordered the gryo platter rice and tomato cucumber salad. My son added the chicken. We got white sauce on top and green (chimichurri) & red (red pepper & vinegar) on the side. Also ordered 2 pitas (don't bother, not fresh) & 2 cans of soda. Not cheap. Since dining area was messy and the air humid with the music up loud, we took our food to go. The gyro meat was flavorful and big chunks. The tomato & cucumber salad was refreshing. The chicken (I tried my son's) was kinda mealy and mushy. Again, I really wanted to like this place but the negative vibes from the location & employee kinda ruined the total experience and outweighed the food. The gyro, rice, tomato/cucumber salad with white sauce was good but would have been better and fresher at lunch time or dinner time. We came at 4pm which was probably the wrong time. I gave this a 2 but should be 2.5. The food was above avg but everything else, I wanted to forget.

The food is laden with oil. Lamb and chicken in containers appear to be just sitting there. Not recommended at all.

They brought out complimentary little cakes with candles, super cute. We did the a la carte entree option, I ordered lamb potato hash which was delish. Deff would come back! Pro tip: If you're using Waze, it may not take you right to the restaurant entrance! I ended up driving right past it and looped around just to be able to find it.

The ambiance felt luxurious and elevated, and there was even complimentary valet parking right outside the restaurant. To start, our server brought a piece of pita with a small plate filled with feta cheese, chimichurri (?), and an herb-seasoned butter. I loved the soft texture of the pita, and my favorite was the feta cheese. HUMMUS - 11 +14 for braised lamb shoulder Another friend recommended the lamb hummus to me, and it was delicious but very heavy. The pickled onions really helped cut the fattiness of the dip, and the lamb was very tender. PISTACHIO SOUP - 16 The soup was super thick, so it was very filling. Overall, pretty savory and delicious, just incredibly dense. My friend and I agreed that we should have just gotten one bowl of soup to share instead of each getting one because we were pretty full at this point. LAMB CHOPS - 58 Sadly, this one was a bit of a miss. I don't think four lamb chops were worth the price of $58. The lamb chops, while flavorful, were really chewy and tough to eat. However, the rice (chelow rice with tahdig) that came with it was phenomenal. When our server placed the bowl down, we could smell the warm, buttery smell instantly. I could literally just eat the rice on its own because it was seasoned on its own. SAFFRON & ROSE WATER ICE CREAM - 16 This came with two scoops of ice cream and a cookie in the middle. The cold dessert was a refreshing way to end a heavy dinner on a hot summer day. While it wasn't incredibly sweet, we thought it was sweeter than most ice creams. The saffron and pistachio flavors were very prominent. Delicious, and we were very pleased with our dessert selection. I'd like to revisit Joon eventually because I think I would have much preferred their chicken harissa and their kabob selections over their lamb chops. I saw other tables order platters of kabobs and those looked phenomenal. Joon is also on inKind, so we were able to pay with the app and save on our meal.

I found this place at the base of a mixed use development. It had garage parking nearby. My chickpeas were spicy as ordered, and came with two nicely puffed breads, and an array of pickled onions with a fried chili pepper. It was a proper rendition of the dish. Someone else ordered the same thing and asked for extra salt to dump on the chickpeas, which just baffled me. The flavor was ample. I also ordered a chai, and while they call it a cutting chai (which I understand to mean cut in half in size), it was a decent amount and a nuanced mix of spices. The owner was a little odd and was making calls to various tables and being kind of pushy such that it made one little girl uncomfortable to the point where her party complained about it, which was acknowledged by staff. I would advise them to put the customer's well-being first, but neither I nor the offended parties would seem to have any compunctions about coming back for the food.

This establishment seems to be Egyptian owned, as the walls claim that Egyptians created bread, cupcakes and falafel. The service was fine, though the tables could have been cleaner. I appreciate that they allow you to substitute some of the rice portion for lettuce/spring mix although the spring mix was wet. They also offered both spicy and regular options for rice and chicken. I got spicy rice with spicy chicken, and for my toppings I got Mediterranean salad, hummus, and tzaziki. I didn't realize you could also get white sauce, green sauce, etc, so I probably wouldn't get tzaziki and get olives or something else next time. The chicken and rice combo was a bit overly spicy for me and upset my stomach slightly. I'd probably get regular for both the next time. I also got tiramisu which they recommended over all the other "cupcakes" which they claim (via the wall) is Egyptian. The tiramisu was surprisingly good. There was soft music that seems Arabic-speaking. They have fountain drinks as well as bottled beverages. They also include a service charge - it was like $0.42 for me.
