I went here on a Saturday during lunch time and ordered the breakfast burrito from the brunch menu. I was very disappointed as the scrambled eggs were the the only warm ingredient where the hash browns and bacon were room temperature and shredded cheese not even warm or melted. The cinnamon fluff was inedible and I ate the sweet potato tots plain or with ketchup. Coffee was good and not burnt but server was new and did not know much about waiting tables. My friend ordered omelette which she liked but hash browns were cold and bland but bacon was crispy but not freshly made. read more

Dive in to the Dive Bar and have a bite! We had an early lunch here and it was a joy suiting outside and enjoying the sights while eating a tasty meal. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had started with donut holes, had pizza bites, the humus plate, crispy Brussels, "The South of the Border" burger and a Greek salad topped with seared tuna. The hummus was the only thing that needed a little seasoning, but it was still good. Everything else was very tasty and well- prepared. I enjoy coming here for trivia (Thursday 7pm-9pm) as the atmosphere is great. The place is hopping and typically it's one server to all the trivia teams on the top floor so be mindful of that. The food is sometimes a hit or mediocre other times- never bad tho. Some menu items the I recommended: grilled Cesar salad, bar wings (recommend the bbq& buffalo sauce) and chicken tenders with fries. One thing I would skip like the nachos (not a fan of the beer cheese) but other people like it so to each their own at the end of the day. Service is okay. Great bartenders but service can be come and go at times. I believe they're still training staff so I give them grace and patience with it, especially on trivia nights. However if you need a quick in and out, do take out or skip. read more

So glad I stopped here to grab a late dinner with my grandma and brother. Their apps were great. Pizza poppers and spinach dip eith extra spinach. I ordered the salmon wrap....I've been craving it ever since I got it. I think I've found my new addiction. I dont even know what everyone else got because I was looking down inhaling and trying to savor my wrap. The service was great. I can tell the place probably gets busy based on how attentive the servers are. Love the setup as well. You aren't on top of the next table. I was very disappointed when Ram's Head folded in this location during COVID, but DB&G is pretty darned awesome! Good beer selection, and the food is quite good. I can recommend the Ahi Tuna Tacos. The One-Armed Fisherman sandwich is terrific as well. The breading is just perfect. Some of the portions can be a little large. The things they do with tots is creative and amazing! Update: Their lunch and dinner menu remains good. Their brunch was weak and I would not recommend. The paper brunch menu did not match the online menu- I ordered a veggie breakfast burrito and on the paper menu it describes it being stuffed with scrambled eggs and veggies, but what came out was a bunch of veggies in a tortilla, no eggs. Had to ask for eggs on the side which they comp'd luckily. The hash browns were tiny diced breakfast potatoes that were so clearly reheated and not a pleasant texture. Tables sat dirty around us for majority of brunch despite it not being busy at 1 pm on a Sunday. I'll return for some of the dinner meals but never for brunch again. read more

This place was a genuine surprise to me. A casual and fairly unsuspecting atmosphere giving way to a fantastic dining experience. The food was all great, with generous portions and some really fantastic menu items that leave me wanting to go back! Our waiter was polite and helpful, not overbearing but just there enough to make sure the dining experience was flawless, on point, and everything shone as it should. My one gripe, and it's a minor one at that is the place can be a little loud, and it's not the easiest to find if you're going in through the other buildings. But that certainly isn't enough to disqualify a well deserved 5 star rating for the food, ambiance and service. Thank you for a wonderful lunch! read more

