I am not really sure what DCG puts in their chicken that no other gyro/chicken over rice place I does. It makes me feel things that my first love did not. DCG is my top place for chicken over rice and there are quietly a few in the DMV. However, DCG has so much flavor in their chicken and their rice is also extra fluffy. In order to avoid some calories I have skipped white sauce this time around and I went HARD on the red+green sauce. Safe to say the next day in the loo wasn't pleasant but I would do it again. Service is top notch and the ambiance of this place reminds me of school life. 4.4/5 must try!
Still as good as ever. Open one in Gaithersburg or Germantown please!! Meat is perfectly seasoned for both chicken and lamb. Rice is cooked perfectly, solid portions. Relatively quick service (people in front of me kept getting like 4 platters). Chill atmosphere.

Sunday lunch, and the place was already buzzing -- always a good omen. I went for the platter combo: Halal chicken with a kick, gyro beef, rice, a fresh garden salad, and a cucumber‑tomato mix. The white sauce surprised me with a hint of dill -- a small twist that set it apart from the usual suspects. Verdict: If you find yourself in the retail jungle of Tyson's Corner, this is a pit stop worth making.

It's truly been too long. The food was good. I was at the front of the line. There's places to sit and eat. The service was efficient. Would return!

I'm obsessed with DCG! I always get the platter with a combo of gyro and spicy chicken and the best part is, they don't hold back on the sauce!! Lately they have also been adding fun desserts to the menu too like different varieties of Dubai Chocolate. I haven't tried them yet, but I'm always tempted lol! Lastly, the employees are super friendly and even if there's a long line, they get through it super fast!

The guy in front of us in line the first time said he drives from Georgetown to Tysons corner just to get DCG so that's how we knew it must be good. The options are simple and they do them extremely well. You can get a pita wrap or a bowl, I prefer the bowl. You can get it with salad or cucumber/tomato mix. The meat options are chicken or gyro, but you can also get a mix of the two. They have white sauce, spicy red sauce, green sauce and bbq sauce. I personally love the white, green and red mixed together. It's also really fairly priced. $12 for a bowl and I usually pay the extra $3 to get extra meat. The line can appear pretty long but it usually moves pretty quick. It's a very small store but they do have some indoor seating in case you'd like to eat there. We always take it to go.

The line gets pretty long but it moves super quick! I got the combination gyros and chicken, rice, cucumber with spicy sauce and white sauce. The gyros was better than the chicken to me. Anyways 20/10 imma be back!
Wednesday 12/11/24 I first came across this spot on instagram or yelp and immediately added it to my list. Today I was in Tyson's corner so I decided to make a visit. I tried making a pick up order online and over the phone but that wasn't an option as this place is mainly made for in person ordering. I ordered the combo platter $12, chicken gyro $10, and got extra sides of their white sauce & bbq sauce. The service was pretty quick as i ordered my food and got it in around 3 min. The food is okay but it is very convenient and reliable to have that's open until midnight and has quick service. The combo platter was alright but I prefer the chicken over the lamb. The chicken gyro was quite average and underwhelming. It definitely could've been better if they packed it more with the toppings but especially the chicken (Need more bang for your buck). I was surprised to see they had bbq sauce which was alright but the white sauce threw me off as it wasn't bad or good but more so mid. Overall, the convenience of the hours and quick service is a good reason to stop by but the taste of the food wasn't quite on par with other halal spots I've had in the past. It's an alright spot but I personally wouldn't see myself coming back unless it was LATE.

The gyro was average so that is why the lower rating. The tzatziki sauce was spot on and improved the gyro tremendously. The place isn't the most cleanest which was in much need of a facelift. Service was ok and took our order and kept plugging away for the next customers.
District Chicken & Gyro is a staple experience for when you're craving some deliciously prepared halal food with ample portion sizes. Every bite is exactly what the soul needs, and it's ready to go within a few minutes of stepping through the door. The staff are wonderful, they're quick, and they're friendly. The restaurant itself is cute and has a few places to sit in or outdoors if you and the weather are up for it. I go here after long travel days to find comfort in a simple known meal, and I intend to keep doing so for years to come.

