I really wanted to like Divine House Cleaning! I hired them to help me clean my new apartment before moving in, because I thought they were "professional" and would help to clean the unit much better than my regular housekeeper. I was wrong. Being Asian, my boyfriend and I have a habit of taking our shoes off before entering our home. Since Divine's cleaning ladies came to clean our new apartment today, we thought it would be safe to walk around with our shoes off. 10 minutes later, both of us found our feet covered with dust and filth! (See picture attached) Also, did I mention that there were cobwebs in the corners of one of the rooms when I inspected the unit before they left? Maybe it was the language barrier (the ladies did not speak English), but when I pointed out the cobwebs to one of the ladies, she did not even apologize - simply swatted the cobwebs away with her bare hand. Either my housekeeper is as good as it gets, or Divine House Cleaning isn't as "professional" as they claim to be. Since they charged me $170 (after discount) while my housekeeper charges me $150 for a house twice the size (+ for better and more thorough cleaning), I don't think I'll be calling them again. read more

Just had 2 cleaners come today to my 1 bedroom house in hermosa. What a joke. $180.00 dollars for a deep clean for a 900 sq ft house. They were here (2 ladies) for a max of 1.5 hours. This is "considered deep clean"? There's still dirt and grime everywhere in my house dust all over my walls and floors. I honestly feel like I just got robbed. NEVER AGAIN. They are the absolute worst! I scheduled an new apartment deep cleaning 3.5 weeks before my move in date to make sure I could get the date and time I wanted. I spoke with him, and stated several times that I needed that date specifically because the movers were moving everything in the day after. He confirmed it would not be a problem and confirmed that I was scheduled. The day of the appointment I realized I had not heard from him via phone or text so I called. He then tells me that he made a mistake and has me down for the following weekend.....so when he printed off the schedule for the day he did not assign anyone to me. Oh. My Gosh. Yelva is amazing. I'm Asian. I live in a 1 bedroom / 1 bathroom apartment in West LA. I'm also a bachelor, so even though I know how to clean, there are certain aspects of cleaning that I'm TOTALLY baffled by. A few weeks ago, I knew that I had a couple of people coming to stay over at my apartment, and I honestly haven't done a deep cleaning for a few years. So I did my Yelp search and looked around at different options and read a ton of reviews and pricing options and settled on Divine House Cleaning. I contacted Kevin and he gave me a price quote and told me that there would be 2 people coming for a total of 2 1/2 hours. Well, on the day of, only 1 person came by the name of Yelva. And I honestly slightly freaked out, because Kevin told me that two people would be coming. So I immediately texted him and he reassured me that Yelva does an amazing job and no matter what, she wouldn't leave until the job was done. Well, let me say that Yelva is AMAZING. I know that this sounds utterly lame, but my apartment building was probably built in the 1960s and they probably haven't changed half the appliances ever since the apartment was built. And honestly...as much as I know how to vacuum and dust and stuff...I have never really been able to figure out how to clean my oven. And when Yelva was done, my jaw almost dropped open. Because I honestly don't even remember what the original color of my oven was. Yeah, she's *that* good. You know how some cleaning services, when they're cleaning your bathroom that has tiled floor, they'll simply bring a mop and mop here and there? Well, my bathroom is sorta on the tiny and cramped side and there are nooks and crannies behind the toilet and stuff like that which my 5'11" body has a hard time reaching and cleaning after all these years. I was simply going to be happy if Yelva sprayed and wiped up the dust that had accumulated behind my toilet after all these years. But noooooooooooooo...she actually took out a small bucket, filled it up with a little bit of water and poured it out on the bathroom floor. The woman actually SCRUBBED the floor clean. Like, I think I remember my eyeballs almost popping out when I realized how sparkling clean the floor was. Of course, you need to do some prep work, like you should do before any cleaning service comes. The less clutter you have, the easier it makes things for the cleaning service. For example, if you have crap on your shelves, they have no idea if it's crap that you want to keep vs crap you want to throw out vs crap that you don't want touched, so you definitely need to make your apartment as minimalist as you can, before any cleaning service comes! Yelva didn't speak much English and I don't speak any Spanish, but she we were definitely able to communicate and I was able to answer some questions she had. She scrubbed the floors, cleaned the oven, dusted my bookcases, wiped down all surfaces, etc., and even brought her own light-weight vacuum to vacuumed throughout the apartment, too! Not only that, but before she left, she made sure to call Kevin and put him on the phone and Kevin talked to me and asked me if there was anything that Yelva could do more before she left, in case I had any needs that hadn't been met. But nope, I was definitely amazed and happy by how well she cleaned things! I'm definitely SOOOOOOO happy that I chose Kevin & Yelva to do the cleaning! Yelva is definitely a miracle worker! If I have any future cleaning services, I'm definitely going to be contacting Divine House Cleaning and asking for Yelva again!!!! :) read more

