Haven't been here in a few years and wanted to try it again. Pizza sauce was a bit bland. Slices were big and cheese was plentiful. Last time we order from here, it reminded me of the old Bocce Pizza. It just wasn't the same. I will wait a bit to come back and see if it gets better. read more

Tried them out for the first time a month and a half ago or maybe 2 months. We actually got the chicken finger pizza first (twice) before trying the regular classic cheese and pep. Very pleased with both, prices are very reasonable and both were very delicious. The chicken finger pie he cooks different then the classic cheese and pep. Little extra fluff to the dough but I really enjoyed the fact they put lettuce and tomato on it(mainly because I have not seen anyone do that for a chicken finger pizza in many years and it was awesome) blue cheese base, fluffier yet crisp dough, great crust and of course the chicken fingers with lettuce and tomato and hot sauce. The cheese and pep is also great. That seems to be cooked slightly more thin and crisp(has a nice crunch but not overbearing) and presentation, taste similar to bocces or imperial but definitely not as thick as imperial or as pricey more comparable to bocces. I hate to be a Diva, but this isn't my fave slice in town. They charge 2.75 for an enormous big slice, heated up until piping hot without me even asking them to. It was pretty yummy, saucy, with a hefty bready crust. It burned my mouth which I really appreciate - that's the sign of a properly heated slice. When I try it again, it may be a 5, but it was just a little congealed so we'll stay with 4 for now. As an aside, this must be one of the most Republican Pizzerias around! read more

Oh, Diva's....what has happened to you? Was back in the old 'hood on Monday night so of course ordered a Diva's large cheese and pepperoni. My son picked up the box and said, *this feels unusually light for a Diva's*. We were really disappointed to see that Diva's is stretching the dough out as thin as possible. It no longer has the heft and weight it did before. This is definitely NOT the same Diva's pizza of yore. They even skimped on the pepperonis! Before you couldn't take a bite without getting a pepperoni slice in your mouth. Now it's like the places who are so stingy with the toppings that you're lucky to get 3-4 pepperonis on a slice. The pie size, which was huge before, is also smaller, and no longer cut into 12, just the usual 8. We're sad. My son grew up on Diva's. He worked there. We expected the same Diva's size and quality as before. But it seems as if Kenny is going to route of providing his loyal customer base with as little pizza as he can manage in order to turn the biggest profit - and the price went up .50 since last time, besides! Kenny - get your shit together on this! I just participated in the Buffalo's Best Pizza vote and of course picked Diva's, but honestly, now I want to change my vote. You're sliding downhill. I feel like it's now no longer necessary to make Diva's a must-have stop when I'm in the old 'hood. I can get the same kind of El Cheapo Pizza that Diva's is now producing for less up in NT. The pizza at Diva's is quite good. I might not put it in the top 10 in the Buffalo region but I would put it in the top 20. We tried them for the first time this past Sunday. Like Bocce's, you either get a whole or half pizza, not a large or small. The style was somewhat similar to Bocce's, but maybe with slightly less spicy flavors. We ordered pepperoni and mushroom. The sauce was NOT sweet. I'm not a fan of sweet sauce, but the sauce was probably the weakest point of the pizza. The sauce was kind of bland, but I like that better than sweet. I was impressed that it was not a grease overload, it was nicely balanced and didn't cause heartburn or anything. I've become more sensitive to that in my old age. The crust was just the right consistency. Not too doughy. Generous amount of cheese without going overboard. Prices are reasonable. I'll go again if I am in the area. read more

Upon seeing the Yelp review, I decided to try this pizza place. Pizza was definitely fresh, although they didn't have slices of their specialty pizza (only cheese & pepperoni) otherwise you had to order half and whole pizzas to try what they seem to be known for! I tried 1/2 of their white pizza (cheese-based pizza with garlic and sliced tomatoes on top). REALLY refreshing and light, tasted like I was eating a garden salad and was not super greasy or anything. It was missing a bit of something, which I'm not sure what, the fresh tomatos was a unique approach to replace the marinara sauce needed in pizza... but it sorta didn't make it taste like pizza anymore, more like a cheesy bread with a garden salad on top? I don't discredit their pizzas, just that I tried better (namely the Secret Pizza place at The Cosmo in Vegas - the best white pizza I've tasted). The downfalls is that this pizzeria is in a rather sketchy looking part of town, it itself in a small rundown shack that I would have not guessed to be a good pizza place had it not been for Yelp. Don't get me wrong, good food can come from obscure places, but after an exhausting day, this pizzeria was a difficult trek for a foreigner like me. It was a bit hard to find and pretty much in the middle-of-nowhere in a town that I would not feel comfortable being in for long. If you live in the area, I can see why its a good local pizza joint, but otherwise, save yourself the trip! read more

Wow It hurts me to see anyone put down anything but a five star review for this place, I have been going to Diva's since 1978 when they first opened on Walden and Ruleland st they transformed an old carpet store into the best pizza place in Buffalo, that is just as good if not better then Bocce club pizza, in fact Frank and Al worked at Bocce pizza before they opened Diva's pizza, I moved to Nort Carolina in the late 90's and to this day have friends and family bring me a couple pizzas when they come to visit, Diva's is in the same catigory of Bocce, Leonardy;s Imperial,La Nova, Mr Pizza Bozanna's and Blasdell pizza, All I can say is if you don't agree and give Diva's Pizza 5 stars you have NO clue what good Pizza is. the BEST pizza in Buffalo, HANDS DOWN. i have been enjoying Diva's pizza literally since i was a child (that's since the 70s, yo...), and each and every time i turn a Diva's virgin onto their pie, its a HUGE hit. Diva's menu is not extensive, and that is exactly how i like it, because that means they do one thing, and they do it well. you won't find a charbroiler or a fryer in this south buffalo pizza joint. and, the pies crafted here are NOT your typical Buffalo pizzas... the crust is on the thinner side, but perfectly cripsy and firm. the sauce is sweet and well balanced. the cheese blend is dead on heaven, and the toppings are out of this world -- huge mushrooms, fresh sweet onions, thick handcut pepperoni...the list goes on. the only thing better than a fresh, hot Diva's out of the oven, is a slice reheated the next day. i assure you, this pizza is worth your drive to Kaisertown! i drive from north buffalo at least twice a month just for the heaven that is a slice of Diva's pizza... read more

Until the pizza went 6 feet under and the last two times I've ordered I was given 1)...25 minutes....and waited 15 more after I went to pick it up. 2)....30 minutes, showed up to find they didn't even make my pizza yet and had to wait 40 more minutes for it to finish. The storefront is tiny and right on the corner, and there is no seating, just a counter and ovens. What emerges from those ovens is an excellent large pizza, sold by the whole or half pie.