Don't let their social media fool you. Their food is always cold and extremely disappointing. Wish they would realize Rams head's concept worked and this isn't. So I'll start by saying this place is in a really nice spot. It's inside the old savage mill and their patio / deck sits a couple stories high surround by trees and the creek. But that's about it in terms of anything good about the place. We walked in and stood at the hostess stand for over 10 minutes while 4 workers were behind the bar. Not one person said hello or we will be right with you. There were maybe 5 people sitting at the bar and two tables inside. So they weren't busy. There was one waitress inside and two on the deck. With maybe 5 tables on the deck. So after another gentlemen went over and complained someone finally came over to take us to a table on the deck. Once on the deck we waited at least another 10-15 mins before a server came over. Again. Not busy. We even asked the table behind us if they experienced the same thing and they had. Once the waitress came over she was very polite and we gave her our drinks and order. 2 beers. 2 apps. And 2 meals. After another 10 mins She comes back with 1 beer and said the other keg had kicked they were switching it. Then 10 mins later she comes back and said there's no more of those kegs we have to order a different beer so we did. 10 mins later both apps and the food came out all at once. Still didn't get the beer so we asked for it again. Food: my buddy ordered a pulled pork sandwich. It was gross. Something out of box from food lion. He also got fried pickles. They were barely coated and undercooked slimy. I had ordered a grilled chicken salad with ranch dressing. It came out as a grilled chicken Ceaser salad with a large side of ranch. Now it was soaked in Ceaser dressing. I had also got the calamari which was old and rubbery. I didn't touch the calamari but did eat some of the salad because we were irritated and just wanted to leave at this point. I complained to the waitress and she stated the manager was placing a discount on the check. They did. $2.00 off a $30 meal that was absolutely horrible. Very sad because like I said really nice looking place with a nice outdoor space but very easy to say neither of us will ever be back again. read more

A surprising little place in Savage Mill. It's in the old Ram's Head space. We sat at the bar and only ordered apps but the food was outstanding. Stand outs were the Brussels and the Cauliflower and I don't even like cauliflower. The nachos were a tad disappointing but still decent. Same with the hummus. Nothing special but solid. The pretzels were very good. Nice beer selection and efficient and friendly bartenders. Really nice place to hang out. read more

3.5 Stars It's a quiet Tuesday evening, barely anyone around. Bartender and male host, with red hair - both maskless and our waitress, her mask sat just below her nose. She was very polite and efficient, but seeing her nose - bothered me. And the bartender, her mask drooped below her chin. Wonders if restrictions have eased up some. An app of fried cremini mushrooms, were pipping hot, plump and juicy. The hubs and I agreed, this item was a winner. My cheeseburger was cooked like I had asked, medium well - but nothing spectacular. Sitting atop was a lettuce a leaf, a thin slice of cheese, a shard of red onion and a tomato slice. I loved this place when it first opened. The knuckle sandwich is really good. But as we've been going more we are either noticing more food quality issues or the cooking is going down hill. I have been about 6 times since opening. It's probably less than 3.5 stars here now. I'll be back, mostly due to how close it is, and if the food remains meh I'll drop the stars to 3. So for today, we ordered sandwiches and the rubin eggroll appetizer. They started prep on the sandwiches first and the appetizer didn't come until half way through our meal. I'm not sure who's fault that was, but it sounds like restaurant 101 to me. The server apologized but didn't offer any discount in the very late appetizer. We really didn't care but it would have been nice if some kind of gesture was there. I ordered the Banh Mi sandwich. My friend ordered the Italian. Each sandwich had a different roll. The bread on both sandwiches were lightly toasted but even toasted I could tell the bread didn't seem fresh. I made a comment to my friend and he said the same about his. The bread was on the stale side. As for the banh mi, it was super dry. The pork was dry, stale bread not helping, and the sauce to bread ratio just wasnt there. They need to do something with it to balance the moisture with the dryness of the pork and bread. I did enjoy the peppers on the sandwich. The fries were on the soggy side. This has happened all 6 times we've gone. They either don't use hot enough oil or they don't cook them long enough. We've tried the chips in the past and they give way too many but none of the 7 different people I've been to this place have liked them. There is just something wrong. A lot of the food sounds fancy, but what you get in the end has been meh to ok but not living up to the expectation the menu sets. I think the menu needs to set better expectations. I go to plenty of real dives and get what I expect. One last thing, the server today was excellent. They were managing the bar and tables at same time but still came over many times to make sure we had what we needed. read more