I've driven past this place plenty of times and always see it jam-packed, so between the crowds and the reviews, I kept telling myself I needed to try it. I finally stopped by on July 25, 2026, while I was in the area. The line was long, and I waited about 5-10 minutes before ordering. At the time, I took that as a good sign. The place is small and a little dingy "allegedly", but of course these are the best food spots! I got home, took my first bite, and immediately smirked. I took another bite and realized the smirk was confusion because I could not understand the reviews or the crowds I always see waiting to order. The food severely lacked flavor; literally the only thing I could taste was the sauces. Yikes. I live about 45 minutes away, but even if I were already in the area, I do not think I would stop in for another try. For me, the hype, the line, and the food just did not add up. read more

This place is probably the better options for chicken and rice in the NOVA area. Came in for a Sunday lunch and there was a line but it went by fast! Service was pretty efficient. I got the chicken platter with white sauce and hot sauce. The chicken was savory and juicy!!! The veggies on the side added a nice refreshing flavor to it as well. I was kinda nervous for the hot sauce, but it isn't that spicy compared to Halal Guys. Would definitely come back and I wish they have more locations in the area! read more
I really wanted this place to be good. My son & I are trying a lot of halal places and one of his friends loved DCG. It's right next to The Vitamin Shoppe on the corner of Chain Bridge & Rt 7. As we walked in, the dining area was a mess as were the carpeting. We notice the menu board was very small and they offered a small fare of Platters & wraps. No fountain sodas. Just canned and bottled beverages in the fridge. The employee there was not enthusiastic to be there nor serve us. We both ordered the gryo platter rice and tomato cucumber salad. My son added the chicken. We got white sauce on top and green (chimichurri) & red (red pepper & vinegar) on the side. Also ordered 2 pitas (don't bother, not fresh) & 2 cans of soda. Not cheap. Since dining area was messy and the air humid with the music up loud, we took our food to go. The gyro meat was flavorful and big chunks. The tomato & cucumber salad was refreshing. The chicken (I tried my son's) was kinda mealy and mushy. Again, I really wanted to like this place but the negative vibes from the location & employee kinda ruined the total experience and outweighed the food. The gyro, rice, tomato/cucumber salad with white sauce was good but would have been better and fresher at lunch time or dinner time. We came at 4pm which was probably the wrong time. I gave this a 2 but should be 2.5. The food was above avg but everything else, I wanted to forget. read more

It's right off the highway and perfect for a quick lunch stop or a late-night bite since it stays open till 2 AM. The menu is straightforward; you choose between chicken, gyro, or a mix of both, served in a generous bowl with cucumber salad and rice. The portions are so generous that I always end up with enough for two meals. The food itself is consistently fresh and well-prepared. The sauces are also great and the spicy sauce is actually spicy. The atmosphere is very casual and they have a few tables inside and outside, nothing fancy but you don't go here looking for anything fancy. DCG! Peeps have been telling me they love this fairly new halal joint. My nephew can't get enough. We're big fans of Halal Guys in NYC and with the influx of halal restaurants I keep hearing this is the best in the dmv. It's a little off the beaten path as you have to go behind the 7/11 off Old Gallows Rd. And if you are looking for ambiance, this isn't it...but if you want a quick bite that's inexpensive you'll get it here. The standard platter is $12 and we always go with the combo - chicken and gyro with the must have white sauce and spicy sauce. There is a patio outside with a few run down tables so you can eat all fresco if you like. Bottom line - solid halal food. Chicken is flavorful, sauces are tasty...but I must say I still love the original Halal Guys in NYC. You can't get that here so this is a good alternative. One note...I like getting salad and rice but this is the first halal joint that I've come across with cilantro in the salad. I hate cilantro with a passion so it would have been good to have a warning or note on the menu for cilantro haters to beware. read more
$12 for a platter that fills you up, for one person it can be split into 1.5/2 meals depending on how hungry you are. I grew up in this area so I've seen prices rise unfortunately, but I'm happy to see and finally visit / support a local spot like this that has good portions for a reasonable price. I will say for the quality and amount of food, DCG is a good quick eats spot. I came here today (Friday) after work around 5:30pm, and there was no line. The service is quick, friendly, and courteous! It honestly made the experience that much better. Shout out to the male employee who was working the food line and cashier today, he was very nice and provided excellent service! I didn't get his name, but he was awesome. I came back to ask for some extra white sauce, and they are very generous here. He gave me some containers to-go. I definitely will enjoy. The white sauce is delicious btw! The red sauce is good too, it's not too spicy compared to other gyro / chicken platter spots. My meal was a combo half gyro (beef + lamb) and chicken platter. All meats were seasoned well and tasty. We picked this up last night after a movie at Tyson and it was super packed in there. DCG definitely has quality ingredients and it's nice to have cucumbers and tomatoes instead of just lettuce for the salad.topping. We got the chicken (great seasoning) and rice with some of the red and white sauce, with extra white sauce for me on the side since it can get a bit spicy. Flavors mixed together are bomb, and it's super filling. Tastes great the next day too as leftovers. I think they also have specials this month as well. It's self service which goes by quick unless there's a long line and it's a pretty small restaurant so you might not find a table to sit at. There's also bar stools to sit on the side. There's not much decor or ambience but it's all about the food. There's also a random jukebox looking thing which seemed out of place but amused me anyway. read more

