I was excited by the idea of a beauty supply shop in Hollywood but this place is a travesty. Either it is closed for business or it should be. First off, the hours are not listed on the door. Second, Maps has their hours listed as 11-6 on Monday. I arrived at 11:15 to a locked and dark building. Yelp said noon so I said okay I'll wait. It is not 12:22 and it is still closed. Three other customers have shown up and by the casual way they walked off I can tell they were not surprised by the unprofessionalism. I do not understand why professionalism is so hard. Basic rule of business: honor your hours. Oh and before someone replies with the same line given to a previously disgruntled potential customer, there is absolutely no sign on the door and no update on the Instagram page. read more

I'm sad that this is supposedly a black owned business because the "no hoods" sign posted on the door does not give a welcoming feel. I'm trying to understand what has that much value that a customer could possibly fit in their hood that enforces this rule onto all your customers. I'm also sure that most of the people wearing hoods are black women whose hair isn't done and popped into the beauty supply really quick to finish their hair or are on their way to get their hair done. I completely understand wanting to protect your business from I'm assuming theft is the reason for the sign, if not correct me if I'm wrong, but telling your customers to not wear their hoods seems extremely racially charged. Not to mention the women in there were not friendly. I'll be buying from another black owned business from now on who could care less if I'm wearing my hood. read more

I'm so happy came into this place ! I'm just now starting to have my hair long enough to put in a pony tail! And I don't know if you all know this but black hair doesn't just go up like our lighter counter parts ! It's a process . I had no idea what to do to get my edges to be a part of the process ! They was having there own ideas Thank fully the girl at the counter was very helpful in giving me advice on what to use. And it worked excellently ! Catherine was beyond educated on her products ! Believe me it was a god send . I came back the next week and got all that I needed. Also it's good to find products for black hair in the area ! You don't see that a lot ! Immediately, when I walked in the girl at the front told me I needed to remove my hood. This was very strange and confusing. It is not a crime to have a hood on. Unless, you're Black apparently. I was so relieved to discover that there was a beauty supply in Hollywood that had Rastafri & Ezbraid for my clients! They have every single color and color combo you can think of. They were out of the one I was looking for so I looked around the store and noticed some nice braiding hair colors and hair . I said you guys have some cool colors she just silent but when I ask do they provide discounts for professional cosmetologist . She was extremely verbal in telling me "WE DONT GIVE NO DISCOUNTS" I was done with this energy and will not be spending my hard earned dollars here where they obviously don't care who is reflecting their business to black women which the marketing for us is on the front door and a disclaimer that states " BLACK LIVES MATTER" but I guess that only is for show because the way DIVA customer service was set up she clearly doesn't agree. Get rid of her and employ someone who is happy to see BLACK WOMEN and willing to give customer service to your targeted market. I ll go back to my regular beauty supplies where they are respectful at least to their customers and give me my little 10% discount. read more

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME LIKE I DID. Poor business practices. Says outside it's supposed to open at 10 am. I come at 10:30 and it's still closed. On Google it says it opens at 11 so i wait for it to open. It's still not open at 11:15. This is just bad business if you can't reliably count on a store to be open! Especially in LA getting around is a time invest. This place wasted my time. I will never come back. Mainly because who knows if it will even be open. read more

I came to this place based on the decent reviews I read. I was looking for a new wig and wasn't too impressed with the selection but found something I liked regardless. The sales associate was helpful but there was a 3 wig try on limit which I hate because I'm pretty indecisive. I was relieved that the store was small and empty and that I wasn't followed around the store like I usually experience in Asian owned beauty stores.