I was wanting to get to the Dive Bar & Grille as it's a new promising restaurant nearby, in a nice spot and they're from Pittsburgh and we're all Steelers and Penguins fans as well. Not to mention, the past tenant was not without its issues so the bar was set low and my expectations were set high. I took my daughter for dinner on a Saturday night. The hostess and our waitress, Kelsey were both great. Kelsey was very attentative and patient with us especially with such a large menu. I ordered the portabella mushroom appetizer. With the dish being called 'Grilled Portabella', I expected an entire portabella mushroom head in some form or other. Instead there were only (3) slivers of a portabella mushoom on the plate. The rest was comprised of a majority of artichokes, spinach and roasted red peppers on bread. I don't think it would have broke the bank if they provided more or all of the entire portabella mushroom head as the roasted red peppers overpowered everthing else and I could have done without the bread. I also ordered the Crabby Tots. I'm a tator tot fanatic so I wanted to compare them to Sonoma's in Columbia where I frequent. Now it's kind of hard to screw up tator tots, but these were left in the fryer a few minutes too long as they were crusty. I don't mind a crunch to them but they were burned. They could have used slightly more dip to cover up the burned ones too. Sonoma's has them beat hands down here. I also ordered the cauliflower as a side. They were better but, in my opinion, the sauce on them was too heavy on the salty soy sauce as opposed to sweet, but everyone has their preference. I also ordered the brussel sprouts as a side and they were very good! I couldn't put my finger exactly what was in the sauce but, none the less, they were good. My daughter got the fried pickle spears. We're both more fans of pickle chips over the spears. I think the batter to pickel has something to do with it, plus the batter stays on a chip better, but they were still good. She also liked her Hometown Salad with steak and her sweet potato tator tots. That brown sugar/cinnamon dip they gave with these tots was excellent. All that being said, I think they still have time to tweek things and we would like to be back to try other things on their impressive menu, like their mac & cheese and wings. And hopefully they have the NFL Package so Steelers fans can catch the games there when they are not broadcasted locally. read more

Been a couple times, no complaints. The beer selection is somewhat limited, the food is good, and the service is great. The crab dip with tortilla chips and soft pretzels is very good, the Old Bay wings were under seasoned for my taste, they really just tasted like deep fried wings with a hint of seasoning. If they broaden their beer selection, and work to improve their menu items this could be a great place (Savage Mill is a very unique property). read more

Shoutout to our local community heroes! We are truly thankful and blessed that when we called in and spoke to Jordyn that they were able to accommodate our family of 11 for dinner tonight! We had a special dinner to celebrate our daughter and new son-in-law ! We had our first family meal since the wedding and I was overjoyed to have our family meet at this beautiful venue! I apologized to Jordyn for misspelling her name on my last review. She is so pleasant! Tonight we were in the great care of the one and only Jasmine! She is bright, kindly, attentive, and personable ! I could already tell we were going to have a memorable night! The venue is beautiful inside and out! Good vibes! Lots of TV's. Great for date night, family meals, or sitting at the bar to chill. We ordered some appetizers for the dinner to start us off. With Jasmine's help picking food shareable picks. The amazing warm pretzel sticks and decadent creamy beer cheese!!! A crowd pleasing mountain of nachos! And a delightful plate of hummus, black bean, pita, and veggies!!I know, why order all these yummies before the entrees? Because it's delicious and a great ice breaker! All our entrees were amazing and correct!!! Jasmine and staff were great! All our food came out like a well orchestrated symphony! Foodie best bites! I took pics and started eating while it was hot and fresh! I will have to label the pics later! Trust me, from crunchtastic tater tots to my medium rare full flavored hanger steak and all in between!!! A great time had by all!!! So far we have been here twice, and we have been blown away by both the food quality and the service both times. My wife has said that this place has now become her go-to place for burgers. I have had both the Chopped Chicken Salad and the Thai Chicken Wrap, and both were absolutely exquisite! My daughter is a tough critic. She devoured her kids cheeseburger, felt rather meh about their chicken tenders, and LOVED her crab mac and cheese (off the adult entree menu...truth be told, I was sneaking bites off her dish and absolutely loved it!). My only food complaint is that their french fries could be crispier...but such is the price for when you can taste that these potatoes were cut that very day! One note about their service: They are absolutely incredible! My daughter LOVES to engage with others and is admittedly rather awkward about it. Sometimes wait staff can be rather impatient and abrupt towards her. The staff at Dive Bar & Grille couldn't have been more patient, friendly, and accommodating towards her. I love the ambience of the space itself: it's like Ellicott City without having to go into EC. Reading other comments here, service was fine for us on a Friday night. Water came immediately, drink orders right after that, appetizer 5 minutes later, and then the burgers. A menu with lots of interesting choices; not a fine dining place, but a place where it's easy to knosh on one thing, then try another, and another, over good conversation. We loved the brussel sprout appetizer: perfectly cooked, slightly charred and crisp edges, tossed in a balsamic glaze. The only negative I can add is that one person in our group wanted the burger *extra* well done, but all burgers came out medium well done. It wasn't enough to send the burger back, but I just thought mgmt/staff would want to know. read more
