If you're a fan of the song Cheap Sunglasses by ZZ Topp, read on. Cheap sunglasses these are not. They are quite expensive actually but the experience of buying them was cheapened by the customer service. I walked into this store specifically to inquire about a certain model. Given the price point I would have expected the sales staff to tell me what exactly makes these frames so special. Instead they pointed to a wall without saying a word. There were the sunglasses. Minimal talk and conversation. There was no attempt on their part to actually sell the product they were assigned to sell. Perhaps it's because I didn't look the part of a typical soho fashionista. It's really a shame. I think the design of said glasses is unique and I actually ended up buying them but it's truly sad that this company hired such a motley crew to represent them. The only employee there (of three) was a lady that really knew the product. Maybe it's an off day for them since other reviewers seemed to like the staff but my experience was lacking. read more

Absolutely the worst quality glasses I ever had. In 70 years I never had frame broken even as a kid with cheap frames. The dita frames snapped broke as I was in our morning walk without any reason. Metal frame just split and cannot be fixed. Dita most expensive garbage you can buy. read more

Rounding the corner to Dita, I passed a girl wearing an "100% human" T-shirt and told her she didn't want to be that as it truly means slave / monster. Of course, she looked at me like I was the crazy one. See, you can shout the truth from the rooftop, but very few are willing to hear it anyway. Thank God entering into the magnificently chic layout and ambience clouded the walking dead filling the streets of SoHo. And, I was also greeted by Ariel - an angel with Hebrew lettering on his arm - how cool is that?! I went specifically to try on the Mach 1's and loved them. So super stylish and you've got three tones from which to choose. Also loved the Supa Dupa which he explained to me were a reissue of their most popular seller. A great experience altogether and if you need a prescription put in your new glasses, their pricing is absolutely in line with other stores. I was very pleased with Dita! read more

I hate to admit it (since they're $$$$) but these are hands-down the best frames around. I also have to say that they're worth it. They're well-made, they look well-made, they last, and the customer service is amazing. I stopped by after basically mutilating my frames (I sat on them) and these folks fixed them right up. They also sold me on a new frame that, honestly, makes my eyes look dreamy. I keep trying to buy less expensive frames but ending up at DITA, because I've gotten used to the quality. read more

I wasn't even going to stop in the store, but it was raining and the store looked inviting. Ariel greeted me and I told him I was looking for new prescription frames. I told him what kind of frames I was comfortable wearing, and then he patiently showed me at least ten pairs. He took the time to explain all the details on each pair of frames, and how they were unique. I was going to walk out of the store without buying anything for myself but as he was wrapping up a gift (DITA Sunbird) I purchased for my friend, I saw the special edition section, a glass box with DITA's most unique frames. The DITA Rikton - Type 402 caught my eye and I asked to try them on. His description and explanation of them were great. I tried them on and immediately fell in love. I require a prescription, and they were having a sale on prescription lenses at the time, so that was great. About 2 weeks later, I got them and they are perfect. I own pairs from Jacque Marie Mage, Garrett Leight, and Mykita. DITA blows them all out of the water in material and design. read more

Absolutely FANTASTIC service! I bought a pair of DITA Mach 5's when I was in Amsterdam a couple of months ago. My daughter unfortunately got to them and chewed away at them and destroyed the frames and scratched the lenses. Was in nyc for a week and bought a new pair of prescription glasses here. Staff was extremely helpful in just the right way, letting us look, but making some suggestions. I ultimately bought a beautiful understated metallic frame suggested by staff. They ran it through my insurance with their new app and had my new specs ready before I left. They were are also very skilled at frame adjustment. I have a lot of eyewear and can say their frames and lenses are very high quality. I can see really well with my new progressives. I came into this store today (having never heard of it) looking for a quality, neutral pair of acetate glasses that I could wear everyday. Emmanuelle, the assistant store manager, was SUPER helpful in picking out frames that fit my face shape/style/preferences. I barely even had to look at the selection on the shelves because once I told him what I wanted he started pulling frames for me left and right that would suit my face. Although the frames were a little out of the price range for the kind of glasses I was looking for (there are too many acetate, tortoise glasses out there for me to justify dropping $400 on a pair), I could tell that the glasses were high quality. Even the most basic of frames had little details that put them a step above your average eyewear. There was also a large selection and plenty of frames that fit my ultra-wide face. I would definitely come back here if I'm ever in the market for classy, unique glasses. read more

My husband did a favor for me today and he experienced the below. I'm very disappointed as I love their sunglasses. My wife's $1200 limited edition 18k gold Dita sunglasses started developing "rub marks" on the inside of the lenses from the earpieces after 9 months of light usage. So I visited the SoHo store today, on a beautiful Friday, the 16th of September, expecting them to rectify the situation. They have a 1-year warranty, after all. Instead, the salesman, quite possibly the rudest and least interested in customer service I've ever encountered, simply tighten the screws on the arms. Handing them back to me he said, "The arms just needed to be tightened so they don't touch the lenses." My response was "Ok, but what about the marks on the lenses?" "We offer a $100 lense replacement," Mr. Smug replied. I informed him that that was unacceptable for what I consider a design flaw, and should be disclosed prior to sale. At the very least it should be covered under warranty. He disagreed that it's a design flaw, and had apparently grown tired of the conversation. "I'm disappointed, guys," I informed him and his female colleague, to which he replied, "That's fine." I guess they don't care about our business, customer service or common courtesy. Epic fail. UPDATE: management contacted us the next day and is rectifying the problem. Ariel, the store manager, is very nice and Dita makes the best sunglasses I've ever seen. He provided us with great customer service. We were able to get our sunglasses fixed and it all worked out in the end. read more

I have a second pair of glasses w/lenses from this very well designed shop. They do have many current and well make frames for both sun and prescription. The staff is very helpful and knowledgable. The most important advantage -not to be missed- is their own digital lenses. My lenses are progressive, fairly strong, for reading, distance, and transitional. Transitional lens are terrific while walking in and out of stores on a bright day. Dita's pricing on quality lenses is exceptional. I have paid three times the price of Dita's and did not get a better pair of frames with/without lenses. I highly recommend a visit to Dita Soho. read more

Hubby purchased me a pair of the Condor Aviators last year for my birthday. They are stylish and I always get compliments on them. However, I dropped them getting out of my car and one of the lens smashed out. Called the Dita store in soho and they said they will replace the lens for a fee. First time in the store and I was greeted by Ariel. His service was welcoming and he was very informative on the products. I got my aviators back looking and feeling like the first day I received them. I would highly recommend Dita frames to anyone looking for something different then what the corporate well known brands have to offer.
