I took my 11 month puppy, Chronos, here and it was okay, but not great. They do have live view cameras, which most doggy day cares have, but the feed was really staggered and hard to watch smoothly. They also provided me with a report card and comments. The comments they gave me also felt very generalized, almost like it came off a template. They used "they/them" instead of "he," which made it feel impersonal. The playrooms themselves looked small and honestly a little overcrowded with dogs. Definitely not as much space as I would have expected for them to run around comfortably. Also, heads up if you're driving, there isn't much parking in the front, which made drop-off and pick-up kind of stressful. Overall, not the worst, but I wasn't super impressed and probably wouldn't bring Chronos back here regularly. read more

For two years, District Dogs gambled with the lives of our dogs by staying open at a location with known, repeated flooding issues, and flash floods forecast by the National Weather Service. When water levels rose in and around District Dogs, Zeni was caged on the floor instead of evacuated. She drowned. Horrible establishment! They stack dogs in daycare like they're packs of hot dogs! Myeshia cut my dog on two different occasions while grooming. No one told me and I had to find out myself after my dog scooted, whined, and kept licking the cut areas. I tried to bring the cuts to the attention of management and was told by Kelli that it was from her being spayed. My puppy has never been spayed and is currently on her period right now. This morning, I was shocked and disappointed to learn that my dog and I had been "terminated" as a client of District Dogs. Two months ago, after the tragedy at the NE location, my partner sent an email asking for information on flood evacuation procedures at the Navy Yard location. We never received a response. I take this to mean they do not have a flood evacuation procedure, but feel free to draw your own conclusions... I called this location this morning inquiring as to why our relationship had been terminated. I had a long conversation with the General Manager where I was told our email was "disrespectful" and was lectured on how I "was not the victim here." I have never been treated that way by someone nominally in a customer service field and found it extraordinarily unprofessional. My only guess is that they're facing a number of lawsuits and trying to distance themselves from clients that ask the hard questions. I know we don't have a ton of options in the area, but I highly recommend you place your dog somewhere else, in more professional care. read more

Myeshia always takes the extra time to make sure she knows exactly what I'm looking for from the grooming, she ensures Rosie is happy and comfortable, and has consistently provided excellent services - whether it's a simple bath or a full "makeover" (see photos), I can't speak highly enough about Myeshia. I recently brought my dog Wrigley to District Dogs to do the 12 day board and train program with Michael Hill. While completing the program, Wrigley loved District Dogs. The staff was friendly and I got a report card with photos every day to document her progress! Anytime I checked in on the dog cameras in the day care, I would see Wrigley having fun playing with the staff or her other dog friends. The results from her board and train program with Michael Hill have been amazing. While she just completed the program, she is already like a different dog. Before completing the program she was a highly-reactive dog that would bark at any dog or human that she saw. Now, we are able to walk her without any issues and she seems to actually enjoy being outside. I am so glad that we decided to do the board and train program with Michael and excited to go back to District Dogs in the future. If District Dogs were closer to our house, Wrigley would definitely be going to District Dogs more frequently. read more

I really have nothing bad to say about this place. I recently adopted a covid puppy and signed up for the 6 week puppy basics class which was really really great! This class helped me nail down the basics with my pup allowing us to build from there. I've even done a few 1-1 sessions with Sophia (who's so good with my very vocal very stubborn pup) to help with very specific behavioral concerns. By the end of the session, I was so impressed to see actual improvement with my pup. The customer portal is very simple and easy to navigate. They remember my dog every time I bring him in, which of course makes me feel special. They offer special events for the puppies (Christmas pictures, pup/parent workouts). My brother and his wife lost their dog in the care of District Dogs. The establishment had agreed not to crate their dog, but the firefighters confirmed later that all dogs who drowned in the flash flood on Aug. 14th were caged. Their dog was a good swimmer and would have survived had they kept true to their word. That particular location had flooded in the past and should have either not been operating from that building, or had a solid emergency plan in place. The owner should be held accountable and all locations should be shut down. Please reconsider using their services if you love your animal. Took my golden doodle there for a haircut and the groomer (Michelle) completely shaved my dog. She did say she would give the shortest cut, but last time they also gave the shortest cut, and it wasn't how it was this time. My dog has almost no hair and only skin. Also, i noticed a few cuts on my dog's face and paws which most likely came from cutting it too close to the skin. I will not be coming back as this is the second time that they completely shave my dog when they didn't have to and he has cuts in his body. Definitely not worth it for $180. read more

I sent my newly rescued dog to District Dogs and I couldn't be happier with their services! My dog, Henry, went to their board & train program with Michael Hill and the results were incredible. Henry got lots of good socialization with other pups, learned how to walk on a leash with Michael, and got pampered with their doggy spa treatments. The staff are all so lovely and good with the dogs. They give daily report cards and photos and you can watch your dog playing on the live webcams. Planned to board my dog here while I go on a work trip. Set up my dogs behavior check up and set reservation. I show up and they ask if he is neutered. He's not neutered. They told me he can't stay because he isn't neutered and over a year old. Why was this not told to me when I booked. They already had his records since he was a puppy.