My place wasn't that dirty more dusty, but I'm really impressed at how clean my apartment turned out. Would definitely use them again. As soon as she arrived she asked me to point her the areas that needed more attention and she focused on these first, then proceeded with the rest of the house. Seems like this place is under new - and bad - management. All the most recent reviews sound like my situation. Got a quote, set up an appointment, was told to pay in cash. Confirmed appointment date and time several weeks in advance. A day before the appointment, I reached out to be sure they were still coming (I read those other reviews!) and got no response. Called in the morning, no response. Appointment time came and went, and now a day later I still cannot get anyone to reply to my voicemail, Yelp message, or calls. The company seems too good to be true, they might have been a great cleaning service once upon a time, but now it's just a surefire way to schedule disappointment. Booking was easy and they were very prompt in e-mailing me back and working with me to make sure I was comfortable having the cleaners in my house when I wasn't there. They were about an hour late but they did let me know they were going to be late. Overall, they did a great job cleaning. The floors looked fabulous, the kitchen was very clean and they even found a ball my dog had lodged under the couch months ago! A few sets of blinds were not dusted and one countertop got missed and still had sticky and oily spots on it. Just had my apartment cleaned by Divine House Cleaning. It was a much needed deep clean. Yelva and Hedy (?) did a great job and they were very nice and personable too. I wanted to like this place so bad. I was looking for so long someone to clean our apartment. Its a very small apartment only about 700 square feet so it shouldn't be too hard. We paid for the DEEP cleaning and we added on dishes and the fridge. 1. they cleaning inside the fridge, bu the freezer was untouched. For an extra 10$ just to clean the fridge I don't understand how the freezer is not included. 2. they didn't move any furniture or clean under any furniture. All corners were still left dirty, under my tv stand was still disgusting. I was really shocked for a DEEP cleaning. I had to ask them to vacuum under the couch cushions and I had to ask them to do the full length mirror we have. 3. the floors werent cleaned, just sweeped and polished even though my floors are linoleum and dont need polish just need to be cleaned. 3. they left black hand marks almost ALL over my tiny apartment, including black marks o my floor too in the bathroom. I had to ask for them to clean the bed frame since its white and we have a dog. The did not clean the counter top they just wiped whatever was visible with a towel.... later that day I came up to my counter and saw everything still on it and cleaned it myself. They left a pee stain on my toilet cover meaning they didnt clean that either. This was so so bad for a deep cleaning and for wasting 130 dollars AND I tipped them both. TWO people on a 700 square foot apartment and a horrendous cleaning job. I spent an hour afterwards cleaning after them. Very unfortunate as my search for a cleaning company that actually cleans continues. The reason there are 2 stars is because at least the apartment was a tiny bit cleaner than before but my hour after they were done helped with that as well. I schedule a move-out deep clean. They were on time and Kevin is very responsive. I pointed to everything that needed cleaning and extra attention before I left. When I returned I found about 10 spots that had not been cleaned at all. They did those. But honestly this was not a Deep Clean. Nothing really looked scrubbed, just wiped. It probably would have been fine for a regular cleaning but the place needs to be immaculate before our new tenants move in and it was far from that. Yelva is the best! Always on time and friendly. I did the deep cleaning once last year and she did a great job but I wasn't financially in a position to have her come regularly. Then I splurged again last December after I spent a week in hospital and took another three weeks to recuperate. There was no way I could clean anything - I could barely walk! Again, Yelva was fantastic. Divine House Cleaning's rates are so reasonable I can now afford to have Yelva come once every two weeks. She's always on time (or 15 minutes early), does a great job, and Kevin is always quick to respond via email or text. Payment online is simple and painless, and my house is wonderfully clean (although most of the mess is dog fur from my Golden Retriever!).