DCG was so good and so worth it for the price!! I have only heard good things about it from food reviewers/food IG accounts I follow, and I'm glad I got to try it this past Wednesday for dinner. The interior is super casual. There was a small line to order the food, fast-casual style and you pay for it before eating. There's also a fridge of basic drinks (water, pop, etc.) to go with your meal. There's not a whole lot of options here, but that's what makes it good. You can go with a platter (12.00) or a wrap (10.00), and you can't go wrong with either. I chose the platter with rice and salad as my base. For protein, you have the option of chicken, gyro, or falafel. You can also do a combo of chicken and gyro, which is what I ended up getting. I chose the creamy white sauce, which was drizzled generously on top. Pretty simple, right? The platter was delicious. They give you so much food here and super generous with the amount of protein they give you. The protein were all seasoned perfectly and the rice was also seasoned. The creamy white sauce definitely added to it and I liked how all the flavors blended together. My friend and I were so satisfied with the taste of the food here, along with the quantity and quality of ingredients. I'd highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area to give it a try. My friends raved about District Chicken & Gyro for such a long time I thought I was going to give in and review this place sooner. That was 6 months ago and here we are actually writing one. First, I just want to mention it's in that behind 7-11, there is a turn that you can potentially miss so I'd just recommend following the GPS just incase you end up missing it. District Chicken & Gyro is faintly small. It's very casual where most people just order their food to go and leave. You got tables, a small little jukebox machine that you can play songs you want on there ( Yes I did play something ) and then the counter where you order your food chipotle style. I got the combo platter which consisted of rice, cucumbers and salad, seasoned chicken, and gyro meat topped off with sauce of your choice. Fearing that I'd not enjoy my time in the bathroom I opted to get white sauce only for this time. Maybe I'll try the red sauce when I'm braver. The meal ended up being like 14.50 ( meal, soda can, taxes ) and that's a pretty good steal for food in this area specifically. I think you get a lot of value from this dish alone and it's safe to say that no wonder why people rave about it so much. The place can get busy at times, when I sat down there was a line forming outside of the door but it went quick. I think the wait is worth it even if you do come late, I wouldn't complain for good food at such an affordable price. This place closes at late at 4 AM on Fridays and Saturdays. Isn't that amazing? I finally have an option for late night food that's not breakfast food for once. I will definitely back for more. I hope they open up more locations in the DMV too! I think it's giving Halal Guys a run for their money. read more

Flavor, flavor, flavor. DCG lives up to the hype. For $20, you can order one HELL of a chicken, gyro, and cucumber platter. Their cilantro lime sauce is the stuff dreams are made of. Seriously, drown me in it. Dining room and staff are ZERO nonsense. Vibe is all about the food. They understand (and customers appreciate) that we're all just here for the food. Menu is simple, only has a few options, and the hot trays (side by side) are less than 5 feet wide. Great mix of people/demographics tells you that DCG is a solid choice. High quality, mad flavor(s), simple presentation, and a perfect "for what you get" price point. You'll love it. read more

I was having a craving for halal food and kept seeing this place on my social media, so I decided to give it a try. I had tried halal guys before and figured I could try this place out. Though located by the highway, it's easy to access. The shop itself is on the smaller size, but they are highly efficient. When I arrived, the line was very close to the door and within minutes, I was ordering. The ladies have an efficient line of scooping. There aren't many options on the menu, but the most popular seem to be their combo platters or the chicken platters. Each platter comes with rice, salad, protein choice and sauces. I tried the combo platter with gyro meat and chicken with green, red and white sauces. The rice did not have much flavor, the chicken held a decent amount of flavor within the red coloring, and the gyro meat was on the dry side. The portion sizes were quite large, it was quite hefty and could also be split between two meals. There is seating within the space but more so for a quick eat and leave. It fulfilled the craving but did not seem comparable to the one I had in Baltimore a few years back. read more
came after doing an intense cardio workout in dc with a friend. hes been to this place many times and after i saw it grow popularity on tiktok i had to try it and check it out myself my friend recommended to get the platter since it came with gyro and chicken and just do red and white sauce. so i did exactly that. the chicken was so tasty and marinated well - tbh i didnt care much for the gyro. i needed extra red sauce to spice up the dish - but otherwise it was pretty solid halal. rice was well cooked and the veggies tasted pretty fresh. def would come back to try again! read more
I agree with the other yelpers that declared District Chicken & Gyro was better than a very famous competitor located in Tysons mall. I opted for the chicken platter with white sauce and it did not disappoint. The chicken is a bit spicy on its own but the white sauce tones it down (they'll give extra white sauce upon request)! District Chicken & Gyro is a small fast casual restaurant, with a few tables inside if you prefer to eat there. read more

Food was excellent, large portions, ordered the mixed plate with salad, rice, lamb and chicken white and green sauce. My partner ordered the chicken pita and we also got the Dubai chocolate bar for dessert. The service was fast and friendly, ambiance was upbeat fast casual with a jukebox playing EDM club music. Perfect lunch or dinner spot. read more
